Nevermind. I found out whats the reason. I was on Sultan Kernel which causes the front camera bug issue. No issue on stock.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thx for helping
Is that in the stock camera app?
Try manually reducing the exposure to see if that helps. That's highlight clipping, but to see that in a photo out of a stock camera app is bizarre .

Strange indeed. Perhaps try a digital photography forum. Maybe someone can identify this issue . I'd hate for it to be a hardware problem. Good luck

CM 10.1 Camera quality

I think the camera quality isn't a hardware problem but a software one. E.g. in darkness the camera doesn´t turn on the light when focussing.
In system/lib/hw is a file (camera.msm.8960.so) which should be changed but i'm not able to do this. There must be played with the values. Some clever guys did this in for other phones before.
My phone before was the LG 2x and in that forum they raised quality above 200% of the original one.
I attache the file to work with. Maybe here are some insiders too.
...the only problem is that the camera does not focus when the flash comes in darkness. Or it focuses too early or too late. When you turn on the flashlight on the phone permanently and take a photo, everything is fine. The problem is in CM 10.1 and 10.2.
Isn´t here somebody who knows a trick?

In focal camera you have the option to turn on flash as a torch. I turn it on then take a picture. That fixed for me but I have to agree. The camera quality is bad. Something must be done.
Just use a 3rd party camera app.

I tried some 3rd party apps but that didn't solve the problem that the camera doesn't focus when using the flash. This seems not to be an app problem, it's in the files from the rom like I attached above.
Or do you have a suggestion for an app that solves the problem with focus in darkness?

Hmmm...as for me I don't have that issue. I am using Epsilon V3 ROM by core720, which is based on stock. For camera app, I use snap camera hdr and the new focal camera.

Ok, I tried that rom which is very great, very smooth. Nice. But the camera is still not focussing right with the stock cam or snap camera hdr in darkness at my side. It surely is not an app problem...

Back facing camera off center

My back facing camera is not center although picture work fine.
Is this an issue?
Does anyone else notice that their signs perfectly centered?
Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
I have not noticed this.
Is the camera active when you're checking this? Is the camera app running? If so, the camera's Optical Image Stabilization can move the lens around, and make it look strange.
Check it with no camera app running, if you haven't already.

its normal and pretty common - its not a fault, more of a cosmetic thing (check out any other smartphones for this flaw - I've had the same on my Sony Z1)
once manufacturing processes get upgraded "faults" like these get sorted out in later batches of phones

U need root for the perfect version. U need to install Armova Magisk Fix v2.2 and savitars Colorfix (optional) for better GCam experience.. After installing these try Arnova latest Google Camera port.

Thing is I've got Camera M and the Gcam fixes installed and I get the feeling they might conflict. Anyone want to try it out?

The update is out for the OP6 (which includes the front cam portrait mode) and i am sure that someone will make it work for our OP5T. Just wait.

Pixel 3 Camera port for P1 & P2 by cstark27

Version 7 of Pixel 3 Camera port for P1 and P2 is here.
I make this thread because many people don't know about the existence of it because there isn't a dedicated thread for it on Pixel 1 Forum.
Here's the link to the original thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78183854&postcount=696
All credits go to @cstark27 for this awesome work as always!

Not very stable.
On Pie, sometime it's ok the motion capture, sometime not. The camera app is ok. It's the app google photo who force close often when you watch a motion photo.
