Hi there,
Just got my desire not too long ago, it's a great phone and I'm since it's my first android phone, I'm trying to get my head around all it's features. One thing I'm currently experiencing is that the power button seems to have not as much of a 'click' as compared to the other buttons (volume rockers, home button, menu buton).
I own an iPod touch and it's power button really feels 'click'ish, but for the Desire, it doesn't seemas much. It's not really a big problem really! I'm just a little worried that the power button might soon lose it's contact or something especially since it's used a lot (setting to standby, waking the phone).
Thanks everyone!
I think it's just because it's set a bit lower to stop you accidentally turning on the screen while it's in your pocket.
Hello and good morning,
I have bought my HTC Desire HD 5 months aggo, and my volume button has been messing me up alot. I didnt care at first cause it would sometimes just ignore my press on button +/- and sometimes it would work. But now it's rly annoying, I have to push button so hard just to increase or decrease volume of my HTC.
So my question is:
- Is it a bigger hardware problem or just the plastic button?
- how long would i aprox be out of phone if i take it to warranity (got 2 year)?
- has anyone had this problem before and solved it?
p.s the phone has never hit ground, no repairs, no roots. nothing. same as it came from factory.
Well, first of all I'm sorry for my English it is not the best but I hope you can understand me.
Well, I'm up to buy a Lumia 900, but I was checking it for 4 days (Saturday,Sunday, Monday & today), first 3 days it was all ok, but today the phone repently stopped working.
I was driving when my phone starterd ringing, I get it out of my pocket in order to answer, so I tried to slide it up then clic on answer, but when I tried to slide it up the touchscreen just stopped of working.
Since that, I've tried to go to the home but I can't because I need to slide up.
I think it's important to mention that all other buttons (camera, vol +, vol -, block) are still working, but the screen stays on my background without showing me the clock, and all stuff like that.
All I want to do is to reboot the phone, I've thinked on remove the battery of the phone, but the cellphone is one piece so i cant.
I was thinking to wait till baterry gets drained but ill will take a lot of time..
So.. any recommendation?
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds - this will forcibly shut it down.

I refurbished my phone, now it is working. When it was sick, I tried the same that you said me, but it didn't work
Hi there,
I bout a G3 beat for my sister a year ago, it had no problems back then but it's been about 3 month now that the screen wont wake up after pressing power button or double tapping on the screen itself... really, it randomly wakes by doing so, rarely I must say.
She thinks it is probably due to a failure of hardware, you know, because she'd dropped the phone several times, but I think maybe there something wrong with the software, you know, because its not only the power button that's not working, double tap does not work neither...
Bye the way volume rockers have got some issues too, cant seem to change volume until you press them several times.
So, what do you think guys? Is is the hardware, or the software?
I've got myself a Samsung A70. and after researching for ages how to do a screen shot or what ever the new name for it is.
I find out how to do this, you have to hold the power button then press the volume button, which then turns the volume up, 2nd attempt turns the volume down, 3rd attempt you try move your hands differently and you get a screen shot, of a different page you accidentally clicked on whilst trying to screen shot, then next attempt, I think I've got it, NO I don't want to turn the phone off, grrr. But eventually when you do get a screen shot, it has the volume change across the top.
Does anyone know how to alter the screen shot to the normal power button, the the central button on the bottom?

Mine doesn't work that way:
I press and hold the power button (no more than a 1 /2 second - you don't want the phone to display the power/restart options) then almost immediately press the VOLUME DOWN key for a 1/2 of a second at most (still holding the power button) and release the volume DOWN button - screenshot should be taken (screen shrinks/comes back). Release all buttons now of course.
Hope it works, let all know if it does.

You put your whole thumb on the power button and the vol down button and you click both of them at the same time.
Easier to click the buttons than swipe your hand across the screen.

Yep that's practically how every Samsung device works, infact every device I've owned, so it seems the issue is simply pilot error.
You can even do the same thing in TWRP.
What is TWRP.
I've had loads of other Samsung's phones been the power button and the main enter button on the bottom.
I've tried doing one first then the other and I get the power turn off option.
But them both with my thumb seems to work most of the time, cheers for that. I think the phone case I have causes me some problems, but both with my thumb seems to work for the last few mins that I've tried thanks.

You could always turn to the dark side and say "Hey Google, take a screenshot" LOL
Just press and hold both at the same time. If you are finding that awkward using your right thumb then use your index and middle finger on your left hand.
