Is there anyway to enable/disable GPU rendering only on a certain apps?
A lot of apps benefit from enabling this feature. For example, scrolling is significantly smoother in the facebook app with force GPU rendering enabled. But at the same time, many apps that I use won't launch with it enable (e.g. Tiny Tower, which I play all the time...)
Rather than having to go into settings and switch it on/off between apps, is it possible to have a app or be a feature of a custom rom to specific which app to launch with force GPU rendering?
from my understanding this is not possible.
one could write some scripts to add this functionality and use them in a custom rom, but not sure if its an easy task.
Hi guys
Recently I just found when I have my softkey disabled, the touch screen and system performance drop significantly
So here's a video I recorded
You can see with softkey the frame rate is at around 60
And when I switch to immersive mode(Yes,both disable or immersive are the same),it starts to lag and stutter
Maybe this is not an issue for most of people
But for people like me who prefer using Pie or LMT,it is pretty painful
I wonder if we can fix it with some tweaks?
Perhaps it's a immersive mode issue. Try "auto hide soft keys" app from the play store. I use it, and it has never caused issues. ?
I prefer LMT pie as well but never run into a problem with lag
I need your advice about how to get such a basic usability feature.
Not to toggle auto-rotation, but directly toggle between portrait and landscape.
Auto-rotation is evil, try to use the phone laying on your side. So we need a fixed orientation and a convenient way to toggle it.
GravityBox allows to assign action to fingerprint (only to specific fingers).
But the main problem is how to find an application (xposed mod, magisk mod) which can flip the orientation, by running app, or running its activity or somehow.
Xposed additions seems to fail on Oreo, what to use?
"Rotation" offers the funcionality you are looking for. The paid version also adds a tasker Plugin so you can set up a Task that will change your Orientation and set the GB fingerprint launcher to execute said task. I personally use the fingerprint launcher to bring up an Xposed edge panel that includes seperate buttons for normal, force landscape and force portrait.
This solution is not free, but it works flawlessly.
I figured out that here would be the best place to ask.
I am struggling with the crappy fullscreen mode in landscape - the area around the camera is always either black or white. Did some tests - the most of the apps to not utilize the screen, where only the notification bar (being on the long side in landscape mode) does. Strangely enough, Google Maps and Google Translate DO utilize the whole screen in landscape mode, where as hangouts or gmail don't. This is with setting for full screen apps.
Did some reading and it seems like there are 2 ways - either the app forces the fullscreen or the OEMs. Did some tests with my own app at it looks like the only way for the app to appear fullscreen is to be allowed in the app. Is that so?
Does Gmail also have this blank area on other phones?
As you say, some apps use the full area, others don't, I believe the issue resides in the apps, not the device
Anyway to run app in fullscreen mode? Many apps are not in the fullscreen dislay in dislay setting
