Sony Mobile is committed to supporting the open developer community, and one way to show this is by publishing parts of our code as well as selected tools developed by our internal developers.
For some of the Xperia™ devices, we provide Android™ Open Source Project (AOSP) device configurations on GitHub. This means that the software will be open for you as a developer to use and contribute to. This is a way for us to support the open Android community, and it is also a tool for us to facilitate and verify contributions to AOSP.
If you want to build AOSP for your unlocked Xperia device, you find all the resources you need in the sections below.
https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/
Unified 4.4 kernel sources
https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/kernel
Project git
https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/
Bug tracker
https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/bug_tracker/issues
Now you can build the latest Android with the latest 4.4 kernel
Thanks for all the hard work and keeping the resources easily accessible and up-to-date. I will be using them for sure .
Thank you for providing these resources and keeping up development for the devices they support. I notice that the dynamic resolution switch in the extended settings doesn't work on android 8.0 or 8.1. Are there any plans to add support for this back in at any point?

It says here that we can change the display to native 4K at 60hz or 1080 at 120hz with your AOSP https://androplus.org/Entry/4577/
The previous comment says it's not working in 8.0 or 8.1, but I don't see an open issue about it in your bug tracker. Was it fixed?
If it wasn't available for 8.0 and 8.1, what version is it available on?
I hope los and rr now.

Is there a changelog or something like that? I had issues with these binaries and AOSP builds from last week. A few days later I noticed a commit that mentioned these new binaries, but after that the "Fingerprint" setting is gone, so I'm now using a build of 08-03-2018 with the V10 binaries.
To be honest, I haven't tried a factory reset nor flashing userdata.img, so when I get home I'll update the repo, build a new version and do a full reset.
@jerpelea why Sony remove the FM radio feature on all modern Xperia phones? Why??? The hardware capability is there. Why you cripple the phone on purpose?
Can you please give a logical explanation about this issue?
When will Sony give me back this feature?
And why Sony block the Displayport alt mode? Again you cripple the phone on purpose.
And why I cannot root my phone without losing DRM keys? How to backup my DRM keys??? Please tell me.
I am waiting for answers but my patience is slowly running out.
Thanks Sony for being so user friendly.
If Sony don't fix these issues soon I will never buy Sony products ever again and I sell my Xperia's, my Playstations, my Walkmans, my Sony TV's and all my other Sony products. And I tell all the people that I know to do the same.
It's your choice Sony.

No. Some manufacturers actually care about their users. Not all smartphone manufacturers cripple the phone on purpose the way Sony does it.

I know this isn't available, is there a thread dedicated to working on it? Anyway the community can help?
Idk why nobody cares about xposed anymore. Last year people were so eager to get xposed on nougat/Oreo. So sad to see it forgotten
Came looking for pie xposed. Is there anything else that runs xposed modules? What are people doing?
Is Xposed gonna be out for Pie?
This thread, these posts... These people... So annoying.
It will come out when it's ready. Or build it yourself

McFlypants said that people should build xposed by themself rather than doing a SPAM of what, when, and how of xposed progress nowdays
I simply tell him to ignore it since it's their only skill, which mean people who do a SPAM on xposed progress will be more likely far from building xposed by self.

yes, you are right. I was also thinking about the huge "mod-scene" .. as shown in XDAlabs-APP... Will all these people:
- be stuck on OREO?
- abandon their beloved mods and move on to PIE - the land of no Xposed-Mods ?
I must admit that I am still on OREO with my OnePlus6 BECAUSE I would have to bury some of my mods.........yes, you can laugh at me...but I am that strange
Any changes so far? Or still nothing? :crying:
Xposed Pie
The reason many people want to know when Xposed for Pie is available is because lots of other decisions are contingent on this. Pie is out, the Pixel 3 XL and 6T are out. Should I buy these, root, update, etc.? I am still using Oreo on my Pixel 2XL. I would rather wait until Xposed for Pie is ready, and then execute all those actions. UNLESS... Rovo dies and we are all doomed... I wish this wasn't so dependent on one person. This is kind of ridiculous. But once you get addicted to the options...

Even if this is for XPosed, i would recommend you Magisk
Magisk is already available and works perfectly. Root is working, everything's fine.
I'm using xposed edge pro, this is enough reason not to update to pie. Anyone using this mod knows what I mean, nothing in pie or any normal apk comes close to what this mod alone offers.
Infact edge pro has sort of ruined my excitement for your average app because I'm finding that it can do just about everything especially when you dig deep into it.

I'm confused. Can i use Magisk for Xposed modules? I already have used Magisk for rooting the device. The issue is you need Xposed framework to install the modules. E.g. Is it possible to install GravityBox with Magisk? Thanks for the clarification.

I've no idea why people are comparing Magisk and Xposed. Two tools for completely different purposes. No, you cannot get the functionality of GravityBox with Magisk.

I agree. I don't get why it's so frowned upon to discuss the development, even though non of us have anything since Rovo has gone radiosilent. If nothing else, it shows that there's a demand, no? I personally was a little while was staying back on Oreo with my OP6 because of my Xposed mods, but seeing as the development seems so dead, it seems easier to just get un-used to the options that Xposed brings.
I mean the Xposed code is on GitHub. Seems like a great opportunity to learn java and Android internals for whomever is motivated enough

Not all of it. Essential bits of codes are still not made public by rovo89.
I think most of the people out there have started using magisk modules a whole lot these days and so the popularity of xposed is not as much as it used to be.... Still hoping to get xposed as soon a s possible. I'm rocking aosp extended on asus Zenfone max pro m1. Eagerly waiting for xposed.
Magisk is better than Xposed!

No, sorry. I meant that Magisk is so much better than Xposed so you don't need Xposed anymore.
Really sorry for this mistake.
For those very few who unlocked the bootloader of their 7.1 (e.g. through HikariCalyx), and want to enjoy Treble GSIs, this should help sweeten the experience a bit more.
This overlay was taken almost directly from PHH's overlay for Nokia 6.1 Plus, a very similar device, but the notch/cutout outline was replaced with one extracted from stock 7.1 ROM. As a result, it fixes notch (GSIs don't have notch provision by default), enables Always-on Display, fixes lowest screen brightness (?) and maybe does other things, I can't be 100% sure, but fixing the notch alone was good enough for me.
Just shove the attached APK into /vendor/overlay, set permissions 0644, reboot and voila.
And yeah, since this forum seems kinda desolate, I'll also attach a screenshot of the device running LOS16 GSI (self-built, not shared) below. It's actually quite usable, as far as I can tell the only device-related bug is that you'd need to eject/reinsert SIM on every reboot for the SIM to be recognized. Many LineageOS additions (e.g. Styles, LiveDisplay, Profiles) are broken (reason why I won't share the GSI at the moment), and Substratum currently errors out, but if you use AEX, PE, etc. and don't care about Substratum, then GSIs are in a good status.
That's nice @AndyYan,
please keep sharing progress, I'm interested to know when LineageOS for the 7.1 can be considered stable. (Not that I am really disappointed by the original ROM, it checks all boxes for me tbh)

I've already resolved aforementioned problem with the LOS-specific features and will post a thread in the Treble development subforum about it shortly.
To me, all that's left is Substratum. I can easily live with the rest.

I bought mine pre-unlocked, but you should contact Hikari Calyx about it.
Here's an updated version of the overlay that defines proper top/bottom rounded corners and landscape mode statusbar height - this would make the top corners show as rounded (instead of straight cut-off) when you choose "hide notch" in Developer options and simply looks natural.
The world of development on pixel 2 XL devices is huge, I have gotten used to turning on the flashlight by pressing the edges of my phone with AOISP rom, the problem is that I cannot change rom due to almost no developer includes the Active Edge code by Google licenses. Is there any way that I can install it through Magisk / Xposed, or anything on a rom that doesn't support it? I want to change to a rom that supports face unlock. From already thank you very much. And I thank with all my support to the developers, who do an amazing job, greetings from Argentina.

PixelDust has a working ActiveEdge that you can remap to do any action that you want. I currently have it set to squeeze for screenshots.
Forgot about Bliss, it has both as well
Title says it all, have seen lots of rumours that it might be enabled but nothing concrete.
It's already here with a magisk module,
I don't think anyone here knows anything beyond what's publicly known, which is that there have definitely been code tweaks that are geared towards face unlock, but who knows when or even if for sure.
As said, yes, also if you root you can use a Magisk Module to get face unlock.
Well, the code was added, face match is added on Google assistant but not working yet, everything seems to point out that will be implemented, but until front end setting's are added, we'll have to rely on a magisk module. My bet is that will be implemented in future builds, whether is android 13 or afterwards I guess we'll see
My guess is no, they are getting everything set up and tested for the Pixel 7, we won't see it.
