Hey guys i just got this with the ULM model and was wondering if anyone had a bootloader unlock for it. also if possible a root
There are rumors of a new bootloader unlock for G710ULM but I haven't tried it myself. If you decide to go for it let us know.
I managed to unlock my bootloader with some help from the telegram group
Yes, there's a new unlock method posted on one of the famous Russian forums. I haven't tried it, but it involves booting once with a rooted boot image, using root and a root adb terminal to overwrite the bootloader with an unlockable one, unlocking the bootloader, and copying the original boot loader back. It seems fairly straightforward, though, as I said, I've not tried it.
Yes, thats a very good explaination of it
Link to the method?

As far as I can tell the method has only been posted in the G7 Telegram group. I think I'm not allowed to link to the group invite, but if you Google for an LG G7 Telegram group you should be able to find it and get access to the group.
This thread is kind of old, but I found this thread before I found the latest and best one, which is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/how-to-bootloader-unlock-g7-thinq-t-t3963568
The answer to OP is YES it is possible to unlock bootloader on ULM and other G7 models, and the instructions are in the thread above ^

After trying several tutorials, i found out that i cannot unlock my bootloader. I thought that my 815p could pass for an 815 but no.
I also looked for specific info on rooting this variant but it seems its not common enough. Can someone direct me?

use the same method as 815 EU. i'm using 815P from south africa and you can root it so easily with the low effort root. choose the 815 EU/international command

I get what you are saying, but all the guides i saw mentioning the 815 EU do the unlocking bootloader step. When i go to the official lg site after getting the info from fastboot, i get a message along the lines of "your model is not supported".
Can you link me to the guide you used, if possible? How did you unlock your bootloader?
Root not bootloader unlock

not unlocking bootloader... your heading says "Need help rooting". you can root the H815P but can not unlock the bootloader. i'll paste the link for the low effort as they came up with it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765
only for Lollipop (android V5)
rooting it is exactly as the H815 EU version.
get the Send_Command files
get the rooted system.img
connect your phone
type in the commands to verify connection
type in the dd commands for H815
your done and phone is rooted and can install all Lollipop ROMS

First off, you do not need to necessarily unlock your bootloader to have root BUT you do need to have an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery in order to flash custom roms.
Check out steadfasterX's thread to unofficially unlock your bootloader here: [UNLOCK][UNOFFICIAL][G4] Unlock **ANY** LG G4 device with UsU
- the caveat is that you must be on or be able to downgrade to MM and have an ARB of 2 or less. Use SALT to ascertain your ARB version and to back up your MM stock rom (important!).
Then read thoroughly (everything, including the FAQ's) and make sure you understand fully the directions in the OP of the UsU unlock thread before proceeding to unlock ... and ... learn to use the Thanks button at the bottom right of the post where an XDA member is trying to help or guide you - it's an XDA courtesy.

You could refer to: Root ANY LG G4 Variant 100% Success Directives | Root Injection | Less Bricks
Use the search function, putting in your phone model, in the thread to get specific relevant posts to find any issues/problems. IMO, I would go the UsU unlock method, if you're able to ... and then root.

No video that I'm aware of. You don't know your network carrier? Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network > Advanced > Access point names (APN's).
You can unlock your bootloader with steadfasterX's UsU method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/unlock-unlock-lg-g4-device-usu-t3760451 ...
I am unsure if I could get help to flash this old device, but anyone cares to help and link me threads on how to unlock and flash G4 H818. Thank you..

The H818 cannot be bootloader unlocked officially. It could be unlocked unofficially with steadfasterX's UsU method ... BUT... you will loose the touch screen function on your phone, rendering it basically useless. So, you are basically out of luck and I wouldn't hold your breath that it will be solved anytime soon, if ever. If you use the search box on the linked UsU thread you will see that this has been asked and answered ad nauseam and you are not alone in this. Unfortunatey, it's one of the only LG G4's suffering from this issue.
No devs are showing any interest in this device, no unlock guide no twrp nothing yet? Is someone working on this or there won't be any support for this device on xda?

If you haven't already, you need to look in the 'guides' forum. There's a topic specifically to unlock the BL, and you'll also have to follow the info when you have a Verizon variant, which you have, because that's the one that doesn't have the OEM unlock in dev settings.
It's not that hard to do. Finding a workable TWRP is more involved. Not so much finding it but getting it installed. Because there is no recovery partition any more, twrp has to be ram-disk injected into the boot partition, that's where it gets more complicated.

Hi again, I got a question.
How can I disable Secure Boot?
I want to install a custom kernel on it.
Thanks!
