Data desactivated time to time - Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Questions & Answers

Hello, little worries with my Mi 9 se on global EEA 10.2.9.0. So, from time to time, my Data is deactivated and can not be reactivated (the button in the drop-down menu is grayed out) I have to restart my phone each time.
What I've done witout success :
-Set to never the timer to desactivate the Data when phone is locked
-Enable the settings in the dev option to always enable the Data
What I'm currently doing:
-Switch from Sim Card Slot 1 to 2.
Any idea ?
Thank you.

[Q] Gps auto data delete

Hi. I'm a fun of yours work on Samsung Wave. I come here to ask if is possibile to create a program that automatically delete the gps+ data.
I have the JL2 unofficial fw on my Wave and I checked that, without a manual delete data + gps, they are not downloaded. It 's always necessary, any time, enter the secret menu (*#4097*4097#) and manually delete the data.
It would be possible to build a tool able to do this procedure automatically and, perhaps, start Route66 in the same time. In short, do everything with one click. With this settings the fix of our Wave will be always in the order of time of 20-30 seconds. It's possible in yours opinion?
Why do you need to delete any data? I've installed Sygic and i get a lock after about 10-20 sec ....

Is difficult to explain the situation. I use Ruote66 and fw JL2. I haven't a flat plan on phone and I use wap configuration. I think isn't a problem of Ruote66 but of the internal settings of gps. In my case, if I don't used the gps from a week, the fix is slow (12 min). I have active gps+ but the download doesn't run automaticaly if I delete gps data.

Becouse I buyed Route66. I want use it and not another software.
Question: Can you give me the fw in your Wave and the setting in secret menù of gps (*#4097*4097#)? My interest is for "gps type" and the value of "time - out" in the "application settings". Thanks
Time out - 60000
GPS Device-Type - HYBRID
I found that setting a timeout to 1000 worked a little better but effectively deleting the data gets it going more quickly. That is after setting up the system correctly in the first place.

I use this settings:
gps mode: standalone;
gps option: location+ velocity + altitude;
session type: tracking mode;
gps device - type; build - in;
data receive..: All;
time out: 60000 (change to 1000);
Horizzontal Accuracy: 1000;
Vertical Accuracy: 500;
I tryed to use the hybrid type of gps, but my apn doesn't support traffic of data. So I set built - in and it's ok if I delete gps data. Now, the most rational solution is waiting a new fw that, perhaps, will solve this problem but my idea is easy and can give to all those who use route66 an immediately solution.
So, there is anyone that can realise this application? Is possible?
Here's how I got mine working correctly. (effectively I finish with Nezmanpro's settings as well)
1. Dial *#4097*4097#
2. Choose 3-User setting
3. Choose 1-Assist Method Type then select AGPS. System will reboot.
4. When the phone boots and returns to idle mode (after entering pin and checking the SD Card) dial *#4097*4097#.
2. Choose 3-User setting
3. Choose 2-SUPL Setting and set the options as below
Use AGPS or NOT = On
MT-Auto Configuration = Off
SUPL MT-Response Type = Accept
Server Address Type = IP_ADDRESS
Server FQDN Type = Custom Config (this was originally BMC LIVE TEST )
SUPL Secure Socket = Off
Server IP Address = 74.125.77.192
Server Port = 7276
I then go back up to "Server Address Type" and set that to "HOST_NAME". I can then set Server Custom FQDN = supl.google.com
I think there's a bug here as the port should also be available when using a host name - when choosing host_name the port field is locked, that's the reason behind going back up and changing the "Server Address type".
Save this. then go into 4-Network Profile
4. Set the network to the one you use for your internet access, not the mms.
5. Check that in the PDR Setting all is checked.
6. Go back to the main menu of LBS Application then select 2. Application Setting
7. Set the following options:
GPS Mode = A-GPS CP Based
(See the following post for further info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=729118)
GPS Option = Location+Velocity + Altitude
Session Type = Tracking Mode
GPS Device-Type = HYBRID
Date Recieve Type = All
Time Out = 1000 (like Nezmanpro)
Horizontal Accuracy = 100
Vertical Accuracy = 500
8. I then go back into User Setting
9. Back into Assist Method
10. Set Assist Method Type = GPS+
System will restart
11.When the phone boots and returns to idle mode (after entering pin and checking the SD Card) dial *#4097*4097# to get back to the LBS Application.
12. Go back into 3-User Setting
You'll see that SUPL settings are no longer present.
13. Go into GPS+ Setting and check that Auto Download = Enabled
14. Go back to the LBS Application menu then 6- DELETE GPS DATA
16. Happy navigation. Phew

Ok. But you must always manually delete gps data after this operation? I Knew that this operation was for functionally to have more speed to data download but my problem doesn't solve, becouse you must always delete gps data. Or not?
In order to get a fix quickly - ahem - in less than 3 minutes I need to delete the gps data.
Compared to a HTC hero I have the impression that the phone has no A in GPS.
the HTC hero locks in under 30 seconds the wave in under 3 minutes.

An application that auto deletes the gps data would fix this problem.
So the Wave does not use network assisted GPS? Then those Application settings in the GPS menu do not make sense other than the Standalone mode?

Having deleted the gps data this morning. I put the phone in 3G mode... gps lock in under a minute... I think YES the phone is capable of being assisted it's just that Samsung appear to have completely misconfigured and have forgotten to implement the gps data timeout :-(
definitely not something that would get past Steve Jobs....
i think we have nothing to do untill now except waiting a new firmware fixing this

Fix for VS986 dropping down from 4G LTE to 3G/H+

I've been working on a fix since a long time now. If you are in SD community then you prolly know me. Anyway I was able to fix this on two of my phones and it's now working fine. I tested for 12 hours now. I'll also tell you in the end what problems I'm seeing. I'm also working on a fix for that.
I noticed that a service is started when the fallback happens but if I kill that service the network also dies. But if you follow the below method it safely starts a new service which kills the one that's responsible for killing the 4G/LTE
1. Upgrade your phone to 13B firmware
2. Root 13B
3. Now download Shortcut Master lite app from play store.
4. Now add these shortcuts to your favorites in the "Shortcut Master lite app". You can search for "LTE" and click on search button
LTEBandSelection
LTETestMain
LTE System Selection
CDMAPreference
5. Now click on "LTEBandSelection" and enable all the bands
6. Save and reboot
7. You now need to enable your data and turn off your wifi. Make sure your phone is in Global mode (in settings >> Mobile networks >> System select)
8. After your phone is rebooted open "Shortcut Master lite" app.
9. Now tap on LTETestMain
10. Select Click on CDMA preference.
Now choose Band preference and select "any"
P_REV_Preference ---> "MOB_P_REV 3
This is important.. EVDO Revision --> Rev A
11. "LTE Connect w/o IMS PDN" must be checked
12. Now go back to your main menu in shortcut master lit app
13. This step is very important. Changing the timeout is important. Tap on LTE System Selection
Except "Scan duration" add a couple zeros to all the other timers. For eg: T_mpsr timer (Min) is 200
The fallback timer will reset itself after reboot. But don't worry the configuration is already updated with the new value. For some reasons the shortcut master lite app is not picking it up.
14. Now finally click on "CDMA preference" in the main menu and make sure it has the value you set in Step 10
At step 10 or 13 your network should go away and your phone should complain about "no network". That's fine. just ignore the message.
Now finally reboot your phone. That's it. You should now have 4G LTE and it won't fallback to 3G or H+
The only problem is when I'm on a call my 4G LTE is dropped to 3G/H+. But after I hang up it goes back to 4G LTE after 12 seconds. I don't know if it's an expected behavior. But I'm trying to see if there is a fix for that.
I tested this with Tmobile. Make sure your APN settings are correct.
Thanks @motorhead_biker., you rock!!!
I am on rooted 11a, flashing stock back and then will go to 13b to try this out. Was waiting for this.....
Isn't this thread a duplicate of http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/general/guide-fix-vs986-dropping-to-3g-h-4g-lte-t3272434? Can they be consolidated?
Thread closed as there is already a copy in General and that is where it belongs.

Bug with : Notifications, home button and network => need help

Hello guys !
I have a Nexus 5X and i got quite a big issue since yesterday :
- My home and "multitask" buttons don't work anymore (but the back button is ok)
- I can't see anymore my notifications (none at all)
- I can't expand the notification bar twice (I'm stuck with the quick settings) and even clicking on the little arrow doesn't do anything
- I have no mobile data, even if they are activated in the settings..
All that came all of a sudden : I had no problem during the day and I was just using my phone when it started
I've tried :
Reboot, wipe cache in recovery mode, I even upgraded to Android O and it is still the same
If you have any idea before I factory reset it....
Thanks
Bourliam
@bourliam: restore any nougat-backup?

wipe data problem

Hi my Max 3 has gone into MI-Recovery 3.0 mode
The options are (a) reboot - when I click on this it brings up a picture of Miui 10 in background with some chinese options about entering wifi passwords?
(b) wipe data - when I click on this it takes me to 'wipe all data', I click again and it asks me to confirm 'wipe all data', it then gets to about 3% on a spacebar and says 'data wiped successfully', and then takes me back to main menu again
(c) connect with mi assistant - asks me to plug phone in using USB then doesn't seem to recognise it
Any body any ideas please on how to reboot my Max 3?
Thank you
Unfortunately your phone is in EDL mode (download mode). Only an authorized Xiaomi account can recover it.
This is due to ARB which is active in Mi Max 3 and other Xiaomis. If you try to go back to the Android or Rom version (in some cases), this will start.

SGH-i747 Archived Downloads 2021 Walkthrough

I picked up a decent used SGH-i747 to use as a spare house phone. It was bone stock UCUFNE4, and I went through the rooting process, flashing TWRP, some custom ROMs, and restoring my nand backups. Yes, on a nearly decade old phone! I forgot how much I missed this phone after it took the splash.
DO THIS FIRST : Network / Carrier Unlock SIM
I was finally running my old system but then tried a Red Pocket SIM card...I didn't think ATT locked their SIMs. I don't remember having to unlock my old d2att, but I've slept since then. You'll most likely have to be on the stock OS to network unlock the SIM. *You get 5 attempts to enter the unlock PIN code.
Have your device and IMEI handy.
Follow the directions on ATTs unlock site https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/
Insert a non-ATT SIM card and turn on the phone.
After fully booting, enter 8 digit PIN unlock code you recieved from ATT.
If unlock is "unsuccessful", you'll have to go through extra steps.Extra Steps
Insert a non-ATT SIM card and turn on the phone.
After fully booting, cancel / dismiss the unlock code screen.
Open the Dialer and enter *#197328640# to enter the hidden Service Menu. If entering the numbers in the dialer does not open the hidden Service Menu, you'll need to return to stock firmware.
In the hidden Service Menu, navaigate to: [1] UMTS > [1] Debugging screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] NETWORK LOCK > [1] Perso Sha256 INFO
If the value for Sha256 is "0" and off, this is the problem why entering the 8 digit PIN code was "unsuccessful". We need to turn it on.
Touch your left capacitive Menu key opening a navigation menu, and touch the "Back" option. (not the right capacitive Back key, that will exit the Service Menu)
Select "[2] Perso Sha256 ON" (I'm not sure if it's actually on yet, or touching the item "Perso Sha256 ON" in the resulting cascaded menu turns it on, so I touch it also)
Touch your left capacitive Menu key and select "End" to close the Service Menu.
Reboot phone and now entering the unlock code should work.
Return to stock firmware
Assuming you have TWRP recovery version >= 3.0.2-0
Download bootloader-modem_I747UCUFNE4_4.4.zip to a micro SD card. (I've tried other bootloader-modem packages that didn't work)
Download I747UCUFNE4_Stock_Rooted_Deodex.zip to micro SD.
Backup or transfer to external storage anything you want to keep on internal storage. (*you might be able to skip internal storage wipe)
Make sure micro SD is properly mounted as portable storage in the device, and boot into recovery.
Backup system/data/etc. *optional
Wipe partitions: Dalvik, System, Data, Cache, and *Internal Storage
Install bootloader-modem_I747UCUFNE4_4.4.zip
Install I747UCUFNE4_Stock_Rooted_Deodex.zip
Reboot to system.
Root and/or flash TWRP with ODIN

Here is my SGH-i747 download archive. I never delete my shared files off Google Drive, so they'll be here. Everything you should need to bring this device under heel.

Hey, just want to say Thanks for this.
I had a Galaxy S III kicking around and wanted to put in back in action - just like you for a house phone. Up until about 1 year ago I had GBs of ROMs for the phone - and then did the housecleaning "Who will ever need this old stuff anyway???" and deleted the whole works. I realized the error in my ways when I started looking for the files this AM
So, you've got me back on track with your "One stop shop"
Cheers
PS. By the way - which of the ROM's did you find smoothest & most responsive to run?

Seems like custom ROMs for this device were better than other droids I've had. I think Liquid Smooth was the best performer, but limited to KitKat apps.
