Hi all, I use LineageOS 16 on a Lenovo P2 and I am looking for a way to have it connect to wifi networks using EAP SIM authentication.
I asked in the rom's forum and I've received mixed answers: somebody said it's not supported by any means, somebody else suggested that it could be possible to compile the new wpa_supplicant binary in order to support it.
For me it's getting more and more important being able to connect with EAP SIM, but I don't feel like downgrading to the stock rom, as I would lose so much in terms of performance and security.
Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

hey guys
I have a interesting project at the moment, for that, I need to 'castrate' a phone in its capabilities.
The phone has some A5 ciphering modes which it supports (A5/3 - A5/2 -A5/1 - A5/0).
Now I need to disable all of them but not the A5/0 (unciphered).
The network will need to take the unciphered method, because it needs to think the phone is not supporting anything else.
Is there a possibility to patch the gsm stack like this?
which phones would be the simplest for doing that?
what do I need? are there any settings, or is real radio patching needed?
Is it possible to patch the radio?
Thank you very much for your help!
Sven
Hi,
I don't know yet if it's a LeeDroid 2.1c or a Froyo issue:
The Sensui-Roms got the following issue:
You can't select your ca-certificate when you want to add my 802.1x-network. The certificate is already installed. Help is very appreciated! Could someone include the Wifi-stack of the Nexus-One rom to a Sense-rom or can tell me how to get it from a Nexus Rom to a Sense rom? I attached two screenshots: One of how it should look like and one how it looks like actually in my Sense rom. I edited the wpa_supplicant.conf and added the line
Code:
ca_cert="keystore://CACERT_Telekom root CA"
after installing the cert. (yes I used the right certificate name)
It doesn't help either. So it looks like sense isn't even capable to manage ca-certificates.
Greetings
Moved to Q&A. Please don't post question threads in Development.
Sorry, that wasn't the plan.
I tried another rom without sense and another sense rom to find the reason for the problem. Actually it's a problem with the settings-part of the sense-roms. HTC forgot to implement the possibility to specify a certificate in the 802.1x Enterprise WLAN settings. Can I import the WLAN-Settings somehow from a non-sense-rom, cause I don't wanna miss sense and I don't wanna miss 802.1x too.
Greetings
Yes, bump sucks, but the bug sucks even more...
I've got the same problem. Sense doesn't allow me to select a CA-certificate. With the help of wifi-ace (code.google.com/p/android-wifi-ace/) I was able to set it manually. But this doesn't matter, the connection could not be etablished. (Connect to WLAN... SCAN... No connection)
I need enterprise with PEAP, MSCHAPv2 and the (installed) "Deutsche Telekom Root CA 2".

Same here. I solved the problem by using the newest MIUI. It's faster than sense, has also a nice music player and is working fine with the defrost-kernel.
Is there any way to disable automatic network selection?
Due to roaming agreements with my home network provider, we get significantly different rates if we're roaming with a particular provider when overseas. However, with LineageOS, when the selected network operator is unavailable, it switches to 'automatic network selection' and signs onto any other network.
I would like it to sign onto the manually selected network only, or remain unconnected, if possible. (My other phones were able to do so...)
Am using LineageOS 14.1.20170404-NIGHTLY-gemini. Baseband TH20c1.9-0323_1855_e85ef5a. Kernel 3.18.31-lineageos-g650ff65.
Have you found a solution? I'm having the same problem

The following is the Official LineageOS 15.1 thread that's also specific to your device.

I had stock oxygen os 3.6.0, there I could use volte in both Sims and assume if I was using data from sim 2 then even though data was off in sim 1 but still I could use VoLTE in sim 1.
After installing Lineage OS, I can use Volte only in sim 1. Futher if I switch data use to sim 2 then my jio sim in sim 1, stop showing any signal so consequencly I can not use VoLTE in sim 1.
Please can someone guide how can I bring stock OS volte behavior in LineageOS?
Thanks to everyone

That link is to the Official LineageOS thread for your device. You don't need to create a new thread since that thread is for providing support for your specific device and LineageOS.
You just post your issue there and someone should be able to help you out since the other members there have the same device and ROM installed.

Hey. I am not a pro, but somehow after multiple failed attempts I have successfully installed Lineage 14.1 on my Samsung Galaxy Note II (t889 T-mobile)
Unfortunately I am still stuck with many problems and there's alot to fix for which I need help.
1. I am unable to use LTE or even 3G (working on my other phones by the same sim). I have tried the settings through *#*#4636#*#* menu, doesn't help either.
2. Unable to root my phone through Odin. I have previously rooted it multiple times successfully through the same method, however, now SuperSU application on my phone says the device is not rooted. Or any other application that requires root, is asking for the phone to be rooted.
3. I can't update to new nightly update of lineage 14.1. As I thought the LTE/3G problem might be associated with the current version of this custom rom. (i read on the same forum that some other guy also had this LTE/3G problem on the same 22dec,2017 version)
I suppose all the above issues are kinda interlinked with each other and having a solution to a single one might give me relief from the other two as well.

I seem to resolve the Lineage update issue myself.
But I have made some other blunder as well. My 3G/4G LTE IS NOT WORKING. 2G is working but not quite well. After installing lineage, my device was network locked displaying 'network sim unlock code'. After going through multiple threads on the same forum, I wiped my efs folder through *#197328640#. Though i made a backup of efs folder through 'Partitions Backup & Restore 2.0.1 apk by Wanam'. I dont have an IMEI number as well.
I dont know what to do now. Do I have to say good bye to my 3G/LTE on my phone? I am freaking out. Please HELP.
Phone is Samsung Galaxy Note II (t889)
