Aside from the major issues that some (But certainly not all) people have been having with corruption/screen flicker there are still quite a number of minor issues that could do with a bit of work.
Live wallpaper bug w/ Rosie
Certain games that should not lag end up lagging (Despite CPU usage being quite low throughout). A good example of this is stair dismount. Shadowgun THD on the other hand runs smooth as butter. Obviously, a driver update is necessary.
Although very infrequent, the interface stutters from time to time. HTC need to fix 2D hardware rendering.
HTC Gestures causes far too many issues. It needs to be fixed, not just disabled.
Camera framerates can dip even in good lighting conditions. HTC needs to either up the bitrate or find some other way of increasing framerate. The phone and sensor are certainly capable of it.
The stock android widgets are incredibly laggy and don't update properly (The GMail widget in particular). The Sense mail widget is fine so it's certainly not for lack of performance.
If anyone else has any issues (EXCEPT FOR SCREEN FLICKERING as that doesn't affect everyone) could you please add to that list so we can send it to HTC?
I know this has been said in many threads. But the laggy scrolling between homescreens is driving me nuts. Its not bad unless you have a lot of widgets. This is even using HTCs wigets.
Download Apex and add as many wigets as you want. Smooth as butter. So the phone is more than capable of handling this.
Also - When using live wallpapers the animations stop for a sec when swiping between homescreens. This also should not happen. It also works flawlessly on apex.
I wish they would fix the unresponsive screen issue. Can't tell you how many times over the last few days I've nearly thrown the damn phone up a wall while trying to play a game and the screen has stopped registering 1 or all touches
Have you turned off HTC Gestures? I had the exact same problem until I turned it off.
-Double push headset button to skip song
-Bluetooth Audio lags
-Option to change multitask button en disable on-screen menu button
-MUCH better performance
-MUCH better power management
-Browser lags!
-Camera sensor is véry high-end, so somehow it must be the software that makes the picture look worse than my old SGS II camera. (both on default setting)
Please HTC don't dissappoint us, the hardware is perfect so don't screw up the software
Hi like many I use the mx pro player for watching videos, the swiping up on the left hand side of the screen whilst watching a video shd change the brightness but for some reason left and right swipe up controls the volume.
Am I doing anything wrong? I gone thru all setting still no joy can anybody hive any suggestion...
Thank you in advance to all that reply

Maybe you need to change the brightness setting to manual and not auto.
Brightness setting is set to manual

MXplayer swipe brightness control was working before I rooted. Now its not. I'm having some other issues with browser2ram so I am going to disable that and see if its the culprit. Installed another brightness swipe control from market and it works fine. BSplayer also fails to swipe control brightness after root. Anyone got to the bottom of this yet?
UPDATE:
I found out that two apps I run were causing the problem. Backlight Switch and Display Brightness. The latter was the one I just installed from the market from the post above. When either of these were loaded at boot then neither MX or BS Player's swipe brightness works. If I disable them as startups (need root) then swipe brightness control works again for both apps.

I thought I found something like that in the settings, but now I can't find it. Maybe that was BS player. One of the two had an option to change the default swipe side for volume and brightness. Does swiping up on the right side control the brighness? If so, maybe they are switched in the settings.
All-
I was having so many problems with both MX and BS players over wifi, and in my exhausting search and troubleshooting, I came across a BETTER PLAYER hands down. Check out Dice Player. Works for me in all cases and I can have other brightness control apps loaded and its swipe brightness control is unaffected. Great app. I don't use the other two any more.
Clear data of the application in app manager hope it work
Problem solved for me
Hi!
I had the same issue: no videoplayer was able to adjust brightness by swiping on the screen. All this went away after I unnistalled an app called "floatifications".
Hope this helps you, too!
I have the same problem on my Note 2. I don't have any kind of app like floatification in this topic. Any solution?
Try locking the input using the lock button given by MX player (not the physical one on the phone).
I've also been having this issue recently where the brightness isn't affected unless I lock the input. Unlocking will reduce brightness again.
Try uninstalling any ram booster application.
I had the same problem wit my mx player too and started removing apps to check any compatibility probslem and foumd out that if i install any sort of ram boosting software the brighness control stops working....
Unfortunately , I have same problem with my Nokia Xl phone , in the past it was responding very well to adjust brightness level, but now it is'nt responding like it was in the past!! .
I think that maybe a problem in the room itself, and maybe it is caused by do root wrongly .
Hello everyone,
I just got my G4 and haven't really had a huge chance to test out the camera, which I can't wait to do. Nonetheless, just doodling around without, I have noticed some annoying issues.
-Trying to manual focus as far away as possible consistently crashes the camera app.
-Auto mode is extremely fluid and smooth, but switching to manual causes the app to lag a bit and the viewfinder to drop some frames
-Settings through the lil gear in all settings appears to be cut off (http://imgur.com/vawoxSR). It sort of seems like I should be able to scroll left and right or up and down through the settings bar, but it does not move.
That's all, nothing huge. Just thought I would see if anyone had had similar experiences or found any fixes.
You have changed the dpi, try to install xposed and then the module app settings (for lollipop version search on the official thread, if I'm right is on post #1847 here on xda) and change the dpi for the camera app back to 640 that will solve both issues.
Thanks a lot, that fixed it and makes a lot of sense in retrospect haha
this might be a weird problem or question, but I have this random blue light flashing slowly over navigation bar when I'm on a game in landscape screen, such as Heir of Light or Mobile Legend. I use the hidden navigation bar type instead the one that taking extra space. I wonder if it's coming from 3rd party AoD I used before, such as Notification Light or Always on Edge, but I have them both uninstalled already, I wonder if it's coming from them because previously I never saw this blue light over my navigation bar. I noticed several things about this light:
This light appears few seconds after I opened a game that is on landscape mode which hides the navigation bar. The light will flow surrounding the navigation bar area for around 2 times then it will disappear completely.
It only appears once on every restart, so if I open the same game later, it won't show until I restart my phone and open the game again.
I've tried to see if it comes in other app so I tried on Whatsapp and Firefox browser on landscape mode but the light didn't show up at all
I'm concerned with the battery this light consumes so I also checked what's running my battery life but I didn't find any unusual app running or hard-consuming my battery
Does anyone have any idea what this light is? or anyone else having this problem? What I want to know is where this light is coming from and is there any way to turn it off? because I really don't like unnecessary app consumes by battery...
I have attached a screenshot about how it looks like, any kind of help would be appreciated.. thanks in advance
SOLVED:
Thanks to chirogan that mentioned this is actually coming from the Game Booster feature

While playing a game, make the navigation bar appear and youll see a game booster icon in the lower left corner. Click on it and youll see monitoring temperature and memory icon. Click on it. Then click on Auto Control and disable it. Youll notice that the blue light will be gone because it doesnt optimize your apps anymore.

It's a possibility.. but this light doesnt just show on any app.. it only appears on games that take landscape and full screen that force hide the navigation bar.. I tried to see if it appears on YouTube app but it didnt.. it also doesnt show on portrait games.. im wondering if this has something with Game Tools or Game Booster or anything that triggers when the user plays games on full screen to let them know 'where' the navigation bar is but not sure yet Beside, if it's from firmware, I expect to already see this light from the latest OTA I got on September, instead I only noticed this light few days ago when I also happened to try some 3rd party AoD apps, which also I uninstalled immediately after play around and checking out how they look

Have you rebooted your phone after uninstalling those apps?
Look for a app called "Game Launcher" it may have some settings ticked to do that.

unfortunately I already disabled Game Launcher since long ago and still never saw the blue light. nonetheless, I just checked the Game Launcher to make sure, but there is no option related to that blue light on navigation bar

Are you using any of those GoodLock apps? If I am not wrong there was something like this in one of those apps.

I am using some of GoodLock apps I got from https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a70/themes/appssamsung-goodlock-2019-pie-apps-t3958121 , but not all of them. only these:
LockStar - for Lockscreen style
NiceShot - for Screen recording
QuickStar - for Status bar and Notification style
ClockFace - for custom clock on lockscreen
I also got One Hand Operation+ but it's from Galaxy Store. I could understand if I have some GoodLock apps for navigation bar, but I didnt install NavStar or any 3rd party app for navigation bar since I dont use the "button" style at all because it's taking more space of my screen

Can you try to disable or uninstall One Hand Operation+ to be sure? I think it causes it.

Its not a bug. Its an application called Game Booster.
What Game booster does is to control and monitor the Temperature and Memory. Once it detects that the application is heating or consuming too much memory, it optimized the phone by closing apps, adjusting brightness and other things that god only knows what. This is to prevent your app from over heating and forcr closing due to memory issues. Once optimization occurs, thats when the blue light over the navigation bar appears. In theory, it does the opposite of what you think. It optimizes the phone in such a way that it prevents abnormal usage in battery and memory to give the best experience in gaming. But sometimes it compromises the app by throtthling the game when it needs a boost in CPU and GPU. It depends on the application on when youd like to activate or disable this feature.
Do you want to disable it?

Edit: out of topic question. Do you experience frame drops in mobile legends? Especially when switching from one app then back to mobile legends?

Thanks for this.. it's just as u said, the blue light is coming from the Temperature Control, once I toggled the auto control on/off the blue light is there.. now that u mentioned it I remember I recently updated Game Booster few days back.. Now I know where the light is coming from.. Thanks again.. :fingers-crossed:
I used to get lot of Frame Drop few weeks ago after this latest update with the "new form of spells", I could barely play anything.. but I didn't do anything tbh and just keep playing until now, and it's way better now. There is still some Frame Drops but it's only when super heavy stuff going on at once in the game, compared to the first time I experienced it, it's so light now even tho I didn't try to do anything to fix it.

Thanks for the confirmation too. I used to have a lot of frame drops but it was due to Game Booster and Game Optimizing Service not working well. After the update, it improved the performance significantly but there was only one bug left. It was when switching from the Game to another app, then going back to the game, it causes the game to start frame Dropping.
Hopefully it makes the update better on the coming days.
Hi Guys, so I've increased the dpi to custom under developer settings to 581. Everything seems to work great except for touch position on the dialer and it's pretty irritating. Anyone knows a solution to this or to selectively reduce the dpi on tbe dialer app? I'm not rooted. Look at the screenshot of the issue. Thanks!
I use 589, and no issues, but with 600, the notifications panel becomes very narrow, but no issues with anything else
i use 480 w lowered font size and "fineprint" font.... everything works perfect

Tried 589 and same issue. Can you confirm you don't have the issue on your dialer? Weird why this would be.
I just double checked, at 589, the dialer is normal, but, I have the screen resolution at wqhd+, fhd gives me some troubles in the zone of the nav bar, and I say zone because I hide the nav bar, gestures work ok, but, buttons appearing there become unresponsive, the same for the bottom row of the keyboard

For some reason I still have the issue in the OP screenshot. I've resorted to 520 now with QHD+, things are slightly better on the dialer but still largely the same.
