Headset/Bluetooth Volume - Wileyfox Swift

I have noticed when trying to listen to Podcasts in the car, that it is difficult to get the volume loud enough when travelling at motorway speeds. With the phone volume at full, and the car stereo volume at full, I still have problems hearing quite a few of the podcasts that I download.
I tried various podcast players that claimed to boost the volume, none of them helped enough. So I looked around and found a mod for the Swift-2 that updated a handful of files from recovery, thanks linuxct (mod-marmite-audio-mod-increase). Took a look in the Swift, found the one file that needed changing, and after some experimentation came up with this, which seems to work for me.
I've never had a problem with Music, and this will make music very loud, so turn down quickly if switching from one to another!
Let me know if this helps, or not, suspect that the intersection of people still with a Wileyfox Swift 1, listening to podcasts in the car at 70mph is probably fairly small, but hopefully it'll help someone!

[Q] Motorola S9-HD problems..

Hi, I'm having issues with my brand new, just bought today Motorola S9HD bluetooth headphones. I am having three issues so far:
First Issue: The headphones seem to work with the Google Music player (stock, but newest version via market), but I cannot use seek controls, play/pause.
FIRST ISSUE SOLVED BY REMOVING WP7 MUSIC PLAYER AND ONLY HAVING STOCK ON THE DEVICE.
Second Issue: While I'm listening to music, I sometimes want to make a quick call. I assume with these I should be able to hit the call button, which goes to voice commands, then I say who I want to call, and boom, done. BUT! whenever the screen is off and I'm listening to music, then click the call button, it gives me three or so beeps but never quits playing music and never goes to voice commands. THE ANNOYING SOLUTION THAT I FOUND: When I turn on the screen, I am able to click the call button and go into voice commands, call whoever, etc.
SECOND ISSUE NOT SOLVED EVEN AFTER SWITCHING TO STOCK GOOGLE MUSIC PLAYER.
Third Issue: For some reason, I will get a random space (0.5 seconds to 1 second) randomly of no music, then it resumes. BUT sometimes it just all together stops playing music. I have left it for a couple minutes to see if it'll resume, but it doesn't. Then I look at the phone and it says it's still working, and the only way to make it play music through the headphones again is to restart bluetooth via the phone.
THIRD ISSUE POSSIBLY SOLVED BY USING STOCK GOOGLE MUSIC PLAYER INSTEAD OF WP7 MUSIC PLAYER. BUT SUGGESTIONS ARE STILL WELCOME.
Thanks for all your help!
2nd issue: did you tell it the first time what voice control you want to use? Like Vlingo, google voice, google search, etc.
3rd issue: no clue, mine does that too and it is annoying. I notice it gets worse if the battery is 2 or so hours without a charge.
Thanks for the reply. I'll try assigning the voice commands app.

muy issue with my Moto S(HD is that I continually have to re-pair every time I try to use them. anyone know why?
Regarding item #3, I think this is more related to the bluetooth stack on the Atrix crashing than it is related to the S9HDs. I don't have that problem with my S9HDs, but I routinely get it when paired to my car stereo. Probably happens once a week with my car stereo, whereas I've only seen it once in several months with my S9HDs. I'm hoping the bluetooth stack has been improved when we get gingerbread shortly.
I've a nokia BH503 BT headset ATM and never had those issues. It works with EVERY app on the phone, even the emulators, games and notifications sounds through the bluetooth headphones. I luv it.
Before my motorola atrix I used a Blackberry Storm + motorola S9HD BT headphones, and had exactly the same issues u report...
I have the S9HDs and I get pauses too. The thing that frustrates me is that it depends on where I have my phone. I have a jacket in wear when I bike ride that has a pocket on the inside. If I put the phone in there it constantly pauses. If I put my phone in my pants pocket it doesn't pause at all.
It seems like an easy solution, keep the phone in my pants pocket, but I wear workout type pants when riding and they are not deep pockets so I'm afraid the phone will fall out. It just doesn't make sense that the farther I put the phone from the headphones the better it works.

I use these, and play music with PlayerPro............have no issues. Don't call often with the headphones, but have not had problems with them there either.
I routinely have my phone in my pants pocket while I walk around the office listening to music, and never lose my connection.
Not much help I know, but there are I guess some of us who don't experience bluetooth issues.
I installed playerpro, and I'm liking it so far.

S9 HD's reception is really bad. And I tell you cuz I had those. I mean, u can´t use the phone on your pants' pocket without lil skips... Nokias' reception rocks, and the battery last longer.
The problem with the s9 hd cutting out is reception. I have been using this headset for about 2 years while riding my motorcycle, with three different phones. They all had the same problem. With phone in my front pants pocket the problem persists. With phone in my shirt pocket, or in a backpack behind me, it never cuts out.

[Q] Bad music sound quality on Desire via headset

Hi all,
I really enjoy listening to music a lot, and wanted to use my Desire as a MP3 player, so I don't have to drag my iPod around as well.
Now - I get _really_ disappointed with the quality of sound that comes out of that phone.
Be it net radio, last.fm or flac music on the SD card, I hear a lot of interference from the WLAN and 2g/3g network on the headphones (you know. bssssss / dak-a-dak-a-dak, brrrrr, depending on which connection I am on). Not very loud, but very disturbing if you are listening to low-volume music.
Do you suffer from the same problem? Did anyone find a solution to this?
(I found a few similar posts, but none really matching as they cover speaker/BT headsets)
I use my Desire to play mp3 and to listen FM and streaming radio and I've never heart any interference.
Maybe it's another device what is causing the noise?
I also use my phone to listen to music / podcast and never noticed any interferences.
Did you check your headset cable (I've noticed it's the biggest unwanted noise generator when listening to music on the go) ?
Well - partly it is indeed my headset cable.
Although I am using Sennheiser cx150, which sound quality is really good in my opinion, it seems that the cable is very poorly shielded.
So I tried with various other earphones, and the interference is less. Still not gone, which still annoys me, but less.
Oh well, i gonna spend another bunch of money for new headphones until I get a new phone :-(
Thanks, all.

Problems with Equalizer

Hi,
most of the time, I'm using my phone for listening to music, and since I own Galaxy S4 Mini (GT-I9195), I'm thinking about throwing my 320€ worth smartphone in trash. Mostly I'm listening to rock music where basses are very important. When I was using stock firmware, everytime I increased the bass level, the music volume diminished. It came so far, that when I was traveling from work to home by bus, I could hear what people around me were talking to, even though my volume level was on 100%. Then I somehow increased the volume of my phone (I found a thread how to do that here on xda), but then the next problem became annoying. Almost every time I skipped the song, the equalizer settings went back to default. So every time i had to press menu button --> settings --> equalizer, and then basses went back to normal. Sometimes equalizer doesn't work at all, until I reboot my phone.
So I tried with Cyanogenmod today, and I'm even more disappointed with music quality. Every time I try to turn on bass boost, the music starts to crackle, even though bass level is only on slight. I'm using 120€ worth Sony headphones, which work great on any other device, so the problem definitely isn't in headphones.
Does anyone deal with the same problem? I just don't know what to do anymore ...
Thanks in advance & sorry for bad English.

Hello there.
First off, if you are going to throw S4 mini into trash, you can instead send it to me and I'll pay for the delivery, as I simply love the phone.
Secondly, I think the problem is you and not the phone. I have S4 mini and I love listening to music. As anyone who loves music (proffesionaly or unproffesionaly) knows, basses ARE NOT THE ONLY (and most) important thing, even in rock music. And as far as basses goes S4 mini does a very good job, as it does in other spectrums of music playback. The volume decreases a bit if you set it to bass, because the equalizer decreases the treble value, thus you get the perception of decreased laudnes. Although I would recommend you get your hearing checked, as the laudness of S4 mini seems to be laud enough for others.
If you really like to listen to high quality music and are a true audiophile, than you wouln't be listening to the music on S4 mini on the first place, but would go for a high quality professional grade mp3 (or FLAC) player with an external amplifier.
Therefore I conclude that you are just a bass freak who wants to complain, but please feel free to prove me wrong.
My opinion and advice may not matter since I don't own a s4 mini (would love to have it)
But did you tried sound alive from Samsung?
Just increase the bass and some clarity then reverb and room size (if you like) then the bass is on a good level, wanting more bass than that would only get in the way of the guitars part!!
Or try viper4android if you're on a desperate situation...
Can I ask something here?? Is the smart volume feature any good??
@Shiningb
Firstly, thanks for your answer. I realized that everything works perfectly with stock Samsung Music app (which doesn't use build-in equalizer, but uses it's own one). The quality of sound is really great.
Only problem is that I prefer Google Play Music which is much clearer, easyer to navigate and overall has nicer interface. But there I deal with equalizer problem; the sound is great at the moment, the equalizer is set the way I want, basses are great, but then suddenly (without particual reason) equalizer just goes flat and the volume increases for about 30% rapidly which is a great way to go deaf. Then I have to restart equalizer app, and it starts working normally again for about next 10 minutes. Until I won't find the solution, I have to use stock music app, ok, i can get along with this
I googled about the issue and I found that it is quite common with S4 users. I heard about ViPER4Android today, and I'm going to try it right now, thaniks for your advice !
And sorry, I don't know if smart volume feature works good, I use mp3gain app on my PC which equalizes volumes of all tracks on the same level and works perfectly.

This happens with equalizer because the system kills it from the ram
So a great solution is to use viper...
But you need root and put the apk of viper into system/app set permissions to rw-r-r
Like this it won't be killed, because it will make part of the system app
By the way what kind of music do you hear??
I'm a sound freak with viper, I tunr things like crazy until I reach the perfect sound (for a time!)
I really wanted to know how the smart volume works since the I9070 won't have a official 4.2.2 update :'(
Thanks for fast answer.
I installed ViPER4Android, but everything I try to change, doesn't have any effect on sound. I don't know what is wrong ...
Could you help me with Viper? I know how to put a file in system/app and set permissions.
My phone is rooted I'm using CWM and stock android from Samsung.
My favorite artists are 30 Seconds to Mars, Billy Idol, Bring me the Horizon, Foo Fighters, HIM, Kings of Leon, Oasis, RHCP, etc.
Sry, probably really won't. I owned I9000 before I9195 and it was the best phone i ever had, even better with Cyanogenmod

[Q] Voyager Legend headset doesn't restart Audible after phone call

I've been using a Voyager HD Pro for a few years, and I've been very happy with it, even listening to tons of audiobooks with it.
Unfortunately, one day I left it out of its case and the dog ate it to bits, so I had to get a new Voyager Legend instead. Very happy with Legend too, better interface, better sound and better battery.
However, when listening to audio books with Audible, whenever I get a call, the audiobook doesn't resume after the call. The app shows that it's playing, but no sound is heard. I try to pause/restart with the button on the headset, but that doesn't help either, so I have to take the phone out of my pocket and manually restart the sound. I know this is a little #whitewhine, but it actually bothers me, since it happens several times a day!
I'm running ARHD rom with all apps updated, and as far as I know there are no software updates missing.

Random issues with my pixel 2 xl

I have had a pixel 2 xl for awhile now (Verizon version sadly) and have had very few big issues with it but lately there have been things that have been bothering me.
One issue is that applications like YouTube, Amazon music, and even my e book reader I use to listen to audio books will randomly pause for no apparent reason.
Another thing that has been happening to me recently is that when watching videos or listening to music my volume will sound significantly lower itself and sound muffled. As far as I can see there is no visual indicator the volume is lowering. Then after a couple of seconds or two it will go back to normal.
The only other issue is that it doesn't connect very well to my PC. I have used several cables and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Not sure how a Google phone can have issues like these.
I thought they would be sending out updates to fix these types of issues, but since they haven't and seem incompetent when you ask them about issues like these, I figured I would ask you amazing people.
Thanks in advance for the help!
My sound was going way low while listening to podcast - I noticed that do not disturb was on - perhaps it lowers the sound of what you're listening to in order to alert you during do not disturb?
Hmm I'm not too sure I usually keep it on vibrate but I don't think it's ever on do not disturb but I will be sure to check next time. I'm probably going to factory reset to see if it clears up any of the issues.
