Anyone having issues when connecting to computer keeps disconnecting and same when im charging the phone any fix for this its annoying and would it be a hardware issue or software issue
Sounds like a hardware issue. Try the obvious stuff - different cable, different port on the computer and if the problem persists then it's likely the port on the phone.
Peace

My Touchscreen Don't work correctly while i connect it with The Computer ...
Any idea?
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
Happens to me as well. No idea why either.
It happened to me when I connected my Defy to the Apple's Greenpoint charger.
So I think maybe there're some problems with your USB port or your data cable.
With some SBFs i dont't have this Problem!
This is magical
I had this problem when I started using the phone. After wiping it vanished.
it happens to me with some chargers but not with others. With original and with other LG no problem, but with another i have that problem too.
I have this issue too with samsung charger. I guess this is feature
I guess the problem from the usb cable it self because i have this problem before when i connect the phone with the original usb, the touch screen works properly but when i used cheap chinees cable then the touch screen become crazy
use advanced task manager it its probably helping in such matters , just end all and restart if any launcher u have already.
I recently acquired a damaged Kindle Fire. (I'll refer to it below as the 'new' one, even though it is, like my others, used.) The obvious damage is to the screen: it has a fan of cracks on it. However, touch fully works, so that is not my problem.
The problem is that, although the USB port works for charging, I have not been able to establish any USB connection with my Mac. I have other KF's which work with the same connection methods that I have tried without success on this new one. This includes using both regular and factory cables. Nothing works to get the computer to see this and when I start with the factory cable this Kindle just boots normally rather than stopping at the bootloader screen.
This new one has the stock ROM, version 6.3.1, and I have not dealt with any stock ROM since last winter, so I might as well be a noob in that regard. There appears to be no way of turning on ADB debugging, but I doubt that would help anyway, since the Mac's System Profiler doesn't see the KF at all, regardless of what I do.
I do notice that the USB port seems a bit loose and that the cable plug end can move from side to side a bit more than it does on other KF's, but holding it steady in various positions doesn't help.
So, I'm wondering if there's anything I can do with the software that might solve the problem or at least let me get fuller use of the KF, including rooting it and loading apps, without opening the device and repairing the USB port.
Suggestions appreciated.
Hey guys, wondering if you've run into a similar problem. I'm on stock 7.0 (with magisk & xposed) 4.49.605.16 Firmware.
My phone will no longer charge or recognize a USB connection when plugged in. No LED indicator. However, I am able to charge the phone if I plug it in and then restart (still no USB connection though... the phone doesn't seem to know it's plugged in, only that it is charging). When I disconnect after the restart the phone then loses the able to charge until I reconnect and reboot. Any ideas?
I've played around with USB debugging settings in Dev Options (some posts suggested toggling setting to 'fix' the issue). No dice.
Rebooted multiple times (with and without xposed enabled).
I'm not convinced that it's a hardware issue seeing as it constantly charges after reboot. I'm not sure if re-flashing anything again would help (and I can't connect to adb!). I've seen some posts on the internet attribute the problem to a flex cable but I don't see how that could cause problem as the phone still retains partial functionality.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
In case anyone is curious or has run into a similar situation, this was most definitely a hardware problem. If your phone charges while off (or when it's turned on while plugged in) but not afterwards, the sister board with the USB and headphone jack has failed (ignore all of the explanations and attempted workarounds seen online). Fortunately, it's an easy fix (especially if you've dug around the inside of the m9 before). The component is about $8.00-$9.00 USD and in theory you don't have to remove the motherboard or battery to replace the bit. I swapped the board and charging and USB connectivity work like before.
i have a problem on my moto Z2play,
the USB on my Moto Z2 Play is not detected on the PC , and then the turbocharge icon is not active when charging the battery,
I have replaced the USB port but the problem remains the same, do you have motoz2play schematic layout? btw thanks for your info and more help
I was having the same problem until yesterday, the usb issue I solved by installing the motorola mobile drivers on my notebook, after reboot it (pc) my cellphone started to be recognized again. The turbo charging issue i'm still testing after performing a factory reset. I let the battery went 0% and the device turn off then when I put it to charge the "turbo charging" icon appeared, but i'll keep an eye on it, to see if it's solved definitely
thanks a lot
thank you for the information and advice, i will try it,
nice to meet you from indonesia,
btw do you have motoz2play schematic?
I had the same issue recently, turns out my USB port was dirty, just use some thin plastic to remove the dust and it shall work like a charm
Stock Pie Sucks
This rom has a lot of bugs...
YES, it won't even recognize the USB connection when connected on the PC.
Any of the custom roms don't have this issue...
EXCEPT that the custom rom experience another problem Stock does not suffer
Instead of the USB problem, they get distorted audio whenever a call is done
It is impossible to understand what people say with that much level of distortion...
Isn't there any ROM that doesn't have any bugs there?
Hey everyone,
The type C port of my phone stopped working sometime ago. It only charges. However no dash charge is available. Also when I connect my phone to my computer there is absolutely 0 data exchange happening it only charges. Also OTG is not working aswell. When I connect a OTG device and turn on OTG, it only gives power to the OTG device however, no data connection is happening.
Before you may ask,
- I tried multiple cables and different different usb ports and devices.
- I bought a brand new official dash charge cable.
- Turned ON/OFF Usb debugging
- Put "Default Usb Configuration" to "File Transfer" (as well as trying other options such as USB tethering etc)
- Booted into recovery and wiped my cache.
- Cleared the cache of MTP, Media library services. (as well as disabling and re-enabling them)
- Went into factory menu and ran factory tests.
- Went into fast boot menu and recovery and tried plugging the cable for some data exchange.
- Then I determined that the port is damaged from endless usage for years, bought a brand new type c port (with flex cable etc) replacement and installed it.
and still... There is absolutely no data connection happening from the type c port. Just slow charging and nothing else.
More info:
The usb started working out of nowhere for a brief time on it's on and then shut off again. Which led me to believe this is rather a software issue than a hardware one.
The Microphone Jack is also not working (as they are on the same board with the usb port).
I am assuming the service or software responsible of activating the data connection when something plugged is just nothing working.
Has anybody experienced something like that? Is there anything that I can try to fix this issue?
The only thing I have not tried is factory reseting the phone and I am not sure if that would fix this issue and I want to do it as a last resort.
I just don't want to give up on my 5T as it's still rock solid except for this issue.
Damn bro. I am facing the exact same issue. Looks like this is end of life for OP5T phones? I had bought mine in 2017/18 can't remember now! Let me know if you are able to fix it anyway
I had the same symptoms and it was caused by a poorly designed ribbon cable inside the phone. The cable always has a little stress on it and over time it will break the connector on the motherboard.
