WiFi, Facebook, WhatsApp calling - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi all, I am wanting to buy this phone but have been reading that there's issues with WiFi calling on it. Has anyone experienced these issues ? Can you call over Facebook / WhatsApp when on WiFi ? As I will be travelling later this year it's important that this feature would work for me.

Help needed please.

My brother owns a Tilt 2 from AT&T, hes had it for about 4 months now. Today he started to have a problem making and recieving calls, some times he can recieve calls from people randomly but cannot make calls right after that. sms, mms, and MediaNet are working fine. We switched the sime card with mine and it seems to be a problem with the phone and not the sim card. Has anyone experienced a problem like this? Is there a solution? If so, Please help as this is his business phone and he needs it fixed by tomorrow.

[Q] only receive texts on wifi

Hey guys, I just flashed juggernaut 5.0, and I've slowly come to realize that I only receive texts when I'm on wifi, through wifi calling. I can send just fine, but if I'm not on wifi calling, I don't receive until I get back onto wifi calling, when I receive all the texts at once.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Try texting yourself on carrier data and see if that works. Sometimes simple things like that fix issues.

Verizon SMS over Wifi 3rd Party app?

So i live in a very weak signal area and as such love the ability to use wifi calling ( i couldn't talk on my phone at home most days before) but one thing that still bugs me is sms and mms. i have tried several apps to send text with mobile data off ( but wifi calling on) and connected to wifi to send but they all fail. even the Verizon message + app fails to send . Is there a texting app that will send and receive Verizon sms and mms over wifi? i have tried message+, Samsung stock app , textra , google messages and hangouts .. all fail. if i turn on mobile and am in a good signal area , they all work fine. i just need a solution so i can text from home with mobile data off ( essential off anyway due to aforementioned signal issue..
Do you have root?
If you change the build.prop id to another device (like a samsung tablet) then Verizon Mesaging + will let you send text over wifi.
I did it about a year back and it worked great. The deatails are buried in the note ii forum.

No sound on Whatsapp calling

Hi XDA community,
I recently installed nseven rom on my Verizon note 4. The issue im having is that i cant hear the person on the other side of the call when i start a call on whatsapp, Skype, Messenger etc. They can hear me fine, but i cant (not earpiece/speaker).
I found this fix https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/fix-whatsapp-callsand-voip-services-t3064132 but with no prevail.
I'm thinking about flashing another kernel.
Is it a good Idea? I dont want to brick my phone
Anyone out there able to help me?

MM Update: Group messaging & MMS doesn't work if wifi is connected

Hi folks,
I've got a new problem that started after I updated my D851 from (stock/rooted) Lollipop to (stock/rooted) Marshmallow.
When I'm home, I've got a decent LTE signal (ATT, though using the T-Mobile phone variant). But since I'm home, my phone connects to my wifi and uses it for data. I have no problem making/receiving calls or SMS texts to a single person at a time.
However, as long as I'm connected to WIFI (with my cellular signal present but not used for data due to the WIFI), neither MMS nor group texts work. In the stock Messages app, or the Messaging app I actually usually use, these MMS or group texts sit there as "sending..."
If I turn off the wifi, the cellular data signal is used immediately and the texts go through. Same goes for receiving MMS.
Again, this only happens since the marshmallow update that I applied a couple weeks ago.
I have not found a fix. I found lots of people complaining, and a few proposed solutions, like changing the APN so that the APN Protocol would be set to IPv4/IPv6 instead of the default IPv4. See here for that reference, though it didn't work for me:
https://support.t-mobile.com/thread/61843?tstart=0
Anybody have a fix for this? it's a real problem particularly for incoming messages. I can always toggle wifi off if I want to send something, but not knowing when something is coming in gets to be a problem. SMS from single conversations come through.
Please help me troubleshoot this. I've googled my fingers to the bone and while I've found reports of issues like this going back years, no actual solutions that work for me.
HELP!
There's one workaround so far... using Textra as the messaging app. It has an option called the T-Mobile Wifi Calling fix (in Settings/MMS/scroll down to bottom). Even though my wifi calling is set to off, since I'm on ATT, enabling this setting in Textra automatically toggles off WiFi to send MMS/group sms, and it does the same when it detects an attempted incoming MMS.
I much prefer the Google Messages app, for a variety of reasons, and I'm looking to figure out a real fix rather than this workaround. Any help most appreciated.
