Ok, it's seldom that I speak ill of absolutely anything on WP7 but this game has just been disgusting. I've already complained to the creators of the game and have yet to hear a reply (perfectly reasonable given the time frame) but right now it isn't even worth 99 cents. Of all the poor iphone ports it is likely the worst. The first level runs smooth enough, just like the iphone version actually. However once you get into the later levels (3 and 4) lag is imminent and this has been tested on 5 different WP7 devices all with the same result. The buttons become non-responsive or you have to wait about 8 seconds after a button push for it to register. (This happens in the latter parts of the late levels) The "shaking" part is just disgusting, I have to shake all of my phones aside from my focus so hard that I feel like they're going to fly out of my hand before it registers as shaking and by then you're being so violent with it that you will likely shake one too many times and have to continue from your last checkpoint. I beat this game on android and iphone with ease but the WP7 version is a terrible port... Do not buy unless it is updated.
Issues with our app
We are looking into this problem as soon as possible. This is the first time we hear about this, and we have not seen this behavior on our own test devices. If you don't mind, can you resend your email? We would like to work with you to find the problem.

Certainly. my email is [email protected] The game is good, I played it numerous times on other systems but I have every US released WP7 device and it's occurring on all of them. It really seems that the shaking parts of the game cause the initial lag and then from there there is a snowball effect. I am happy to buy the game but in its present state it does need some polish.
Well, it's going to be a lengthy wait till we get the official release of ICS.

Now that I've experienced this gorgeous 720 display, I can't go back to any lower, but it seems to me with the way things are going, I wont hesitate ditch LG for any other brand once such resolution is available...
It's a shame, LG, you could've been great...
honest question-
why is this a bad thing? i mean, my phone works fantastically.
sure, i, like you, like to be a first adopter and enjoy leading-edge tech, but what's in ics that's such a leapfrog advancement above and beyond gb 2.3.5 that it's worth ditching a device that performs very very well?
again, honest question, i can't deny i've asked myself this very question. i just can't justify giving up this phone because it won't have the official ics for another 3-6 months-ish.
Well, for starters you and I have different level of acceptance. When I buy a gadget with $600 price tag on it I expect it to be working absolutely flawlessly, perfect, or at least not worse then 1 years old gadget. Nitro out of box might seem fast, at first, but it hiccups, screen and buttons are not very responsive (just tell me how many times you pressed back button and nothing happens, before you realize you have to press exactly at that arrow, which is nearly invisible until you press it (face palm) or when you press something on screen and it takes 1/2-1 sec before something happens? 1.5ghz dual core my ass, excuse my french), compass doesn't work, no notifications through headset (I've been using it successfully on 5 different phones). And if you start installing some basic apps, you'll see how quickly the screen become sluggish, in fact, my 1 year old HTC Inspire with single core 1ghz cpu has better screen response, smooth scroll, just like iphone and it's full with installed apps. Ok, it's could be the apps not optimized for such resolution, but wouldn't you expect hardware to compensate?
Said that I was hoping to see a quick update that hopefully would address all or most of these issues, but it doesn't looks like it's gonna happened anytime soon.
So, for the next half a year or more we stuck with what we got. Yes, yes, we all hope the developers will jump on and we'll see some roms going on, but it's not what I'm talking about, it's the whole official level of support, it's the "lets sell them this half-done product and maybe we'll throw them an update or two a year later" attitude. Other companies probably do the same and some even worse, but c'mon just look at LG Thril, these poor bastards have been expecting GB update back in September, now they have to wait another 6 month!
Of course I'm very disappointed about it.
Also when you use GPS navigation and car charging, this nitro will get very hot and it refuses to charge!
I also have Samsung skyrocket, the phone never get hot like this!
You won't need ICS if we can unlock the bootloader. Why is everybody fussin over ICS?? The custom ROMS would be way better than Stock Android ROMs of any version. Just to prove it to u, my Atrix running on CM7 could do about 85% of the things offered in ICS. When I looked at them showcasing the ICS, I kept telling myself, " I have that, and that, and that as well". Nothing is new, except the face recognition unlock and things intergrated from Honeycomb.
So, in my opinion, big deal about ICS. If it does take LG that long to release the update, then hopefully before the time comes, we can get better ROMs.
You are missing very important things about ICS - optimizations.
It's optimized for HD displays, hardware-accelerated 2D drawings (read as UI). Just this two are enough to be excited about...
@netnerd:
it does get very hot with heavy network usage (navigation uses both GPS and network alot, especially if you enabled any additional layers), however mine haven't gotten to the point of refusing charging, perhaps it's your car charger? If it's output only 1.0A, then it might be not enough, cause the wall adapter that comes with phone is 1.1A.
Also note, the "very hot" feel could be due to the metal plate around the camera which is much better heat conductive then plastic, so you'd feel more heat out of it then without it as on Skyrocket...

this in no way whatsoever describes how the nitro i own functions, i have yet to experience any of the issues you have.
also, i paid $150, not $600.
So, you never experienced any slows down or jittering when scroll apps list or text in other apps? It doesn't delay open any apps for you?
After hard reset everything seems to be smooth, very little jittering in apps scroll, but once some essencial apps get installed, the jittering gets more and more.
The buttons issue, is probably because of unusual layout, but the fact that we can't control lights on them and they almost invisible does make it harder to use.
The $600 is retail price, I payed half of that, but I'm not stuck in the contract. I only mentioned the price just to compare what they ask for and what they actually deliver for that price...

it seems to me that the phone gets snappier as the programs most used get used. sure, there have been slow downs, just now going into the market, all my app icons took a moment to pop on screen. i noticed that.
opera, gmail, all the apps i use pop up pretty dang quick, more often suprising me with their quickness v. slow. the scrolling too, i don't find troublesome. yes, over the past several weeks of getting the phone dialed-in like i like it there have been times that i've noticed this and that but now that i am getting it finalized, it is snappy snappy.
and i do notice that sometimes the launcher does not recognize my screen inputs, but the stock launcher noticed them quite well, but to me that just means the launcher is probably not perfected for such a fine screen.
re: the price. i see. even so, sure seems like a better price tag than the google phone. what's retail there, $800? and no deals, subsidized price is locked at ~$300 + i'd pay $20 more a month at verizon.
for me (i.e. not for everyone ) this phone *seems* to make sense. could be wrong but at the same time, we all know what it's like waiting for that super perfect phone.
I tried to stick with the nitro through January and couldn't do it. This news of pics coming in q2 justifies my decision to return it and wait for the galaxy note lte or galaxy nexus for at&t. Hopefully a few devs come along and release this phone from its shackles.

It's not even confirmed for the Nitro HD, instead LG said it's up to the carriers. It's only confirmed for the international variant, the LG Optimus LTE.

So it's even worse then we thought...carriers will only start thinking rather update or not their devices after LG releases the update...
That's the way it's always worked.
Sent from my LG-P930 using XDA App
Once it's rooted n unlocked, i dont think it matters if u use the optimus LTE update, does it?
yay for us! LoLoL!!!
I think LG is thinking all they need to do is put out a phone with monster specs and that's it, they're done. If it were a few years ago, before people knew that smartphones had an OS let alone know what 'Android' was, then yeah you don't have to care too much about OS updates.
But this is today and the Nitro is a competitor to the Galaxy Nexus. You better believe that EVERY OS update that comes out, the Galaxy Nexus is going to be the first to get it...So any 'decent' competitor should up it's game and follow suit closely behind. And 6 months later ain't closely behind.
I'm starting to talk myself out of the Nitro. My true love and want was the Galaxy Note but I got tired of waiting for a US release and jumped on the Nitro instead. But the funky menu/search button, no indicator LED, bad compass, sometimes sluggish performance, etc...
Unfortunately for us there are no rules or regulations how manufactures should handle their products. That's why they more focus on creating new models rather then supporting already sold, maybe it's a good business, but this actually explains why so many people prefer overpriced Apple products...In fact after playing a bit with iPhone 4s on xmas, I'd be sold for it too if I wasn't interested in doing something myself to phone system as we can on android platform.
im sticking to this phone for now, no matter wat. I will make it work with wat it has, n im sure, in a couple of months or so, we will have much more things with this phone. I mean seriously, this phone is only 23 days old, and we make it seem like this has been out for months and has no hopes of improving. Give it a break and show some patience guys. We are even damn lucky to get a permanent root so easily. look at the rezound, who's been out longer than the Nitro; it still doesn't have a permanent root. And in 23 days, we have the support of a couple of devs trying to get us CWM and several great users working hard figuring out the innards of this phone. To give u an idea, Tenfar did not even come out with CWM for the Atrix until April, almost 2 months down the road.
So you know wat, I'm not giving up on them. They've all worked hard to help us have a better phone, and I am not leaving them and their hard work to vain. I know it's about money and being stuck with a phone for 2 years or so, but hey, that's the price we pay as early adopters to technology. Want something proven and guaranteed, wait a couple of months when everyone already has the phone.
That's my 2 cent on the current situation; about ICS, about Unlock bootloader, about this and that. Things will improve in weeks to come, as long as we stick together and help, instead of complaining on how the phone is lacking this or that.
p.s. always remember, the SG II has a much lower resolution with same CPU, thus performing under less stress. And the Galaxy Nexus has a pentile AMOLED screen, again also using less power thus stressing the CPU less. That's where this phone is getting hit with lag and battery issue.
I purchased my Razer Phone though Amazon. Loved it right out of the box but noticed some issues. color glitching when the brightness adjusted and camera issues outside of the camera's known weaknesses. So I RMAed and and got a replacement. My replacement didn't perform as the first. Freezing in games and that color glitching was back but worse just less often. Double tap to wake also stopped it from charging. I was going to just get a replacement again from Amazon but I didn't see that option on the website. Only return.
So now I wait for a refund, pondering if I should get a different device or not.
The Razer Phone, should I give it a 3rd chance? 3rd time's a charm?
Should I get it through Razer directly? Amazon again?
I've had 3 now myself, last one had a scratch on the glass from new.
It really is hit and miss, the vibration motor on this one is horrible again - I just love the design too much to settle for another phone.
Wow, that's some bad luck. I bought mine from Amazon in January (still haven't figured out how to register for warranty) and I don't have any excess issues.
Go with something else. I've owned a tonne of devices over the years and this, aside from the awesomeness of having 120Hz buttery smooth scrolling and those brilliant speakers, is probably one of my most disappointing devices.
For a £700 phone...
--the camera is truly awful, no software is going to fix this
--you can see the structure of the display in bright light (really annoying and almost looks like a fault... it's not)
--proximity sensor bugs (you'll notice it if you make a lot of calls)
--certain games are buggy due to the refresh rate (if you use 120Hz)
--having the finger print sensor on the side WILL annoy you
--as of right now... there is almost zero development happening for this device - this could obviously change
Several software bugs have been bugging me since DAY 1, and none of the patches have fixed them. I've never had anything like that from other phones I've owned, with the stock software being super stable (especially with Samsung devices). If you want something with great features, great screen, fast, etc etc. go for whatever HTC come out with next or wait for the S9. They are always good, reliable and have top of the line features.
Ordered mine from Razer directly. Perfect delivery. Nothing wrong with my phone.
Camera is ok. Not great.
No software problems.

If in doubt submit a support request with Razer if you havent bought it from them, They will be able to tell you how to register it or do it for you but they would need a copy of the invoice/receipt

I do feel if your here asking the question you should give it one more try however with samsung new s9 and Pixel 2 there are other good phones out there in the same price range as the Razer.
Personally i think i would of perfered a better camera over the picture/sound/shape of the razer.
Been reading every review I've come across on the 20 U and they all have been saying the same thing, not worth the money, camera is barely better than 10, if at all. Has anyone cancelled their order because of this and going to wait it out? On the fence, as I've seen the pixel "getting fixed" , now several months later and still isn't. If anyone has come across a review, post latest update, please share. TIA

Nope. Because the reviews out at this point are early impressions based on not reaching expectations based on hype. Nothing ever hits that, and every phone review is basically the same as a result.
In the end, this is the best Android phone out there, and likely will remain the best for a year. Nobody else does "no compromises" phones anymore, because everyone else knows nobody will pay the money that it costs to do it. Samsung is the only player out there willing to take the risk of putting out a phone that checks all the boxes, and that's all I really care about - I am tired of paying close to a thousand bucks for a phone that has skimped out and leaves me wanting to upgrade a year later, and at this point in my life I can afford to pay more so I can just keep my damned phone for 2 or 3 years rather than regretting some annoyance 6 months later.
Nope, as long as it is better than my Pixel 4 xl.

I didn't get the impression that anyone was saying the camera wasn't better than the S10, only that the autofocus is slower. The camera is better than everything and on par with the iPhone 11 pro from everything I read.
Granted, it's hard to say a $1400 phone is worth it for the average consumer when the Pixel 3a and Chinese phones exist.
Maybe because it looks worse than my Note 10+ which looks worse than my 11 Pro Max which is king when it comes to video and night mode!
My delivery date is 03/17/2020 so plenty of time. Don't think that cancel button is going away any time soon. Real reviews will be live in a week running updated firmware.
After learning of the Samsung store's 15% restocking fee (!), I certainly don't want to make a $240 mistake.
Reviews are not horrible and everyone forget that phone is still 1 full week from officially launching. Everytime I get a phone on launch day, as it activates I get a software update. I'll be super surprised if there isn't a big update in the works coming in a few days
I'm going to try the phone out myself. People get way too emotional about new phones to give objective opinions and as others said, it isn't even released yet. I too have a P4XL and if I like it better, I'll keep it. I can afford it or I wouldn't have ordered it. I also just read Samsung's return policy on their website. It says you have 15 days to return a phone at no cost to you, shipping is even covered. I returned a phone a couple years ago and that's how it was. If that policy had changed I would think their website would reflect the change. returns

We know for certain that there's an update to let you turn on 120hz mode at full resolution, and one to improve auto-focus performance.
The auto-focus thing is not really a focus issue so much as an artifact that has to do with the larger sensors and lenses - it behaves a lot more like an SLR than a phone camera in terms of focal length and F.stop, and hence the depth of field detection needs tuning. It's the same reason that the phone gives such incredible bokeh even without turning on portrait mode. Think of it more like the transition from fixed focus to auto-focus cameras, and how people had trouble getting good shots in the early days. More savvy reviewers picked up on this and were already correcting for it themselves by the time of their reviews.
Bottom line is this isn't likely ever going to be as "point and shoot" as other phones are, but they can tune things better than they are now and are working on doing so. In exchange, when you go into pro mode you should be able to do a lot of things that you simply can't with other phone cameras.
Most of the negativity has been about:
Value for money
Specific camera attributes especially the worthiness of 100x zoom
Battery impact of 120Hz refresh rate
Size, weight, and protrusion of the camera array
Missing headphone jack
Boring and limited colors
My thoughts:
With $1K phones not so unusual any more I guess value is relative. With Samsung's liberal trade-in programs a lot of people are going to being paying a lot that than $1.3K.
From reading the reviews improved low light, excellent zoom up to 10x, and multiple ways to take everyday photos will make the camera great and a step up based on the way I use it. I do think some of the issues like occasionally wonky auto focus will be corrected with s/w.
I'll probably use 120Hz and probably have more than enough battery to get through my day. I'll turn it off when I'm travelling when battery is more important than smoothness. I'd bet fine tuning via s/w improves 120Hz performance over time.
I currently have a Galaxy Fold so the S20 Ultra will seem small. But for those used to big phones it's just another big phone. The camera array is pretty in your face but most cases minimize it. I ordered a black phone to help make the camera array less in your face.
Yesterday's news.
Whether black and gray are livable is individually subjective. Don't like black and gray? Don't buy the phone.
This is the first 5G phone that theoretically supports the deployed bands. That's kind of big and kind of cool. I'm on AT&T and cities I travel to have real 5G so it'll be neat using it. AT&T'rs with long term plans for this phone keep in mind their changing their topology in 2021 and it won't work after that. Other than that it's just another solid evolution of the things Samsung does well. I'm guessing for those buying it the phone's assets weighed against its liabilities still make it worth purchasing. To each their own.
How many people actually stop and write a good review, very few because they are busy enjoying their new phone.
I'm gonna rock the Ultra 5g 512gb.Cosmic Black and wait till the Note 20 5g drops and see how Samsung improves and streamlines from the S20 Ultra to the Note 20 plus, with the trade ins each time and the bonus credits of preordering,Still not a bad deal, plus 6.9 inch 120 htz.refresh rate.I'm perfectly happy with that.as for the bland colors I always put a case on it from day one so problem solved on that, but I dont mind Cosmic Black at all either.

Where did you hear about a 15% restocking fee? I don't see anything about that on the Samsung site (at least for the US Store) and I chatted with a Samsung rep who confirmed that there is no restocking fee for opened phones.

Samsung seems to have multiple FAQ stores, some claim 15% on most items, others don't.
I returned a S10+, and don't remember a restocking fee, but I also have problems remembering what I did yesterday so.
My new S20 Ultra is here
On Friday, I got my brand new, cosmic black S20 Ultra, to replace my S10+ and there is no doubt that the S20 Ultra is the best phone I have ever used. It is better in every respect than any other phone including the note 10+: The screen is unbelievable sharp with amazing colors and contrast. Camera is quick and snappy and the photos are the best I have ever seen from a phone. So, don't hesitate!! Buy this phone and you won't regret it!! I also got the best case for the S20, the Speck Presidio Grip.. Expensive but the best money can buy.. Go for it

i dont really trust the reviewers on youtube. there will always be criticisms to try to be objective. but all the reviews are subjective no matter what.

Honestly, I have not read any horrible reviews. What I have read are several excellent reviews that also mention there are some issues with the Camera - but which look like they can be fixed with a future software update.
Certainly, it would be ideal to get a new phone and have everything work perfectly - -unfortunately, that isn't reality. The S20 Ultra still appears be an incredible phone - it just has a few software issues that need to be taken care of. I am stil feeling really good about the phone and feel confident that Samsung will provide u pdates to otake care of those issues.

4G still good today. Also, 5G will not be avaliable in every country in at least 10 years so, unless you live in US or any country that has any plans of starting to use 5G in a short period of time (2-4 years), is pretty worthless. Probably after 3-4 years (being generous) you will change your phone and you would never have used 5G in that time.
Ok this is beyond a joke now. Why in the hell would these morons remove face unlock only to add the absolute worst fingerprint reader I've ever dealt with on any phone I've ever owned. I never thought I'd consider going back to pin unlock considering that even the door to my house has a fingerprint reader. What are your thoughts on it?

Sometimes I still pick up my phone and stare at it like a complete idiot for a few seconds before I remember that it doesn't have face unlock
Well people wanted it for when wearing a mask but this FPS is a disgrace. It was quicker lowering my mask and using face unlock then this trash FPS. I'm sure it will improve in time but I'm also considering going to just a pin.
I really don't understand this company. They add and remove **** on every phone they release. Soli in then gone, squeeze in then gone, face ID in then gone. It's ridiculous. But hey...we have a curved screen lol.
It actually is the worst FPS ever! I just hope it's not a hardware issue and can be fixed by software
Try to just lay your finger on the scanner, ever so slightly, instead of pressing. Helped me.
I agree here, Faceunlock was beautiful. In an ideal world, we would have gotten Faceunlock AND fingerprint scanner (back).

I really don't understand this company. They add and remove **** on every phone they release. Soli in then gone, squeeze in then gone, face ID in then gone. It's ridiculous. But hey...we have a curved screen lol.

Worst decision... Curved screen. It adds nothing valuable!! It throws shadows. It makes it hard getting a proper screen protection. Useless. Absolutely.
FPS is a good idea - if added additionally to face unlock. Sigh.
Mine seems to be getting worse. 2 full seconds to register seems to be the average if it actually works the first time. About half the time it takes 2 or more tries. I'm coming from a scanner on a 5 year old phone that just works. I told myself I just needed to get used to it, but the opposite seems to be happening. The longer I own the phone, the more I just assume stuff will work, so I'm less careful with the FPR, etc.
Mine's erratic with performance all over the place. Sometimes it fails, sometimes it takes 3s to work, sometimes the screen stays blank until I use the power button.

I agree with you entirely. I was strongly considering returning this POS and jumping ship to iPhone. I think instead I'll keep it and trade it in on an s22 or something. Not sure I can deal with iOS either.
If i didn't break my p4 xl...I would absolutely have returned this as this is an inferior phone in every single aspect other than the camera

When the rumors were flying around about this phone months back and it was mentioned that 6pro might have a curved screen.... I cringed.
I've got about 5 or so days left to return. I'm seriously considering it. First time ever with a pixel phone.. I can't believe they actually moved forward with this FPS. It couldn't have worked much better while they were testing it? I'm on the pixel superfan page on FB. Every post someone makes about the FPS Google declines to post it. Instead, they've put those of us that did in a different, hidden thread to talk about it. It's effing BS. They're hiding it instead of acknowledging it and saying they'll fix it.
I did find something that helps, sort of. I read an article about folks who have the animations set to .5 were seeing a bug where the fingerprint was gone from the AOD/lockscreen. Setting it back to default fixed it. I had the same problem, so I changed it back. The fingerprint unlock is a lot more successful now. Still total garbage, but better. Hopefully this helps.

Unsure if I will return my P6P. However, for my first in screen finger print reader, this can't be right.
The FPR is so fickle. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Agreed that if anyone spent any time with this phone, they would know to fix the FPR.
There are a few issues I hope Google can resolve soon: FPR, auto-brightness and antenna (if there is a software fix for antenna hanging on to weak 5G signals instead of moving to a stronger LTE when it is available).
yeah mine was returned yesterday back to ATT store for this same issue, used it one day and went back into the box most horrible FP I ever used, I had had to eat 55.00 restocking because of this crap oh well lesson learn!
Mine works just as good as any OnePlus phones I've had in the past few years
It's working very well for me but that's because my expectations aren't ultrasonic sensor ones. The accuracy has been very good but it's the speed that varies from pretty quick to 3/4 a second. Key thing is to press and hold until the haptics confirm or deny it. With that in mind I rarely get misses. Maybe a handful a day. Could it be better, sure, but it's not total trash.

That helped mine changing the animations then changing it back. Seems to be better, hope it lasts.

Wow... You loose absolutely all credibility when you say the pixel 4 is "better in every aspect other than camera". That is just an idiotic comment. I understand you can't please everyone and there will always be a handful of people that'll complain, but come on... You are being absolutely ridiculous.
BTW, not understanding how y'all are having the negative experience. Been using fingerprint since day 1, and maybe had 1 or 2 times where I had to try a second time to unlock the phone. Only negative thing I can say is it does seem to be slightly slower than other fingerprint phones I've used before. I'm sure Google will address it or someone will modify the kernel source to improve the overall speed. It feels like people expect to be 100 percent satisfied in every aspect and if something only reaches 90 percent, their brains explode and the world is coming to an end!
If a slightly delayed (we're talking tenths of a second) fingerprint reader is such a deal breaker and calls for all this complaining, I can only imagine how y'all deal with everyday life. Just saying.

Same here - my FPS is working just fine, maybe just a bit slower than the one I had on my OnePlus 7T Pro, but still nothing to complain about...
Fp working properly for me...
