Hi, on my TA-1068, I have turned off Find my device option and have disabled all device administration apps. The problem is that after every reboot of the device, Find my device is again activated as a device admin app (still switched off as an option) and I have to deactivate it manually every time (hopefully this is not often). Is this a bug or something? Anyone else have this problem?

I cannot enable remote wipe via Android Device Manager. When I try, I get to the screen where I am prompted to activate Android Device Manager as a phone administrator. When I press activate I am returned to the Android Device Manager screen with the box remaining unchecked.
The problem is that the phone will not allow ADM to gain administrative rights. If I go to security settings, phone administrators, I see ADM in there unchecked. But I cannot check it.
I am using the fingerprint scanner for security. I am wondering whether there is a glitch that if you use fingerprint security it will not allow ADM to enable itself as a phone administrator. Doesn't make sense.
I want to be able to remote wipe the phone but cannot enable the feature.
Ideas?
This has been resolved with a factory reset (in case anyone else runs into it)
Hi Guys,
My OnePlus 3 ist rooted, open Bootloader + TWRP.
Oxygen OS 3.2.4 is running. First time I used the device, encryption was offered to me - so I set it up.
I than used the phone for about 2 months, always had to enter a Passphrase when I rebootet.
I noticed, that if I use TWRP I can browse through my personal files without entering any credentials.
System-Preferences says: "Phone Encrypted".
Do you have any suggestions for me?
I´ve found the solution by myself.
Anyone who is having the same issue, read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/help/questions-encryption-unlocked-op3-t3427360/page2
You have to set up the display security again and activate the checkbox "PIN/Passphrase is needed to start the device".
Hi,
I'm facing serious problem with freeze and reboot frequently :crying:
My Gemini PDA is Japanese keyboard layout and 4G+WiFi type.
I tried to do following action for checking what root cause is.
- I removed microSD card and SIM card
- I rebooted by manual and connect to WiFi network.
But nothing was changed.
I also tried a soft reset from "backup and reset" -> "data reset" in Android OS settings but nothing was improved.
Does anyone have similar or same problem like me?
One more thing:
Planet Computer support suggested me full factory reset.
But I could not find how to do it. I tried it by pressing both ESC(power) button and side button simultaneously
but there is no available command like full reset.
Any suggestion or information is welcome!
Best regards
Akira
additional info.
I tried to find when freeze problem happens as following.
1) Input method conflict
1st time, I installed Google Japanese language input and activate both Google's and Gemini keyboard input. This may make conflicts and freeze problem was happened.
I disabled Gemini keyboard input and leave Google's input as active.
It looked reducing the error rate but not fixed yet.
2) Evernote app
When evernote app syncs with cloud 1st time, freeze problem happened. This happens only once.
3) Playing movie file from google photo app
Some times happens.
4) initial setting up
So I did reset of my data and apps on Android OS.
But reboot problem might be getting worse.
Inputting my google account like "[email protected]" but frozen and reboot happened before inputting "@" character.
I tried to find root cause by removing SIM card but the problem happened again.
I asked my Japanese Gemini users if they are facing similar problem but no one faced the problem.
reflashing image but nothing changed
Hi,
I got suggestion from Planet Computer's support team that flashing image might fix the problem.
I tried it but nothing was improved.
I already sent the result to team. I hope they will pick my pda up then replace it.

By the way, it does not need install flash tool driver if you use Windows10.
Just launching Flash tool works without installation of the driver.
As far as I know, almost nobody else in Xda forums, besides me, seem to talk about this LineageOS bug (perhaps because pretty nobody else fiddles with Privay Guard settings), but it does exist (I´ve read on the internet quite a few reports on this issue). Nevertheless, by sheer luck I've discovered a workaround and I'm willing to share my experience with others.
Even if you´re just curious, the bug is very easily reproducible: Settings --> Privacy&security --> Trust --> Privacy Guard --> Whatsapp (other apps may serve too, but this one for sure) --> External Storage write (or read) permissions --> select "always ask". Now reboot. (WARNING!! DO NOT do this unless you´ve previously done a nandroid backup!!). You'll then get into a bootloop. An infinite bootloop, actually. Why?
Well, LOS 15.1 has a bug concerning ¨ask always¨ permissons for External Storage write/read), causing the system to freeze at reboot time. If the app for which you´ve changed those permissions is NOT set to start at boot time (rarely, because most developers, in their insurmountable egomania, tend to think their apps are the most important in the universe), you may be lucky. Otherwise, the bug prevents the system to successfully boot and, after a few minutes´ long freeze, it shuts down by itself, then tries to boot again; but because it never manages (programs are silly: they don´t think: they´ll never realize the problem), you get into the infinite bootloop I talk about. So, how do you get out of this?
I confess I´m a total ignorant of Android. I just happened to find out this solution by sheer luck. Proceed as follows: while your phone is rebooting, during any of the infinite bootllops try to enter Safe Mode (check online for your phone´s Safe Mode howto). If you manage to, your system should boot fine into Safe Mode. Now, go again to Privacy Guard and set your culprit app´s write/read External Storage permissions to either ´allow´ or ´deny´ (in other words: NOT to ´always ask´). Now reboot, and everything should work fine.
That´s it! Don´t ask me why. I just know the bug exists and this is the less traumatic way of getting out of it.
I hope this information will help somebody!! Cheers.
the bug can be reproduced on Lineage OS 15.1 (lineage-15.1-20180827-nightly) on a Nexus 5X.
hope it'll be fixed soon.
Same bug on 20181126 build.
Privacy guard blocked my devices. Disabling all "always ask" for read/write permission solved.
Thanks for the report and your suggestion.
You saved me from a format.
Thanks
I'm currently with an A52S 5G, coming from several Xiaomi phones (mix 2s, mix 3 and poco F3).
I use Hiby music player and when I try to delete song through the app, the app request permission to the storage/SDcard, but when i press the button, nothing happens. In the xiaomis it opened the file explorer and i could grant access.
I contacted Hiby and was told that was a samsung permission issue.
How can i fix this? Any ideas? Anyone has sucessfully done it? Are there any work arounds?
While this function is not crucial for me (i can still acess the storage with my files and with total commander) it was quite useful to physically delete the songs that i dont like, dont hear anymore or are just duplicated.

I can't guaranty this will work for sure but maybe you could try to go to your phone Settings - About of Phone - Software information - Version number. Type seven time on Version number and the Developer mode will be available. Get back and below the About your phone you should find a new option tab "Development options".
In this tab you should find "Force applications authorization on external storage".
Titles may not be exactly what I wrote as I translated them from my french phone...
Click to collapse
Thanks, it did the work. Weird thing is that even disabling that option in developer mode, it still works . Keeping the "Give every app SD access" enabled, sounded a little risky.
Another thing, is that with the option disabled, i can't chose the SD root itself, but i have to chose a folder. While it's ok for my case, it could be an issue for someone else.
PS: Developer mode was on "kernel version" (if anyone else need it, i know you can google it up but i ended up with trial and error).
