Since HTC claims it's a software issue that will be fixed in v4.3
Here's with the HTC built in Camera (I didn't wait very long, but it quickly went from bad to worse once the photo was taken)
http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach...24dacf9/2/2/9/9/7/2/9/2013-10-03_07.39.30.jpg
And here's with the Google Camera apk (the photosphere capable one).
http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach...24dad38/2/2/9/9/7/3/0/2013-10-03_07.39.55.jpg
The problem persists (I waited longer, that's why it looks worse), so whatever "software" issue is going on, it's definitely not contained to just the camera app. it's deeper inside the phone. Unfortunately, this just makes me even more sure that it's a hardware problem.
I think the crop of the picture makes a difference too. I have some examples to share...
This picture was taken with the HTC One camera in it's default camera mode. Not Zoe. You'll notice most of the issue is in the bottom right hand corner.
September 30, 2013 105807 PM EDT by one4thewings, on Flickr
HTC recommended I try third-party apps. Here is one I had gotten from Amazon. CameraZoom FX. You'll notice there is a bit of the blue discoloration in the bottom right.
September 30, 2013 105704 PM EDT by one4thewings, on Flickr
Now this third picture is back to using the HTC Camera.. however, I changed the crop to regular. It's a software setting in the non-Zoe mode. You'll notice that the blue is still there, but it's much less. Mostly, I would imagine, because the part that wants to discolor is off of the screen.
September 30, 2013 105851 PM EDT by one4thewings, on Flickr
Finally, here is a picture taken in Instagram. An even tighter crop and the discoloration is less noticable, but still there. And the out of focus thing is something I've been getting with this too.
September 30, 2013 110222 PM EDT by one4thewings, on Flickr
It's definitely not a situation in which a third party software will fix it. But neither did the 4.3 update if early reports are to be believed.
I know it may be a long shot but 4.3 may fix it. I was on a Droid3 and all of the user had a "blue" tint issue. This issue was visible not matter which Application was used to take pictures. I also part of both SOAK tests, and it is a little fuzzy at this point but one of the OTAs made huge improvements with this issue. It went away totally on my phone. So lets hope HTC can find a fix in the ROM code, and more importantly Verizon does not hold 4.3 hostage for 2 months of testing.
Might this be as simple as the plastic piece that covers the lens? Anyone have the balls to remove it to try?
It just seems odd that when I zoom in (even though the zoom is digital), the issue gets better..
So what do I do? Exchange phone for a new one?
thankfully for all of us on VZW, we're well within the warranty period so getting the phone replaced isn't really a hassle, especially if you go to the corporate store to get the replacement shipped. those guys work commission and will do whatever they need to do to get you out of the door, including sending your replacement without asking a lot of questions and asking you to reset the whole damn phone for nothing

unless you are already s-off from sonic, then it is a big hassle.

I posted yesterday in the forum where someone asked if the camera issue could be solved by heat that I posted a question to the sprint users that received 4.3 to see if the issue was corrected and they said no. It's a little better but still very noticeable. Booooo

Yep. My phone is to be delivered back from Sonic with s-off so I'm stuck with it I guess. I was talking to a guy on here yesterday and he said when he sent his in to be repaired with s-off they charged him £160 to replace the whole board in the phone. F that. I'll just deal with it. We shouldn't have to, especially since htc had several months to correct the issue before our variant launched, but it is what it is. It blows.
I've been jumping through HTC's hoops. Doing the different tasks they've required of me to resolve my camera issues.... finally, I got this answer last night. And I am not amused.
HTC Support said:
In this case, I would like to recommend you to go ahead and for the meantime use the third party camera in order to take the pictures you desire. I understand this is an inconvenience with your device and this will not allow you to use to the fullest the camera application on your device.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced and appreciate your patience as we work quickly to investigate this matter. In some instances, we may be able to deploy a software update to address an issue. We recommend you regularly check your device for updates and download them when available.

Well that's great HTC "support". Basically, "Okay we know there's an issue but don't know the cause and rather than us give you some definitive information on what we plan to do to remedy the problem... Just use another camera app. Bc we couldn't give 2 ****s. Thanks for contacting HTC!"

After a week of this back and forth I finally cracked and responded in a sarcastic manner.
So the fix for my faulty HTC One camera is to use a third-party software that still demonstrates the camera flaw - just to a lesser degree? Perhaps I am asking too much that my one month old phone be right when I purchase it but I'll play along. Could you please recommend a third-party camera application that features the ZOE software? The face swap is nice, I suppose, but it's unnecessary in my case. So pointing me toward an application that can performs ZOE functionality would be appreciated. An added bonus would be an app that auto-corrects the odd tinting issue, but I understand that one might be a pipe dream.
Your assistance is appreciated.
Signed, Me, the customer, the most important part of HTC.

That last part, is something that they've included in all of their customer support emails.

If you talk to them again mention that based on a poll on XDA 85% of HTC One owners have this issue.

I should have looked at this before responding.
This was the latest I got from them:
The option to download a third party app for your camera was to check if you were able to use your camera, not the Zoe feature, without any issue while we work, develop, and deploy the software update to have the issue with your camera resolved. I understand you want to enjoy the full features of your HTC One, like for example Zoe, and that this issue is causing you an inconvenience which is not allowing you to do so and for that I would like to offer my sincere apologies.
I have noticed that as we continue down this road that my tech support guy, Alejandro, is growing less proficient with English. I guess we're moving away from the pre-designed conversation templates.
I replied with this.
So this is a known issue? And a solution is being developed to address the camera issues? I would like additional information about this please.
I'll toss your percentage into my next message, since I'm absolutely certain that we'll not have this resolved in the immediate future and I'm sure not clicking the "I am satisfied with my problem resolution and would like to close my ticket" link.

See the thing about their "while we work to resolve this issue with a software update" is... They didn't resolve it. The 4.3 update for sprint users didn't fix it. So I'll believe htc when we get the update and see it has, in fact, been resolved. I'm not holding my breath though.
I should have done what Sonic did and went back to verizon and had them bring out handset after handset until they got me one without the issue. I just don't have time to mess with Verizon in store for 79 hours. The average trip to verizon for me is roughly 2 hours bc I think some of their associates have severe learning disabilities. I had to show the lady how to do this upgrade on HER computer. She couldn't figure it out. It was ridiculous.
Yeah that's part of my concern too. how many dozens of mailed-warranty-replacements would I have to go thru until I get one that doesn't have the issue
I have recently returned my Find 7a for a refund due to the 'yellow screen' issue and wonder what experience people have had with returning their phones to Oppo.
I find their Customer Service pretty slow to respond, but are generally good when they do. I sent mine back on 23rd May and not heard since, so wonder if anyone has managed to get a replacement, or a refund and if so how long it took?
I also send mine back on 23.5 (from germany), delivered on 27.5.
Yesterday i ask, about the next step.
Today i get this answer from Oppo:
>I would like to inform you that we are now able confirm the arrival of your device.
>However, we regret to let you know that the Find 7a is currently out of stock
> in Midnight, therefore we are unable to send the replacement right away.
>We would like to offer you two options; you may wait for new stock to
>arrive which will take a few weeks, we have the White instock
> or request refund for your order so once
>we have it in stock you can place a new order.
Are you both the original buyers, I've got mine off eBay and device seems to have screen sensitivity problems, misinterpreting between swipes and taps, I'm wondering if they'll replace it?

This was a bug but has been fixed by update 0530. If you haven't got it yet, try changing touch and hold delay to medium or long in accessibility setting. The problem will go away.

No, i have buy it from first purchaser. When i read the warranty right, only the second year of warranty is only for the first purchaser.
My "new" is now in shipping status, but now i read from other that the dont fix the yellow tint display... but iam wait and see when my was arriving.
When it has the same faulty display iam send it back agin and then i want back the money.
I've got touch screen issue it's very annoying. What's yellow tint?
I've had mine for a month but want to return due to touch issues and battery drain, it sucks.

The yellow tint is something that many users are noticing. The bottom portion of the display has a yellow tint to it. Most users that notice the yellow tint say that's it's most noticeable it the bottom left. It seems like most, if not all, phones are affected with the yellow tint to varying degrees. Oppo has stated publicly that it is a backlight issue and that it will be resolved. However users who have received replacement phones are still reporting a yellow tint. As your touch screen and battery issues, those are most likely software related. If you want to know for sure flash Gummy or OmniRom. To test the touch screen go into developer options and check the "Show pointer location" option. Drag your finger all over the screen. If your touch input is lost then the trail will stop and start anew. I would consider waiting to have your unit replaced. People who just got a replacement from a new batch are still reporting display issues. If you can't perceive the yellow tint then you are one of the lucky ones. I sent my back for the yellow tint and my replacement is on it's way back. I will post to this thread when I receive it.
I send back my first device with the yellow tint, the new one (build 19.05.14) comes last week and it was worse then the first one.
The picture is from my first device, please notice that my camera wasnt good enough and in reality it was more visible as you see on the picture
My Oppo find 7a was an ebay buy - and man o man - It had all sorts of troubles - auto-reboots, bluetooth issues, screen sensitivity issues - ghost taps - and yellow screen. I had to file ebay claim to return it.
Is build quality that bad?
I was excited about this phone, but after reading through all the problems in this thread i'm concerned.
Would you guys still recommend this device ?
I absolutely do not recommend this telephone there is nothing that you cannot do with any cyanogen mod enabled devicewhat additionally the quality control has been horrible, save some money and get a note 2 or 3 if you want hd
I can recommend it but agree that main steamer might want to stick to different devices due to the stock experience being quite a bumpy ride for newcomer to the whole flashing scene.
I do not recommend this device becauseeee
1- Compare to the average price i.e. 450 give or take 25 bucks - you can get a T-Mo Note 3 - which is a much more capable device.
2- The quality issues on this device are atrocious.
3- The return experience is unpleasant.
4 - This device is unlikely to get as much support and accessories as Note 3 is. The only thing this device does better is "knock knock" on - which you can simulate with an S-Cover.
I am sorry - the quality of this phone as really turned me off

Simply.wihld liek to know if the Razer from Three has any bloatware at all?
Any downsides from buying a Razer from Three guys?
Apart from a Three logo on boot no there's nothing
I can confirm that too. That's it! ?
I'm running the UK Three build and I've noticed no bloat ware from them at all. Three have their WiFi calling already enabled in the settings and the odd few texts about service and recommended apps it's very clean.
Thanks to you all ?

Can't atm tried to get some from Orzly it went missing in the post and they informed me today they have non left and won't have any stock of them until the end of the week.
I bought some other ones of eBay earlier so have to wait and see if they arrive and good quality, I wouldn't personally pay the £25 razer want for a piece of glass.

Well what I was told today must have been a lie....That company always screens dodgy to me half the time I try to get on their offical site it redirects me to some **** or doesn't work.
The phone is great although I have a problem with build quality on mine (speaker grill is coming away from the phone) and the vibration motor trust me you'll want to shut it off but apart from that it's good. If you're looking for a phone with amazing speakers look no further if you don't care about the speakers look eslewhere i'd say.

Still finding my ground with the phone and OS, I did go and buy the rugged case and razer screen protector but a grain of fluff got trapped during the apply stage to pulled it off in temper breaking the screen protector - they really arent for me.
The phone seems to be fine for general use, the camera isnt amazing but works, the battery is fantastic for on the go and have had no issues with battery life so far.
Performance on 4G and Wifi i havent seen an issue with so generally if i see no problem things are fine.
Generally Happy with the phone spec and performance however in the back of my mind i wish i went with a Google Pixel as I dont like all the issues with updates and have been too use to iOS kinda lifestyle - 1 update rolls out to all devices at once regardless of model and carrier.
Still an Android noob
Is coming with three app what is from play store and another app that I disable it . Don't know what this does . I am presuming for service like wuntu and three app .

@dillalade thanks for that hopefully Razer stick to the word on 2 years worth of updates and their regular enough. Fingers cross Three UK handle these updates in a timely manor too as so many company's involved in updating a OS these days Google > Razor > Three UK.
I really wish that it was more simple like iOS same things just apple dealt with the builds themselves and carriers didn't get the chance to adjust settings for their company services.
Just really like having the power and battery at hand for when its needed and I am not a heavy gamer I have hearthstone and apart from that Netflix and other google apps its pretty clean once i uninstalled the pre install apps from Three UK. Mind you i left the billing and data one as I handy on my old iPhone and actually a reasonable app.

XDA and other reporting one plus will disable the colour filter mode via a update .
I did this video over a week ago before it was widely reported ,since then just about every tech site picked up on this feature with lots of videos showing it .
XDA saying the will have to disable one of the cameras to remove it fully .
If this is correct then surely we have been sold a phone under false pretences
https://www.xda-developers.com/onep...gh-camera-temporarily-disabled-future-update/
"We do appreciate the company addressing these concerns. But, in the same conversation, this also entirely disables the functionality of the color filter camera, which is a hardware component that users are paying for, downgrading the OnePlus 8 Pro from a “quad-camera phone” to a “triple-camera phone” while still burdening it with dead weight in terms of component and cost. OnePlus should have been careful with the features it chooses to integrate into its phones, especially if it requires additional specialized hardware."

I think people are going over the top a bit, the camera does not take x-ray pics, and perverts will not be able to use it for that intention.
I highly doubt that OnePlus will remove the use of the camera because of the ability to see through specific types of plastic, the supposed see through clothes is more bullsh** , only very sheer and thin fabrics can be seen through and it has to be tight for you to even see anything.
But worst case scenario and OP do remove the use of the camera then they will either have a lawsuit against them or someone will open the use of the camera again with root.
omg seriously...
ITS NOT A DAMN X RAY!
You cannot see people naked by using the filter camera.
People need to grow up
the op 8 pro color filter will be disabled in a future update because social media hyped it up like it was a true x-ray magic camera when this is completely wrong.
I want to know what the official stand of OnePlus is on this matter because if that fourth camera sensor gets completely disabled we are losing actual hardware functionally that we paid for, it's like disabling half of the ram and storage space after you sell the phone, yes I know it's not an important feature for most people, but still it's part of the hardware of the phone and part of the price.....
What is next , disabling the zoom of the s20 ultra because you can spy on people from far away? You understand that this is completely ridiculous.

Yep, that's really ridiculous and hard to understand that OP is really disabling this....
Also I'm not sure what this time limited disabling should do, either I have that camera or not...
BTW infrared photography is a well known subject in photo enthusiast communities and without any slippery context whatsoever - so why the fuss at all?! ....
In the end this is sad news for me, I actually liked the infrared look in photos and the fact that my OP8P could do it....

yeah exactly ,and if oneplus do this then everyone has a reason and right to ask for a refund !
Oneplus reacted with a statement, seems as if the camera is going to stay on OOS at least....

It still worries me with the "limiting functionality" bit.
They're only doing this in China from what I have heard. Maybe the chinese government would've stepped in (wouldn't be a surprise at least)

Hey OP, I saw your video on XDA and then I tweeted about it...which led to it circulating heavily among blogs/YouTubers. That's probably where all the views came from, lol. Never expected this issue to blow up like it did!
Is possible to downgrade to have the feature back if I buy a phone with Photochrom feature already disabled?
This is only happening on HydrogenOS (OnePlus phones in China), and they do plan to bring it back as soon as they can figure out how to deal with the issues. So its only temporary.
It should also be known that by disabling this, if you are using HydrogenOS, this will only disable the Photochrom filter since its the only filter that uses that camera.

You can still do lots of videos about it. How to preserve Oxygen OS version, how to downgrade, how to enable back after update...
Well .. I for one am not taking that kind of update if it does come to Oxygen...
Or we will all get a real photochrome camera and start posting pics of us all looking through "BLACK PLASTIC"

I guess it will depend if the update is just the camera.apk or the entire system.
I'm from China and i got a close communication with some of the developers in oneplus. It's really ridiculous that some of the people via media spread the news that the color filter works like an X-ray. Also a lot of female got afraid of it in weibo which I consider nonsense. Most of the oneplus users in China also got shocked and a bit annoyed. However, the filter would not be removed in oxygen OS according to some news. And in Chinese forum, one of the administer says the filter will be reproduced and likely to come back in June.
I was a work with my phone on my desk and when I went to pick it up there a green bar down the right side of the screen. this phone is only 1 week old. i cropped the picture due to not wanting to have faces on the internet lol, but its the whole side.
Looks like the display is broken. Those kinds of lines appear when there's a fault.
That definitely looks like your display has gone bye-bye. I mean you could always try a factory reset, but I highly doubt it will help in any way.
Might be hardware fault, might be drop damage, or something else.
In any case, you need a replacement.

That's good to hear. Nice that it worked out so quickly for you.
I am a bit surprised. Usually Googles support is mediocre and a joke, but I have not yet a single story about the P6 support that was terrible.

Im guessing since this is a company they contract with it may be a little easier. my first 6pro slipped while putting a case on it and it cracked. so this a replacement for that one. i didn't have to go through google for this process. they do have lackluster customer service.

wil do. thank you
make sure it is not a refurbished phone too
The green line thing seems to be a "common" defect on OLED screens. I've seen posts of it happened to Samsung, OnePlus, Apple, and Google devices. It's reported to be an electrical fault so I'd definitely get it replaced.

There are more problems with the variable frequency refresh rate displays in general.
Color rendering/calibration suffers as well. This model though just seems to have display issues a plenty.
Yours was a defective unit that never should've passed QC. WTF?
I recently went with a second new N10+ because the issues with the variable rate displays; poor color rendering is very noticeable to me and for other reasons. Both displays are dead on perfect.
After 2 years of heavy usage I can find no signs of screen degradation on the oldest one. These are solid work horses that look and run great.
The newest isn't necessarily the best candidate...

Get a refund and chill until something good comes along.
The only manufacturer I really hawk is Samsung and this year has been a disaster. It seems it's across the board with most of the manufacturers and not just the displays.
Trying to integrate a functional UI for Android 10, and especially 11 and 12 hasn't helped one bit. Even Google struggles with the mess they engineered.
Lol, how deep will this rabbit hole go?
Developers are estimating 2-3 years to straighten out scoped storage alone. Variable refresh rate has turned into a color calibration* nightmare. Add the mess of 5G implementation* to that mix. Issues aren't isolated but common on all the newer devices it seems. 2021 has sucked for Android, I think 2022 will be just as bad.
My confidence level isn't high... this fubar won't be cleaned up soon.
*Google Android should've put their energy and resources into properly implementing these critical features instead of scoped storage as even Android 9 is secure if used properly.

I use whatever comes in handy... and looks/works well.
The Pixel UI is barren and dysfunction in my opinion. This what a stock N10+ UI homepage can look like.
I'm glad you're having a good experience...
