Hello. First post. I hope I searched adequately.
I have a Galaxy Nexus LTE device, and I have been using the face unlock feature. I have taken approx. 25 pics of my face, in various lighting conditions, both with and without my fedora perched upon my noggin, all in an effort to improve the utility, speed and efficacy of the face unlock feature.
My question: Does anyone know how many photos the device/software is capable of using to improve the efficacy of the face unlock feature? I'll just keep adding more examples of my face if it helps, but if the device and/or software (ICS), are only capable of using 5, or 10, or 15 photos as a 'database' of sorts to improve face unlock, then I don't want to keep wasting time adding new examples of my face.
So, does anyone know how many pics the face unlock feature can reference in its use?
Um, doesn't it only use what it captures during the initial facelock setup? I've never seen anyone mention otherwise before.

Yes, I initially posted this under general, but then saw that question posts were to be posted in the Q&A section. I looked, but couldn't find a way to delete my own thread. In an effort to follow the rules, I then posted my question here, in the Q&A subforum.
Oddly, the post I made in the general GNex subforum has more replies than this post.

Thanks, I never saw any posts on it, and I read the forums frequenctly. Guess I missed it
Didn't want to create a new thread. I have been searching for this information, but couldn't find. So, does anyone know how many photos can you take using "improve face matching" option, before wiping out old ones?
Thanks
Can Someone please provide a link to the T mobile Visual Voicemail apk to install, The one in the market has Ads. I am looking for the previous version to the November 7th Release. The one without the ads.

I strongly disagree.
What if you don't want google converting your voicemails to text and analyzing your messages (along with keeping track of what you search for, who you call, who (and what) you email, where you go, and what you buy)???
I'm sorry, but an app that lets you simply push a button and play a message without having to listen to audio prompts and remember was that 7 or 9 to save... This Visual Voicemail is simple and efficient and a thousand times less stressful than trying to use Page Plus Cellular voicemail where they seem to randomly choose whether you have to listen to old messages before you can hear the new ones (so frustrating).
Until there is a law passed making me the sole owner of data about ME which lets ME decide how and when companies can use data about me, I don't want to provide more than nesc. to companies like google.

I spent five minutes looking through the search resuts after clicking your link and did NOT find the .apk for the most recent version before that update. Now I have to see, if there is some way I can undo the "thanks" I pressed for you when I stupidly clicked thanks before checking the link you posted since I assumed you were being helpful and linking to the THREAD. Ugh, can't undo thanks.
I don't know really know where to start to respond to this, so here it goes
1) If you do not want Google to convert your voicemails to text, disable that.
If you want to disable voicemail transcriptions, follow these steps:
1.Click the gear icon at the top-right of any Google Voice page and click Voice settings.
2.Deselect the 'Transcribe Voicemails' option in the Voicemail tab.
3.Click Save Changes.
2) I'm sorry, but an app that lets you simply push a button and play a message without having to listen to audio prompts and remember was that 7 or 9 to save...
Google voice does this very well.
3) Until there is a law passed making me the sole owner of data about ME which lets ME decide how and when companies can use data about me.
Why in the world would we need a law for this!?!?! Just don't give your information out on the internet, it IS yours, you can decide who gets it.

I am not sure if this is a bug or just something on my end. I can't find anyone else having this issue or not anywhere. I have Nova Launcher 2.1 and just recently installed Nova Launcher 2.1beta1 and am having the same issues. I wanted to create a shortcut to a document as I have done in the past. I have a few folders on a page to the right of my Home page. For some reason, I can't add any shortcuts. I am using either ES File Explorer or FX. When I hold on a document, and choose "Add to desktop" it would say, "Short cut added to desktop" yet it's no where to be found. However, if I go to the "Touch wiz" launcher, all the shortcuts are there instead...
Any ideas?

Hey buddy, i am in the exact same boat...infact i have posted the same question about a day or so ago here and didn't get any response: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288152&nocache=1
Im starting to think that im the only guy that wants to home screen my bookmarks/pages, until i seen your post here. I don't get how such a great launcher can not have the ability currently to homescreen bookmarks.
But as you said, when you flip over to another launcher they are there. I really don't know how to fix it or if there is a fix, i hope there is...as i want to continue using Nova.

I am in a similar situation. I guess the recent update of Nova would have bug on it. The issue I have is that I tried to add a S Note shortcut to the homescreen, but it wouldn't show up. It showed up on Touchwiz or other launchers.
What I don't understand is why though there is almost nobody with knowledge of it anywhere. Its like its the forbidden subject that nobody can speak of. I even emailed the developer and got nothing back.
Its just bothersome to me that with all the power that droid phones have, Nova simply can not let one add a shortcut to the home screen from web browsing.
Going back to 1.8 or 1.9 will probably solve this problem. ...

however- you post in the official feature request site, for which the admin responds sooner or later http://feedback.novalauncher.com/forums/145180-nova-feature-requests/status/606906 . going to try this as well.. I think I found them:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389071
Checked now.
2.0.1 works without flaw. [can be Found in the official xda web post]
the latest release has included auto add shortcuts for newly installed apps-which obviously broke the shortcut add by app[fx ,es] features.

Hello, everyone! I am brand new to Android development, and this is my first app. The idea is simple: scan a book's barcode (using an intent to the Barcode Scanner app), generate an MLA citation, export by whatever means you wish. I intent to add more features in the future. For now, I need my solid base functionality tested.
I'm bumping this because I really need testers.

I've tried it out, although I scanned only a couple of books.
After scanning screen goes black, when I presume the app looks for the title book, but I surely should present a spinning wheel or something. The first time, screen remained black, I had to press the back button to get to the app and have the pop-up.
Besides, when scanning another book, it simply crashed (for reference, it was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secret, UK, adult version)
Anyway, the title recognition works fine
P.S: I think Android design guidelines recommend removing the dialog titlebar in this case
I'll give it a shot here soon. any specific tasks you want checked out?

The answer to the first question - you dont, it's not available yet for Note 10+. Unless you want to try half baked, full of bugs, community made port of Android 10 posted in development section of this forum, which disables s-pen functionality and a few other things. The answer to the second question is Yes - you will need root, in order to modify a config file on /system partition, which would allow you to force-enable Gmail dark mode under Android 10 right now, before official dark mode roll-out. See more details here
It sounds like you have no idea what hex installer is. It is totally a fix for dark mode. It is a modified theme and you don't even need to root your device to use it.
Hex installer is available in Google play.
The good thing about this app is it can even create dark mode for whatsapp.
So, I think this is related to the thread and a great solution for note 10 + who haven't get android 10.

Hex Installer is a no root method of enabling dark mode using Samsung Themes + Dark mode toggle.
Synergy is another app that does the exact same thing.
This WILL accomplish the same thing the OP is requesting with GMAIL (and many other apps) while waiting for the official rollouts.
Neither require root and this persons posts DO have connection at enabling dark modes in various apps.
U need googles sir

Many tutorials, but it's not HEX editor!
It's Hex installer, download it from PlayStore and follow instruction, no magic and pretty forward with guide in the app.

MOD edit: Removed I actually tried hex installer myself, and unless I missed some configuration option, it appears to provides only partial solution - doesnt give gmail full dark mode. It is only able to make dark the gmail app screens themselves, but not the contents of every email. When you open any email, which by default has white or any kind of bright background - it stays that way with hex installer and dark theme enabled. True dark mode, like the one gmail has under android 10, or other email clients like blue mail, makes it dark everywhere, including email contents.
