I think i made a mistake - Asus Zenfone 5Z Questions & Answers

Am from India and i bought Zenfone 5z in first sale . That was my first Asus phone . But now i think i made a mistake to buy this , because no one can showing interest to development for this device , am stuck on boot loader warning message when i Start the. Device , i wrote too much thread to rid of this but nobody have knowledge about it , thts why i prefer mi, Xiaomi Mobile,

You are clearly a beginner at this.

It's a good phone if you're able to make the most of it. It has good hardware and even if there isn't much development for it, the stock rom is clean can be customized. It's unlockable, rootable, and accepts any GSM SIM (which for me, means inexpensive service). And now Android Pie. Had a Zenfone 4 and loved it also. Getting the 5Z was a nice upgrade. The screen is great and very bright. Its the same size as my girlfriends Galaxy S8+, minus the notch. The Snapdragon, 8gb of ram and 256gb of storage puts it right up there. Antutu scored 94% against other phones. If you mess up modifying it, that's on you if you're unable to fix it. The same goes for any phone.

Here's my latest benchmark results after pie update. Speaks for itself!

I also made a mistake of buying this phone, I'm into roms and development of the phone I can't stay with this phone without any sort of development, So exchanged it with my brother and got the poco f1 instead. Asus 5z is an amazing phone but it lacks the development support and it isn't for people who are into roms and customisation.

There will be little activity by developers until Asus allows to unlock the bootloader.

I think Asus is generous.. Maybe we can request it to them by sending email requests on their pages/sites?
With such specs, it would be a shame if ASUS didn't release a way to unlock bootloader!
Did ASUS release unlocked bootloader for any of it's devices?

I don't know what u call interest but getting rooted system images, and all thats being talked about like DeesTroy waiting for Asus to get his, and Shakalaka and Sorg developing what we have by now. It's pretty difficult to get custom roms without an unlock bootloader or safe strap or boot strap. I guess it's just me but users are getting pretty impatient these days with things that they know nothing about.

I agree, people need to be a bit more patient and appreciate the time it takes for persons to assist an entire phone community.. In time things will be put in place once the right steps have been allowed...
Be thankful we were able to atleast get root and that's a big thing IMO..

^^^^ this proves they are hoping some help from xda. Hope they unlock bootloader
when this phone was announced... I WANT IT !!
but now I have OnePlus One, and always have phones where we can make what we want, like Nexus, OPO, etc.... because even this asus phone is ultra powerful, he is locked, and can't install aosp roms .....
Because ASUS not comnunicating about bootloader unlock, i preordered an Elephone P7000 ! i love it too, but prefer the asus specs (but hate the power button on the top, WHY , JUST WHY here on a 5.5" phone)
I hope asus will release the bootloader before 20may, the official selling day of the elephone...
Before that, I already buyed a Motorola RazR, because nice and Motorola promised an unlocked bootloader after a month.... at place of this... they sell a new RazR DEV version with unlocked bootloader not usable on the normal version !!! Since this day, I never buy a phone with a locked one, even the compagny promise this ....
BUT the most important question for me : WHY blocking a Bootloader on an Android Open Source phone ??? it's just a potential BIG money loosing by loosing a rom flasher community ... i know insurance bla bla bla ... but i have android phones since my HTC Desire.... at least 9 Adnroid phones, flashing them more than once every month, and never bricked one .... peaople realy can brick a phone like this and cry with insurance ?.0...

I don't think the power button on top is a big issue. I never use it. Tap 2 wake and tap 2 sleep solve that issue and also prevents us from a future power button failure.
I use the power button. It's okay.

If it is like the Asus me302c tablet which had Intel inside then I wouldn't hold your breath. There was some chatter on some German boards but nothing much was going on.

Which model number of LG G4 has the most support ? - Which one should i buy ?

Hello ,
I'm going to buy a new G4 and i wonder about >
Which model number of LG G4 has the most support (Custom ROMs, Official Firmware, Custom recoveries , easy rooting, ....etc) ?
And which model should i buy in your opinion ?
Basically , i can see that the H815 model has the most (I'm not sure about the other models)
//=======================================================================
Also tell me in points about the things you hate in the G4 ...
I heard about these points :-
1- Weak feeling of the vibrator when it is in the pocket on the table ( I actually tested that my self in the store , i set the vibrator at the max strength).
2-Very bad in recording and combining panorama photos (I'm not using it).
3-Video recording colors are sometimes considered under-saturation ! (is there an option to adjust this in camera settings ? i didn't find it while i'm in the store)
4-Bad effect on the microphone sound with the camera video recording (i don't know about calls and voice recording, please tell)
Tell me what you see about these point if you already have this device (mention the model number you have), also share what you think
//=======================================================================
The Third thing I'm asking about is the "locked / unlocked bootloader" Story !
what does that mean? and how can i check if it is locked or unlocked ?
Thank you <3
first of all Congratulations.
The most supported model of the g4 is the H815 .
about the bad things you wrote
that never happens to me and i'm very satisfied with the phone
I less satisfied with the ui of lg i prefer caynogen mod /google ui
and there's another problem with the device he just die you can read about the "boot loop" problem.
I personally bought a T-Mo G4 a couple weeks ago. Luckily it is one if the few models & I think the only US branded one that can have the bootloader unlocked. I'm coming from the M8 and overall I would say I've had a good experience. I've experienced none of the touchscreen lag or other problems other have had. The camera is great. Especially coming from the sad camera on the M7 & M8. I rooted and flashed a custom ROM with no problem and minimal reading. Now when it comes to the dev scene I'm not too happy. Never been a fan of AOSP ROM's and LG's ui isn't bad but pretty bland. I guess I'm just a fan of Sense. But besides that I haven't found much if any support for the H811. Even in the International forums. H815 seems to get all the support so if you can I would say go with that model. Me personally this will probably be my last LG phone. It's a great phone but not a fan of the back buttons and lack of dev support killed it for me but otherwise a great and capable device.
yes h815 ...
For me : i love this phone ! good design an good performance ...
lg firmwares are very good ,it's not Samsung horror for example...
but i don't like at all the sound quality , it's bad ...for a hight device !
we don't have to say anything...only yourself do what you really want to do with your phone
but the principal risk is to have an unlockable bootloader !!! damned for you...
you can ONLY root a Lollipop (and xposed if there are no bootloop ... ) ! no twrp (customs roms ,apps ported ,personalizations by zip...), ,no rooted MM too ....no genesys ....ni greats kernels....
the hell for "geeks" !

1- When does this problem occur ? & how do you handle it .. just a factory reset or what ?
i had took a look about this previously but i didn't get how it happens, they just say SUDDENLY
2- how many times this problem happened to you bro. ?
3-do you really satisfied with the microphone sound ! ,, about 99% of the reviewers talking negatively about this point.
Thank you for the reply <3

How can i find out if the bootloader of it is locked/unlocked one :3 ?
i can see the difficulty level difference in dealing with firmware, custom roms, rooting between Samsung world and LG ... Odin make the job much easier , also there are many websites to provide the official firmware for Samsung, where until now i didn't see any single GOOD website to provide such service, even LG website method was difficult and strange and even some guys didn't get what they want.
a main and an important point for me is that i'm very interested in playing with the phone all the time as what i do with my samsung , messing and playing with it all the time and trying everything, but it is so easy and safe to restore your phone,,,, what do you think about LG , you seems to have some experience
thank you very much

How long do you plan on keeping this phone? I personally only got it as a quick layover because I wanted a change and finally got fed up with HTC's horrible camera. I was gonna go with one of next year's flagships like the S7 or hopefully the M10 if the camera was good. I was hoping this was gonna be awesome experience for me and maybe lure me to the G5 but I'm headed back to my HTC/Samsung roots.

"How long do you plan on keeping this phone?"
if the question was for the LG G4 then i plan to keep it for one year and a half to two if i got no problems with it.
(i currently using the Galaxy Alpha but the camera get stuck too much due to some hardware issue, and unfortunately it cant be dissembled without breaking the screen which has no replacement parts here.. i used it for less than a year... WHERE as the LG G4 can be dissembled easily Without any complexity .. you can do it at home and even by just me and one tool that was one of the reasons why i go to G4 rather than S6 )
mmm, if the question was about the M9, i just tried it for half an hour in the store and i didn't like it AT ALL
Hoping a Good Luck with your next device bro. and thank you
In the past i owned others LG, old optimus .....and my previous is a Samsung S4mini .
and yes...the only positive thing with Samsung is that it's easy to flash what we want ,we just have knox flag (that's all ! ) ,Odin work very well and yes !!! i love Sammobile on internet !!! there are ALL firmwares ,great ! but notging for LG ,no thread here on xda for to share all KDZ files....nothing .
But i prefer so much LG for his qualities and best firmwares, more updared ....
i have heard too a lot of sudently deads phones feedbacks ,but never see articles or others about...
but it's seem that it's not like root for the warranty : if you have unlocked bootloader ,you have lost this warranty !!! (but in theory, just with the root : no ! if you are European... )
UP ....
i have read a lot about the random restarts and the big COMMON bootloop / sudden death of the LG G4 ..... it was so strange and scary and a shame for LG !!
there is no LG services in my country and no warranty on the phone, and it costs 560$ USD or 513 EUR which is considered expensive - but a good price when we are talking about a flagship device :\
The serial number of the hardware i found starting with 507xxxxxxxxx.

Is this phone pretty much dead on launch as far as the dev community goes?

I got this phone mostly because the hardware specs were top notch and my old Zenfone 2 (Z00A) had amazing CM support and even an official bootloader unlock. The ZS570KL still has yet to get so much as a root. Going from CM to the bloated, ugly stock ROM hasn't been fun and I can't wait to get something better. I've prodded ASUS for info on a bootloader unlock and they have basically just said that they can't comment on a release date, or if it's even coming at all.
Is there any active development for this phone or is it just dead?
it's active, but what you see here, is all answered questions that we ask already, so there isn't much we can do , until we get from asus. And then alert every develop out there to start making custom roms for this phone.
I think many people like myself are waiting on the bootloader unlock before buying. If they are going to release it, it better be soon. Else they risk newer phones coming out that trump the specs of this phone that ARE developer friendly. This ship had almost sailed to be honest. What are they waiting for?

Yeah, I'm almost regretting buying it to be honest. I really expected it to be popular in the dev community especially given ASUS' history and that bootloader unlocks are already available for the non deluxe ZF3 and even the ZS550KL. The LG V20, the other phone I was heavily considering waiting for, came out almost a month after this phone already has some ROMs coming out.
This phone has amazing specs and design but is just let down so much by terrible firmware and a completely dead dev community. It's a shame.
Your absolutely correct. Such a shame that a beast of a phone goes quietly in the night. It would've been such an upgrade from my Nexus 6P.
My wild guess is that Asus will release our unlock around April-June when phones are starting to come out with the next snapdragon chipset and 6gig ram is all over the market. At that time, the qualities that make this special will be gone. I don't understand this logic at all.
I really like this phone but all the ways Asus tried to kill its success boggles my mind. The lack of an official bootloader when all their other models have one is just another nail in the coffin of an otherwise really good phone. I thought Asus had learned their lesson... guess not.
The 3 biggest reasons for failure in the dev community:
1. No Bootloader (yet)
2. Price
3. Availability
Its dumbfounding. Such a beautiful phone with amazing specs and Asus care absolutely zero about marketing this phone outside Asia. I had to buy it online because they decided not sell it in Canada. And even online the availability is limited to Taiwan only with every reseller getting it from there in short supply. I don't even think there is a north american model. Why not have faith in your brand? Asus said they didn't think the deluxe would do well in north america with all the competition so they abandoned it. They also thought the phone would not sell because its too expensive but then realized demand for it exceeded the supply and decided to increase production.

Seems like a surefire recipe for failure to me....
I have the SD821 versian, I had to pay through the teeth to get it then when it gets shown to others thet all want to know where to get it and how much it cost. Word of mouth is a great way to do business but the product MUST be available.
I had the subforum tab open to check up on this later, but I'm updating some software right now and noticed this post title... I still have the phone unopened in the box Amazon shipped it in. I guess this is Asus' loss releasing a phone during the only extended return period of the year. I've read a few negatives on the ZF3 Deluxe like low headphone volume and intermittent Bluetooth, but unlocking is what I want.
Since I have until the end of next month to return it to Amazon I figured I would pick up the OnePlus 3T and give it a try - free 15 day return period. I thought, what the heck - I paid more for the ZF3 so why not get the 128GB 3T? Added it to my cart and on the checkout page it gave an estimated date (was within 9 days). I wanted to see what I said the ETA would be on the 64GB model that was listed as shipping within 3 weeks and removed the 128GB model. Went to add the 128GB model back in less than a minute after checking the 64GB model...sold out and it's been like for the last 2 weeks. Talk about frustrating! I ended up ordering the 64GB model and figure I can just send it back to OnePlus when the 128GB's are back in but I'm afraid they still won't be available to order at the end of January. So here is this ZF3 D I don't think I really want. :/
jsheradin, you said the bootloader is unlocked for the other ZF3 models - any idea why not this version of the Deluxe?
If it made any sense, there would be no doubt Asus wanted the ZF3 to fail.

Yep, the unlock is available for everything but the 820 and 821 variants. I assume it's simply that these processors require a little more work to make an unlock utility for, but I'm just guessing at that point.

It does not. The ZS550KL has a single version and it is a snapdragon 625. It has the same processor as the non deluxe ZF3 (Z3520KL) which came out before the deluxes. They probably already made the unlock for the non deluxe and it required very little work to make it work for the 5.5 deluxe. The 820/821 versions did not have that luck and they likely have to make the unlock from scratch.
Hey, I agree with all on this thread. I have the Zen 2 deluxe SE with Cyangenmod and its a great phone. Purchased the Zen 3 but have yet to use it because I cannot root. I also read that Cyangenmod is no longer offering custom ROM or am I not understanding their changes? Does this mean the chances of a custom rom for Zen 3 is out? I also upgraded my wife's phone (S5) to the same Zen 3 deluxe (ZS570KL / 256gb hd / 6gb ram / 821 chip) and she hates it... calls keep dropping signal is low and it does not even say LTE. I did a speedtest comparison betwen her Zen 3 and my Zen 2 and it was faster. Hers is also disconnecting from cellular (AT&T) data and does not show 4G anymore along with no push notifications of emails.
Anyone else having these issues?
Joining in on the bandwagon to vent (really)... This was my # 1 phone to get in 2016, despite the lack of Quad HD screen (especially for the price), but Asus botched it BIG TIME! The price on the SD821 model, even more frustrating, the lack of availability, even during the holiday season, and of course, now announcing their new 2017 models, with no unlocked BLs or Root... what an opportunity missed! Would have been such a strong jab against the 3T, but they ruined it!
I bugged Asus again via email and received this response, again:
"Temporary we haven't got the accurate time the unlock tool would be released for this ZS570KL.
But we will transfer customers' wishes to the related department for further development.
Also please note that ASUS does not actually asssit with unlocking of the Android Bootloader. I must advise that you do so at your own risk, as once the boot loader is unloked it will void your warranty."
I'm just hoping there is an unofficial unlock at this point. The stock ROM seems to somehow get more buggy and slow day by day. Is anyone else having issues with the screen taking forever to turn on after using fingerprint/pressing the side button?

I used this form to submit it: https://vip.asus.com/VIP2/Services/QuestionForm/TechQuery?lang=en-us
I just said, "When can the bootloader unlock utility be expected to be released?"
They responded promptly yet disappointingly. Hopefully if enough of people ask they will finally get around to making/releasing it.
Does anybody know if there is unofficial unlock work being done?
If an unlock is ever made we just need to get someone who knows TWRP to build a recovery and ideally somebody from Lineage OS to start ROM support. I've built TWRP before for a different device and may be able to do the same for this phone but I wouldn't know where to begin to get a ROM working. I feel like no devs even know this device exists. :crying:

The biggest question we should all ask ourselves... "Why did ASUS build this phone in the first place if they didn't have a bootloader unlocker for it?"

what are the odds of getting root on this phone

I know it's only out for reviewers and what not but I'm looking forward to the device, not only that but I'm looking to upgrade my rooted V20 and wanted to know the chances of the G7 being rooted
Only European and US unlocked will get official bootloader unlock (as far as we have seen in many variants before) and root other variant may or may not find a way to root

Honestly it's a shame I was seriously looking at this phone, but what's more unfortunate is I'm starting to feel rooting is going the way of the dodo, more or less for big brands Samsung and LG for instance. HTC has always been pretty Dev friendly, it's just a shame I stuck with Android all this time because I had the freedom to root and do whatever I wanted and now it's just become a hollow shell of itself
I'd say odds are piratically zero unless you get an unlocked variant, even then it can take months for LG to release the code for unlock. I am looking elsewhere manufacture wise. I have a G3 and it is on its last legs.

Yup. And that is exactly the reason the v30 will be my last LG phone. At least the new HTC comes out soon and HTC has previously been dev friendly

For all of you that say HTC is so great, Let me tell you.. I was once a huge LG fan back in the G3 days and V10(Which went knowwhere) and then I said I would never touch another LG again, So I went HTC10,
was great at first, a bit pricey for the money, But to make a long story short. all HTC's battery suck.. your device will die within 1 year. but you will notice the issue way before, like 6 months to less..
when it happen to me, I thought maybe it was just me, then after me, other friends of mine, started having issues, and then friends of theirs had issues, and coming from a Developer on HTC10,
I can tell you, the scene sucks. the users can be rude, even know that is everywhere.. but cant explain unless your a dev, and even know you can s/off which will cost you 25.00, no biggie, lets you rebrand your device too... and unlock your bootloaders, but as for scene, Its not really there.. a few roms and a few things, but nothing big.. I created PureFusionOS originally on a HTC10, and I created Nebula Kernel Originally on a LG G3,
then Ported the first EAS Kernel to HTC10 on MM then N and not on Oreo......... So, dev friendly as it is, it has its draw backs.. I personally wont get another HTC do to the crappy batteries..
If none believe me, click on the Telegram group on my sig and ask in there.. you will see for your self.......
as for the oods of getting root, anything is possible.. look at the v30.. look at the g6 and v20 and so on, Most didnt think that would happen... its a challenge.. I wouldnt say you would get it soon,
but sooner or later.. if you truly want software and dont care about hardware, get OP6........................... But if you want a device that can outperform most others, Samsung,LG and Google.............
yeah sony too.. just not a fan of Sony.............

Sony phones are locked down tighter than a nuns vagina so I won't go that way again.
I had an htc M9 and the battery was TERRIBLE. 3 hours I was at 60pct of little use, and this was brand new. So the battery issue has to be better than it was then. But most of us buy our phones and never plan to keep then longer than a year Max and most of us also use the payments so the OP6 and others like it are not affordable, especially for my broke ass.
LG makes great phones, they really do, but I want absolute control over something I legally own (for the time being ) and I think everyone else feels the same way. I haven't given up on LG just yet but for time being, I'm using the Motorola z2 force soley cause it can be rooted easily...well I thought easily anyway. Google's seemless update confuses me with two.
That being said, my hopes are still up, hanging by a string for the next LG model, but this time I won't buy it until root is achieved/released..if ever.
Sigh.
I swore to never own another LG phone after the G4 fiasco, but here I am a few years later - literally about to pull the trigger.
I don't care about the notch or the AI features - I just wanted a good phone with: a headphone jack, bigger screen, and most of all - a wide angle lens. I had my heart set out on an ASUS Zenfone 5 for a while but the wide angle camera has apparently been somewhat disappointing.
I currently own a Pixel 2 XL and a Galaxy S8+ Exynos version, both have been a blast to have because of the ease of being able to flash a new ROM and what not. I know for a fact that having this new G7 means losing the ability to customise the phone, but I'm left with little options as my desires for a wide angle lens has become far too great. I could get a secondary lens for my DSLR but snapping pictures very quickly with a phone has become the norm. Oh well, I'm probably going to get the G7, I'm prepared for a locked bootloader
Question what about for the Verizon editions are those going to be unlocked by Verizon and allowed to root?

Verizon will never unlock the bootloaders on any phone they sell. Basically, if you want root, the general rule is to not buy Verizon phones 99pct of the time they are not unlockable
I though while ago few years there was a law passed that allowed modifications to phones legal?

I think that law may have been to physically mod phones? I can't quite remember.
But yeah, Verizon = no bootloader unlock, ever. I am hoping T-Mobile's buy one get one free promo will get the phone in more user's hands. More users should lead to more desires for development. The last LG phone I had was the G4 and there was an odd way of getting root on the phone.. I really hope there will be devs to work on the G7. As always, I'm ready to donate money to get root and the ability to flash ROM's.. honestly, I just want AOSP icons on the statusbar  I hate ugly statusbar icons!

Considering how incredibly slow LG was to add the V30 unlock codes to the official site, and still no OFFICIAL support for the open market V30/V30+ US998 model, I have serious doubts the G7 will be added to the list, at all. If you have a European variant, I envy you. They DO have laws that require companies to allow for modification. The US has pathetic loopholes in right to repair which even Apple and Microsoft scoff at, let along a smaller company like LG. They simply don't care about the dev or modder community. They would much rather have you get a new phone every year because the former was crippled by poor software and lack of support.
I'm rocking a LG G3 vs985 and it is really in bad shape now that thermal issues have led to SD card failure. I might have to reflow the solder to get it working long enough to see if the G7 will get root, or if there are alternatives.

I am currently researching various sites such as XDA now being in the market for a new smartphone out of necessity. That necessity...... Echoing the quoted portion of your previous post...... Is " thanks " to the battery of my HTC 10. I write this with my HTC 10 tethered to a charger because not connected to power once the status bar battery icon shows 70 % it is a very short wait until it bootloops with the only course of action then being a vol. Down + power button combo press to get into download mode...... Select power off...... And connect the HTC 10 back to a power source ( at which point it displays that the 70 % screen on battery power remaining is actually around 8 %.
The HTC 10 battery does indeed suck. Researching now for a new smartphone is leading me to think there are only 2 options that tick the boxes of my wants...... Among those wants being latest hardware with a Good + camera, SD card slot for storage expansion, and ability to be rooted. It appears the 2 smartphones to come the closest to meeting those wants are the LG G7 and Samsung S9 ( and unfortunately it appears presently the want of root may not happen with either of those 2 smartphone options [ Snapdragon versions. ] )
I suppose I could deal with my always-needing-to-be-tethered HTC 10 a little while longer to enter the U12 in the purchase running ( that I presume will be rootable ) but I will be concerned of having another battery nightmare with a HTC smartphone......

I haven't rooted my phones for a few years now. I dont see the necessity for it anymore ( I respect the opinion of others who have their reasons for rooting.. i just have no justifiable reason for myself)
I still use xda a lot for reviews , q&a , discussions etc just not for development.
To me, phones have come a loooooong way from the days of the LG G2x etc where rooting was a MUST if you wanted a phone that could even last the entire day

I'm actually in the exact same boat as you - although my battery isn't quite as bad on the HTC 10 yet, it's definitely dying 2 or more times a day on me. It's a great phone and I wouldn't be itching for an upgrade if the battery was still good. I like the U12+ but after this(and previously my One M8) having both battery or charging port related issues, wireless charging on my next device is a must. Unfortunately like you said both the Snapdragon S9+ and the G7 are the only current real options and neither of them seem to be getting any traction in the root department. The s9+ is especially interesting to me because I would think the USA would have a HUGE market for people buying and modifying that phone but it seems as though that just isn't so.
Back to the G7 - this is the first time I've ever even considered an LG and this device looks freaking great, but I want to not only de-bloat and adblock, but also have the ability to run free WiFi tether on Sprint as well as the fun of changing out ROMs(although the older and busier I get the more tedious this becomes).
Eagerly watching from the sidelines on what happens with this phone though!

Not a good thing reading that you had battery related issues on a previous HTC smartphone as well as the 10...... As far as my thought of a U12 being in the running for my next soon-to-be purchase each new day I become increasingly frustrated with needing to be constantly tethered to a power source with my HTC 10. I also have a Google Nexus 10 tablet ( that I believe has HTC battery hardware ) which in the past few months has been major off-and-on issues that after online researching of others experiencing the same thing attribute likely to HTC battery hardware in the Google Nexus 10. Early reviews of the HTC U12 do seem promising...... But after the cost of a flagship phone I do not want to find myself having the same battery nightmare a little over a year from now as I am with this HTC 10.
It is a real shame as so long as I am tethered to a power source my HTC 10 still runs like a champ in every other aspect. Another shame is something you mentioned in root / mod activity on XDA seems to have really declined for most smartphone brands...... And that does not give me hope of there arriving root for either the Samsung S9 or LG G7. If I am destined for the LG G7 I am considering holding out for one of the 2 merchants listed on the LG website to get in stock a carrier unlocked version of it...... In hopes that could make it a little easier / likely for eventual bootloader unlock and root. If not I will just have to get use to it being my first Android smartphone that I did not have root on.
With that scenario in mind I have been researching on alternate methods to try and do as close to some of the basic things I have always utilized with root. One thing you mention is debloat. Searching with a phrasing similar to " remove bloat no root " did return a result from XDA that I likely will try And there do exist adblock, firewall, etc. apps that do not require root...... But my guess is they will not function as well as those with root. I have had a few Samsung, a couple Motorola, and this one HTC ( 10 ) branded smartphones...... A purchase of a G7 would be my first LG as well......

The prior HTC phone (One m8) didn't really have battery issues, but the charging port (microusb) failed on me. I believe this is going to be much less of an issue going forward with USB C connections so I wouldn't really say that's a major concern. I've had HTC phones all the way back to the EVO 4G, and generally did not have issues with battery or power related things. At this point we're going off topic though. Hopefully someone with the talent and ability finds a passion in figuring out root for the G7.

Allllthoooough...... If you and I continue conversing regardless of topic maybe we can bump the thread count up high enough to attract a talented and abled person to take a look here and ultimately detail a root strategy for the LG G7 ( can always hope. )
So on that thought...... How Is the weather where you are ?

How could we make Oneplus give us an extra update to Android 12?

I feel that just the update to 11 is lacking, when that should have been the version it should have launched with. Hell, the N200 has worse specs and they ARE getting the 12, so why not us?
My question is, what can we do? Could we try and make a letter or mass message them? Im open to all ideas really.
Push comes to shove, do you people think there will be unofficial "updates" in the horizon for the phone?
Companies are for profit, they will not care about letters or requests. They will do whatever is in their power to create more phones to sell to more customers.
The n10 5g and the n100 were simply meant to secure a spot in the US.
Maybe start petitions at
www. change. org
(delete the spaces)
I figure that with someone will port from one of the higher models.
And tbh i need more storage, ram & larger screen, faster charging + less overheating.
Would not want 12 on this thing. The 11 update bricked mine lol I'll trust a custom rom of 12 before I trust OnePlus to make a good OS again

Have you unbricked your device?
Goes into crashdump mode or what? Just asking.
As of about bricking, not longer before I saw a thread saying bunch of OP6Ts or what goes into crashdump mode and most of them only finding the motherboard is fried. Most of them are on 10.3.5.
Is your phone similar?

Just sat at the boot animation screen after it shut itself off and was super laggy. I own a bunch of 6t's, essential phones and razer phone 2's... the essential phone feels better than the nord n10 software wise lol
I did not do anything differently that I would normally be doing on my phone either. Just happened out of nowhere
