TWRP 3.3.0-0 decryption error, pie - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

I just flashed the latest Official Twrp from their original site and their changelog specifies that the decryption problem is solved but it still can't decrypt data on latest miui global beta ROM. I'm on 9.4.18 and i have to use orangefox recovery & why official twrp isn't supporting decryption, it still asks for password & fails.

If you're getting decryption error in some custom recovery than use orangefox recovery, it definitely works...

Modified TWRP taking too long to open - ver 3.0.2-1

I have been using the modified TWRP version 3.0.2-1 since OOS beta 7 (now I am on the latest Nougat stable build).
I have noticed that TWRP takes too long to open and remains stuck on the main screen. Is there a newer version of TWRP that supports flashing the latest builds? Do we even need modified TWRP now for flashing?

I used latest official twrp 3.0.3.0 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/development/recovery-official-twrp-oneplus-3-t3539129) flashing 4.0.1->4.0.2.
I have root and encryption and twrp can unlock the encryption.

MIUI 10 Global 9.1.24 ,,, ARB4 is already active,
1. keep latest copy miui10.2.1 in your pc / sd card ( RECOVERY ROM MIUI10.2.1 DOWNLOAD LINK <----1.7gb
2. ALSO for safty purposes, download FASTBOOT ROM VERSION OF MIUI10.2.1 ALSO, if anything goes wrong, fastboot version can reset Stock Recovery and persist.img also! (which is altered some times while flashing custom roms and/or GAPPS)
FASTBOOT ROM MIUI 10.2.1 DOWNLOAD LINK
3. I USE 'ORANGE FOX RECOVERY' ORANGEFOX 8.3 which is BUILT on twrp-3.2.3-2 --- (DOWNLOAD, UNZIP, USE THE .IMG FILE )
4. Buttt [unofficial] twrp-3.2.3-5 (OTA support for miui and fixed /data encryption for miui10.2.1, ) is released, orange fox is outdated but works very well, however you can use unofficial TWRP 3.2.3-5 also, I have used it, its okay! DOWNLOAD LINK TWRP 3.2.3-5
5. use gapps micro, as anything above micro, always flash pixel launcher! along with given launcher in custom rom, but its your choice
6. DONOT USE MAGISK 18.0,,, stick to MAGISK17.1, because 18.x uses different script to repack /ramdisk folder in kernel. so if you wana flash/test other kernels like latest DERP, Latest insignex, or Agni etc,,,, orangefox and twrp will give you error "cannot extract /ramdisk" ... UNLESS You RESTORE BOOT IMAGE from backup FOR THAT ROM (if you had taken backup at the time of initial flashing) or REFLASH the ROM.
--- hence i stick to magisk 17.1
6b . Orange Fox in Jan19 did mention that they are supporting magisk 18.0 script and once twice i was able to flash kernels also over magisk 18.0 but mostly i got errors!

To install no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip or not?

I bought now Mi Max 3 (64gb) with unlocked bootloader and installed 10.3.5 Global Stable ROM (10.3..5.0(PEDMIXM)).
I wish to install official TWRP 3.3.1-0 and to root it with Magisk, but now I am in doubt about no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip, after reading a number of instructions on how to root Mi Max 3.
Do I need to install no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip ? What heppens if I skip installing no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip ? When to install official TWRP 3.3.1-0 - before or after TWRP installing ? (Is official TWRP 3.3.1-0 OK, or you advise other TWRP ?)
Many thanks in advance for any help.
Don't install official TWRP 3.3.1-0! It is buggy, no encryption etc.
Only perfect TWRP is OrangeFox TWRP: https://sourceforge.net/projects/orangefox/files/nitrogen/OrangeFox-R10.0-Stable-nitrogen.zip/download

You can do this with OrangeFox...in settings....
Android is an operating system that gives all the developers access to new mods and applications to serve the user better. You can find tons of new mods that power the Android phone with features that it did not officially equip with. However, these apps and mods require you to have an unlocked bootloader and on top of a rooted device to get it running smoothly on your smartphone. And one of the important verification or security measures taken by the OEMs is the DM-Verify or Device Mapper Verify to reduce the risk percentage after enabling root.
Another important encryption is the no-verity-opt-encrypt which is there to encrypt the bootloader of the Android devices. Besides, this file is important for flashing Custom firmware or rooting.

I would suggest Ofox 10.0 as opposed to 10.1 as 10.1 sometimes returns error 3 or some **** when flashing some roms

Question TWRP not detect storage

I'm flashing TWRP version from official TWRP website for poco F3. Successfully flash temporary and make it permanent using flash this TWRP version.
Boot up to stock miui (im not flashing custom rom yet), work fine. I want to flash magisk, but TWRP wong detect storage or the magisk zip. Anyone can help?
Official TWRP doesn't support Android 12's Encryption yet, that's why /data partition appears empty.
You need to use unofficial TWRP "skkk": https://dl.akr-developers.com/?dir=skkk/TWRP/A12

What TWRP you have !
Sounds like your recovery is built for a different android version. Sometimes android updates make changes to the encryption process - this happened with A12 release, but not A13 - so if your recovery decrypts using the A11 method it will fail even with the correct pass.
You can either find a recovery built for your android version (look for A12 or A11 in the filename), or disable your lockscreen pass on your ROM which should get your current recovery working again. Don't forget to protect your lockscreen again when you are done!
