Earpiece volume trouble in S9 - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

A few weeks back I was facing an issue with my s9's earpiece which drastically affected the volume of the earpiece. I could hardly head anything while on a call. I suspected this to be a hardware flaw and took it to the service center but all they did was re-flashing the ROM which surprisingly fixed the issue.
I am facing the same issue again for the past few days and I am not sure what kind of service or app is causing this. If anyone is facing similar issue or have faced and resolved such issues, please share your inputs in resolving the issue. Thanks in advance

no sound through ear speaker... hardware problem?

Hi all,
My O2 XDA Orbit (Artemis) developed this problem recently... I can't hear any sound at all through the "ear speaker" (<-- sorry, I don't know what the technical term for it is) while making or receiving a call. I can hear sound through the loudspeaker (I assume it's a different speaker) after turning on the speakerphone though.
On the face of it seems to be a hardware problem to me (maybe a loose connection?), but is there any chance it's a software problem? Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
Would appreciate the experts sharing their valuable knowledge... thanks!

I have similar problem but I think it's software. It only happens when I switch phone to vibrate or silent mode. I can see that both volumes (speaker and ear speaker) goes down, but I cannot volume up only ear speaker, because automatically device turns into "Sound on" mode. It's very strange because I have this "feature" only from 2 weeks. I had not this before.
Can anyone give me some solution? Thanks in advance

Loudspeaker problem

I use the device for the week, and today i got the problem with the loudspeaker, is so low under the maximum volume. Do you know any idea how to resolve the problem?

no sound in call

I have recently been experiencing a weird problem when someone calls me i cannot hear them although the call is ongoing their sound cannot be heard. Iff i then call them back it is fine. Has anyone experienced this. Since this happened i have reinstalled the deodexed nougat rom after wiping everything and it happened once again so i would be interested to know iff anyone else has had this issue maybe my earpiece speaker has a problem. I am hoping this is not the case since i have rooted the phone and hence no warranty.

OP3 Speakerphone loudspeaker appears broken in Android 7?

Hey guys,
I've noticed a problem with my OP3 ever since upgrading to Android 7 that I can't seem to find any information about.
Since the upgrade, the volume of the speakerphone when on loudspeaker is deafly quiet. I've tried both FreedomOS and AOSPA and both have the same issue.
The speakers work fine in every other way and the issue only presented after upgrading to Nougat, which leads me to think it's a software issue rather than hardware related.
Has anyone else had this issue?
I've searched and only find references to low in call microphone issues with the OP3; absolutely nothing relating to the speakerphone's loudspeaker.
Have the exact same problem.. Driving me nuts

Clicking sounds in calls, anyone else?

It seems that in peak volume there are clicks from the earpiece, if though it's too much for the earpiece to produce in volume/frequency, is anyone else facing a similar issue?

Hi fediroth
It seems that the clicking sounds are probably a hardware failure, and Vodafone are replacing the phone for a new one as I'm still within the first 30 days from purchase.
I would recommend you to do the same if possible, as it doesn't seem to be an issue that can be resolved with an update or settings.
I will do a factory reset and I will update if that resolves the issue.
