Because of the lack of the restore feature in TWRP, I used to use stock rom + root. But then zip files roms such as PA, PE and LOS came out, which I wanted to try. I tried them, and they looked really promising, but I wanted gcam to work + other things. Because of that I wanted to reflash stock with Miflash tool. Unfortunately I forgot to uncheck the lock boot loader in Miflash, and flashed stock rom + locked the bootlooader. Unfortunately the rom keeps rebooting all the time(when the phone is searching for wifi). So now I got bootloop and I'm not able to reflash in Miflash. I can access fastboot and recovery.
Is there any fix for this, or is my phone bricked and cannot be saved?
Thanks in advance
Search for "Mi A2 Lite toolkit V 1.0.4.2". and select option to reinstal 8.1 stock after you can do the update and upgrade to Pie.
Thanks for the advice. Is is really possible to flash a rom from fastboot(with locked bootloader) with the tool you mentioned?

You need to unlock the bootloader to flash something on the phone, after you unlock the phone just flash the stock rom and lock it again (clean all and lock option). You'll have the clean stock ROM again.
That's the problem. I can't access the rom, so I can't go into settings and activate oem unlock and then unlock by fastboot command.
I've been researching all night, and several times seen the term "EDL Mode", which I probably have to use? My question in connection to that is, can I really only access it by opening the phone and so on(the so called pin point method)?

Hello Veran125,
Good Day !
I Am Attaching A Snapshot That How To Make Your Own EDL Cable. No Need To Open Mobile Device. I Do Hope This Will Work, If It Doesn't Work Then Go Ahead And Open Your Device.
At Least First Give A Try Before Opening Your Mobile Device.
- The USB Cable Has Four Wires : VCC (+5V), D-, D+ And GND
- When You Switch (Connect) Two Wires D+ And GND Together And Connect Your Phone, The Phone Will Automatically Enter On EDL Mode.
- Same Thing Will Probably Do When You Open Your Device And Connect Testpins Together And Connect Your USB Cable To Device.
Steps Are Copied From MIUI Forum.
Thanks,

So, i unlocked bootloader, tried to install TWRP 3.0.0 by berkantkz but it didn't work, so i used the gottlasz guide, after going to recovery i installed the cm 13 unnofficial rom by pvineeth97, after this the phone just bricked I can enter recovery mode (which is not TWRP) but it doesn't change anything, I can enter download mode, but after entering the usb connects and disconnects, making it impossible to use the LGUP. Is there any hope or I can't recover my phone at all?

I don't understand what do you mean by "USB" connects and disconnects? What do you see on screen after entering download mode?

After entering download mode, windows detects the phone, but after 1 sec it loses connection to the phone, in the K10 appears the normal download mode screen (after a little time, the phone reboots)

did you use the original USB cable of k10? try to use LGbridge instead since LGUP doesnt work perfectly with K10 because it so hard to find its DLL file. If you are using LGUP to flash use it with Uppecut Software to bypass its incompatibility issue search it in google and you will find it xda.

First you don't install twrp you just boot it from fastboot.
Other thing is that if you read any post in that thread you would see that everyone who tried to install that rom got their phone bricked, some of them succeeded to bring phone back to life, and some killed their devices for good..
So if you can't have stable connection via usb then I have bad news for you..

I don't understand why did'nt you read the forums before flashing it and moreover the ROM was just for testing purposes for advanced developers and it was clearly written at top of the page.
Hi,
My phone got a message about a virus which I assumed was a devious add, it wouldn't go away so I rebooted. It has gone into Mi-Recovery 3.0 and I cant get out. I've tried to connect to PC suite but it won't connect to my laptop
without debugging, which I can't do. I've wiped data but no good. Any ideas?
Flash full rom img via EDL mode and MiFlash software. Check out the official forums how to do it all.
For me the command fastboot oem edl works to get into edl mode.

Thank you for answering. I have downloaded a full rom and the MiFlash software. I have made an EDL cable but nothing happens. From what I read it says turn the phone off and connect the modified cable and it will enter EDL mode however it just stays on the Mi-Recovery 3.0 page. I've tried the command line you suggest but that can't find the phone. I've also tried the test point method and still can't get into edl mode. What am I doing wrong?
Sorry, I'm new to this so don't really know what I'm doing. Would you be able to give me some easy to follow advise or some links please.

You need your normal USB C cable. When you are in fastboot you need to type "fastboot oem edl" your screen will go to black and you are now in EDL mode. Now flash full img via miflash software.

When you turn off the phone and press vol down + power what does that do?
It shows the Mi start screen then boots strait into recovery Main Menu. I can't turn the phone off without it rebooting.
Does anyone know how I can get around this? I've run out of things to try.
Did you try reflashing the recovery maybe that fixes it?

Is there no way of getting out of stock recovery?
Maybe your volume rocker buttons are faulty .
Happened with one of my friend his device was only booting into recovery mode on reboot because vol+ button was permanently stuck ?
Try to lift up the button if it is stuck or
press button repeatedly for sometime .
Ashish 289, you are right, it was a faulty volume rocker. Once disconnected it booted. Thanks.

Hi all,
After reading many posts i got a little confused and i'm not getting any result. Please help.
What i want?: Flash stock rom and later consider rooting, and flashing haden or lineagos. (already found guidance but..)
The issue?: It doesn't get recognized through USB with my PC. (drivers installed, cable connected but...)
My questions? (correct me if wished):
1) In Odin mode (which i enter) is the usb port enabled by default? or it depends on the phone configuration.
2) In recovery mode i still cannot see the phone through the USB so is it open by default on stock recovery?
3) Finally can i flash stock rom i downloaded from sammobile through SD card? i found that to be my last resort but i think odin actual proper way or not?
I first thought it was the cable...since is not the original but it seems not be the case...which leads me to think its the phone's usb port....but with the cable i can charge the phone although i cannot see it through my PC.
So bottom line if the answer to my questions are that is always open (accesible through usb port) then it HAS to be the cable right?
If last quesiton is possible then i will conclude my searchings to be ended for now.
Thanks to all the posts within this tree.

Is it normal that when boot to bootloader from stock recovery the ADB console keeps <waiting for device> while phone actually boots normaly?
I found that bootloader booting is accesible through fastboot independently from USB debugging option...
I'm considering buying official usb cable but store guy confirmed it works for data/power uses...
There definitely is a way to flash stock via TWRP, i once did that myself. However you need a dedicated tool on the PC to create a flashable zip, because the firmware can't be flashed by itself
Edit: i saw that you have FRP-lock enabled. Search for a guide on how to disable it and try again

Are you on Samsung? If so, they don't have fastboot. Nor can you boot to bootloader. Do
Do you have the drivers installed? I have yet to see an unofficial cable not work for data transfer. Excepting damaged ones.

And to unlock the bootloader, just enable OEM unlock in the dev settings and it's ready to flash twrp. I remember when I got my Samsung and I was trying to fastboot unlock it lol.

So I downloaded pixelos and wished to revert to stock miui, i was using the miflash tool and in the first few seconds my usb disconnected. Then i could not exit fastboot no matter what I pressed. I've tried to flash miui again but am getting the error "data transfer error" and "data transfer time unknown". I could really use the help. Thank you
This kind of crap happened to my Redmi K30 Pro as well. The only difference is that mine did not turn on anymore after I tried to restart it. Both Recovery Mode and Fastboot are unaccessible.
I think there's always a risk going from a custom rom back to miui, specially so when using fastboot.
If u can access EDL mode either via touch point or EDL Usb cable, do that and try flashing the MIUI again through Mi-Flash. Make sure you're using the same MiAccount and hope they will flag it as authorized, otherwise you'll be forced to take it to a service center and have the whole motherboard replaced.
You can also use QFIL but that's a unreliable tool and it always spouts out Sahara error messages.

I am not familliar with EDL mode, any tutorials you know to get into that? I really appreciate it.
Google is your bestfriend. If ur going with touch point method, know that it will void the warranty as you'll have to open it and short the pins, to invoke EDL mode.
EDL cable is advisable so try that first and follow the instructions that came with the package. It's a cable with a button.

If u can access the recovery mode then try that first.
For EDL mode, yes you have to use MiFlash for this. Make sure you're using the same Mi Account that you've used when you unlocked the bootloader and do not remove the device from the Mi Account. This way, it will recognized it as authorized and it will flash successfully.

Hello peeps.
My Poco F3 got hard bricked after update froze (was doing clean install of stable EU rom). Phone won't boot into any mode, and won't appear on pc. I've tried sorting the Test Pins 50 different ways and it still doesn't get picked up by the pc. Qualcomm Drivers are installed. Device is connected with working data transfer USB cable. It definitely is getting charge cause Battery and CPU are hotter than the rest of the phone. I'm at complete loss, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or if I screwed up my phone that bad that EDL also doesn't work. Thanks for anyhelp!
1. Disconnect the battery
2. Make USB-Cable ready for Insertion
3. While shorting the 2 Test-pins, connect the USB-Cable
This is how I had to do it. ^^ This can be difficult and may require multiple trials, but this should work!
Windows should make the "Hardware connected"-Sound directly after connecting the USB-Cable, and show "Qualcomm 9008" in Device Manager.
If not, you need to repeat it: disconnect USB, short the 2 Test-pins and connect USB again. All while leaving battery unplugged.
Note: EDL Mode can't be bricked. This read-only Mode resides inside the Qualcomm SOC. There would have to be physical (hardware) damage for this to not function.
If you need more assistance or so, I can give you my Discord. Though you already seem quite far. Good luck dud.

I am assuming the phone screen does not light up at all, no fastboot or recovery mode.
This would mean the phone's hard bricked. It will require EDL flashing which can be done by someone with an authorised Xiaomi account.

Yes. Just to be safe I would flash the rom with "clean all" instead of "clean all and lock" if I were you. Then after booting up the phone you can later lock the bootloader safely using "fastboot oem lock" in adb.

In case of "clean all and lock" if something goes wrong during flashing, the bootloader will be locked and you will not be able to fix the phone. So it is safer to flash the rom first without locking the bootloader and then lock it after booting up.

Because if you lock bootloader while flashing a rom with a different region than what came in the box, you will hard brick your phone
