I plan to get this for my dad, who is currently using a Windows Phone Lumia 720. He is pretty happy with it per say, but he misses his Xperia X10..
I will be brutally honest, that Android phones arent as smooth as WP. But again, WP have a serious dearth of Apps that Android doesn't. One of the main reasons I am rethinking of getting dad back on Android.
The only thing he can't bear is a slow phone...He is retired and spends 90% of his day on his cell phone. Messaging on WHatsApp, Hike, Facebook and Twitter.
And yes, he was also an avid photographer in the past. So a good camera will be an added advantage.
What do you honestly think about the T2 Ultra. Since it's a 6" display, he can easily read and surf the net on it.
I would love to hear honest opinions about it.
Though I am into rooting and modding devices, I will stick to stock on this one...
On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate t2 Ultra's performance, speed, usability (6" screen) and built quality?
Thanks for reading and replying.
in my opinion this phone is good, with the 13mp primary camera it can shoot a good photo...
and the performance is good...but with root it will be more smoother than before...
furthermore, its good for gaming beacuse the 6'' display...but its a bit slippy that i have to be more careful with it...

Bro, the camera isnt good in this phone, i personally use this and found the camera experience unsatisfying. There are a lot pixels visible in the pics, color reproduction isnt accurate, and its takes plenty of time for taking one pic, considering its a quad core, it shud have been much faster.
The pros of this phone are the screen size and battery backup.
This is my honest opinion.

A nice phone but, camera is unsatisfying, i have 8MP phone beter than this.
opimion
Honestly saying you should have it it has big screen good processor and GPU
it's an all in one package and ya it has a good camera too..
coming from note 2,its has an awesome battery backup, screen and killer looks, but camera is one of the worst I ever used plus 1 gb ram is another issue, sometimes even my keyboard dsnt pop up in browser coz all the ram has been eaten.... go for lg pro 2 instead some sellers are selling it for 28k
Thanks people...I'm listening
Auto-coded on my DROID RaZR!
Here's what I gotta say :
Pros
- Awesome screen size, display quality.
- The ram may be 1gb, but its more or less lag free.
- The camera is pretty awesome in natural lighting conditions.
- Battery life.
- It looks pretty good too.
Cons
- Loudspeaker volume is low.
- Camera doesn't perform that well in artificial lighting conditions. The zoom is a bit problematic too.
- It will feel a little uncomfortable to hold for a few days, because of its size, but after a few days, it'll feel normal.
If you think size and display matter, go for this phone, or you could consider the moto x.
Hope I helped.

I'm coming from Lumia 630, I do missed its ease of use and smoothness but I finally settled to this phone.
I'm looking for a dual Sim device first and foremost, so battery life is a priority even though I yearn for a big screen experience. I bought Asus Zenfone 5 about 2 weeks ago, and the whole android experience is being let down by awful hardware. Very weak GPS, weak WiFi, weak GSM signal, crazy battery life that doesn't even hold a charge for half a day because the device is scrambling for every wireless protocols. Switching to Xperia T2 Ultra isn't as easy for me too... In my country, Sony is notoriously known for very bad after sales service, plus this phone is double the price of the Zenfone 5. I bought it new because nobody is selling it used (the phone isn't exactly a seller).
I had doubts, I kept every bit of plastic covering intact, just in case the phone doesn't work as intended, I'm going to sell it again.
Lo and behold... Strong WiFi signal, quick connecting GPS, stable GSM signal on both SIMs, and the strong battery life makes me extremely happy with my purchase. The big screen might have lower pixel per inch compared to the Zenfone 5, but you won't notice it that much. The media is overblowing the PPI thing, they are accustomed to seeing high end devices screen, but for commoners like us, unless it's very extreme, we won't notice the difference. After the KitKat update, I torture test the device, playing whatever games, go back home, open the browser, Google docs, taking pictures, while Facebook (no messenger) and whatsapp pinging in the background. Some hiccups, but nothing crashing. The games occasionally restart though, due to limited memory, so you might want to limit it to casuals or save a lot when switching apps.
There is one peculiar app that crashed one time, and it's Sony socialife app. I never opened it, but I got a warning the app crashed, might be a background process.
The camera on this phone is disappointing, I could've swore my old Xperia Arc took better picture. Prepare for an overly aggressive image sharpening and slight discoloration. I really don't know why Sony's smartphones cameras are now subpar, up to Xperia S (my last Sony phone before T2), the image was clear and crisp. Might be T2 Ultra is a mainstream high end I mustn't expect much, but when a 3 year old camera phone can do it better, something amiss.
The phone size is just right, I tried Z Ultra before and to me it's a bit too big. I can still put it inside my pants side pocket with ease and can handle it with one hand just fine.
Since my T2 ultra is the dual Sim version, the KitKat update lower the processor speed to 1.2 GHz. Well, at least it's still a quad core and I didn't notice significant slow down on daily usage.
I'm not a power user by far, and so far I only change wallpaper and have Google now and calendar widget with organized icons on my home screen.
Just curious, why didn't you get the Z Ultra for your dad? If you don't need the dual Sim, the Z ultra can be had for a little more than the T2 ultra. In my country, I can get the Z ultra for US $70 more, with free powerbank and free case. Minus the LED flash and the size, everything is better. I need the dual Sim in my case.
Guys guys guys! Just want to thank everyone who bothered to come here and wrote what they felt like!
I am so glad you guys are helping me...
While I am 99% sure I want to get him a T2U, one thing stopping me is the size.
He wants to get it cause he once had a Xperia phone and I sold it cause I wanted to buy me a new phone (stupid and selfish me!). But Now, the best of the lot, in terms of size, spec, price IS the t2U...
I will be grateful for anyone else who thinks they can chime in...
Thanks again to all the wonderful people who replied!
How is your dad doing with the T2 Ultra? I've owned the phone for about 6 months and I'm hating it, it's so slow that I prefer going to my computer to do even basic stuff, such as browsing the web.
Honestly speaking if u buy this phone use it without root or custom things than this phone is great deal
+ battery backup is very good
+topnotch performance
+good display
- Shutter lag (take too much time in taking photos sometime)
-No vivid images like Samsung(there will we no vivid colour in your photos)
-Front camera is bad
-No 4k and real 120 fps video..

$70 for Z Ultra ? Where did you get that? Wish I could get one of those lol.. Well Z Ultra doesn't good in any aspect, the display rather disappointing and not as accurate as what Sony said about wider RGB colours and the display still using TFT and just a bit better than Xperia Z. At least it got Snapdragon 800 and 2 GB with 16 GB of internal storage.
BTW, well I just want to speak up my mind.
The phone is good but not great, you'll get okay performance but don't expect more since this is just a midrange device, one gig of RAM isn't that great tho but well it got the job done. What I hate is the software, Lollipop ruins the camera, it will be a bit greenish while you can get really scary effect from front camera after the update, still SONY doesn't update or fix it. I hope you guys could HELP to COMPLAIN so Sony could hear it and help us.
The camera is okay, beside the cold white balance, you could change it with manual mode.
[Just a TIP for people who found the camera is SLOW when it's getting dark. Go to manual and change the scene to Anti Motion Blur or Night Handheld]
Another problem is the internal, since it only has 8 GB of internal storage, installing too many apps could easily take up the space, well this can be fix with rooting and install Link2SD Pro (YOU NEED FAST MEMORY EXTERNAL). The speaker, it is not bad, it could get loud but distorted.
Well, not everything is bad about the phone, the display is good, it is bright enough but not so bright under the sunlight and the phone is rather light even it is a big phone, put a case on it wouldn't make the phone so heavy tho.
The battery is rather good for a phone with 6 inch screen, but the downside you have to wait 4 hours until it fully charged, at least you could leave it while you're sleeping.
Pros:
- Good camera
- Good display
- Okay performance
- Good battery life
- Light weight
Cons:
- Disappointing speaker
- Low internal memory
- Bad front camera
Hello,
Im considering buying the new Sony phone. Any thoughts on it? Is it worth buying over other premium/flagship phones?
I plan on buying it as ive found the best phones for my self to have are Nexus, LG or sony
I find that its a worthy upgrade to my Z2 and has that typical sony quality, although i had some problems with my Z2 its still an awesome device and i'd be happy to take a Z5 Premium over a LG V10 (my alternative choice)
Benefits over most phones:
4K Screen
Typically decent battery life
Decent camera (i dont care about megapixels)
Nice design and shape
(not sure about fingerprint sensor)
I REALLY like the demo units ive used
I have the V10 and Z5p. Since this is my first Sony phone I am completely loving the Z5p. I got the Black version. The Nexus 6p was never a choice after seeing the disturbing bend video on YouTube. I'm running the Z5p naked but the cases and glass screen protectors are coming in next week.

My choice is probably between these two phones and then also waiting for the samsung galaxy s7 or rumored Lg g4 pro. Any thoughts on what would be the better choice?
If you where to choose between the V10 and Z5p what would you choose?
Having owned all top end phones in the last 3 years I'm must say z5 premium sits quite well amongst the current top phones 6s Plus, Nexus 6p, S6 Edge plus, M9 plus, moto x style, Blackberry Priv. I will provide very brief reasons why i think so
Where Z5 is par or performs better the other top end phones:
4k screen(obvious) - bright and vibrant
speakers - loud crisp and clear
Design - Sold with glass back
Build quality - sturdy and waterproof
Camera
Battery life - good
UI - smooth and very little lag (only BB, Moto is better due to being closest to stock android)
SD Card
Cons
PRICE (s/be priced around £500 max)
Won't get good development support, very little

If you don't mind LG lag and ugly UI then LG is a very good choice but for me I detest it more then Samsung UI. This of course is personal preference and not necessarily objective.
As for S7 i think it's going to be worth the wait since it will probably have 4k screen and premium build, better camera and better processor. Hopefully UI would have been revamped closer to stock android. Then again there will be news leaking of other top end phones like Iphone, HTC and Sony, Motorola etc so you could find yourself waiting even longer.
As long we keeping buying they will keep churning out phones month after month, week after week. How sad!

I currently own the Nexus 6P, and had the S6 Edge (sold it).
The Sony Z5 Premium is better than every other phone out there right now....the 6P is great but I think it's just slightly out of my comfort zone of 5.5 inches. Plus the Z5P just looks absolutely fantastic....I ordered the chrome version and should have it by the end of the week.
For those comparing it to the S6 or a possible S7, don't...S7 is no where near ready for a release date....the S6 is still considered new....but just as all other Samsung phones, Touchwiz still sucks and still hurts the S6 in the end...and the software builds from Samsung are still laggy to this day! My S6 Edge always started to lag considerably after I loaded it with a good 30-50 apps...the Nexus 6P works fantastic and very smoothly regardless of what you throw at it...the Sony Z5P is the same...user experience on the Z5P is probably the best of all other phones and from the few people who I know have it say there is no slowdowns or loss of performance...I'm guessing that has a lot to do with the fact that Sony hasn't gone too far from stock Android...if you Google Sony Z5P camera pictures, you will see it is very superior.
There are a lot of people talking about CPU degradation on the S6 which is happening within months of owning it...I think this really may be true or Samsung just has a lot of bad Exynos CPUs in production....my S6 Edge was a very big letdown overall except for the camera and screen which were absolutely fantastic....the Z5P looks to excel in every aspect of a smartphone with no real negatives.

The thing that worries me is that although I am paying for a 4k display I only get to use it 10% of the time. The rest of the time the screen is in normal full hd.

Does it makes the 4k worthless and therefore not worth spending that extra money. I have also read that you cant see a difference between full hd and 4k on this sony phone.
You can easily change the DPI on the phone to full 4k full time without root...it can be done a few different ways...but honestly, wouldn't you prefer using 1080p when just browsing the web and mundane tasks? It automatically uses 4k anytime your using the camera or watching videos...what else could you possibly need 4k for? And remember, if it bothers you, just change the DPI and it can stay 4k permanently

You won't see the difference between 2k and 1080p either...its not the resolution that matters...it's the quality of the display panel that matters...there are 2k screens on many phones yet some look sharper and crisper than others...the Sony Z5P has a superior panel that looks fantastic regardless of the resolution... That's what matters.
Hand on heart, this looks sharper at 1080p than the S6 edge at 2k.
At 4k this thing looks amazing
Sent from my E6853 using Tapatalk
It does look sharp even with 1080p due to 4k screen, everything seems upscale.
I must say I can't tell the difference between this and other QHD screens.
Other 1080 screens don't look as sharp.
For me my dual Sim z5 premium have a bad battery ever seen..... Also biggest problem is the high heat beside the camera in the middle point..... Also delay when calling 2 to 3 sec..... I think this device the last one on Sony brand.... I think it's a very bad choice.... Believe me I swear....

I've had my z5p since monday. I have not had any issues with battery, call quality, screen, or speakers. I like the z5p a lot, its not as huge of an upgrade over my note 3 that I would have liked. But in all there is nothing wrong with getting the z5p. I suppose a small argument could be made about the 4k screen utilization. I think a lot of people realize that it takes a lot to push 4k and it should not surprise you the phone doesn't do 4k all the time. Be smart with your money, if the price difference between the regular z5 and the z5p is too much, then cool go with what you want.
I really like the XA1 look, but is there a reason I should buy this phone over the X Performance? The XP is older, but has better specs and is about the same price. Add the XZ to the list too. It's $449. XA1 Ultra is $399 usd.
The gorgeous big screen?
And it's the best looking phone i have ever seen, and build quality is high. The shape makes it like your holding a piece of solit brick/plank, love this.
I mean if you want your phone to look good this is it.
I am getting a case for it. Thw material they used to make this is very good. I have the white one.
Also be aware that the sound is gonna be low from the headphones you might get upset if you like your music loud. As i said the screen is very beautiful. It rekinded me og Galaxy s8 screen. The blacks are superb. I work in a electronics shop and pretty much used every phone in existance. Camera is good but i dont know much about that other phone.
Software wise it holds up pretty well, its snappy considering it doesnt have stock android. Heck my previous phone that has stock android, i bought for $35, and is snapier/faster, that tells you something. Its not horrible like Samsung's touchwiz.
Yeap all about the screen. Just picked up a ultra in white today and I am glad to have a 6inch screen again. Will have to wait and see if I continue to like it though. My p10 plus battery is horrible, u11 is damn nice but sometimes I want a headphone jack. G6 is great but wish the camera was faster

Spec isn't everything, especially when constrained by battery life. For someone who plays like only 2d game, or Asphalt/Riptide game, the XA1 Ultra will play fine for most.
The XA1 ultra battery even tho small, it can do better than expected. I'm not sure how Sony can pull this (as i can imagine screen will eat the battery more than a CPU fabrication factor), but that's the fact.

Battery life depends on how much you use the GPS, data etc. I've noticed that while I have unnecessary pre-installed apps disabled, and active WiFi scan off the battery seems to do well. But, if I use any social media apps (which I never do) the battery life goes pretty quick. Google now is also a battery killer ( nothing new) I'm debating rooting this device as I've yet to see what the custom ROMs have in the way of privacy guard and app control
I use social media pretty heavily, plus streaming the news almost all day long + Spotify... still get killer batt time. Also I charge it whenever I get into the car. Managed to get close to 100% after using the phone since 4AM till 3:30PM even throwing a 25-min Facebook Live, being in the car maybe for an hour all in all.

I think my biggest mistake was going for the Xperia X as at the time didn't know there was an X Performance ? lol but I've just upgraded from the X to the XA1 Ultra purely for the big screen and borderless display, putting it next to the X belittles it a lot but the colours on the X's display are much much more vibrant and colourful. The colours on the XA1 Ultra look a lot more dull but overall performance for me is great, the selfie camera can be rather laggy at times but it's a bonus having front flash (that also interested me) in my opinion.
Also, my other downpoint with the X was tempered glass screen protectors not having full coverage and leaving a thick bubble around the edge, I've just got some full coverage protectors for the XA1 Ultra and they're absolutely awesome.

Very strange, I've seen and used around three different XA1 Ultra's and the screen is fantastic, being even better and more colourful than my own 50'' 4K screen!
All reviews even say the screen on the XA1 is far better than other Sony flagships including the XZ Premium. I strongly agree.
Issue is the white balance may need calibrating as mine did. After calibration, WOW.
Try these settings and let me know if you see any improvement.

White balance isn't the issue for me, I've fiddled around with it and it doesn't make a dramatic difference.
What I'm trying to get across is that when I have the devices side by side (both of them un-edited white balance, and super vivid mode on) you can really see more colour within the Xperia X screen and quite a few friends/family have also agreed with me. I thought it was just my screen so went to a local shop and put my X & XA1 U next to their XA1 U and it looked exactly the same.
I'm not trying to slate the device, I'm just simply stating that the colours on my X are MUCH more vibrant but I still love the XA1 U. Maybe it's just change getting at me lol.
Also, Xperia X has 441ppi (1920x1080) whereas the XA1 Ultra has 367 ppi (1920x1080).
This is one of my favorite phones of all time, and I'm. The type that has a new phone every year. Great display and an amazing battery for a 6 inch screen. I'm also a flashaholic and even though we don't have a custom ROM yet I am seriously loving even the stock experience. Sony did it right with this phone, get it you won't regret it. Heck I'm turning my gaming computer and turning it into a development system just because I love this phone so much... Give it two weeks and I'll be making my first rom(in the middle of moving or it would be sooner)
lovely thread. Very informative. Keep it up. Just one question: Are we getting Android O(reo)?
Hello everyone.
In considering the Oneplus 5t as a replacement to my good old Samsung note 4, especially for the price compared to today's flashships.
One of the main factors when I chose any device is the screen quality. I understand the 5t scores really high in this sector, but I'm worried about the resolution and screen DPI.
My note 4 and all today's flagships have higher resolutions, and I'm wondering if anyone has compared the 5t screen with other devices and can notice any real difference in daily life, mainly while browsing pictures were pixels become more evident.
I considered the Note 8 and LG v30, but I really can't stand those curved edges, and I don't need a pen since I don't use the one on my note 4.
Thanks!!

I upgraded from the Note 4 to the OP3T and then the 5T. My decision was based on easy root and Dev community. I cannot notice a significant difference in screen resolution (if you look at TV resolution guides you'll see that you need to be insanely close to the screen to notice on something as small as a phone). OnePlus allows you to manually adjust the DPI to suit your preference so you can have tiny icons and such. I love this phone compared to my Note 4. Way snappier and no slow down from TW.
I personally have never thought "this screen would be better if it was 4k". But Samsung's infinity display is definitely a better display if that is your only concern.

Thanks for the reply.
Since you had a note 4, how would you compare the screen with the 5t one? Would you consider the 5t an upgrade in terms of quality, color accuracy, brightness, watching angles etc?
Also, is the 5t camera overall an upgrade compared to the note 4?
Thanks

Full disclosure I didn't use the camera on the Note 4 all that much, but looking through the pictures that I took with it the OP5T seems to take much better pictures. The portrait mode is also great to have.
As for the screen, I personally don't notice a difference in quality. Small text still has clearly defined edges that I can see. I don't use my phone for VR so I can't comment there. I really like the colors on the display and didn't notice any significant color difference between the two, but this is subjective. It is plenty bright and I think that might be an upgrade from the Note 4 as I seem to recall having to manually adjust the brightness to actually see it whenever I stepped outside and still having some issues. Viewing angles are also great with this phone. I don't have any color shift unless it's a pretty extreme angle.
The one thing the screen has going for it is it's size and lack of bezels, which I really love. Other than that I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find a significant difference between the two unless you looked really closely or had special equipment. So not really an upgrade in screen quality, but definitely not a downgrade. The rest of the phone is a huge improvement though. Way faster to use and a much better update schedule.

Thanks . Such a reply is much better than any review on the net, as you gave real life experience.
I'm really satisfied with the Note 4 display, and if this isn't a downgrade, that's grade. Being with much less bezels and overall lighter is a huge plus too.
I'm a Note 4 to 3T and now 5T convert.
Updates aren't an issue with OP, they're doing a fine job now. If I had to complain, and I don't need to, it's the security updates are always behind.
I don't have the issues that a lot of others are having. I also don't have a lot of crap apps on my phone. 100% stock with dark theme, BT always on, brightness between half and 3/4 and I'm averaging 1.25 day of battery and 8hrs of SOT.
In regards to the screen, it's made by Samsung. I'm surprised at how easy it was to adjust to. Choose your preset or customize it and run with it.
Camera, hmm, it's good but not as good as the Note 4 in low lighting. Once you get to know how to use the camera, other pics come out quite nicely. Most of the pics I take are of circuit boards and car parts.
Audio, unfortunately I'm hearing impaired so I try not to comment on it. I will say that it seems like every other update the volume output changes either up or down. I notice this when I'm connected via BT to my cars radio.
I can't walk and chew gum so I'm not a VR user.
Hellz yeah it is. It's excellent and it's even better than some QHD displays out there like the G6.

I honestly wouldn't worry about the screen resolution, it's fine, honest. On the plus side, the HD+ screen means the GPU has less pixels to push around.
My best advice would be to compare it side by side with other devices in the flesh if you can, that way you can see if you like the colour tone of the screen. I've spent several years using a succession of cheap devices bought directly from China. All of them have had LCD screens rather than AMOLED. I'm finding it very hard to get used to the screen because it looks so yellow whenever looking at anything white. If you want accurate colours (reds and blues accurate) you need to have the screen set to sRGB or DCI P3 and with either of those options whites look very yellow indeed. I've compared my phone to two other 5ts now and they have all been the same. I think I'm gradually getting used to it, but I've had to set the screen colour to 'custom' and as cool possible to get anywhere close to acceptable whites. The downside of this is it comes with very oversaturated reds. When comparing the 5t to the panels on the S8+ and Note, they seem whiter and generally a better panel.
Having said all this, I'm happy with the device in most ways and the resolution is basically fine for me.

I actually find that the Samsung panels that I've been looking at (S8/Note 8/S7) have been generally the same as the 5T as far as whites go (very good), but the S8/Note 8 tends to have reddish whites and the S7 had a greenish white. The 5T was much better.

That's interesting, I wonder if the type of lighting makes a difference? In the shop where I compared them my eyes honestly thought the Samsungs had more pop AND better colours. Their whites were closest to the LCD screen on my old Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. I also felt that the middle range Samsung's had all the same 'issues' as my 5t, i.e. a bit yellow when displaying white backgrounds, and very over saturated reds that look almost scarlet or florescent. I guess it must come down to what each person is used to and how they perceive colour? I'm gradually getting used to the 5t and I really like how it looks when playing a game. Doom 3 looks really lovely on it

I think there are a lot of factors going on. Lighting, personal perception, etc.
I went from the original Oneplus One to the Nexus 6P and now to the 5T. At first, I was also a bit worried that the display on the 5T would be less sharp compared to the 6P, due to the difference in DPI. But when I got the 5T, I could hardly tell the difference. The display was just as good and even brighter and vivid.
Although OP5T screen is beautiful perfect, But if screen is still a concern, LG V30 is a way to go.
I guess only difference is resolution...Pixel counts.

Uhm, no.
The V30 has one of the worst screens of all current (flagship) phones.
The one in the 5T is way, way better.
In direct comparison with the S8 I can tell the difference. But its not to great. Colors and everything else are really similar. Unless you use it for VR its very ok in my opinion.

Can confirm. Had a pixel 2 xl for a few weeks (same LG POLED panel). Brightness uniformity is horrible and whites are very grainy. Don't miss anything about that display.
It seems that this phone has a lot of issues and problems that are constantly being ignored or not cared about by Samsung.
Is this phone worth it, or am I better off selling it and buying an A50 which seems to have the attention of Samsung? Because The A50 has gotten so many updates compared to the A70 that is still on Security patch level: May.
I've had an A70 for about a month now and it's one of the best phones I've ever had. Battery averages at two days, screen is bright and always legible in bright sunlight, phone is fast and smooth. Fingerprint unlock used to be crap but updates have made it work ok. Face recognition is good. Camera is pretty good - again it's improving with updates.
I think it's the best phone for the price.
I'm really happy with mine but yeah the fingerprint reader isn't the best but it's still a great phone
Have not had any problem with this phone. To be honest, worth every Penny I paid for it.
At the moment I don't have one as my contract is due for an upgrade in October. But I as usual I have been doing research about this device and I must say the pro out weighs the cons by a mile. All the you tube reviews from unboxing to month on reviews are all positive. I am even overlooking the A80 as the A70 offers so much more for my money. Stick to your phone bud. You are in the teething phase now
I have been using a V30 and S8+ for the last year (1 was a personal device and the other as work phone). Performance on both phones was identical, with the key differences being the camera (better on the v30) and the ergonomics (v30 won this as well). Most recently I purchased the A70 and have been using it as my daily driver for the last 2 weeks or so. I have the A70 setup exactly the same way as both the V30/S8+. Same apps, settings, etc. I can say from a performance point of view, I have not missed the V30/S8+ at all. The A70 runs the same apps without any noticeable performance difference. I am not a huge gamer but there are a few that are always installed on my phones.. and they run the exact same on the A70, as they did on the S8+/V30. I haven't seen a difference in load times, or graphics and performance has been the same. Camera quality is pretty good. I thought Id miss the wide angle from the V30 but the A70 has it as well. Front camera on the A70 is much better than both the S8 and the nearly useless front cam on the v30. Battery life is fantastic. I get 2 days usage from the A70, whereas the S8+ gave me 1 day. Audio quality to my ears is the same. That is a lot considering the A70 runs on the SD675 and the V30/S8+ on the SD 835. The display is crisp and what you expect from a samoled. I would say yes, the phone is def worth it. Removable storage, huge battery, fantastic 1080p display, BT 5.0. and great performance. This phone has met all my expectations.. and I am glad I bought this rather than an s10+ which is more than double the cost of this phone.
Hello,
As Stillriza I used a S8+ (for 2 years). I now have the A70 since 1.5 months. The fingerprint unlock is good since last software update (when it is difficult I honestly have an explication such as finger is just coming out of water, long pressure on the finger...).
The 32Mp camera is good outside by day but the quality decreases when the light is decreasing (much worse than the camera of the S8+).
I haven't notice any slowdons on apps compared to S8+.
The screen has a lower resolution than the S8+ one but bigger. It is really not visible and it is very good and effective in the sun.
I will keep this "pocket computer" for a long time. I think it really worth its price.
For that price
i owned the phone before, if you want my advice: forget samsung and go for xiaomi mi 9t (redmi k20) as i did, you will not regret it.
Yes i'm totally happy with my a70, not a perfect device but exceeded my expectations by miles
I will list cons only here:
1-white colour has a tint to it, but no problem may be the amoled nature or my calibration
2-prefer stock android, but one ui is so good
3-no twrp or easy root and custom roms yet, but i will wait
4-no stereo speakers, but the included speaker is loud enough
other than than all are pros not cons
I like it. it's not perfect but it has better native apps than most phones I've owned.
fingerprint sensor is nearly impossible to get to work
but the phone has a night mode for its settings. has a great onboard keyboard. it has its own app store, theme store.
File explorer is very usable. I'm off 3rd party apps for the most part.
The music app is super fast to load the artworks. Sees most artworks. takes 48 hours but indexed my 300GB music and loads entire list (all have artworks) in real time. Really imperfect but very fast, great music app by Samsung.
Then there is the RAM Memory optimizer under settings; device care; then memory button. On other phones I have had lately, this can take a long time. Have to go in apps in settings and do each one individually.
My phone gets 1 bar of signal strength less than my other phones but despite that I love this phone.
Fingerprint reader performance is livable. (A sweaty thumb on glossy glass is prone to cause difficulties with finger print reading, even on Iphones. So I can deal with it. - Try storing fingerprint data with a wet finger? Seems to have helped.)
The camera with the G-cam app is very good, and even so I still find myself using the Samsung camera app more often for its features and the polish of the app. - The panoramic shot is a full 360 degrees and better than my Iphone7. I like the hyperlapse and slowmotion. HOwever, this phone is definitely not a camera phone and won't take steady videos.
The native file explorer app and video player app are great.
The 20:9 aspect ratio is perfect for phones. You get so much usable real estate and yet a slimmer form factor that is much more practical for one handed use and for keeping in your pockets.
I love the ONE UI interface. I have it navigation bar set to invisble and I'm using gestures.
Compared to my previous phone it's thinner as well and feels great. It does not feel like a cheap phone at all. It feels solid and well produced.
I have the one in white. Paid $370 for it.
I got the samsung a70. I like the phone's 6.7 inch display. But the aspect ratio makes it a bit narrow. That's why I'm thinking about getting the huawei mate 20x which has a 7.2 inch screen. Do you think I should stay with this phone or buy the mate 20x?

Register 3 fingerprints of the same finger and it'll work seamlessly.
ok. I may try that. I have already but for some reason I deleted the first two or three, hoping one clear one.

Seems like the Mi9T doesn't have an SD slot?
I have my A70 for a good amount of time to speak about it.
I really like the device. It's fast, reliable and it was a surprise to me that it can hold two sim cards and a microSD card at first. I remember that I was astornished by it's beautiful, shiny back, but that's a personal prefference. I only found 3 problems with this phone that gladly doesn't bother me that much.
Starting with the back, it's really, REALLY easy to scratch it. Mine, even if it was in the case, have some scuffs on the back. It's plastic, not as much resistable as the glass is, but I was aware of that when I was buying it. Kinda shame.
Secondly, the bezels are very small and I have big hands so sometinmes I touch the screen when I don't want to or being aware of. A bigger case like one of those armor cases should fix my issue, but that adds to the size of the phone which, I am not sure if I want right now.
Lastly, the cursed fingerprint scanner. It doesn't work all the times, but the updates seems to give it a bit of speed and accuracy, failed attempts to read out the fingerprint significantly decreases.
Overall. I think the phone is worth the money but again, that's my perspective.

3 months since I bought this awesome phone. I have no regrets. Biggest pros are 2 sim + sd card simultaneously and the huge 4500 mah battery
