You have to do local update. Online update not available yet.
Download the firmware. In it there is a "update" file. Put that file into your sd card under the folder "dload". Then go to settings and local update.

My phone says I have a new update which is the 742MB B140 update that has been out for a while now. But I can't install it for some reason. I tried flashing the three zip files via TWRP and then I tried it with the stock recovery extracted from the UPDATE.APP from the B140 firmware update. Everytime it fails and says "Failed to check update files". In TWRP it gives different reasons depending on the zip I flash first. Is this because I unlocked my bootloader? I am new to Huawei or Honor and things are a bit more complicated with this one than I'm used to.

If you want B130 I think it's better to contact honor, they may give you a direct link to it (just mention you want FULL-OTA)
Yes better to contact them , they wont give you link but they will ask your imei and they push your update.
I have a rooted Honor 8 pro (DUK-L09C675B130), with an update in queue but everytime I download the update the phone boots into TWRP and it is not able to flash it. I searched for threads to unroot the phone (or get the old recovery) but I didn't find any solid answer. Also, when I try to enter recovery using the button combination Huawei E recovery shows up instead of TWRP. And TWRP is unable to flash anything, be it an official update or custom files. Any kind of assistance is appreciated. Thank you!

Yes my phone is rooted and I deleted bloatware apps. I have AL10
the boot warning alert is normal, you Bootloader is unlocked.
you can restore your firmware in eRecovery, this works only with AL10 Version and is very easy.
Boot in eRecovery and Download your firmware and restore.
Reboot your Phone and when you see the Orange Font "Your device ist trustet.... press the Volume up for 3 sec. and it boot into eRecovery.
After installing the Firmware make the Phone automatic a Factory reset and you on Stockrom with root.
Another Variant is Install Huawei HiSuite and press system update,if no update is available you can go to the previous version, but you must have a installed Stockrecovery.
I have an Honor Note 8 AL10 and this works fine.
But first try the eRecovery

It's 100% spam. Just read the specs ... Android v5.1 (Lollipop), 5.5' screen, wrong display resolution etc. . It's all rubbish.
erecpvery doesn't work on the l24 since they don't offer the firmwares yet. SUCKS!

Supposedly Oreo is dropping starting tomorrow. I'm guessing that'll only be OTA.
You don't think it'll be available via erecovery

Erecovery is the second Recovery, you can use to Restore the System to latest Version.
---------- Post added at 09:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:13 AM ----------
Power off the Phone.
Press Volume Up and hold but the USB Cable from Pc in and let go when you see the Erecovery.
There is an Option to Restore the System via Wifi to latest Stock Rom Version.
But i think this works only on Chinese Phones,i have a Honor Note 8 and it works on it.But it is not sure, maybe it works with the newer devices too
Please someone help me
I'm looking for the official OPP28-85-13-2 OTA, I need the zip to update to that version officially
I'm looking for it because it solves the low sound problems and the October security patch:crying:
Sorry that I answer so late, when I was searching for ways to update to Oreo I found this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/how-to/cedric-ota-archive-t3795275
It's a collection of ota files, it also describes the order how to flash them.
The otas and the list for that are here
https://drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1BkpfHvgQ477NViLYvzgv88Fgq3SSt5Py?usp=sharing
Edit: I'm currently on OPP28.85-16 but I don't know if you will find the otas for this, but I flashed firmware directly, guess when you don't want to reinstall your phone this is not an option?

Why should that? When you flash stock oreo firmware and it comes an update you can just install it like a normal ota in settings

I do not know what it means, I think it has to do with the companies that distribute the firmware in the different update channels or region
