I've noticed a slight decrease in battery life since the pie OTA. I'm curious what others are seeing.
Better? Worse?
Hello, for me battery life was better with the first Pie update (more than 5h-5h30 SOT) since the last (90.10.138.175) battery decrease so fast .. Depend your usage too ..
Seems like it's slightly better to me

I am also facing the battery drain issue on Asus Zenfone 5Z after Android Pie Update. Battery Draining too fast..

What would be the best ROM for battery life? I'm using CyanogenMod atm and the battery life is decent. If I flash Android Rev. would I sacrifice battery life and if so by how much?

Battery usage is completely subjective so what will be awesome for one may be absolute crap to another. Only way you'll know is to try it yourself

As mentioned, battery life is completely up to your usage. Some steps to try though which can be used across any rom is to give Rom Cleaner a shot and to use Greenify. This will rid any rom of bloat that could be sucking up battery and better allow the device to enter deep sleep where the real battery savings are had.
A well optimized kernel would give you some savings as well. I can personally say that on ARHD 5.5 with Elemental kernel .15 I'm seeing about 70% battery left at the end of a normal day. For me though that may only be one 20 minute call and an hour of screen on time. Even when flashing and messing with tons of settings for hours, the phone has never reached a critical battery level for me. I
It's more about the way you optimize (or debloat) your phone , than the ROM you are running. Use battery monitors like GSam or Battery Drain Analyzer and freeze apps that are causing you huge drain. Greenify is also good. Ideally on the M8 you can expect around 6 hours of screen time if you're optimized correctly.

This. I am able to get about 6 hours on stock, ARHD and Insertcoin. With power saver on, that ends up around 7-8 hours of screen time. Coming from a Nexus 5 that got 4 hours typically, I'm pretty satisfied. I'm inclined to believe ARHD will get "slightly" better battery life than CM since it is based off the stock ROM on the M8.
Generally the OEM skinned roms have better battery life and benchmark scores opposed to aosp. Happens all the time on Sammy phones and HTC apparently too. Posts above mine cover most you'll need to know. Its all about optimization and frankly that part is extremely fun and especially rewarding IMO. Gives me an idea for something like a community made thread on different battery tweaks/voltages :good:

Thanks for all the feedback guys
I'm currently using Android Rev. 6.1 odexed (using ART atm) with ElementalX 0.10. I don't know if this is a placebo effect or not, but after flashing ElementalX(with default settings) my battery life seems worse :/
Hello... Does anybody had experience of battery drains caused by
Bluetooth?. If I use my smartband the battery of the phone does not last an entire day. Can you help me?
LG G3 Battery Drain - Android OS
Yes! We have two LG G3 phones and very high battery drain with very slow WiFi has been a problem since early March 2016. Android OS is the indicated culprit. Now testing with Bluetooth off and Wi-Fi speed is back to normal.

It is happening to Me to. On stock 30n and Lineage OS 14.1 battery drain on Bluetooth on is massive. Phone can't last a day and SOT is barely 2h. I'm using it whit Mi Band 1 second version.
Hi,
Do you have problems with the battery life on the stock ROM?
No matter what version I am running like 7.0 or 7.1 the battery life is still bad like 2:30 hours of screen on time while just looking on Facebook and Twitter, nothing hard...
My Moto G 2013 had 5 hours in those conditions even more sometimes and that's strange beacuse 5X has a larger battery and perhaps a more energy efficient SoC.
Do you know any costum ROM wich has great battery life and RAM management?

Seems pretty normal for the N5X. Try the search function or read the Advanced Interactive Governor thread for options to you can try. Don't expect miracles though.
720p screen phones with weaker processing will get longer battery life than a 1080p screen phone with stronger processing. Moto G devices get some of the longest battery life for this reason.
2.5 hours is especially low for a 5x though. 3-4 would be average when draining from 100% to 0% while actively using the screen a lot, and I regularly see 5-6 hours SoT with my usage.
Couldn't say anymore without screenshots. There is a battery thread in General for sharing screenshots and you can see examples of which to post.
Hi
I recently using ressurection remix 5.5.9 lollipop update with xcelerete kernel . I am very satisfied with its hardware performance but the battery backup is not so good.. In standby mode it long lasts about 3-4 days but when heavy using or playing games it decreases abnormally if I play games about 1 hour or 2 it decreases from 100 % to 20% or sometimes 10 %..
How to solve it plzz help me I don't want to go back to stock ROM the battery performance was good on stock ROM..so why not here?? Please help me.....
Thats what you get with custom rom/kernels. The battery life is uneven and is less stable than stock. Some custom kernels overclock the gpu/cpu, so battery life will be even worse. Stock is always the best for stability and battery life is reasonable after some fixing to disable built in adware and stock apps.
In any case the Redmi 1s is bad for any sort of gaming because of the relatively power hungry soc.
So now what to do should I go back to stock miui 9 ?? Because I want good battery backup..!!!
Not here and not on YouTube.
Is Android 13 on the Z Fold 4 stable? Is it better than Android 12?
Crucially, is the battery life worse in any way at all?
Just updated 2 days ago
will test the battery life and report
been a week I'm on Android 13, and It's the same battery usage, except that with my Sony WF-1000xm4 it seems it drain less battery when I'm using my bluetooth earphones than on A12
New Android versions still shows no efficiency increases for me. I don't know how Apple do it. Shame I can't stand ios
