This tool makes OneUI apps work on Nougat ROMs!
Apps this includes (more may be added later, like Samsung Health):
Samsung Notes (works fine)
Samsung Calendar + Provider (works OK, settings crashes the app)
Samsung Gallery (works surprisingly good, haven't found any bugs yet)
Samsung Browser (works well, haven't found any bugs yet)
Samsung Calculator (works well, haven't found any bugs yet)
Samsung Email (works OK, settings crashes the app)
Samsung Theme Store (works fine)
Voice Recorder (works fine)
Samsung Reminders (doesn't work, doesn't appear as an icon in the launcher)
I've tested this myself on SEP 8.5 v4 ROM, feel free to test on other ROMs (should work).
NOTE: This is my first attempt at making a tool, I'm a newbie here, so everything I've just done might be wrong. PLEASE, PLEASE and PLEASE report bugs that you find and PLEASE help me with them if you know how. I WILL include you in the credits.

It's a nice idea and tool, dev. Unfortunately, I'm not using a Nougat based ROM to test it but it's pretty helpful for those who are using a Nougat Rom. Keep on your good work!
How do you have to install the apps? I have only been able to install voice recorder normally. They seem very good apps, but I do not know how to try them.

I don't think you can install them without signature verification disabled. You have to flash the zip via TWRP. Then it will be all fine.
Thanks for your interest!

It cant be ported. Samsung Oreo didnt even come out for this SoC so you definitely wont see OneUI.
For it to be ported you need a device with the same chipset to get the update and then port it for our device. Its not like aosp which is open source, Samsung is closed source.
Impossible

Like @garylawwd said, it's not possible. Samsung:
1. hasn't released open source drivers for us,
2. didn't release a phone that can run OneUI and has a SoC the J5 2015 has.
TL;DR: It is simply not possible.
I'm currently working on a Beta 0.2, which would include more apps having less bugs!
Maybe I'll add some new apps, too, like Samsung Health.
Some apps here like Galery is all black... can i change this?
Gallery can't find photo and video.

It'd be great if you would provide the logcat for me.
There are guides on the Web on how to do that, but it goes like this:
Plug in your phone to your PC
You need to have ADB installed
Run
Code:
adb logcat > file.txt
After that, try to open the gallery app on your phone
When the issue occurs, do CTRL + C on the logcat and send the given file to me.

Not sure about the Calendar app, but for Gallery, try installing this APK:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/personalization-service-client/personalization-service-client-1-7-00-7-release/personalization-service-client-1-7-00-7-android-apk-download/
Install the exact version I sent to you (1.7.00.7), because that's the latest one for Nougat TW ROMs.
That should fix some things including the settings of the app.
I am obviously lacking some information in the OP, so I will add that for now, but in the Beta 2, I will make sure that this will be installed by default.

All,
I've rebuild this rom from scratch over the past few weeks.
IMAGES COMING SOON
So, to the ROM:
As of now, the rom uses the Nexus One style Launcher 2, which runs incredibly quickly.
First of all, the battery should be better with this rom. I've modified some settings (such as scan intervals, etc) which should help the battery life. Please feed back on this.
WORKING LIST:
Gmail PUSH
Google NAV (Inside & Outside of the US)
Calls – perfectly
OpenGL 3D
Launcher 2 (Select Launcher instead of HOME on boot)
2G, 3G & HSDPA (inc. indicators)
Wifi
Bluetooth file transfer (yup!)
Network location
Accelerometer
Trackball & lighting of
LED indicator
GPS & AGPS
SOME Live wallpapers - Very few though
Gallery 3D
Market (all apps, inc protected)
Camera at 2-3mp
Keyboard with (accurate) Voice Search
Known Issues:
Camera above 3mp
Bluetooth Audio during calls
Facebook contact sync doesn’t work – as will all AOSP builds (there are plenty of apps on the market that’ll do this)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Run a Nandroid backup
2. FULL WIPE
3. Flash Vanillain1.1
4. Flash Update1.1b (ESSENTIAL, AS IT INCLUDED GOOGLE STUFF!!!)
DOWNLOAD LINKS:
Vanillain 1.1 (4Shared)
Vanillain 1.1b Incremental
I work incredibly long hours on these roms. If you like my work, please consider making a small donation. Thank you for your support!
As I have neglected Vanillain dev quite a lot recently, I'd like to thank QR for his mini-update. Please see the quote below:
QuantumRand said:
I've put together a bit of an update for the Vanillain 1.1b ROM. It's in the form of an update.zip, and a wipe should not be necessary. You can update it on top of the current 11b-signed.zip, or in place of it on a fresh wipe of Vanillain 1.1.
Changes:
-Facebook Contact Sync Now Works (you might have to wait a few seconds for the account setup to launch)
-Camera Works at 5MP
-Tried to fix lag when recieving a call
-New Facebook widget
Bugs:
-Camera might cause Launcher2 to crash when exiting
-Other normal bugs in Vanillain 1.1
You can download the new update here: http://quantumrand.net/xda/vanillain/Vanillain_1.1c_update-signed.zip

Awesome! Nice to see some progress on the 2.1 Vanilla front...
Feels like ages since the last update from either of the competing 2.1 ROMs here.
Will post my feedback here after some tests.
Sync to Exchange 2010 fine, but without callendar. This is for me the most important !!! (task too)
Hey Nathan, will you be only updating this ROM's graphics or will you also be updating it for bugs, fixes, and perhaps the camera problems too?

Thanks a lot for working on this rom for our devices!

I've tested a little and the rom is excellent! I have only one issue with Youtube app that the video screen is always black. Maybe a problem of the GApps.
Everything perfect except the battery life that is a bit short. However it is the first version so, congratulations.

If only someone figured out the right algorithms for the camera, life would be perfect. Maybe we should put Luckman on porting the Pixel XL camera to Lineage:laugh:

Id like to know as well, the sheer amount of links on the GCam page is really confusing.
I'm using the MiMax version which works well but sadly the portrait mode doesn't and you need to turn off HDR+ to get the fron cam working
Try the cstark27 one of the best fit this device, front facing camera is about the only thing not working but don't do selfies so I am ok with that

Hi on the chinese bbs.nubia.cn site you can download a custom rom with android pie and nubia ui 6.0 for the nubia z17s. I've downloaded and installed this rom with twrp. Installed opengapps (mini) and magisk v20.
So far everything seems to work. After first boot you will get some chinese screens (just push the obvious buttons and after that you can choose for english or some other languages.
bluetooth, screen mirroring, wifi, nubia camera, play store, banking apps, netflix etc. all seem to work without any problems. I've installed a Gcam mod and it's also working. I've used his rom as my daily driver for the last few days without any problems.
Only problem is the extremely slow download of the rom from the Chinese site and you need a QQ account which took me some time to figure out (but with success).
I'm not sure if I can share this rom because I didn't have contact with the developer of the rom .
Shure, share it. If the Dev don´t like it this way he can contact you to delete it.

On the techical side everything seems to work, fingerprint works perfectly, NFC i don´t know because I´m not using it.
Livewallpaperpicker is installed, now I can use KLWP
Deep sleep is working, maybe one can try the Vendor an Kernel with PT.
Battéry loss is 10% overnight.
Thanx again for sharing.

Okay, short review:
Installation is a bit tricky, I recommend Fingerprint setup after the global Google setup.

I used twrp 3.3.1.1. from 4pda https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h5-ITW_kdyyO_h8aylJji39NLlt2ots5/view
I use TWRP Exclusive by NFound - everything works great. http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=848164&view=findpost&p=80877748
Link for download - https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=287985
And little bit tried Nubia 6.0 Pie - http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=848164&view=findpost&p=80877748
The biggest problem is what i observed on every Nubia Color Os Rom: It´s extremly slow compared to PT Roms. Starting a third-party app take it´s time, you don´t believe this is a SD835.
This is a absolute no go for me.

Strange I used havoc 2.9 and Mokee 9 before and don't notice any performance differences compared to this rom? Which 3-party app is slow?
What could be is that Nubia is killing background services more aggressive? But you can whitelist apps!
I notice the battery consumption on this rom is much better than any rom rom I've tried so far. With PT roms I couldn't make it till the end of the day without charging.
