I am trying to help someone, the unit is old and no way to get the details of make or specs.
The unit boots to the logo, then to the touch calibration screen and then, black screen after.
The battery went flat on car, the unit wouldn't work after new battery replaced on car...
Please can you help, a huge thank you in advance for the help, please.

hii i have an old BA whose screen is gone...lost my stylus..and even the battery is dead. i live in Kolkata in India..Can Any of you guys help me on this issue...i got to make it run.
screen is gone?
what do you mean?
is it busted/cracked?
white screen?
bootloader screen? "e.g Serial/USB etc."
tri-color screen?
what exactly do you have at the moment?
(items that are necessary to check if it can be revived)
pc? (given that you posted this)
working battery?
battery charger?
usb cable/cradle?
i know what you think... i've produced more questions rather than answer.
but i think your post isnt getting any point.
if you can provide more descriptive words, we can help you. (as much)
SilverSamurai is right, please provide more detailed explaination
if you have faulty batery you may not be able to turn on your device and the red flash light will be turned on
hii
hii samurai...my ba has a swollen battery... i think ill have to buy a new one....and i have a screen where i think my touch screen is ok....but the lcd is gone....
you need to buy these things in order for you to make it or test it if it works
1. battery
2. usb cable (cradle)
you need these two to check if your unit is still operational and i know there's something in the forum how to interface with your BA remotely without the LCD.
3. LCD *** you need to buy a replacement for this. it's the most important part of your BA.
BAAAAA
i know samurai...the problem is the BA is very old now and i dont find some good mechanics here in my city...and all the guys here say that the replacements heve to be bought from china...i stay in india.....it seems illogical...hehe...thinking abt it man
hmm...
then, it's sorry to say that without those two
1. battery and
2. usb cable/charger
you cant deteremine if your unit is still working
or is it turning on...
and without the
3. LCD
you cant use it or determine if it has an OS installed,
and will never know where to start fixing...
until you got those requirement i said above, it will be NO GO for that unit.
hey all i am currently having a problem with me htc s621.
when my phone is on it randomly turns to a white screen after a 2 day period or so. and after a while of turning off phone/taking out battery/taking out sim card and doing this a lot it goes back to normal. im getting pretty mad and was wondering if i need to get my phone replaced or what.
any advice is helpfull. and the phone is not updated to 6.1 or anything like that. btw it all started to happen after i dropped my phone one time. i am not sure if that helps or not.
thanks in advance

The phone may be damaged. Is it a stock phone or has it be flashed with a rom?
it is purely stock no upgrades at all. today it did something new, it was white then 20 min later wen back to normal without me turning it off or anything. should i bring it in into warintee or anything i can do to help it?
I have seen simular situations before. It is possible that when you dropped it, the ribbon cable connecting the LCD to the board became dislodged and is only making a partial connection. Or the LCD is just plain broken and needs to be replaced. You can get a new LCD on ebay for around $30 USD and do it yourself or take it to a repair shop and have then look at it for you.
i believe i will take it into the store tommorow. get a professional statement and opinion to see what i should do. thanks alot guys

I recall reading some time back concering the cause of the white screen had something to do with the backlight time, try making some adjustments with the backlight. Also do a serious search for that old thread dealing with this problem..............!
You would probably need a new screen and the best option would be to replace it yourself because you could find a cheap one off ebay and then just youtube and you could find on how to install the new screen.
Hi,
I have a T-Mobile G2, original ROM. An hour ago, a very weird thing happened. Out of blue I picked up my phone to find a contact and I was stunned to see no display. The bottom panel/button lights were on, but there was no display. I only pressed power button to bring it out of standby. No liquid was spilled, no shock observed. I was just lying on tabletop.
I took out the battery and tried booting again (like WM sets), but no success. I can receive calls, apparently I can dial my last dialed number, I probably will be able to dial from the keyboard.
Anyone else how experienced something similar. I know the ultimate act would be to replace the LCD, but am just wondering if anyone else had observed this behavior and countered it without replacing the LCD?
Oh yeah, there is no warranty.
Please help.
Thanks,
MAK

Your screen died. Get a new screen.
that's a worst case scenario...give me some hope...
Same thing happened to my original G2, luckily I bought it at Costco so I was easily able to return it and get a new one.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
So far, it looks like this is the only option. Can't figure out why it happened. It was perfectly fine before and it didn't show any @#$ signs >:|
I searched other forums and seems like I am not the only one with this problem. All they suggested was to take out the battery, mem card, sim and leave it for a while and when it put everything back in, the display was working fine again. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me, not even restoring factory default, not to mention going through that painful "shooting in dark" process.
I am already aware that if all things fail, LCD has to be replaced. Other than that if anyone has any other suggestion(s), it'd be much appreciated. Otherwise thanks anyways
Hi,
Hope someone can help me here.
Problem: Typical wobbling charging port and eventually wouldn't charge at all. 1 week out of warranty with Asus so they refused to help.
What I have done: I bought an ME571K SUB_BD./AS board from asusparts.eu and managed to fit it. The charging now works perfectly.
Unfortunately as stated on their site, " this part may have to be calibrated to work with your unit." . So when I load the Nexus now it boots but there is zero response from the screen. I have contacted Asus but the call centre said he didn't think it needed calibration but he doesn't know as he doesn't have access to any information. To send it to Asus is £50 (which is fine if that sorted it) but he couldn't tell me what the charge for anything was or what that £50 is for other than booking it in. So they could charge me £150... or whatever they like.
I haven't rooted it or done anything else but I can get into the FastBoot menu and tried factory resetting to see if this did something. It didn't.
I cannot find any information or guides on calibrating the screen from the position I am in. All of the tools I have seen are for minor calibration and not for the screen not working at all.
Quite gutted as the tablet is great and if I can get this sorted it will last me for a good while.
Really hope someone can help and many thanks in advance.

Did you reflash your rom after replacing the board? If not, the new board might have no driving firmware. Try the multi-touch fix thread or this one. AFAIK, those are extracted from stock images, and they do calibrate the whole touchscreen. BTW, what did you do with the old one?
Hello....
I'm new here, but hoping someone will be able to help me with my problem.
I droped the phone and smashed the screen.....nothing new, right
I have got replacement screen....after fitting it and turning phone on what I get is only black screen and backlight.
There is sound, and phone seems to be working, I can make call...ringtone is rining, alarm clock is working as well.....no life at all in the screen, not even start up logo.
Just backlight.
Anyone have any idea what that could be? Faulty new screen?
Reale thank you for any clues and advices .....
How can you make a call or set the alarm clock when you can't see anything?
Anyway, I guess either the connector was not seated well, or you got a faulty screen.
