My brother owns a Tilt 2 from AT&T, hes had it for about 4 months now. Today he started to have a problem making and recieving calls, some times he can recieve calls from people randomly but cannot make calls right after that. sms, mms, and MediaNet are working fine. We switched the sime card with mine and it seems to be a problem with the phone and not the sim card. Has anyone experienced a problem like this? Is there a solution? If so, Please help as this is his business phone and he needs it fixed by tomorrow.

Hey guys, i bought the international Note 2 and i'm using it on AT&T about 2 days after getting the phone i stopped getting SMS, I can send them but i cannot receive them. I swapped a sim in the AT&T store and it worked. 3 days later same problem and now getting a new sim didn't help. I can receive MMS and send MMS or SMS, I just cant receive regular SMS messages. Does anyone have any clue what the problem might be? Thank you in advance.
If you use different languages, make sure you set the coding of SMS to Unicode in the settings menu of SMS.
Other than that, check if you have this message center number: +13123149810
If still not working, someone else needs to chime in
Check your APN settings, settings->more setting -> Mobile Networks->Access Point Names.
Make sure these are setup correctly I wouldn't just rely on the phone gathering these automatically.
Are you on the stock ROM or have you flashed a custome ROM?
If you have flashed a custom ROM I would suggest doing a full wipe and re-test.
If that doesn't work I'll look at getting a new phone.
Hey man dont worry about that. My friend has a galaxy s3 international and had the same problem. It has nothing to do with setting or differents roms. It att issues. What he did was call att, after a couple of days the phone began to receive sms then again tue same problem. He called again and i am not sure what they did but after 24 hours the problem was solved. So just call them and see man.
Good luck

So does anyone have any insight on this topic or a solution? I have done a factory reset twice and even called At&T with no resolution. My phone was working great till a few days ago.

I have an international Note 2, also on AT&T. Post your APN settings and I'll compare it with mine to see what is the difference.
I'm having the exact same issue again. First time, I did a hard reset, and it resolved the issue. I don't feel like doing that again, so i'm on the phone with AT&T right now and we'll see what they say.
so... AT&T cannot determine why this is happening. I took my sim card out of my phone and put it in another AT&T branded phone (the GN2 is my work phone), and once I did, all text messages I missed came into my phone. I swapped the Sim cards back, and now it works as intended, and I'm receiving text messages again. The tech is calling Samsung now to see if they can offer any assistance.
Seems like whatever the issue is was resolved when I swapped phones. I figure it'll work for a week or so, as it did last time, and then will stop and I'll have to swap Sims again to perform a quick fix.
any Telecommunication guru's out there have any idea?
Figure I might ask this in here since we all have t-mobile Galaxy s2's. I am having a texting issue. I don't get all my incoming texts. It seems as though my friends that are with Virgin Mobile can't send me texts but then I found out that another person I know with T-Mobile are getting their texts. For some reason whenever they try to text i get zilch but they receive mine right away. I am getting my texts from everybody else I know without a problem. Has anybody had an issue like this before and if so do you know a way to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!:crying:

I would contact T-Mobile for that problem.
Hi all. I am not on AT&T so I apologize for posting here but I wasnt sure where else to seek help. Hopefully someone may have an idea.
I recently got a phone on the Pelephone network in Israel. It is a Galaxy S3.
I am able to send SMS texts with no problem. I am also able to receive texts from other phones in Israel no problem.
For the first day or two everything went OK but then suddenly I stopped receiving texts from my friends in the US. They receive mine, but I cannot receive theirs.
My company tried diagnosing this with carrier. They insist everything should work. All the right plans are activated, etc. They even swapped out the SIM. After that the SMS worked fine again for about a day, and then, like last time, stopped working...so people in the US can still receive mine, but I cannot receive their replies anymore.
They are replying in the same way as in the past (replying to my text) so it did work...it just stopped.
I have tried a factory reset which didnt help.
Any ideas?
Hey guys
I'm having an issue where some of my received SMS messages are getting cut off at the end. The last part is essentially being replaced with the word "null".
Details
-Happens on stock message app (regardless of whether Textra or GO SMS are installed), Textra, and GO SMS
-Affected messages are usually over 160 characters
-Not all messages over 160 characters are cut like this
-Has happened with 2 contacts, one on H2O wireless
-I'm using a rooted T-Mobile Note 3 running stock TW on 4.4.2 with the NE6 build and the NF1 baseband. Was happening before I flashed the new baseband
I've searched for a similar issue, but I haven't found anything like it. Do you guys know what it could be? Thanks in advance:good:
Wow, that's a new one to me....My first guess would be something funky happening on T-Mobile's end. Maybe call Tech Support and have them reset you? That's just a wild guess, though....

I'm having the same exact issue. On tmobile prepaid with my HTC One. No resolution so far with TMobile.
on tmobile chat support now, they tried to get me to master reset. been having this issue for a while now. thought it might be an iphone thing, but turns out android users also have this happen to their texts. im on the t-mobile htc m8 firmware 3.32.531.2 ARHD 22.2. will report back if anything is resolved
so technical care is looking into it. they said they will do something with my signal and monitor it for 3 days. ill get a call back when everything seems fine. will try to report back when they do contact me
ok so they said everything is fine on the network. all of the texts are going thru correctly so my phone SHOULD be downloading and displaying them correctly. so they said it could either be my phone or my sim card. they are shipping me a new sim card. if this happens again i will switch sim cards out. last resort will be a phone replacement. again i will try to report here any further info if anyone is interested
Same exact issue I've had for a couple months now and numerous others. New sim card or replacement phone didn't help (HTC ONE M8)- it's definitely something with T-mobile .. https:// support.t-mobile.com/thread/73266 an active thread about this matter too. They'll keep giving you the run like they've been doing to me the past month. ( i had to make space between https:// and support since I have less than 10 posts..)
I activated my ZF2 with cricket this past weekend (5 days by now) on the $40 plan and the service and call quality have been great. However I am still receiving messages on my old iPhone 4 and sometimes i can only read replies on it and they don't show on the ZF2. Has anyone else experienced this problem and how long should I expect this issue. The website states this should only occur for up to 8 hours.

Sounds strange. I just switched from Cricket, put my sim in my phone and everything switched over almost instantly. Old phone stopped working almost immediately after I did the activation and after a few hours things were good.
I plan on switching to Cricket from MetroPCs when I get mine in today. Glad to hear that it will work with this phone.
Are you sure you are not getting iMessages instead of SMS? Those will never switch...
I had this issue a while back when Cricket was Aio, one of our phones wouldn't get SMS messages... Had to call customer support and have them resend the port request (or re-broadcast something, I don't remember exactly), within a 30 minutes or so it was working.
Part of the porting process requires you to have your old phone OFF when the port happens, it should not be attached to the mobile network when the port occurs or errors can occur... That is why the instructions for activation specifically state your old phone must be off when activate the new SIM.
No delay with Cricket for me.
It sounds like the OP is receiving imessages. The iphone without a sim card should receive sms.

I think you mean an iPhone without a SIM CANNOT receive sms messages.
I have the same thought, that the messages are from iMessage and not SMS. I use Cricket and have no delays unless I am in an area with little or no reception (I travel a lot for my job so it happens from time to time). Back in the bad old days of Verizon I would sometimes not get texts until days later... ugh.
