Anyone Else Have Horrible Bluetooth Performance? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Greetings all,
I bought a new dead stock AT&T Note 4 and I love it but the Bluetooth performance is abysmal. Issues paring, contestly losing signal and a range on less than 2ft.
I've tried everything I know to fix it. Cleared the Bluetooth cache, wiped the cache partition. But nothing works
Is this normal for this phone? Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

I've had the same problem. I got this Note 4 from a friend, in a dead and unusable state. After replacing the motherboard and becoming addicted with it's lovely performance and screen, I've found that the BT is very abysmal, even compared to older BT3 standard devices.

Phone turning off by itself

Hey guys!
I have a serious issue here!
In the middle of the day, out of nowhere the phone turn itself of; i never detected that moment; all i know is that when i pick up the phone i find it turned off.
At first that happened when i was still running the stock ROM 4.0.4 unrooted or anything. The phone was in my pocket so i said maybe i touched unintentionally the power button and i dropped it.
However the last 2 days i am running a custom ROM JB CM10 flashed cleanly completely!
I am suspecting that this is no software problem cuz i know with software issues i elk have mostly reboots and not shotdowns.
I suspect that this is a hardware issue, most probably a battery issue; since after i return the phone ON, i can see the battery at 20 or 30% lower than what it should be!
I have wiped battery stats (i know that maybe does nothing) and wiped cache and dalvick and still nothing!
Any ideas/help/suggestions are welcome guys!
Thank you!

Horrible Data Connection on the HTC One X.

Hi.
I don't know if this is an issue with the phone's hardware or my service provider.
First my phone was working beautifully everything was fine until one day I accidently dropped my phone and after a couple of hours the data was playing up. But I don't think that dropping the phone would do such a thing.
Any suggestions?

Overheating and Wi-Fi issues on Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys, I've had a Galaxy Nexus for over a year now. Always been a very problematic phone for me I'm afraid...
Wi-Fi often doesn't work, the phone recieves signal but it's often gray instead of blue. It sometimes works for 10-20 seconds but then stops working again. Sometimes, Wi-Fi works just fine. There are no problems with 3G data though.
Furthermore, the phone gets extremely hot during most applications. Even some 2D games overheat the phone. It gets very uncomfortable to hold and games start to become unplayable because of stutter and low fps. Battery also runs out extremely quickly while overheating occurs. Interestingly, Minecraft works very well, doesn't overheat or drain battery too much. Casual browsing and watching 720p videos also makes it overheat.
Got the phone from another country, so I don't have a warranty. (International warranty is not really applicable in my country and it's been over a year anyway)

Is it the stock ROM? Which carrier? You could try updated radios and resetting to factory images. Who knows what the seller was running on the thing. Google has all the factory images on their Factory Images for Nexus Devices page (can't post a link, just google it)

Hey, thanks for the reply.
Already tried resetting to factory settings. I once tried to root it but it somehow didn't work. Maybe the OS was somehow damaged?

Resetting factory settings and flashing a factory image are two separate things. Sounds like you need to fully reset your phone:

Cool as the other side of the pillow...

I'm not sure where else to put this (I searched and found nothing) but has anyone else been impressed by this phones ability to remain cool to the touch? I'm using the stock case that came with the US variant of the phone and aside from an APN issue where signals were going insane and the radio tried to connect to a billion different towers, I have not once noticed the phone getting much above ambient temperature.
Is this normal? Can anyone else confirm that this thing just doesn't get hot?
I'm bringing this up because I've owned/used around 30 different smartphones from all of the major manufacturers and the vast majority get quite warm during several normal tasks.
For instance, on most phones I've used, if the brightness is up and I'm gaming for any extended period of time the phone will get quite warm. If I'm charging and browsing the web, most phones will warm right up. If I'm gaming and charging at the same time, things get toasty. If I'm gaming and quickcharging/turbocharging things get pretty bad. If I'm gaming on a "practically magic" iPhone while it's charging- forget about it. Same goes for most phones and video recording.
The Le Pro 3 has remained completely usable during all of those tasks. It's actually downright creepy being able to heavily game on full brightness while quickcharging without my fingertip being on fire within a few minutes.

This is supposed to be the benefit of the Snapdragon 821 processor; fast but at the same time power efficient....
I hear you. Playing Pokemon Go with a Pro 3 is smooth and cool, I can say that playing for about 10 minutes straight and it gets warm, but not hot. Unlike playing it with my One Plus One, a 5 minute session and it gets hot. This phone totally surprised me :good:

Obviously they've made strides, but its not just the chipset. Reviews of the pixel, ZTE and Asus 821 phone all mention how the 821 is better than 820 (lol, as in it can't cook an egg) but they all say it gets warm and the pixels seem to have significant heat issues.
The battery isn't getting massively hot even under quick charge despite being enormous and charging very quickly for its size. The screen doesn't seem to emit much heat either though it's not some AMOLED qhd monster but still. I mean it's obvious that the CPU is right below the fingerprint reader as it does get warm but nothing even gets what I'd consider hot especially for a modern flagshipish smartphone.
I've used supposedly power sipping/efficient chipset before as well as stuff like the original moto x which was literally a heat bomb and none of them have done so well. I'm sure it's not the actual best temperature that a phone has ever been but it's like night and day for me!
Kudos to Qualcomm or LeEco or the battery manufacturer or the screen supplier- they all seem to have gotten it right with regards to heat and efficiency.
I even have the speed up box enabled for all relevant apps and have turned off most power saving stuff and the phone is still cooler than every modern smartphone phone I've used including hugely underpowered ones.

Good to know, if anyone else has this issue - mine was deleting T-Mobiles default APN and making a MetroPCS one (incorrectly), then deleting that and having it automatically revert back to T-Mobile. Once I cleared everything and manually put Metros APN stuff correctly everything cleared up and has been fine since.
But during that half morning when I couldn't figure out the issue my Pro3 was getting quite warm and I was ready to return the thing. The issue remained even after a factory reset until I manually adjusted the APN.

My situation was different then. APN was fine but it somehow kept frequently switching LTE bands/towers my carrier offer which caused ever frequent signal fluctuation.
Nothing could fix it until I moved to CM.

P3XL Suffering from lots of random apps closing/freezing,etc. Any ROM that will help?

I have a P3XL that's roughly 1 year old. It's seriously slow and laggy and stutters like none other. If i'm in Chrome and browsing reddit, it can crash from having a long page of images open. Using simultaneous apps like Spotify and Instagram kills the phone. I was using flashlight and making a call at the same time and it crashed.
I originally used stock, that was the same. Switched to Havoc OS and it's pretty much the same. I can only guess this is from poor RAM management. Battery life is crap now too. Doesn't last me till 6:00PM on a low usage day.
Any ROM suggestions? Or is there something here i'm missing? 4GB should be enough... the P2XL was absolutely fine but this is atrocious. I frequently want to toss this device across the room.
You may have a bad battery which is causing voltage/amperage problems and glitching. If you've already done a fresh clean install of the factory OS and still have issues that'd be my next guess.
Did you regularly run it below 20% or until dead?
Yeah I gotta say that sounds a battery issue or something else going on. I've been running stock Android 9 rooted with Kira kernel for about half a year now and although there is still a lot of reloading (especially when using chrome or internet browsers with lot of tabs open) it's still snappy and reloads quick. I've never had anything crash.
Unfortunately I have no clue how to test a battery for proper amperage. I know 2 ways to get an estimate on capacity with accubattery and extracting it from a bug report but I don't know if that will help with identify it or not.
It sounds almost identical to the same issue I had with my LG V20 which was a bad battery that would randomly shut down with around 15-25% capacity left when it got that low and when I changed the battery it fixed it

I guess it could be a bad battery causing voltage issues. I have done a fresh clean install of factory OS, and still have issues. I would say i'm average when it comes to running it below 20%. I don't do that often, but sometimes it does. I rarely let it die completely.
Best scenario would be to go through Google Support?

Yeah, mine is crashing hard. Hard enough that it's one of the poorest performance phones i've ever had. And that's saying a lot lol.
I'll try to use accubattery today to see what I get. It doesn't shut down at 15% thankfully.

My V20 wouldn't always die at those ranges but it happened pretty frequently. Do you notice a difference with it plugged in?
I would definitely start from scratch if you really want to troubleshoot this. Backup everything then flash a stock system image from Google with the wipe all command and start from there and see. If it still does it then it is most likely a hardware issue.
Sounds more like a cache problem to me.....dodgy nand chip. Needs to be replaced no matter whats causing it. If you cant get rid of it after trying everything including swapping the active boot slot from a to be or vise versa
