As the title states, I can't find jack **** on my factory unlocked ATT Moto z 2 force xt1789-04
Can I and how do I Root it??
I know the bootloader can't be unlocked right??
I've had this phone for 6 months and the adds from apps popping up randomly is seriously irritating
Just disable apps that you do not want to use.
About ATT bootloader unlock, keep buying lottery and you may win Powerball one day.
I already do that, disabling apps
I know bootloader can't for att
Is there any way to Root it without??
Please and thank you
Maybe there are some other ways, but most of us dont know about it.
Currently, unlock bootloader is the only way to root Motorola phone.
Anybody else know anything else on the att 1789-04 factory unlocked phone.
Bump for info???
Is it at all possible to root or unlock bootloader????
att factory unlocked xt1789-04 on T-Mobile network
Thanks everyone
Short answer is no you can't bootloader unlock or root the at&t version

I have an ATT phone currently unlocked and using it on T-Mobile. I want to root and use it on T-Mobile, but Im a little nervous that once I root, and wipe everything, the phone will be re-locked to ATT. So my question is, once I root will I lose my carrier un-lock?
It might be helpful to clarify a couple of things. It sounds like you're currently SIM-unlocked (thus able to use your AT&T branded M9 on T-Mobile). Are you currently bootloader-locked and want to unlock it so you can root? Or are you already bootloader unlocked?
Rooting definitely does not wipe/re-lock anything. Unlocking your bootloader triggers a system wipe. My understanding is that once your phone is SIM-unlocked, system wipes don't affect your phone's SIM status.
Sorry for the confusion. I am currently sim unlocked, and I want to bootloader unlock. However, before I unlock my bootloader, I want to make sure that I wont re lock my sim. My ultimate goal is to unlock bootloader in order to root, but I dont want to relock my carrier to ATT. Yes, it is an ATT phone and I'm using it on T-Mobile.
I'm pretty sure that unlocking the boot loader will not affect your SIM-unlocked status.
But if it were me, I would want a more definitive answer than that.
Another forum member may be able to answer for sure. In the meantime, consider asking HTC directly via their chat system. I've found them friendly and straightforward.

No you won't lose your unlocked network status.
The unlock once done is permanent.
There was one a while ago on the s3, an app, which was unofficial and I lost that a few times between flashes, but I don't think you'll have that issue.
Thank You. Unlocked boot loader, rooted and still have sim-unlock.
Hello,
First time poster. I just bought a refurbished unlocked Verizon Note 4. It is currently running Android Version: 6.0.1. I am interested in upgrading the OS to Nougat or Oreo (if possible) Do I have to root the phone to do this? I am not really interested in rooting, I just want to update the OS.
If I have to root, whats the easiest method? I read conflicting threads on the forums saying it cant be done with Verizon Note 4's. Some people say it can be done.
Thanks

Lol well you either have root and an unlocked phone or you dont have an unlocked phone. Hopefully you didnt get charged more for the alledged unlock. Unless you meant simlocked in which case , all verizon phones are unlocked and i hope you didnt pay more for it .

Sorry, when I said unlocked I meant SIM unlocked. I am from Canada and all our carriers simlock the phones while under contract. Anyways, is there a way to force upgrade the OS on these devices without rooting?

Not to my knowledge, but the root/bootloader exploit is for bpa1 which you can Odin back to or forward if applicable...couple of post recently with older bootloaders don't remember if you were one or not
i am trying to unlock BL but the moto page say its unlockeble... enyone can please help me?
Go over to the Lenovo MSG board and they have a big thread about this, mine said the same thing but I knew it could be unlocked since it was T-Mo. If you have a AT&T you might as well forget it as they cant be bootloader unlocked. I'm not sure about Verizon.
its sprint phone
there is a way to skip that?
Hi all, I have a moto g7 play XT1952-5 on AT&T service in the US. I would like to root and unlock the boot loader but Motorolas service says that my phone is not unlockable. I see that this is a standard response for moto phones on ATT. My question is, am I truly hosed on both root and a bl unlock? Are there any crafty ways around this? I have done a good bit of reading and see solutions for 1952-1 through -4 but it seems to go silent for models after that. Any help from the ether would be extremely appreciated!
Thank you for help in advance.
Bootloader is not eligible for unlock (not at all surprised) for the XT2075-2. Has anyone found a way to unlock the bootloader or generate a bootloader unlock key (even if it is a paid service)? Worst case, it would be nice if there was a root exploit that could be used.
Well this is frustrating. I bought the unlocked version xt-2075-3, but received the ATT version (xt2075-2) It appears the unlocked version doesnt have 5G for USA anyway... So I am ok with the ATT version... But youre saying I cant root this thing? Wtf?
