I'm beggining to find desperation, please help
so my kindle was full of crappy apps (mybad) so i tried to restore it to factory defaults as i had done it before through the Android settings, as usual but, when it was supposed to start up again it just got stuck on TWRP and I've tried fastboot, I've tried normal boot through all means but it just stucks up on the kindle logo, quite disappointing, when I use ADB to fastboot or normalboot, i get this error:
-exec ' /system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -
also the ADB status refers to online and an unknown bootmode, but in one of the many methods I've tried, i saw a bootmode that read 0x5001 which was really weird for me to read but anyway, i'd thank you for your differential diagnosis and treatment
PLEASEE!!!!!
PD: i tried ubuntu with the firekit but the file "fk", it just won't open on the terminal, it even crashes opening as text
Alright, I think I might be able to help with this. Download kindle fire update.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200790620#download
Boot into twrp, and go to to mount. Plug in Kindle fire to your computer. Select mount usb storage. Rename the file to update.zip, move it to your kindle fire. Select un-mount, Then go to home in twrp. Then, wipe factory reset, dalvik cache, cache, and system. Then, go and flash the zip. After that is done, reboot system. You should then be ok.
Good luck
didnt work
okay, i did it.. and it seemed like it was over but then.. when it was supposed to start, it said... battery is too low.. so i left it charging and when it wanted to boot it got stuck again on kindle logo, and now i cannot even boot on recovery
any thoughts?
This seems very weird. Give the KF a full charge. When is is done charging power it up and plug it in to your computer. Use KFU to set boot mode as recovery. Then re-flash the update. Or, you might try going to wipe and selecting factory reset
---------- Post added at 09:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:15 PM ----------
You might find that Twrp was un-installed. If it was, Use KFU to re-install it.
bigger problem!! TWRP wont install... am I dead?
No hows your battery?

Firekit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430038
Are you able to connect your KF via adb?
Why don't you try this repair kit.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430038
Or this and use fastboot to flash twrp just dont fastboot flash a zip to your bootloader or you will have a seroius brick. Bin format only for fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1670405
Or, you could take a different approach, the amazon update that you flashed before might have partly worked. If you did not see twrp when you booted up kf, then your at stock. You can return it to amazon and get full refund. They will never know you rooted it.
Just a thought let it charge via usb for a few hours and then hold the power button for a minute or so to be assured it is powered off then power it up.

Sounds like you have firekit put on your usb incorrectly
---------- Post added at 08:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:47 PM ----------
You extract the file to the head of the usb there is only one file inside of the zip folder I believe its firekit.sh
If you have it correctly placed the command in the op will launch it and you need to be connected to the internet for some of the options to work in case there is any fetching of files from the net. I can almost guarantee the trouble your having with firekit is one of two things not applied to the USB correctly or your launching it wrong. Open a terminal and type sudo /cdrom/fk this will give you a great list of commands in the terminal simply copy and paste your chosen command do the short trick keep it shorted and plug it in after it says waiting for device you'll know when you got it right
nothing is working
Please! HELP Nothing is working!! are there any very specific steps on the ubuntu installation_ because i get stuck on the SDK installation.. it says it failed doing something!!.. this is really disappointing.. plus.. i live outside the US .. and retrieving it is not an option .. please give me some ideas because im out of them!
thank you!!
Sent you a pm also I believe you have firekit applied incorrectly I will assist if you wish
---------- Post added at 03:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:44 PM ----------
Could just be a matter of reseting your bootmode and getting you to recovery where you can do a fresh flash
HELPPPP
PLEASE HELP!!
firekit sends an error... the same that kfu does... and andab.sh is also not working.. im on ubuntu finnally but i can't unbrick im desperate .. please help.. there has got to be a way of like reconstructing the kindles firmware!! im begging
Hello,
I just decided to start modding my phone and I found this rom which looks awesome: miuiaustralia.com (Sorry for no link but I can't post links yet -.-)
So I downloaded everything, got flashtool and stuff and followed the instructions.
First I installed an .ftf file and then I restarted my flashtool as it told me to in the instructions, unplugged it and put it in again but this time holding the search button to go into fastboot mode.
So when i opened my flashtool it said that my device was connected in flash mode but the light on my led was blue and not green as it's supposed to be, so I was wondering what's wrong, why can't I enter fastboot? I tried to put it in several more times with the search button and still no sucess.
Do I need an unlocked bootloader to enter fastboot? Cause when I try to unlock my bootloader in flashtool it first needs to be connected in flash mode, and then it needs to be reconnected in fastboot mode so I can't unlock the bootloader either! Please help me!
Also if it would make some difference I'm running flashtool on a mac if it makes any difference, flashtool itself works as I've managed to do .ftf changes before but I've never tried to change the boot.img

Do you mean I should press reboot device into fastboot? Cause there is no such thing as connect phone in fastboot mode :/
When I do the reboot thing I can only press the "Reboot into fastboot mode (via adb) and when I do this the same thing happens, it turns on the blue light but still flashtool says : INFO - Device connected in flash mode

Okay so I've attached some pics of how my flashtool looks, also I know there's an update but it's minor and I don't think it would matter, my update is 3 days old...
The pics are in the right order, there's no boot in fastboot :/
Also I'll check with the drivers, not so sure how to download them if I need as I'm on a mac.
Yep also you need to unlock your bootloader you can't flash a kernal on a locked bootloader! If you want to do that there are plenty of tutorials about for that.

As for the problem, does your N7 have a custom recovery installed?
If yes, just boot into recovery, plug it into your PC and ADB sideload a ROM from your PC onto your N7. How you can do an ADB sideload depends on what custom recovery you have, and can be found on the web if you search.
If no, just install one ASAP and do the rest

You can open a command window on the platform tools folder inside the android SDK (here) http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html by holding shift on it and right clicking. Click open new command window here. Go into fastboot mode on your tablet. There is a command to flash a .img which is fastboot flash (or fastboot boot if you do not want to flash) then after fastboot flash or boot you put the name of your recovery followed by .IMG (it has to be a .IMG file) the recovery needs to be in the platform tools folder for this to work. From your recovery you can flash an image but it needs to be on the internal SD(so this probably won't work)

This saved my Nexus 7 2013. It would not boot, I could not flash, format, copy anything, etc. The dreaded spinning Google symbol. It would give me errors when trying to flash. I tried TWRP and CWM, nothing would flash. I ran the Dead_Nexus7.bat file from the link below and my Nexus worked. It was like magic bringing it back from the dead. I am assuming the problem occurred when unlocking the device. It froze for a minute or two, until I started tapping on it.

Hmmm. You actually don't need an unlocked bootloader to flash a recovery so just run the fastboot boot or fastboot flash

All, I have an Unlocked, S-Off, Rooted HTC One M8 w/ Verizon that I was running Cyanogenmod 12.1, their latest snapshot.
Today the screen was black w/ the notification light blinking as I had a message. I couldn't get the screen to come on. I held in power + volume up until the phone rebooted. It rebooted to the boot loader. I told it to reboot & when it did the HTC splash screen didnt have the normal warnings that I'm used to seeing; warning something about developer options maybe; I can't remember. Anyways it just keeps booting to the bootloader & when I try to boot to recovery; it just reboots back into the bootloader. I've tried to flash to the lastest version of twrp via ADB on my pc, the flash is successful; but doesn't work when i try.
I've also ran...
fastboot erase cache
as i found that suggestion online.
Nothing is working for me. Any suggestions?
Thanks

No luck. Even though I can run fastboot commands, the RUU exe package reboots the phone, then eventually fails at waiting for bootloader, even though the bootloader is ready. I get error 171 USB Connection Error, from the RUU exe on my pc.

Ran the RUU by renaming it & putting on an SD card, option 1. That worked and had the same two bypasses as before.

Still up, wanted to give you time to respond.
I can't get the RUU update to run from pc, so it looks like this could be a dead end for me. Thank you again for trying.
I hate to get a new phone, none of the new Verizon phones can be rooted or an unlocked bootloader.

Looked back at the error you were getting trying to flash ruu with pc.
I'm not going to try to tell you to do the sdcard method because that did not work for me.
Here is a link that worked for some, even though this is not for the htc m8.
Think you may need to uninstall htc manager & clean with cc cleaner & reinstall.
Also try re downloading ruu incase it got corrupt.

Same results from another pc (which had previously installed HTC drivers) I am now trying the suggestions from the last link you provided w/ uninstalling HTC software/drivers & running cc cleaner program.

Don't forget to uninstall htc sync before doing anything with ruu, it may interfere, the drivers remain behind.
What about the usb cable you are using, is it a data cable that came with m8 or spare that mainly used for charging.

Still not working.
Followed all the instructions, re-downloaded the RUU. I've uninstalled the HTC sync & drivers; ran cc cleaner, rebooted, reinstalled HTC snyc & drivers.
I've even tried this on two different Windows 7 pc's. One I left the HTC Sync on, the other I uninstalled & just left the HTC drivers behind. (as one person suggested)
Should the RUU installer app say updated to version & then it instead of a version it list odd characters that I dont even know how to type on a keyboard?
I think I've got my first true brick.

Using a different cable, I get the same problem.
I dont think its the cable, because the RUU can read the current version of firmware thats on the phone, then issues the phone to reboot. Then the RUU app just sits & says waiting for bootloader.

Option 3
Fastboot RUU mode . This method assumes you have a working ADB/Fastboot directory on your PC. Download RUUish file and place in your working fastboot/adb directory. Boot your phone to fastboot mode and connect to PC. Issue the following commands.
fastboot oem rebootRUU
###while in this mode your phone will display an HTC logo on the screen
fastboot flash zip 0P6BIMG.zip
##while in this mode you will see an HTC logo on the screen and a green status bar across the bottom of the screen. When command output ##completes it may say reboot required to flush etc... if that's the case issue a "fastboot reboot-bootloader" command and restart option 1 again.
example
## assuming flash completes and no further flushing/reboots are requested from the cmd output you can now reboot IF you simply wish to reboot the system you can issue "fastboot reboot" which will reboot system.
## expect a good 5 minute plus first boot!

If that fails go here to reinstall firmware 1st (4.17.605.5):

I get the following when I attempt to flash using this method...
C:\adb>fastboot flash zip 0P6BIMG.zip
target reported max download size of 1826414592 bytes
sending 'zip' (1683272 KB)...
OKAY [ 63.976s]
writing 'zip'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 63.991s
My phone also doesnt do what is described by staying at an HTC splash screen; it just boots right to the bootloader like it always does.
I've seen that remote: not allowed trying some of my own method during this whole process; not sure what that means.
First i give 1 solution who can not go to boot loader 100 % working.
only if you have not done anything to bootloader.
connect usb to laptop.
then press power first + vol down then after 1 sec connect usb to mobile. bootloader will come up.
my problem now :
sorry for bad english.
i have htc m8 dual sim.
it got fallen from me. then it stopped running.
then i searched .then i cam came to found that i can goto bootloader. i did but i cant goto recovery,or factory reset. then i open check crc image all was ok. but sbl2 and sbl3 was 0X0.
then i unlock the bootloaer.
then i tried to flash rom via fastboot which i had access but unsuccess(remote signature verfiy fail.)
in another post i flash the twrp recovery but red text came. then in another post i found that
first flash the recovery. then boot the recovery.
i did like this,
htc_fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
then
htc_fastboot boot twrp.img
htc_fastboot reboot
that was tha last thing i do. after this my phone did respond.
not boot up.
black screen.
led dont turn on.
did all the combination that worked before this. not work now.

can i force to qhusb load 9008. or 9006 like lg g2 ?
is there any solution of this ?
i have also opened the motherboard... i will also go for hardware shortening circiut or anything like this...
You've posted in 4 or 5 different threads, which makes it very hard to follow or help.
The phone was dropped, and stopped working. You now have broken hardware. Dinking around with the software/firmware isn't going to fix anything.

You mean an RUU? You can only flash an RUU that is intended for your CID,MID (dual SIM M8).
You also need to have a locked or relocked bootloader to run RUU (unless you have s-off).

Red text is normal after unlocking bootloader and flashing a custom recovery.

I have no idea what that means "shortening circuit"?
Replacing the motherboard may be an option. But unless you are very experienced with this type of thing, and know exactly what you are doing, you should have it done professionally. Folks will frequently break something else while trying to replace the mobo, or come up with errors/issues they can't resolve.
