I wanted to buy the note for some time, but i was disappointed in the sprint launch of note 3 so i wanted to know if the price will drop for the note 2 when the note 3 comes out. Right now i see a price of $249.99 for upgrade but how much lower will it drop or will it even drop the price?

it could drop to 200$,but most likely, they will discontinue selling the note 2.

You could always buy mine for 350. Comes with 3 zero lemon batteries, 1standard case for the regular battery, a thin case and a screen protector. Only flaw is a crack that runs from left to right. Its a perfect line.

And you would keep your upgrade.

Price on note 3 vs note 2
So yesterday I went to Best buy to pre-order the galaxy gear, and none of the ppl there knew what what the galaxy gear. So I continued looking around the Samsung kiosk that they have setup in store... mean while geeks search and educate them self's over the Galaxy Gear. I could help notice that the galaxy note 2 still have a price tag of 800 US dls... while the note 3 is being release for the same price. unless you are upgrading.. AT&T and Verizon is only 250, Sprint has their's for 350.
i see... thanks for the observation.. i see on amazon that sprint note 2 is on sale for 149.99 for upgrade you think i should take or not.. i never bought a phone fro mthere before
It's probably going to drop to $99.00 cause I have seen it as low as $149 depending on where you look. Radio Shack and Amazon are usually cheapest. Once the Note 3 drops it could even go as low as $49.99. GSIII's are free at Sprint right now.
When upgraded devices come out the price on the old hardware always drops while it is still carried. That just depends on what direction you want to go with your purchase. You can get the newest device or buy the Note 2 which in my mind is still new. I would review the device specs closely and decide which device will fit your needs.
Sprint has been having deals on the phones when they release. S4 had a bogo so who knows what they will do when it comes out. I'm with you I want the note 3 but I don't want to pay 350 for it. I've been debating on getting the nexus 5 or note 2.

thanks for the reply people. i ordered my note 2 on amazon for 149.99 i know that it may go down to 99.99 or cheaper when note 3 comes out but i cant wait for it. im using a busted up blackberry 9630 and it has really bad problems even with texting and phone calls loll ive played around with the note 2 on my cousins phones and i know how the developements are. if only note 3 was triband and a 300 price tag i would buy it but right now none of the options came up. so ill stick with my note 2 when it comes so i can put the cleanrom ace with perseus kernel that is truly amazing. its coming on tuesday and i ordered it last night! this will be a good enough phone till the note 4 comes out and which i can use my other line's upgrade next year for it and give the other person the note 2 =)
I was contemplating getting the Note 3 but I think I am over the big screen for now. I will probably return at some point but the N3 didn't have enough wow factor for me. I am actually looking to trade my Note 2 for a Moto X lol.
Anyone interested

Hey guys! Im from US. I upgraded my phone when I got the Galaxy s3 but I really want to get the Note 2. No upgrades though =/ So what will my best option be? How much can I sell my S3 for? and should I Buy Us version or UK?
I also have ATT. Will the international note 2 work good or should I wait for ATT one
I would wait till the note 2 comes out to your provider... And then try to buy either a used note or new one straight out... Once you buy the new one you can sell your s3 to cover the cost of your note 2

What carrier is your S3? The AT&T and T-Mobile one go for $400-$425, and the Verizon and Sprint ones sell for less than that. I would honestly sell it right now. The value will drop even more when the Note II comes out. It is going to run you between $600-$700 to purchase of contract.
I sold my international S3 for $540 locally.
Post in Kijiji or Craigs list with good pics. Also go buy a class 2 cheap micro SD card and advertise it a S3 48gb. It will separate you from the competition and make you S3 seem more valuable. I would get the UK version also just for the roms alone.
I'm looking for the best way to sell my GS3 to get the GN2. I want to only spend like $200 max. S3 is 2 month old, and i have 1 extended battery and 2 additional regular batteries + OEM. Phone is in perfect condition. I see them going on ebay for $350, and i see the Note 2 going for $650. anyway i can reduce that price difference.
You could probably sell for about 400-500 if you throw in everything.

I sold my old atrix 4g on Amazon. I setup an Amazon Seller account. I got a pretty good price for it.
EBay dude. Price it at wherever you want and be patient.
Oh and if you haven't unlocked it yet, you should get it unlocked. Ask for the unlock code from ATT. Unlocked phone have a higher value.

Look at Swappa. I sold my AT&T Galaxy SII (SGH-i777) for $240 there. It was sold in about 3 days.

Amazing how fast the price on these dropped.even the eBay process are down. I think the sgs3 has some of the best specs on the market even by today's standards

Is the screen scratch free? I find this is the most important thing in a used phone.
Take a lot of pictures and put the extra battery in the sale. Get it unlocked ($25, I think) and put it on eBay.
I just looked and didn't see a used S3 going for less than $360 and the auctions weren't over.
Ian
Sold my Slll by itself within a couple hours for$420 minus $30 or something to Amazon commission. Only thing about doing that is the wait to get your money from Amazon which is about two weeks or so.
I've had great luck selling devices on XDA's marketplace. Best part about it is there are no fees!
I'd try here first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=476
Alright, Thank you everyone for the quick replies. I took one of your advices and I'm posting it on Swappa and trying my luck.
Screen has 2 hair line scratches each are an inch long or less. and they are legit hairline. so dont disturb the output, and you can only see them at a certain angle when the screen is off and cleaned. I've had moshi and militray shield screen protectors on it up untill last month. (took it off after halloween night.
PS: I listed for $450. with 2x hyper ion batteries, 1x extended battery, extended battery cover, and Unused and untested brand new samsung headphones that came with it. (i own bose, so i never opened those oem ones).

Craigslist and sell local only (no shipping) and cash only.
Ebay and Amazon are terrible IMO.
I'd wait for Google to iron out the problems with N4 before getting it.

There is no Galaxy Nexus 2. Nexus 4 is out. Google doesn't advertise it as LTE device but you do some settings and it gets LTE signal.

First, +150 is not a good deal. +50, or if the note is coming with accessories maybe. I just picked up the Note 2 brand new from Tmo for 170 out of pocket, 366 + 200 rebate. Since the price is 300+tax + 200 rebate you could just go get one from a store and sell your GS3 for 4-500.
I'd tell him that, then offer him a straight swap, only reason he is looking to sell the note is because he doesn't like it, and the GS3 is the only phone at the moment that compares so that means he wants one.

I sold my S3 2 weeks ago for $400 on craigslist within a half hour of listing it. Im sure I could have got more for it. If the Note 2 is brand new in a sealed box from someone you trust, and you know its not stolen, then go for it. That means you'll be paying about $550 for the Note 2. You'll be saving about $100+- over non contract retail. If its used, then I would probably cough up the extra $100 and get a brand new one from TMo with a 2 week return if you didnt like it.
As the title says, I am using my note 2 currently with Aliance 28 Rom. Curious from others in the same situation that upgraded if it was worth it. I have a spare 4s that I can trade in at bb and I think I can walk out for like $130. Opinions???
Thanks,
Glenn
I'm liking the n4 a lot, and I came from the exact same thing.
No root is tough to get used to. But I guess we all have to live like the masses once in a while, eh?
It's a good upgrade from note 2. I had a note 2 for 2 years and loved it had aliance room installed and I just sold on craiglist for 200 ? and traded a prepaid smartphone to bestbuy to get 200 dollars gift card. The screen is best feature and battery its maybe better than note 2
I'm currently on AT&T's network and was thinking of the Note 4's resale value. Suppose after a year or so I decide to put my phone up for sale, what would the value be compared to the other Note 4 variants on the market?
not much
it will be higher only cause it can be used internationally other than that is is about the same as the others. verizon does the same. so if you would like to get rid of it for the most money it would be now when it is still new later down the road you will get alot less for your device.just look at the note 3 on swappa or ebay and you will see the difference.

Yep, just look at the note 3 value now. You should expect your note 4 to be the same when the note 5 comes out.
My friend just sold his N4 for ~$700 on amazon, he used it for about 2-3 weeks. If you wait a year, you'll be lucky to get $3-350 for it (Which is what used note 3's go for now) because it will no longer be the new hotness.
My gf and I went to T-Mobile the other day to look into switching from AT&T. I was absolutely shocked and stupified when the sales person told me she would get $330 trade in value for her iPhone 5s 16gb and I would only get $300 trade in credit for my brand new Note 4. I was floored ?? like WTF!!
i sold my note 3 a week after i got the note 4 for $350. It was still locked to AT&T. I expect the same for the Note 4 when the 5 comes out...
I sold my Note 2 for $225
I sold my unlocked AT&T Note 3 prematurely on 9/4 on Ebay for $400.

How much of that did you get after fees?
Check on swappa.com you got all values of all phones.
You guys must be great marketing geniuses. I didn't get many responses a month back from swappa attempting to sell my wife's near mint Note 3 ATT version or my own T Mobile Note 3.
In the end sold them for 300 and 320 on Craig's list.
Both were unrooted and service provider unlocked and had been cased and screen protected from new.

Ebay takes 10% at the end of month and PayPal 2.9% at transaction. Cleared $348.xx.
On two occasions I had older phones sold on Craigslist, but when suggesting we meet in a Police station parking lot to complete transaction they didn't call back.
Hmmmmm?
I have a carry permit, but offer police station for buyers comfort.
