Hi, just a little bit of confusion here about arb. I have bought rn5 pro from someone and its miui version is 10.3.1 stable which to me is the latest version available now. My question is, is it ok if i want to miflash this device to its current version 10.3.1 with clean all tick? I want to format this phone, unlock bootloader and install custom rom. Another question is, can i install latest xiaomi.eu rom which is version 10.3.1 also? Since its the same version of my current miui. Will it be safe? My last question about arb is, so it is not safe for us to downgrade the phone because of arb is it correct? But as long as its just upgrading the firmware, its just fine? Thank you
Upgrading is ok. For downgrading just make sure, that build you are trying to flash has exactly the same arb level as the one you are currently using

yes miflash will flash the rom as it left from factory. using fastboot rom and miflash to start clean is the way to go. dont need to flash this way all the time only when theres something strange in rom that cant be fixed.
yes you can install xiaomi.EU stable is 10.4 i beleive. for this you will flash in twrp.
downgrade is possible as long as the rom is the same ARB as the phone.
Step One
Turn your phone to fasboot mode
Connect your Redmi Note 5 to PC with USB
Step Two
in PC go to C:\adb\
Push shift + Right Click
select Open Command window here
In CMD write this
fastboot devices
then write
fastboot getvar anti
it should say ARB4 so you can downgrade to any ARB4 rom.

Hi Guys,
I am stucked at fastboot mode afterb trying to flash back to China Rom,how to get out of it?
Thanks in advance.
Mi max 3 anti roll back, you mus flash last version to unbrick your device
1. This is not the right section for this question.
2. if you came from 8.8.23 China Beta you have Anti-rollback, which means that to move to china stable you would have to wait for the next china release and flash it from the updater app and not from fastboot. I know its annoying but its safe. If you are stuck in fastboot try flashing latest 8.8.23 China Beta from mi flasher
3. if you came from 8.8.9 China Beta, Try flashing 8.8.9 again
This happened me too today. My phone arrived with the fake global rom 9.6.4. I was flashing official Chinese rom v9.6.11.0 and got a message saying flash successful, however a window also popped up saying MiFlash stopped working and my phone was stuck on the fastboot screen then.
If you find a solution to this problem I would appreciate it and vice versa.

1- flash and boot to twrp
2- format data then wipe (system and cashes)
3- flash xiaomi.eu 8.8.9 or any release before that and reboot
4- use mi flashtool to flash any stable before 9.6.12 or beta before 8.8.17 and choose wipe all and lock in mi flashtool ( this is very important to unlock it your self later with official permission)

yes, most of the unlocked phones from retailers are unlocked without official authorization and that is the main reason for ADB/fast boot fails in some cases , I have MM1, MM2 and now MM3 and I know this by experience.

hi, you enlighten me so much. can i ask more? now what rom do u use in mi max 3? and why?
So to rectify, I tried to flash the official China ROM V.9.6.11 again. It did not flash properly again the 2nd time.
I then asked it to "flash and lock". Official China ROM flashed now and operating on my phone.
My plan is now to apply to have the phone OFFICIALLY unlocked, as it was obviously unofficially unlocked to put the fake Global ROM on it by the vendor, which caused a problem being stuck in Fastboot.
I do not mind waiting the 2 weeks, and once unlocked I will either put the Xiaomi.EU rom on it, or hopefully the official Global ROM will be released by that time.

You must relock and unlock with official mi permission to avoid fastboot flashing issues.
Where I can download the official rom to use mui flash?
Where i can find an explanation to use mui flash? Cause after lock the boot loader the phone is in bootloop...

What do you actually flash in step 1?
Is step 3 really necessary? Why can't I flash from the fake ROM directly to 9.6.11?
Thanks, man!

in step (1) flash official twrp ( I used minimal adb v1.4.3), step (3) is to have correct firmware and avoid mi flasher fail and boot loop ( many guys try flashing directly from fake rom to China but ended up with bootloops)

Alright, so I am on China stable 9.6.11 with TWRP (not Xiaomi original recovery). When I flashed my latest ROM, I chose "clean all and lock (bootloader)" per your instructions and I applied for offical bootloader unlocking by downloading Xiaomi flash unlocking. I still have 500+ hours, but I was told when my bootloader is unlocked eventually, my user data will be erased again.
So will it be a better idea to flash global stable ROM first or wait for the official bootloader unlocking then flash global stable ROM?
Question: I have China Stable 9.6.12.0 on mine Max3. If I want to install the Global Version should I have to wait for Global Version equal version (9.6.12.0) or later? Os there any suggestion to flash the incoming Global 9.6.7.0 on mine (ARB suposed to be implemented in mine version)?

hello all, if someone can help me, i have my mi max3 with locked bootloader.
now i dont have any rom on it so trying to load a rom but getting an error ERASE is not allowed in locked state
what rom can i flash on it ?
tried to unlock bootloader via the tool, it gets stuck at 50% cannot verify phone.
Okay basically, I am new to this phone. I'm keen to unlock bootloader and flash custom ROMs, but I read some things that I don't really understand. Will I be able to return from a Custom Rom to a stock one, since there is Anti-Rollback? Is it true that some ROMs can relock my bootloader and if so, how can I notice?
If there is a thread with all this kind of answers or if you could answer me here directly I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

1st question is YES. you can return to stock miui. and viceversa. first you need to check your ARB version.
turn off phone and enter fastboot mode. by pressing power vol down.
then connect usb. and open cmd and run this command
fastboot getvar anti
it should say 3 or 4... if you in ARB4 then all you have to do is flash miui 9.5 9.6.4.0 or latest miui 10 stable 1.0
if you wish to stay on ARB3 then flash miui 9.5 9.5.17.0 and miui 10 only cersion 8.7.5 beta.. or learn to flash rom without firmware theres guides.
theres 2 types of roms. recovery and fastboot. recovery rom you can flash using the miui buily in updater using the 3 dots and selecting data package. and theres fastboot rom wich is 2.5GB and its not a zip but format .TGR wich you only need to unzipped. then use mi flash tools this is the best way to go back with a clean installation of rom. like if you have software issues. also in miflash tools in the window at the bottom it has 3 options clean installation. then keep data and CLEAN AND RELOCK thats how you relock you bootloader.
Hi all
My note 5 pro is Global ver, 6gb/64gb. I was on Oreo last ver, just before few days I received notification for Pie, so without a 2nd thought I downloaded and installed that. The Pie ver is stable 10.3.1.0 PEIMIXM and now regretting why I did that. The battery drain is horrible, it drains like crazy, on Oreo my battery used to last at least 2 to 2.5 days whereas this one just dies in 1 day, the usage is less then the previous usage in Oreo.
Now the question is how can I revert back to Oreo from this Pie, if at all possible.
The phone does not have TWRP but the bootloader is Unlocked.
Any help is appreciated.

its been awhile since i have flashed anything on a phone. last time i did it was on my note 4...anyways, i also want to do this since my battery doesn't last long and dual apps for Pokemon Go, isn't working like i had it before.
my bootloader is locked. I know i have to unlock it via MUI website and write the reason i wan to unlock it. how long does it take for them to unlock it?
what should i write to them?
does unlocking the bootloader mean its rooted or do i have to have a custom rom?
also, im confused on what model my phone is. i checked my model name: its M1803E7SH
i checked online and it says that its the redmi note 5 as well as the redmi note 5 pro..so im wondering if this method will work on my phone. pleaaaase help

You dont have to write any reason to unlock bootloader.
visit en.miui.com/unlock page login with your mi account and proceed with unlocking procedure, you may need to wait 360 hours before unlocking bootloader (depending on your mi account activity)
your's is Redmi Note 5/Pro model name WHYRED. you can download Redmi Note 5 Pro ROM package and flash it on your mobile

Have someone already tried this? Downgrading from Miui 11 to Miui 10? Or from some Miui 10 to another version of Miui 10? I've the Redmi 7 Global and my bootloader is locked. I tried downgrading using the built in update app and choosing a previous package but it doesn't let me to do that. I don't know if it's possible by flashing Miui 10 in fastboot, has anyone tried? Fastboot getvar anti gives me =1 and I read somewhere that =1 means there's no problem to downgrade but I'm not sure

Nope Xiaomi restricted downgrading Option via updater app the only option left is fastboot
To anyone,
I just want to know if it's possible to (& how to) downgrade (WITHOUT A PC! aka using just zip file) for my Redmi 7A using the update app\tool on MIUI devices, before I update it... I'll hate to upgrade only to find bugs etc... so it's always good to know how to downgrade jic as I'm very cautious & I've never tried these things. tnx.
I have redmi note 5 pro and I have installed the latest orange fox recovery in it. Please tell me how can i downgrade my miui 11.0.3.0 to miui 10.2.1.0 oreo without bricking my device.
Thanks in advance
I'm not sure (wait for a proper answer) but I think ROMs from MIUI 9.5.19.0 and above are ARB4. I recommend that you flash a fastboot ROM that include the proper firmware for Oreo.
Fastboot ROMs: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/miui/whyred/
yes I recomend fastboot way too, not recovery's
I will like to ask people why recovery downgrading is risky as with custom recovery u can have n number of possibilities

Thanks buddy for ur help, I successfully downgraded to 10.2.1.0.
One more question, what is the minimum ROM version that i can downgrade to (I have ARB 4)?
Now your ARB version is 4.
You can download the offical ROM image package and exract it.
Then open the file called "flash_all.bat". Look for "set CURRENT_ANTI_VER" in this file and look at the ARB version of the package.
If the anti level is 4 , it's safe to downgrade to this version.
If it's below 4, DO NOT flash the ROM or your phone will be bricked.
