Hi I just got my Mi Max 3 (I ordered the blue 128gb CN version But I got the black 128gb CN version but thats another story) Ofcoruse the supplier had unlocked the bootloader and flashed Gobal version of miui 10.1 and that version I suppose should have enabled the anti rollback on the phone
The first thing I did was to flash twrp with treble support with fastboot flash recovery twrp.img then downloaded xiaomi.eu miui 10.2 rom and removed the ARB files from the zip file (only kept 3 firmware files) and flashed it successfully. I have read that if you have anti rollback enabled you need to flash the twrp.img from the booted twrp recovery but I never needed to do that so my question is therea way to check anti rollback status on phone? I know that the fastboot command fastboot getvar anti does not work on mi max 3.
I know that I can check the roms you dowload but I want to check my phones status? Any adb commands I can use?
I want to know if the supplier flashed the global rom miui 10.1 rom without the ARB files

First of all, you should first check what anti you are on. You do that by launching CMD from ADB tools and typing command "fastboot getvar anti". If it shows 3 then ARP protection is not turned on. But if it shows 4, then it is turned on, and that means that you can't flash any rom containing firmware of anti 3 because your device will be bricked. If your anti is 3 then you can flash any rom you want whether it is anti 3 or 4, but you should really be careful with the ROMs you flash(especially miui based) so you don't enable ARP. Your ROMs should not include firmware files. Masik for example doesn't, so it's safe. For the other ROMs you should search and ask to find out whether they are safe or not.
ok sir ... it means that i can install miui custom rom without the firmware inside, with the note that the above version might be like that?
Hi all,
I'm trying to flash the global ROM on my Whyred. However, it's currently already on the latest MIUI 10.0.0.1 (OEICNFH). I've confirmed it has anti rollback (4) enabled already.
What's my best move right now? Do I unlock the bootloader and then... ?
Or do I wait for the latest global 10.0.0.1 and flash that via fastboot? Not too sure what to do now.
Or can I simply flash the latest MIUI 10 8.8.30 beta via MIUI recovery - http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.8.30/miui_HMNote5HMNote5ProGlobal_8.8.30_4996e76420_8.1.zip
You. Cannot flash global ROM using updater app but you can flash miui10 global beta using fastboot method
Before flashing miui10 global beta just confirm antirollback version in miui10.0.0.1
If it is anti: 4 then you can flash all ROMs (including stable) which has anti version 4
Thanks for your reply! I'm on anti 4 atm.
I need to unlock bootloader before I can flash using fastboot right?
And looks like you can use fastboot flash commands in CMD, or use MiFlash (which also uses the fastboot ROM). I presume both requires an unlocked bootloader either way?
Yes you have to unlock bootloader to flash fastboot ROM
Thanks, I know how to do that
Just to confirm, even though the MIUI 10 Global beta is v8.8.30, which is a lower version than the MIUI 10 Chinese Stable 10.0.0.1, it's still OK to flash? They both came out on August 30th, so I'm assuming it's OK to flash from one to another and vice versa, without getting the phone bricked?
https://www.theandroidsoul.com/xiaomi-redmi-note-5-pro-update/
enter this commands
fastboot getvar anti
to know the antirollabck version, if it is anti 4 in MIUI10.0.0.1 then you can flash MIUI 8.8.30
Yup it's anti 4.
I thought the anti rollback prevents you from "downgrading" to a lower firmware? I'm a bit confused why stable 10.0.0.1 can be upgraded to 8.8.30 beta, even though the version seems to be lower. I guess it's just a naming convention difference for the stable and beta firmwares?
Then you can switch between any anti 4 ROMs
Yes beta ROM naming convention follows present date month year format
8.8.30 indicates
2018/08/30
Next beta update name will be 8.9.6
And yes antirollback prevents you from downgrading to older version of bootloader
9.5.17 ROM and previous ROM has anti3 so you cannot rollback to those version
For China stable it is 9.5.21 and you cannot rollback to 8.5.6 beta ROM these ROM
So be careful while flashing older version this may brick your device and no problem while downgrading anti4 enabled ROM
Perfect, that makes a lot of sense now.
Thank you very much!
I have the 3GB Global version and have a MIUI version of MIUI Global 9.5 | stable 9.5.6.0 (OEIMIFA).
I have already unlocked the bootloader and from what I can tell fastboot getvar anti says im on anti 3
I was wondering what all I have to do to get lineageos on my device? Ive seen mentioned in guides to update the firmware and in others including the lineageos wiki its not mentioned. Ive also seen mentions of lazyflasher to keep twrp but its not in that wiki either.
Do I need to update my firmware? Do I need to use lazyflasher or is "fastboot flash recovery twrp-x.x.x-x-whyred.img" enough?

To install lineageos 15.1, you need to have at least firmware version 8.7.5 and an encrypted device.
Assuming you still have miui 9.5.6.0 installed in your device and not updated to newer version of miui, you have to install firmware version 8.7.5.
As you still have anti 3 on your device it is highly recommended not to update your firmware any higher then 8.7.5, as it is the last firmware with anti 3.
If you already updated your device to a newer miui firmware with anti 4, DO NOT INSTALL ANY FIRMWARE. YOUR PHONE WILL BE HARD-BRICKED.
Instruction to install lineageos -
go to fastboot of your device
connect to pc and run fastboot commend "fastboot getvar anti"
if it shows anti version 3 - flash firmware version 8.7.5
if it shows anti version 4 - DO NOT FLASH ANY FIRMWARE. YOUR PHONE WILL BE HARD-BRICKED.
(assuming you already unlocked your device and installed proper recovery)
Go to recovery
select wipe > advance > select everything (data, system, cache, dalvik, internal, vendor) and swipe right.
do not touch the format data option at all or it will decrypt your device and you have to install full miui again via fastboot to encrypt the device again.
Now go to reboot menu and reboot to recovery.
after it boots back to recovery transfer the ROM and other files (ROM, gapps, magisk etc.).
Flash the rom, gapps etc.
here and here - more information about anti rollback.
Hello, I have installed some days ago HavocOS, but I'm experiencing some crashes on apps I do use regularly, so I want to go back to MIUI, but I'm scared to brick my device because the antirollback, I do know my last MIUI version installed was something like 10.0.6.0, but I dont know if it's exactly the same that is in Xiaomi official download page. What should I do to not brick my device? Can I install the developer ROM with no issues? Or how could I know what ROM exactly I had before? I have no backup of MIUI whatsoever and my anti-rollback code is 4.. Thanks in advance.
Boot phone to fastboot and check your ARB version with this command:
fastboot getvar anti
I think you will have ARB 4 version.
You can only brick your phone when you will downgrade ARB 4 -> ARB 3.
Then download latest MIUI stable (1.0.0.6) from xiaomi website (fastboot version) and flash it with miflash.
Visit en.miui.com/a-234.html
Download fastboot rom and flash it using miflash
What about twrp backup of miui 10?? Will restoreing it brick my phone??
install latest pitchblack recoveryfrom here then install any miui recovery rom you want
I have redmi note 5 pro and I have installed the latest orange fox recovery in it. Please tell me how can i downgrade my miui 11.0.3.0 to miui 10.2.1.0 oreo without bricking my device.
Thanks in advance
I'm not sure (wait for a proper answer) but I think ROMs from MIUI 9.5.19.0 and above are ARB4. I recommend that you flash a fastboot ROM that include the proper firmware for Oreo.
Fastboot ROMs: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/miui/whyred/
yes I recomend fastboot way too, not recovery's
I will like to ask people why recovery downgrading is risky as with custom recovery u can have n number of possibilities

Thanks buddy for ur help, I successfully downgraded to 10.2.1.0.
One more question, what is the minimum ROM version that i can downgrade to (I have ARB 4)?
Now your ARB version is 4.
You can download the offical ROM image package and exract it.
Then open the file called "flash_all.bat". Look for "set CURRENT_ANTI_VER" in this file and look at the ARB version of the package.
If the anti level is 4 , it's safe to downgrade to this version.
If it's below 4, DO NOT flash the ROM or your phone will be bricked.
