Something weird has been happening lately and its not just from the latest update. When I delete an email from my lock screen(pull down > delete), they end up popping back up a few minutes later. Im not swiping or archiving, Im doing the same delete maneuver Im used to doing.
Anyone else experiencing living dead emails?

Yeah, its weird. Ill delete an email(swipe down>delete) and its gone from my screen. Then maybe 15 minutes later it pops back up again and I do the same thing. When I unlock my screen and open my Gmail, its still there, not deleted.

Yes very odd.
I just tested for you. Sent few emails to myself. Deletes them perfectly from everywhere.

Thanks for trying. Its not every time, just randomly. But still annoying.
Grrrrrrr. Just happened again. Deleted like 10 emails from the lockscreen (7 gmail/3 yahoo). 2 minutes later they all popped back up on the phone and my watch.

So I went to bed last night, had my phone plugged in to my laptop charging and I got a text around midnight. it woke me up, I read it, put my phone back down and went to sleep. I just woke up and looked at my phone and the ONLY text message I have at all is now that text. All text before (thousands) are gone, deleted... I checked my crunchSMS and "messages" and there's just the one message in both. I'm using MYN's newest and everything else seems to be accounted for. Please let me know if there is any way to restore my texts (other than my backup, I got some important texts yesterday) Please let me know if you guys can think of anything.

You had just woken up and probably deleted them by accident. I'm sorry but I can't think of any way to recover them.
PS. My name is HondaCop and I approve this message.

I don't think that's what happened... could someone that easily delete every text they had?

Easily can happen when you are messing around with the phone right after waking up and not being completely awake.

I doubt you deleted them all by accident. I've had this happen to me twice now as well. Had you noticed the SMS program being sluggish lately? Both times it has happened to me I've had thousands upon thousands of SMS in the database and the app had slowed to a crawl. I think the app freaks out and corrupts the database or something which results in it just trashing the whole thing and recreating it from zero. Android already has an issue with the messaging app pulling up the wrong conversation/contact once in a while, for it to hose the whole database isn't much of a stretch from there lol.
The stock HTC messaging app doesn't even have a delete all option. You would have to go Menu -> Delete -> and then manually select each individual conversation in order to delete everything.

There's an SMS backup that syncs to GMail. The app is free in the market. I would use that next time.

This also happened to me like two days ago.
really quite lame...lost a lot of photos
The same thing has happened to me twice now. Thousands of messages gone. It happened today for no reason. I put my phone on silent while in an interview and when I got out I had one new text and all of the rest were gone. Total Bullsh!t!
I love deleting all of my texts, do it a few more times and you will feel free.

i use SMS Backup and Restore. I have it configured to do automatic backups of my messages once a week, so at the worst i will lose one week work of messages in the event something goes wrong.
SMS Backup+ I have it set to back em up every hour.
Trying to see if it's their servers. I saw a post today so I checked mine and sure enough I had a error also.

My Gmail has been having issues today.

It happens to me about once a week. A reboot usually forces everything to sync. It's a little annoying.

No issues here

Yea, every time. Not sure if its where I work that does it or its just a brainfart.
Had a sync error, forcing sync now cleared it. For now....
I removed my account and re added it and now everything is syncing fine.
Had the same issue twice over the past two days. Quite annoying.
3 times for me today, very frustrating

I've been having this same problem. thought it may be the rom I'm on (Liquid Smooth 2.3), but apparently its happening all over. It has happened to me about 4 times this week.
So, long story short i accidentally hit send on a very private email and did not notice i put in a different persons email.. long story short i shoved my phone off of wifi and turned off data to cause it to stay in outbox. HOW do i cancel this message or stop it from sending? Im not sure if deleting it will really stop it or not.
Does it still say that it is sending or that it has already been sent? If it is still in draft then you should be OK to delete it then turn data back on.

When this happens you can kill your data connection and then clear data and cache for GMail
Anyone have this issue? My contacts randomly crashes even when I'm on the home screen doing nothing.
Happens to me too. No idea why. Maybe because of some app I've disabled. I don't worry about it.

Try disabling hangouts. That should be the cure. Worked for me.
I also read somewhere Google + can cause contact issues also.
Already disabled. Like I said, I don't sweat the small stuff. ?

No need to quote people who don't sweat the small stuff!
I would ignore it but it just happened 5 times playing boom beach lol
Waiting for lollipop to factory reset.
A Gmail update causes this to crash I read. I have lollipop now so it seems to be fixed but if your still having the issue uninstall the update on the Gmail app and see if it goes away
I had this issue also.. Drove me nuts... I cleared cache and data for contacts and contacts storage and that solved it for about 2 weeks... Then it happened once right when I opened the dialer... After that was about another 10 days or so without it.. Now I have Lollipop so hopefully it's still gone/fixed
Mince crashed a while back a few times then stopped. Happens on my wifes S5 as well. She doesn't use Hangouts.
Mine crashes now when I try to use the favorites tab and HD calling is enabled. If I use the contacts tab it works just fine. It only crashes on the contacts that also have HD calling. Anyone else experiencing this on 5.0?
I've had this problem dialing my wife from favorites. Clearing contacts storage data only temporarily resolves issue. No idea how to fix.
I did a factory reset and now the contacts work just fine even with HD calling enabled.
i have no idea what else i can do. ive searched everywhere but cant find a reason why my s20, completely updated, has no chat features option in the settings and home up just wont show up in goodlock. im on verizon if that matters
Did you use google messages with the chat features enabled on your previous phone? I used to use google messages on my old phone and when i switched to the s20 the stock samsung messages app would not receive texts that were using the rcs features. But when i installed google messages and activated the chat features all the texts that were pending showed up at once. So now im stuck using google messages. Might be the same issue for you?

I havent found a work around yet. Ive tried a bunch of different stuff and no luck. For now im using google messages with chat on to make sure i get all the texts. Ill keep trying different things every few days to see if it ever changes.

So after doing a bunch of different things to fix not getting chat messages what seems to have fixed it was turning off the chat feature on Google messages since that's what i was using cause it worked. Waiting 5 minutes(for it to send the request?) then changing the default messages app to the stock Samsung one. Then changing my sim card to another phone, should say refreshing sim data. Text the people that you had issues with. After like 10 to 15 minutes and verifying that you get the texts, switch back the sim card to your phone and it should now work.
This has worked for me so far all day today. I previously tried resetting phone, deleting contacts, changing sim for a new one and nothing fixed it. Let me know if it works for you.
