Hello. First post. I hope I searched adequately.
I have a Galaxy Nexus LTE device, and I have been using the face unlock feature. I have taken approx. 25 pics of my face, in various lighting conditions, both with and without my fedora perched upon my noggin, all in an effort to improve the utility, speed and efficacy of the face unlock feature.
My question: Does anyone know how many photos the device/software is capable of using to improve the efficacy of the face unlock feature? I'll just keep adding more examples of my face if it helps, but if the device and/or software (ICS), are only capable of using 5, or 10, or 15 photos as a 'database' of sorts to improve face unlock, then I don't want to keep wasting time adding new examples of my face.
So, does anyone know how many pics the face unlock feature can reference in its use?
Um, doesn't it only use what it captures during the initial facelock setup? I've never seen anyone mention otherwise before.

Yes, I initially posted this under general, but then saw that question posts were to be posted in the Q&A section. I looked, but couldn't find a way to delete my own thread. In an effort to follow the rules, I then posted my question here, in the Q&A subforum.
Oddly, the post I made in the general GNex subforum has more replies than this post.

Thanks, I never saw any posts on it, and I read the forums frequenctly. Guess I missed it
Didn't want to create a new thread. I have been searching for this information, but couldn't find. So, does anyone know how many photos can you take using "improve face matching" option, before wiping out old ones?
Thanks

Is there any way to have show/hide tags such as
Spoiler

, to have a block of text hidden until you click on it?

I'd like something like this for my guide so it doesn't show all sections at once. That way the person can choose to show only the section they're working on.
Does this exist on these forums?
If not, can the site admin consider adding it?
Also, is there a way to "hack" this in via the [ HTML ] tags?
Not at the moment. Something like this maybe in vB4 when we upgrade.
Spoiler tags seems a bit hacky, the admin's might consider if there is something a bit more user friendly or fit for purpose.
Collapsing information seems the wrong way to do it. I think a navigation (contents page) that allows quick thread navigation without opening in a new window / tab would be better.
Dave
Doh, that's too bad.
I'm not sure what you mean by a contents page? Splitting up one post into several, may make things a bit more hectic?

Like the contents page on Media Wiki pages : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agile_software_development
In my experience, so long as the posts are sequential and the OP has the ingenuity to disable their sig until the last post, it's not too bad.
Dave
Ah I see.
What if you only have the first post in a thread?
It's too late for me

Post less? (j/k)
I was thinking about linking inside a thread. HTML allows Anchor / Name tags to do this. A way of building a contents page could be handy.
So the contents could have:
Post 1
- Part 1
- Part 2
Post 2
-Part 3
etc. etc.
It might just be a dream though : http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?p=2031310
Dave
I also think that this would be a good idea. For example, a rom developer could hide the changelog, todo list, Q&A, etc leaving the first post much less cluttered and simpler to navigate, but still displaying the same ammount of information. I know how to use anchors and links with HTML, but I don't really know if most people know all the code, and it would be more complicated. For example, just a single link to an anchor named banana would be Link to banana. It would be much simpler to just use a
Spoiler
tag.

Yes, another excellent idea!
A collapsible tag could be useful in so many situations!
Here's another possible use: signatures. Almost everyone has a list of the phones they have, current rom, radio, spl, recovery, mods, themes, etc. We could literally change 5-10 lines of text to a single "show" button on every single post on every forum. I have no idea how much work it would take to implement this, but it would really be a kickass idea.
Hi everyone,
i know this is a pretty old topic, but i wanted to know if it is meanwhile possible to build a "spoiler"?
i wanted to post a logcat-log but its like 100+ strings long so it would be pretty nice to make this information collapsable to keep threads clear.
thanks in advance

You could use a
Code:
box.
Sorry for also resurrecting an old thread but I too would love a collapsible tag.
As with the OP, I think it would be a real boon to writing guides.
I have a multi-part guide I'm working on/maintaining for the Arc but for each part of it, I'd love to be able to have it split into independently-expandable sections, it would make it so much easier to divide it up clearly and to hide necessary but lesser-used information.

It is already, especially in some dev threads where people post full logcats
Also, in one thread, I had posted a complete diff between two kernel versions, so implementation if this in the app would also be awesome(although you'll have to talk to tapatalk guys, hope they understand)

Htc has yet release the most bad-ass camera of all time. The camera supports a lot of new features.here are some.here a youtube video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9AmViR_twM&feature=relmfu
Much faster snap shop and focus
New Auto mode
New SmartShot mode (Takes multiple photos at once and combines them to make a better shot)
New SweepShot (Like Panoramic without having to stop)
New Clearshot HDR
New BurstShot (Takes multiple photos at once really fast)
New Night mode
New Action mode (to take images of fast moving objects)
New Macro mode (for close ups)
New Portrait mode for great portraits
Zero Compression JPG's
Improved Video recording
So i would love to see some of our developers work on porting the camera mod to the htc desire,it has already been ported to the htc sensation, evo 3g and some few handsets. Here is a link to the sensation forum where it has happy user http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295390
DON'T FORGET TO HIT THE THANKS BUTTON.HOPE U LOVE IT
awesome, but works with desire?
Requests belong in Desire General forum. Let me see what dependencies it has.
No,not yet but i think our awesome developers are going to work on porting here that is why i wrote this.Lets hope so
It has a fair amount of work. And cant do anything unless someone posts the framework-res.apk, com.htc.resources.apk, Rosie.apk and Systemui.apk. I cant promise that I will be working on it (anyway not in the next month-exam season), but those are the files that we need to properly decompile it.. If someone can take these from the rom and post a dropbox link, I'll see if something can be done (if I get free time after exams, and if I still have my Desire with me at the time).
NO Insults
This is a thread a created for the porting of the Htc amaze camera to he desire forum.I wise dev like Droidzone has made an intention to do something about it and some haters wanna hate.I'm a cool guy who see insult has a thing for children so there's no need.
HEY DEV'S I WANNA SEE A COLABORATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS CAMERA.
HOPE TO HEAR SOME RESPONSES FROM OUR OTHER DEV'S
hey droidzone i think u would have to contact the dev of the mod.he seems cool and sure he will send u the necessary files.

That's not the point. If a post isn't in the proper forum, you ought to report it for maintenance. Flaming the OP/other members is not only an immature way to respond, it's a violation of forum rules against flaming, which is considered a graver offense than posting in an improper forum. You post once, OP and others retaliate. Finally instead of a mature discussion, we end up in verbal brawls over something so utterly pointless, and creates the chaos you mentioned.
Report a post and forget about it. I agree with you completely that non development work shouldnt be posted in the DEV section, and have already reported this thread for moving.
Hurray amaze camera on its way
fIRST ALL OF HIT THE THANKS BUTTON
A dev developer replied me that he has already worked on the amaze camera and has it in his rom.So folks watch out if everything works out it will be uploaded and the download link would be ready by tomorrow.
DON'T FORGET TO HIT THE THANKS BUTTON.

THis is not a question or problem it is a upcoming mod that i and some are working to bring out
@sleeky, upcoming mods belong in Desire General/Q & A. Once you have a complete product to share, it should be posted in Dev. Though I took interest in this post you shared, I was the first to report it for moving. Dont you see that otherwise the entire thread is recipe for flaming?
we come from different worlds, we have different meanings. this is where it started, this is where it ends. if your opinion is as you described above, why have you even bothered yourself replying to my post?

if you mean 4.0.1/4.0.3 then coz ders is no camera drivers for them yet but the older version work fine
Would love to have the amaze cam working on the old Desire. I'm looking into it as we speak and found something that seems promising. Making a backup first to be sure, but if it works I'll let you know
---------- Post added at 03:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:14 AM ----------
Tried it, but no working HD recording and Burst Shooting. Found a post about that while doing the backup, but decided to give it a shot. Sadly I got the same results using Sebastian15's Runnymede 4.0.2 SE rom. I'll be on the hunt for a working one
And the link promised has not arrived since
what does the technical word "port" means?
Hello!
I hope you can help. After upgrading the ota the day yesterday, whenever I change the background and picking a picture from the gallery, it only allows me to choose part of the picture, that is, the vertical form, which gets too zoomed in and looks horrible. Before, I would allow me to choose a different form, more landscapy...
Yes, the backgroudn scrools, but the image quality is HORRIBLE!
Is it happening to you? Do you know how to fix it?
Thank you so much!
I already answered this question in two threads (one of them yesterday), plus there are a few more about this, its the ROM, Samsung made it that way. Search and youll find out how to fix it.

I was wondering, after filing 2 bug reports (even with logcat) and reading up on the PRO (iyokan) - CM9-thread about other non-implemented stuff, is there a list somewhere where we can see what should work and what shouldn't yet? I'm talking about stuff like audio over Bluetooth, hardware keyboard, video play and so on.

Read the 2nd and 3rd posts of the thread below..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356685
Yeah... I read those and found out they are not really up2date/correct after reporting several bugs (which ended up being features not yet implemented, as stated in the first post of this thread) about stuff that should be working according to those posts. So the answer is a simple 'no, there isn't an extended/more accurate version of that list available anywhere online' ?
I have 2 Questions about Quoteaions/Mentions and those new functions.
1st can you make it work that the notification disappears itself when you have read the concerning thread?
2nd is there a way to turn off mentions coming from oneself?
I often write things like @New Users, and I often use the @ sign as a shortenning for at + the following space, which often results in unwanted mentions, is there a way around that?

To prevent unwanted mentions from your side, grow habit of putting up a space in @ & the user. ie. @ New User / @ op etc.
For further suggestions and queries see this threadhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240142
And your suggestions have been discussed there, may be they are working on a fix.
