I keep hearing that the LG G8 can do portrait video but I'm unable to find that setting. Can anyone help me?
I haven't opened my G8 yet (Tmo) but just like any other phone portrait mode is just the angle you're holding your phone? Im sure you dont need a setting to rotate it to portrait or landscape. Just my thoughts anyway.

Well rotate the screen, lock the auto rotate, enter the camera, turn the phone back to the position you want to hold it..
It should work?
But when i lock it, it automatically returns to portrait !
Hmm I donno then, it seems to work for me?
Would have thought it possible to do an app like that. Would be handy as hell thinking about it

An app would be perfect tho... or feauture of the camera..
Would be awesome if some1 developed this app
The funny thing is while watching that YouTube video. The playback does exactly that. Why not be able to record the same way, cant be that hard for someone who actually knows what they are doing.

Some app developers should be around here.... Or else does anybody know one which we/I can contact to make this app?
c'mon any developerr here??
I saw the sprint model has night mode but att doesn't, does tmo model have it?
Don't see it on mine

I guess this is the closest we get?

Wonder why only Sprint (maybe Verizon) have Night Mode and other models don't. From the reviews I've read, it is a missed option for taking low light photos and makes a difference that smart stabilization doesn't match. Added golf shot? but remove night mode, seems odd.
Anyone know if it is possible for a ROM to be made for the TMO version, but using Sprints files or just the camera app software?
Yes, you can pm your favorite rom developers or .apk modder to just get the application.

The TMO version has it. You have to hit settings first to access it.

It was already discussed that TMO has Smart Stabilization in a post before yours.
Anyone know how to turn off the feature that allows you to wave your hand in front and move across screens without touching it? I searched & still am searching for an answer, but any help would be appreciated.

No that's not true, the mini view feature works just fine. I'm not running stock the Rom at the moment but I can install it as a secondary Rom tomorrow to provide some screenshots if you want to. If I'm right you can just simply activate the mini view/one handed mode by swiping from one of the top corners down to bottom of the screen . I never really used one handed mode but I can remember testing it out.

Ah, sorry that I was wrong about how to activate the one handed mode. I thought I got it to work on the stock rom, maybe it depends on which version you run of the stock rom. I could be wrong..

Yes It is normal. I visited Samsung shop, and the guy there told me, this is a feature Samsung added. Anyway I do not hear it anymore. It is weird, and I am glad it is gone.
This used to happen on top Lumias in the past
It's to do with it trying to focus, it don't sound good but it fine
