Hey, I have Galaxy A5 2017.
The phone works but i cant wipe it,. I cant enter bootloader holdings key combinations.
USB Debugging is gray, cant enable it, OEM Unlock too...
When i enter recovery it says that Android is updateing, after it recover is visible but say that
E:Failded to celar BCD message: failed to find /misc partition..
I can use Apply update from ADB
Can I do something about it?

The error in the recovery is normal I think. If I were you, I would clean flash from Odin. Hold power + home + volume down button to get into download mode.

You know the phone needs to be powered off before doing booting into download mode? And the option from recovery doesn't work on any Samsung because we dont have bootloader mode, just download mode.

Hello,
I just decided to start modding my phone and I found this rom which looks awesome: miuiaustralia.com (Sorry for no link but I can't post links yet -.-)
So I downloaded everything, got flashtool and stuff and followed the instructions.
First I installed an .ftf file and then I restarted my flashtool as it told me to in the instructions, unplugged it and put it in again but this time holding the search button to go into fastboot mode.
So when i opened my flashtool it said that my device was connected in flash mode but the light on my led was blue and not green as it's supposed to be, so I was wondering what's wrong, why can't I enter fastboot? I tried to put it in several more times with the search button and still no sucess.
Do I need an unlocked bootloader to enter fastboot? Cause when I try to unlock my bootloader in flashtool it first needs to be connected in flash mode, and then it needs to be reconnected in fastboot mode so I can't unlock the bootloader either! Please help me!
Also if it would make some difference I'm running flashtool on a mac if it makes any difference, flashtool itself works as I've managed to do .ftf changes before but I've never tried to change the boot.img

Do you mean I should press reboot device into fastboot? Cause there is no such thing as connect phone in fastboot mode :/
When I do the reboot thing I can only press the "Reboot into fastboot mode (via adb) and when I do this the same thing happens, it turns on the blue light but still flashtool says : INFO - Device connected in flash mode

Okay so I've attached some pics of how my flashtool looks, also I know there's an update but it's minor and I don't think it would matter, my update is 3 days old...
The pics are in the right order, there's no boot in fastboot :/
Also I'll check with the drivers, not so sure how to download them if I need as I'm on a mac.
Yep also you need to unlock your bootloader you can't flash a kernal on a locked bootloader! If you want to do that there are plenty of tutorials about for that.

As for the problem, does your N7 have a custom recovery installed?
If yes, just boot into recovery, plug it into your PC and ADB sideload a ROM from your PC onto your N7. How you can do an ADB sideload depends on what custom recovery you have, and can be found on the web if you search.
If no, just install one ASAP and do the rest

You can open a command window on the platform tools folder inside the android SDK (here) http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html by holding shift on it and right clicking. Click open new command window here. Go into fastboot mode on your tablet. There is a command to flash a .img which is fastboot flash (or fastboot boot if you do not want to flash) then after fastboot flash or boot you put the name of your recovery followed by .IMG (it has to be a .IMG file) the recovery needs to be in the platform tools folder for this to work. From your recovery you can flash an image but it needs to be on the internal SD(so this probably won't work)

This saved my Nexus 7 2013. It would not boot, I could not flash, format, copy anything, etc. The dreaded spinning Google symbol. It would give me errors when trying to flash. I tried TWRP and CWM, nothing would flash. I ran the Dead_Nexus7.bat file from the link below and my Nexus worked. It was like magic bringing it back from the dead. I am assuming the problem occurred when unlocking the device. It froze for a minute or two, until I started tapping on it.

Hmmm. You actually don't need an unlocked bootloader to flash a recovery so just run the fastboot boot or fastboot flash

Cleaning cache in ZenFone 2 takes a lot of time, it's normal. To recover your phone you have to attach it on a PC in fastboot mode and perform the "fastboot erase cache" command. Happened the same to me some weeks ago.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using XDA Free mobile app
If possible, reboot to bootloader, and type in the following command in fastboot:
fastboot erase cache
That should fix your problem.

When the flashing android icon happens, you have to press and hold the power button, and then press the up button. That should allow you to access the menu. Select reboot bootloader, and then type in the fastboot command at fastboot.

If that fails, press and hold the power button until the device shuts off. Turn on the device by pressing Up+Power until you feel it buzzing. Depress the power button while still holding the power button, and you should boot into the bootloader.

1- force your phone to shut down
2- press the volume up button with the power button
3- when the phone vibrate leave the power button and continue holding the volume up button
4-by this you will be entering the fastboot mode
5- by the flashtool at your computer you can start a command prompt and do any command to your phone , either you flash or wipe the cache it's depend on your phone situation because every thing has different command
what did u do actually to your phone? after get into bootloader, is it when u reboot, it reboot normally?
It's amaizing that at one week ago, I had the same problem. I sent pictures to Asus support and the answer was send the phone to Asus facilities.
Well, I discovered this procedure, figuring out the possibilites to fix the bug and dicovered the fastboot command. Well, after that I reply to Asus support and I told them that their support was to poor. But, I forgave them, because this phone doesn't exist in Portugal, at the moment, unless we buy in internet, out of country. So, the Asus Portugal answered me, but they don't know this phone, officialy, and the, consequently, the support is bad.

You've posted in 4 or 5 different threads, which makes it very hard to follow or help.
The phone was dropped, and stopped working. You now have broken hardware. Dinking around with the software/firmware isn't going to fix anything.

You mean an RUU? You can only flash an RUU that is intended for your CID,MID (dual SIM M8).
You also need to have a locked or relocked bootloader to run RUU (unless you have s-off).

I have no idea what that means "shortening circuit"?
Replacing the motherboard may be an option. But unless you are very experienced with this type of thing, and know exactly what you are doing, you should have it done professionally. Folks will frequently break something else while trying to replace the mobo, or come up with errors/issues they can't resolve.

I found a guide show how to unbrick in the situation, but after booting and stuck at logo, my phone disconect USB cable and i cannot do anything
Please help
Same problem here, have you found a solution yet?
Same deal... any help would be appreciated. Can't seem to get to Fastboot or Recovery. I can get it to charge, and I can get it to hook up to PC and see MOOREFIELD in Device Manager with no driver, sometime for the Intel SOC stuff.
Code:
Flash temporary recovery.
Via xFSTK. helped me many times when I hard bricked my phone.
Use Asus flash tool to upload the raw file via fastboot.
Once upload you could enter recovery. And you'll see an "error" by holding volume up and power and quickly release the volume up. You'll be brought to The recovery menu (do this when you see an error occurred)
Now you'll see the option flash via adb.
Flash the full stock rom again via adb sideload.
You'll be on track back
Don't worry you won't lose your apps and files.
Bootloader gets locked and unroot.
You know what to do next mate.
Follow the link provided below.
P.s after flashing the raw file... You could only enter fastboot and you'll have endless loading on boot screen if you didn't enter fastboot. Your OS won't load until you flash stock rom via adb sideload.

I have tried that method but that did not work, because after booting up and stuck at logo my phone just disconnect USB and my computer cannot detect it
Looks like I have the same problem. Stuck with splashscreen without access to fastboot . Did anyone successfully fix this problem ?
