apps that are safe to uninstall via ADB shell - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Hello all, I have an G7 AWM version from Canada and I am wondering what system apps are safe to uninstall using ADB shell. There are a few apps which I don't want to keep but I am unsure if they well cause any problems if I go ahead and uninstall
they are these
com.lge.laot
com.lge.srtc
com.lge.ota
I know OTA is over the air, and I wouldn't mind getting rid of updates as I don't want them and can manually update or reinstall the system apps at a later time. What are the other two apps for?
Would also like to know what other clutter I can uninstall from the system apps

Do apps from a rom not update in the market?

My question is if I flash a rom and say it has superuser or rom manager. Will that app update like regulare apps I download from the market or is that something I would have to manually update because the market doesnt realy know its there?
I know if I download an app when an update comes out it promps me to update and so forth but when the app is already on the phone from the start what about then?
I am looking for legit answers here no speculations. I have already been speculating since I started flashing roms. The answers seems to be no, especialy since the new gmail app is out and I havnt been prompted to update.
Thanks, Thomas
A lot of the time you can just download them from the market and it will be linked from then on. Sometimes it won't install cuz the app is recognized as a system app. In that case you have a couple options I know of. If you have Titanium, you can either use Market Doctor to re-link the app to the market or if that doesn't work you can remove it with Titanium and just reinstall through the market. Root explorer or ADB are other options for removing system apps. Check in Settings/Applications to see if it will let you uninstall the app. If not, its a system app. Kind of all depends on how the dev put the rom together. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info
Now, if an app is already installed with the rom will it update from the market or do we have to manually update it?

[Q] Update to new market

I have lookout mobile installed and it never got the chance to update before my phone automatically updated to the new market. I have to uninstall it and reinstall it but it doesnt let me uninstall because i told it to not let anyone uninstall it in case i lost my phone and someone was to prevent my from tracking it. the app does not open i cannot turn off that feature. what should i do.
I'm not familar with that feature but did you try and go online and see if you can disable it from there. Otherwise if your rooted and make frequent backups you could just restore one of those.

Freeze or Uninstall unwanted system apps?

I usually just use Titanium and just delete the whole thing if I'm sure I don't want to use the app at all. I was wondering what was the general consensus for getting rid of unwanted SYSTEM APPS on a root phone?
anyone have anything?
I just freeze all of the system apps I don't want. At least with freezing, if what you did ****ed something up, all you have to do is unfreeze the app. If it's already been uninstalled and deleted, you're screwed, and you will probably end up needing to flash a new ROM.

How to get S-off?Rooted and Unlocked

I am needing help on how to get these stupid bloatware programs off this phone. When you are locked down with 8GB of internal storage, every MB you can gain back helps alot! It doesnt matter how many times I uninstall them, if you reboot the phone they come running back to steal up my MB's. This is why I should have went with a unlocked phone in the beginning, but if I can do it to this phone it will be okay. I am thinking that I might have to flash back to stock and do it right then but I know there has to be a thread out there or someone that knows how to do this...Thanks!!!
if you're rooted, just use something like root manager. I personally use even es file explorer with root permissions to uninstall system apps
no need for S-off. if you wanna keep them gone, you can try several things; first install this patch, then change all settings on playstore and software update on settings to prevent automatic installation of apps, then uninstall all those unnecessary apps

Why do we have to re-root the phone after each update?

I'm sure there's a reason, there has to be.. CM never made us do this, why do I have to reinstall the SU zip to re-gain root access after each new update is applied? This is especially annoying because each refresh adds back apps that I have used root uninstaller to remove, so it's a whole song and dance to go into recovery, establish root (including a few bootloops each time) and then uninstall those apps again.
Not sure what the benefit is for user or developer..
