Flashed Pie to Official pie - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

About a month ago I flashed the leaked beta version of Android pie to my Verizon Galaxy S8+. Now that the official version is rolling out, can I just simply check for an update on my phone or do I need to flash back to Verizon firmware? Thanks in advance.

If you're still on the leaked beta pie version, then checking for updates won't work. You gotta flash an earlier firmware that's bootloader 5, either CSB1 or CSA4. You can get it from sammobile. I think you also have to factory reset your device after downgrading or it will be stuck in a bootloop, then check for updates manually from your device and update to official pie.

Is it safe to flash a 6.0.1 full OTA after using a 7.1 developer preview?

I enrolled in the android beta program 2 days ago and I've had some issues so I want to go back to the stable ROM, I can wait a week more for the final version. I went to the site and unenrolled my phone but it's been 6 hours and I don't have the revert OTA yet so I decided to flash it myself from https://developers.google.com/android/ota. I was just worried if it would be a bad idea to flash the old ROM on top of the new one (I'd do a data wipe obviously). I have MTC20K downloaded and ready to install (that's the latest one right?)

don't flash OTA file it will most likely keeps crashing and won't be stable. Flash full image which will wipe everything of course.
Ok, thanks. I'm a little confused now because I have had this phone for a week and I took the developer preview because I was on marshmallow and didn't have any OTA available although I was pretty sure nougat was out already, and now I see that the Android 7 rooms on Google's site are 7.0 and the device preview on my phone is 7.1.1,so is 7.0 the latest stable release, or is it 6.0.1?

OK, thanks. Wonder why it wouldn't give me the nougat update before though.

Newer Nougat Odin firmware?

Hi everyone got a good deal on an S7 Active so I just upgraded from my S6 Active.
I noticed we have the first Nougat release Odin files QB2, but there have been 3 OTA updates since.
Does anyone have a newer Odin image file? QE1 would be awesome, but even QD4 or QC2 would be nice.
Thanks!
In fact, we can get full firmware until QD4, but it isn't for free, so I just download the QB2 for everyone to update to Android N. Then you'd better update your phone to the latest verion by OTA files on SD card, it isn't comfortable but for free.

Update from 8.1 to 9.0 while rooted?

How do I update to android pie 9.0 from oreo 8.1 while being rooted. I would like to clean flash but don't know if i should do it in TWRP (since i have it installed) or if i should install and update directly from phone updates and then re-root the phone?
I know this might seem dumbfounded. Appreciate the help!
I think there's a guide on the magisk GitHub. Check there first.
I got through it.
factory reset and fastboot flashed everything

That's how I would do it.
One of the best things about Nexus / Google phones is the quick availability of the latest firmware and that one can go forwards AND backwards with versions.
I was rooted on 8.1 and got an update notification to pie. I took it, "knowing," it was gonna fail like all the previous updates. Much to my chagrin, it took! I was surprised to say the least. I was rooted again in less than half an hour...

Galaxy S9 hasn't got Pie update yet

I have a Galaxy S9 which hasnt recieved the pie update as of March 2, 2019
Phone Info:
Baseband: G9600ZCSS3ARL1
Build: r16nw.G9600ZHS3ASA1
I got this phone from Rent A Center so phone should be unlocked. And I'm currently on Cricket wireless.
The problem is, is my wife is has the same phone from RAC and is on the same contract with me and she has already recieved the update. Is there a way to push the update?
That looks like the chinese version, no idea when those will get pie.

I downloaded a firmware from sammobile I used the phone info app and went to firmware and it gave me one for my phone but when I use Odin to put it on the phone it says mdm mode cant download or something like that
Here's the picture of my phone info and the firmware it said I could download and it takes me to sammobile. I've downloaded the one from the very top
Well then wait for the official OTA.

No OTA updates after installing 9.0 via Odin

I manually installed android pie to german version G960FXXU2CRLI and now I lost my OTA updates. It still sits on january 1st
I am from Croatia and now I am looking at croatian pie version G960FXXU2CSB9. Should I install that firmware via Odin and do I need to factory reset my phone even if both are same android versions?
Will I receive OTA updates in the future if I update to G960FXXU2CSB9 ?
I have the same problem. I'm stuck on December 2018 security patch level after upgrading to Pie via Odin.
