Any chance we will see this device Stateside?
Depends on whether there's a demand for the device in the US. It'll likely be a specialised variant given the networks there.

eBay is your friend
The fact that they aren't being sold officially doesn't mean much.. I'm pretty sure that they will be on eBay pretty soon.
I am a bit confused at which G3 is best for use in the UK.
I'm on EE and have seen that all the Korean models support the necessary networks, but I have been told that they don't work fantastically.
What are the facts?
Thanks in advance.

Handtec sell the european 3/32 version of the G3 for 509.99 maybe that's a safer bet?

Maybe, and thanks for the information as that seems like a good price, but I would really like a definitive answer before spending £500!

I have read some who have the Korean version have issues with it not seeing 4G or losing 4G after a reboot and the European 3/32 version supports all LTE bands within the UK so there won't be any issues with it working in the UK on EE or any other network.
Also you cannot cross flash ie a D855 firmware onto K400 or vice versa.
Thanks for the information both of you.
I think I'll go with the EU version to make sure.
Just for clarity, the D855 is the EU version, and the F400/K400 are the Korean versions?

Haha, sorry about that!
I've found a D855 for under £450, new. I just have to work out if the seller can be trusted.

You can buy it from Amazon.de for almost the same price, plus you have the amazon return policy which is pretty good.

Yes, they do. They only stopped doing pre-sales.
So Huawei announced the Huawei Mate 20 X, but in what countries is it going to be released? They are not very clear about that. Seeing the video's it appears to be a global release because all Google apps are already installed.
If you found a webshop please let us know here
Pre-order on Amazon UK, £899.99.
Edit: Sorry, I'm a 'tard, £899.99 for the plain Mate 20 Pro.

pdaplaza.ca (a Canadian company) has the 6/128 Global variant and 8/256 China variant for sale with shipping the first week of November. Can someone confirm there will be a Global version of the 8/256 model? With the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 the 8/256 was China only, while they also offer a Global version of their 6/128 model. Does Huawei follow a similar sales strategy of reserving their high end model for the Chinese mainland market?
Tweeted Huawei UK and they have said no release in UK (as of yet!!). Prices is listed in Euros so there is a Euro / Global version being released but have no idea in what regions. I also asked this but no reply yet.
Once again the UK is getting screwed ! Off to the black market to pay inflated prices and import tax (again ...) !!
Hi guys,
Any update on availability in the UK or Europe?
I am also looking for the Mate 20 X this phone it is amazing .
my daily phone is at the moment Samsung s5 it so terrible to use this phone and UI.
Huawei is so lazy, they announce the phone in London with euro price but doesn't list the release countries. Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro pre-orders are everywhere. I also asked many Huawei countries on Twitter, but no single response.

can the china variant be used on our canadian bands for 4g lte?
can the bootloader be unlocked on the china variant?
is it true that the 8gb version will ship with a free flip case and m-pen?
So I had a response from Huawei, which said:
"Thank you for contacting Huawei Support UK.
At the moment the Mate 20X is not available in Europe, we do not have official information regarding an ETA for the release, furthermore we cannot confirm with certainty that this model will even be released for the European market.
Please return to us, in the near future for additional information on the Mate 20 X model.
Meanwhile, of course, should you have any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us."
Best regards,

No, however rumor has it a future update may facilitate this function but don't hold your breath! There are International variants which offer Dual SIM's. Samsung should make this option more widely available.

I'd pass on the Exynos SOC. The Dual SIM Snapdragon S20 Plus is available on eBay for $882.00.

Yes

I have the Hong Kong variant, it works in the US. There's a number of NFC Payment platforms, the main thing is your bank needs to be aligned with whatever platform you chose. Almost all banks facilitate Samsung MTS.

My experience with Samsung Pay and the HK variant is based on the Note 10 - out of the box, Samsung Pay will only work with AmEx in Canada with a dual SIM Snapdragon variant. Google Pay does work without any issues.
One other thing to consider - the HK/China/Taiwan Snapdragon variant does not have the same 5G bands as the Canadian one.
Quick Question. If you change the CSC to enable the e-sim in Canada. Which one do I use to still retain the Samsung pay and VOLTE?
thanks

I'm not aware of any Snapdragon Variants which offer eSim with one exception, the Galaxy Fold but I haven't heard feedback from Snapdragon users with Canadian Branded Devices.

Yes, just saw that... so I am sort of screwed right now with no options but to buy grey. No go as not even VOLTe will work.../samsung pay
Telus might be allowing VoLTE and VoWiFi on unlocked phones... I am so disappointed with VoLTE / WiFi needing to be baked into firmware on Android, what's going to happen when HSPA is retired? Also why was it so hard to begin with, the tower should be the keeper / sender of the related settings.
To enable esim, you must find the firmware from the region & telco that support esim , and you must change the firmware *and* the csc too. changing only one of them will not do.

Google locked the phone to work only on supported countries.
There is a petition to the European parliament to force Google to unlock 5G in other countries. Because they are breaking the European standard.
Thank you all..
Locked 5G i think is the best answer as soon as you can have 5G When you unlock the phone..
