Android car head unit GPS voice problem - Connected Car

Hi Everyone!
I bought a cihnese head unit recently and all is working so far, but the navigation voice is controlled with the system sound settings, so if I turn de wolume down I also turn down the volume of the gps and I can not hear the voice of the lady / gentleman who tells me which way sould I go. I serached a lot, and found some very old (six years) solutions and new ones, but none of them work. I tried to volume up when the gps is speaking, I tried to switch Sygic to bluetooth then turn up the bt volume at the units factory settings. So as far as I know the gps navi sound and my system sound (which controlls the music loudness) is bind together and sadly the gps volume is too low. Maybe I missing something. I think this is an importatn feature, but my headunit does not have that. Can you guys give some new advices? It is an octacore android 8.0 if this matters.
Thank you in advance!

I have the same issue... Like Heptameron, I did not find any solution ! Can anyone help us with some advice?
Thanks !

Nobody ???

Same here, can't separate the two volumes.
Thought I had turned GPS voice up but then blew myself out of the window when I enabled the FM Tuner!
Spent hours on this.
"Latest" Chinese Android 10. head unit and IGO GPS. Not connected to my phone. Want it "simple" for now!
Anybody?

[Q] Bluetooth "in call" Volume - KIA Sportage & HTC M9

I noticed this M8 post regarding bluetooth in call volume with a Hyundai i30 (same stable as Kia Sportage)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/low-volume-via-car-bluetooth-audio-t2913015
Interestingly I have exactly the same issue with my new M9 with Kia Sportage Sat Nav unit which is probably the same as (or similar) to the i30 unit in the first post. Have latest firmware installed in the car sat nav.
As stated, both streaming of radio/music is fine! As for the end of call beep, very loud!
Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Note 4 was fine in same car.
Very annoying indeed
Anyone else had this issue, found a fix or can suggest something to try?
Thank you

I have the same problem. Have bluetooth volume up max on the phone and the car system up max too but it's too quiet to hear anyone in the car if i'm moving at speed.
I imagine the fix will involve rooting and installing a volume fix / mod but never had much luck with BT volume on mod's personally in the past.
I too suffer from a really low in-call volume while using BT.
1. I've now re-updated my head unit with latest firmware
2. Remove my device from the head unit
3. In addition, removed "Sportage" from the phone BT devices
4. Rebooted the phone
5. Turned off the ignition and waited for the head unit to power down
Re-did the whole BT pairing exercise and touch wood, audio is louder ....... but the end call beep is still way too loud!

Bluetooth microphone and OK Google

Having an issue where I can't get the microphone on any of my Bluetooth devices to work with OK Google.
I have a motorcycle Bluetooth (china brand) and also a set of Jabra headphones. Both work done playing music and using them on phone calls but for the life of me when I activate OK Google it defaults to the internal microphone only and won't use the Bluetooth microphone.
I've tried changing all the settings under voice in the ok Google settings and also the settings to do with Bluetooth headset and hands-free bit still can't get it to work.
Is it just me, is it my settings or has OK Google stopped working via Bluetooth (I've read others have no issue)
Running 8.0 but have also tried it on a 7.2.1 S8
Any help or ideas?
Hi!
I just have to ask, did you ever get this working, and if so, how?!
I'm having the exact same problem as you, with a Galaxy S6 on 7.0 and a BT-S2 chinese helmet intercom.
I'm going crazy and really considering going back to iphone just because of this.
Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. Did not get any notification about the reply.
Did not get it working. Turns out it needs to be included in the headset as a standard feature (which the china headset did not have) Now use Sena headsets and they work great.

Audio not being muted by Nav software

hi,
hoping someone can help.
i bought a Xtrons android 7.1 unit for my Skoda Superb in ebays 20% sale after christmas.
Its stayed fairly standard so far, other than me uninstalling the original DAB app, and installing the Zoulou's excellant DAB+ App to work with my DAB dongle, since then i have install the copilot sat nav app from the app store.
my problem is that when copilot deliver voice directions, the DAB+ app isnt being muted or lowered in volume, so its getting a bit of a mess when its delivered mu;ltiple instructions or long ones when someone else is talking on the radio.
Has anyone got any ideas what might be causing that, i have gone into the xtrons setup and changed the default nav app to co-pilot, and tried changing the settings for muting the audio, but they dont seem to e making any changes.
thanks

Did it ocurred with the original DAB app?
does occur obly with DAB app, or with other apps?
Hi,
I didn't have copilot installed until after I installed dab+.
I'll try Bluetooth and normal radio in the morning and get to you.
Thanks
Hi,
I tried copilot with audio from Bluetooth and fm radio, the audio from those sources isn't muted or lowered when copilot delivers a direction.
In the android contol panel nav section I tried mixed set to 1 and 10, and separate, with no differences.
Any ideas?
I think I had problems with Copilot as well so ended up using Waze

try other Navigation software like Tomtom or Sygic or Waze if that still occurs. Try first with the option of default navigation software unselected and secondly with the specific app selected
If worked it seems a Copilot specific issue

LG G8 bluetooth issues with Ford SYNC

Hi all,
I'm kind of hoping someone has run into this issue and might be able to offer assistance. When I first got my LG G8, I was able to pair it to the Ford SYNC on the first try. The only problem is that the volume control was terrible. When the phone was at full volume I could barely hear it through the car speakers. I had to push it up to 20 to get decent sound, where with my previous phone, the max required was 14. When I tried searching for a solution online, the suggestion was to un-pair the SYNC from my phone and then re-pair it again. The problem is that now the phone doesn't see SYNC at all - I only come up with a bunch of Misc connections, and not a single one of them are for my car. If anyone has experience or suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

I had a similar problem with my new Jeep Grand Cherokee. The solution was to remove the phone from the Bluetooth listing on the car.. Then turn off the entertainment system by shutting off the ignition and opening the door. Reboot the phone. Then try again.
Yes, the Bluetooth connection does not seem to offer as powerful an audio signal, as does a direct hookup. In my Chrysler unit I found a menu option to boost the BT audio volume. Don't know if Ford has that. If your car supports "Android Auto" or "Apple Carplay" , the better option is to load the appropriate app on your phone and use that system.

Bluetooth and Car Audio

Anyone else having issues with connecting the 7T to their car and getting audio going out of it? My OG Pixel didn't have a problem, but I have to toggle off/toggle on Bluetooth and then manually tap the car's bluetooth listing to get it to actually 'connect' the audio portion.
Rather annoying, considering I'm only in the car for a few minutes at a time, this either eats into the time entirely, or makes me sit in my car for a couple minutes before even driving to fiddle with the bluetooth settings.
Car has stock headunit, 2015 Evo X. Like I said, original Pixel XL had no issues, but this is annoying. I've tried changing bluetooth versions to no avail. I can see it connecting and dropping the bluetooth connection fairly frequently while staring at it and trying to 'get it going'. But once it connects, it stays there.
My bluetooth headphones (Some knock off cheap Chinese ones for $20) don't seem to have an issue.
My connection to my aftermarket stereo is fine. Just seems a little quieter than my last phone. Connecting is kind of slow too when I start my car but it is automatic.
I don't have any issues with connecting to all 3 cars (2014 Honda Accord, 2009 Pontiac G8 Gt and a 2018 Honda Fit) but I do agree that the volume seems a little lower than my previous phone (Galaxy S8).
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Hmm. Weird. Is there anyway I can check for logs to find out what exactly is happening? I haven't rooted, just don't know if it's something I can naturally pull from Android as a whole.
I had the same issue, but when I made the phone discoverable and initiated bt from the car stereo it seemed to work.
I also set a custom pin , not the default 0000
My bluetooth is quiet, but its also static-y. I never had any issues with my G6 and now I get static clipping every 10 or so seconds. Its unbearable.

I'm not really having an issue pairing it, but it's just connecting after pairing is the problem.
I have changed the default pin. I can see it popping up and down the car stereo a few times in the bluetooth settings before it just gives up.
As for the other issues, I'm not having a problem at all with audio volume, nor popping/static when it finally does connect.
My volume is super low when connected to Android Auto and streaming music. Have to turn the radio up to max. However, I'm assuming that's an AA issue or Android issue, as it seems many others are having the same problem with different phones. Been thinking of adding an aftermarket amp to the car. Maybe I should pull the trigger. Lol

My OnePlus 7t connects fine and phone works for calls on 2014 cts. The sound comes out of phone can change song on head unit but I can't get audio to play through car. Anyone else get this?
Yeah music stutters with car player... Only calls work. Music works on headphones etc. I couldn't find solution, did network reset, cleared cache. Nothing works.
Seriously!
I've wasted at least two hours already trying all the recommended steps: from flicking icons on and off to a full phone reset.
Still no connection to my Suzuki S-cross car. Multiple previous phones have connected effortlessly.
Even the $50 temporary five year old borrowed phone could handle it.
Anyone got any other suggestions? Yes, tried the AVRCP setting change from 1.4 to 1.6. That didn't work either...
Barebones system reset from scratch running O2 OS 10.0.6HD65AA
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
I need to be able to talk and drive!
Reset the car radio and clear all pairing data if you can. Then try again.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Tried that.
Tried one other car - no problems.
Tried a tablet and a very old phone with the car and suprise - the car's bluetooth seems to be the problem.
I will try and find out if I can fix the car!
UPDATE: Morale of the story - read the car manual very very carefully and go though each tedious step = SUCCESS

Yep most have lots of tedious steps that are different model to model and if not followed exactly will cause this problem on occasion..
In my case music starts to be scrambled after 10 minutes or so of listening. When I take the phone (so the watch pops up) or turn on the screen it immediately works fine again, but when being put aside and the screen turns off, the issue starts again ..
Also in the early days of my previous 5t I had the same issues but some fix was delivered together with oxygen os update. And now the same story again
I have a different issue with Bluetooth:
- OP7T connects to car Bluetooth fine
- I can make/answer calls
- Bluetooth media works fine
The problem is with Google Assistant & car audio:
- it was working as intended until the latest update - 10.0.15 - I was pressing the button on the steering wheel the google assistant was answering questions through the car bluetooth, no need to switch to bluetooth media.
- after the latest update, when I press the button on the steering wheel, Google assistant pops on the phone , starts to answer question, but cuts off after 5 seconds. the command still goes through and Assistant still runs, but does not come up on the car audio.
- it looks like the Assistant is not connecting to the car as a hands free, but as to a bluetooth handsets.
Anyone experiencing this?
