Yeah, I saw it a couple of times on the 3 so it's not limited to the XL, I'm assuming you're referring to the screen flash. A few others have reported it too.

Is it a one time glitch or a software/hardware issue? Reported this incident to Google support.

I saw it for the first time yesterday. It happened twice. But I haven't seen it today or before yesterday so I don't know what's causing it.

Possibly. I don't have ambient display always on but I do for new notifications.

No offense but if you can't replicate it then there is no use discussing it.

App bug, not 4.0.4 bug.

Why? What if someone else has seen it and/or been able to replicate it?

Because if you can't replicate something, it's not a bug. It could be something with a certain users own environment/setup.
I've never had that occur, so unless one were to go line by line, app by app to see what's causing it, how can you call it a bug? It could be another app that's causing the issue.

Unless you understand the nature of the bug, perhaps you are not reproducing the correct conditions for it to occur.
That blanket statement is fairly inaccurate.
Happened to me before, it's due to the rotation sensor getting confused. It thinks it's in horizontal mode; just turn it to the side and back vertical again and it clears it right up. Nothing major.

Agreed, however the same can be said if you call something a bug without evidence to support it.
The word "bug" is used far too often in my opinion.
It's just like when you file a bug report for cyanogen nighties, they require you to be able to replicate it, for it to be considered an issue.

Open maps once and let it find your location. That should keep it from showing up in your recent apps all of the time.

Unfortunately i cant tell if it started with the last OTA or not, but my auto-rotate quit working. I have tried factory resets from both the settings/storage menu and using the power/volume down after phone was powered down. I contacted Verizon and they have had reports of it happening. She continued to say LG is aware of it and says it is a software issue that there will be a fix soon. Is anyone else aware of this problem?
nope. never used a ota cause they try to fix whats not broken most of the time, sorry to hear that has happened to ur phone

My Pixel XL is rooted with Elemental kernel, but even when I was stock, my phone would slow down after a day or 2 of use. I would especially notice this slow down in the XDA mobile app. The app becomes very choppy. I can restart the phone and it's very fast again. Is anyone else noticing this?
Edit...The main problem I had with slowness was with the XDA app as that is the app I use the majority of the time. It was recommended to me to use the XDA Labs app and now I'm happy. There is no slow down at all with XDA Labs.
Sent from my Pixel XL using XDA-Developers mobile app
Nope. Mine has remained as fast as when I first started it. I'm completely stock and always have been.
Im stock And It Feels Just Luke It Did When It Came Out Of The Box. Have You Installed Anything That Could Be Slowing Things Down?
Completely stock, as fast as the first day I had it.

I don't know. I don't use any social media, unless XDA is considered social media. The only thing I notice slowing down is the XDA app. I can press the hamburger menu to refresh the thread and it might take 3-4 seconds to show the menu. Scrolling also becomes choppy. If I reboot the phone the app is smooth again, for a while. Maybe its the app and not the phone.

I downloaded the XDA Labs apk, this is way better than the legacy app I was using. Thanks
Phone completely stock, not app heavy, no social media (web interface only), just as fast as the day I bought it. No stutters or anything.

Actually I have noticed this using Chrome. I think it was the page...
Try going back to stock kernel or changing the settings of elemental x kernel.

I think the slow down was just the legacy XDA app. I'm using the XDA labs now and I see no choppiness.
So this has been happening for the past month or so, on the last couple builds of NSeven (but I wasn't sending or receiving much before that, so I may have just been lucky in not noticing?). If I get or try to send an MMS picture message, I will have to restart my phone for it to actually go through. I tried switching to Textra which helped me with other mms related issues in the past bu tit doesn't seem to be making a difference.
Any suggestions?
Same issue, but I am completely stock.

I do use Substratum as well. I'll have to disable it and see if that makes any difference.
