OnePlus 5T touch stop working when downloading WhatsApp Backup - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

Hey guyss.
My OnePlus 5T has a very curious problem. The touch stops responding randomly, and all the rest of the smartphone continues to operate normally, even though calls are received.
I noticed that when I was downloading my backup of WhatsApp (it's a big file, 8.7gb) that the moment I entered the file manager of the phone the touch was frozen, and it stayed indefinitely.
But the curious thing is if I turned off the modem from the internet, leaving the cell phone without wifi, the touch come back instantly. I've done this test several times, and whenever I was downloading the WhatsApp backup and enter it in the file manager, the touch freezes, only coming back when I turn off the internet manually.
Any idea what that might be? Any wifi card conflict? I've reinstalled the oxygen and cleaned the dalvik and the cache. Problem remained.

8.7 gb is really big could be your file system isn't made to restore big backups most roms over 2gb has to be put on different site and has issues restoring files download to PC then copy files to Whatsapp folder my phone has issues with other I changed to ntfs works better

Hi mate, yes, maybe, but my xiaomi mi5, LG G6 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 managed well with this same backup. And in the past few days I have had the same problem when I took a photo and enter in the gallery after the shot, the touch stops immediately. Other local that I've this problem is in the file manager. When I enter in the file manager in some big folder the touch stops too.
Looks like that's a problem with the management of the files, in the most cases with the photos files. It's really strange.

NFS: MW issue with data when switching Roms

I have been trying for the life of me to figure out the way, or if it's possible to keep progress from the game when updating or switching roms. As of now, Titanium Backup doesn't work, or does saving the data/game files and transferring them. Once you try to do either, it says that your unauthorized. Then you have to start fresh and re-download the 2 million gig game and files. I contacted firemonkey and they said rooted devices aren't supported. Don't remember seeing that on play, and it should be. Regardless, I paid for the game.....why am I not authorized to continue progress, and forced to start over from scratch when the newest version of pie is out? There has to be a way to keep progress....?:fingers-crossed:
I'm not sure how much this will help you but maybe it will be what you are looking for:
I recently had a problem where NFS:WM would crash on startup, and apparently the only thing to do (according to firemonkey) is just clear data and lose all progress. Having almost completed everything, I wasn't having any of that.
I'm not rooted but do have my bootloader unlocked so that I can fastboot TWRP to do backups, which also happens to give me root access when booted into TWRP. I made a backup and looked through it to try and and a problem. No luck there, but I did figure out that the game progress is stored in a single file. No config data or anything as far as I can tell, just the progress. So I cleared the data, ran the game through the first level, then copied that old progress file over the new one and I had it back up and going with all progress intact. It's basically a clean install, and since all of the config data is still part of the new install, it didn't cause me any problems.
I did download all of the game data again ultimately, however. But an earlier test of saving "/sdcard/Android/data/com.ea.games.nfs13_na/" and putting it back to avoid the download did work, although it could have been a fluke.
Anyway the file in question is "/data/data/com.ea.games.nfs13_na/files/var/nfstr_save.sb". Just save that one file, install the game from scratch otherwise, run it the first time, then copy that saved progress file over the new one. Assuming that there isn't anything else going on that I didn't find, that should solve your problem.

Awesome. I'll give this a try. :good:
I use MyBackup Pro. I backed up the data and apk from my Nexus and transfered it to me Evo LTE. I restored the apk and data. It does prompt me to reinstall the other game data, which is fine with me. I found if I tried to copy it from one device to the other it would cause the game to crash randomly

most likely because of the device id (which is the id you see when you type "adb devices" in a command prompt). it's supposed to stay constant in the lifetime of the device (except for factory reset)

[Q] Phone resets to Jan 1, 7:00pm after restarts. Many apps not working.

I've been having a very odd bug that started to occur today.
Whenever I restart my phone, battery pull, or turn it off and on it resets to Jan 1st at 7:00pm. Some apps are not working, including BBM (msgs don't attempt to send), Snapchat (gives me a "Google Play not supported by device" notification), and Google Play (no connection error).
Because my phone is "in the past", whenever I send or receive texts they do not appear on the message log due to their time stamps being in the future (I assume so).
What should I do? Should I wipe and re-root. I'm running Liquid Smooth JB 4.2 ROM and have been for nearly 6 months for no issues. I wouldn't expect it to be the ROM.
Another thing, If I do wipe and re-root, how would I completely wipe everything minus the core things? Let me elaborate: I've been having a problem caused by CWM where it is creating multiple "0" folders (which are created to store all the files every time I install a new ROM). I think it's at about 7 files deep now due to switching ROMs daily about 6 months ago. This leads to a very messy internal SD with files all over the place. How would I fix this so it goes back to the normal file structure, pre-root? Do I have to go delete the files by hand on via my PC?
Another thing, what method is recommended to save my People contacts, messages, app data, etc (preferably on an external back up: PC or external SD)?
Thanks in advance!

Extract pictures from ROM

Hello, a few months back I installed CyanogenMod 12 on my LG G3 and everything was working great, but when I updated it it started acting wonky and gave me constant error messages. I backed up the ROM and flashed a brand new one on there, but I realized all my pictures were on the old ROM. I can't access them through my phone because of the constant error messages, and it doesn't register that my phone is connected when I plug it in. Even through TWRP, when I look at the contents of my internal storage, it doesn't show everything I have. Is there a way I can extract the pictures from the bare files (ie. data.ext4.win000 and things like that)? Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!

[LS990 ZV4] LG File Manager gives error, screenshots won't save, Gallery empty?

Repost from Sprint forum area, since this main area is much more active...
I have some weirdness going on with my LS990, still running the original ZV4 with Xposed and TWRP. I've never had any problems, until now, with anything on this phone, it's been fantastic and that's why I leave it on Kit Kat.
Starting yesterday, whenever I try to open the stock File Manager, I get the following error dialog:
------------
Note
Cannot read files. File Manager will be closed. Please check Media Storage enable settings and try again.
OK <--button
------------
Sometimes the dialog is in the foreground and I can close it with OK, but File Manager never opens. Sometimes the dialog appears behind my launcher icons and everything is unresponsive until I kill the running process using my nav bar shortcut from G3 Tweaksbox.
Also, I was trying to take a screenshot to include with this post, but it gives an error (Cannot take screenshot. Try again.) when trying to save it, plus the notification just stays on "Saving Screenshot" and is unable to be swiped away. [UPDATE: Noticed the screenshots do get saved in the proper Pictures/Screenshots folder, but the notification remains "stuck"]
I have also noticed my gallery is now empty, yet I can still access all of my pics from third-party file managers. Plus, when I open the camera and take a picture, it doesn't show in the little Gallery bubble at the bottom of the screen - in fact, the bubble doesn't even work, but yet the picture is saved properly.
Has anyone seen behavior like this before? The only thing I have changed on the phone is flashing the new TWRP 3.0.0.0 yesterday, using the image feature in my previously installed TWRP 2.8.7.0. I've updated TWRP plenty of times and there has never been an issue, but one difference I did notice this time was it asked if I wanted to keep System read-only or the default swipe to make read-write, which is what I did since I have Xposed and it modifies the System anyways.
Hopefully someone out there has an idea how to fix this, I really don't want to start all over, at least not until Sprint releases MM for the G3. The strange thing is, everything else is working just fine. My phone is fully functional except for the quirks mentioned above, root is still there and Xposed is functioning properly. I did do a Safe Mode boot to see if I could eliminate any root apps, but the issues were still there even after a safe boot.
Try sd card write fix on the market just for kicks u mighta lost permissions to the ext sd try switching save point to internal and see if they save
Unfortunately, I'm not using a microSD card, everything is saved to the internal memory. I thought it might be something with permissions, was thinking about trying the "fix permissions" option in TWRP but I'm not sure if that would make things worse. I've already tried a cache and Dalvik wipe, but that didn't fix anything. Even in Safe Mode, nothing changes.
I've searched online and haven't seen anyone else with this issue, it's very strange. I wish Sprint would hurry up and drop the MM update so I would have the perfect excuse to flash back to stock.

My files are not deleted but lost

Hello forumers, please help me...
There is a problem with my Note 8 Pro phone. My files are in ghost form. I can't use them, open them, view them. I can't find some either. I didn't delete any of them. They suddenly disappeared. Some are in ghost form, I can see them but I can't use them I leave: "File doesn't exist or has been"
While playing with the Redmi Note 8 Pro brand M1906G7G phone, when I opened the gallery, the images in it started to twitch (flickering while being processed), all the images were gone in less than a minute. When I tried to check the files from the file manager, I noticed that all the files except system were not in place. So all my files suddenly disappeared before I knew what it was. Nothing happened to my contacts, sms, calendar information and externally installed applications (games, programs). The "second space" wasn't on when this was happening. When I looked at the size used from the storage it was 35.5gb, as if it was reset. The advanced settings of the phone are open, but the phone is not rooted.
I tried various file recovery programs, they couldn't find it. Except for the aforementioned files, only 3% of the files were found. So I think the files are lost, not deleted. There is a loss of at least 30gb. I'm in a predicament. Can anyone help with information on what happened to the files and how to get them back?
