[Q] Phone shutting off with WiFi enabled

As soon as I turn WiFi on, my phone will reboot. Last night I was able to be on WiFi for about 30 mins until the issue started occurring, then after that it wouldn't last more than a few seconds before rebooting.
I am running Cyanogen 7.0.3. Any suggestions would be great.
Edit: Might this have something to do w/ WiFi Calling? Turned it off within the app and am not having issues at the moment.

I have the same question basically. I keep wifi on all the time at home. About 2 weeks ago my phone started rebooting randomly/intermittently. Would be OK for 5 hours, then reset. 1 hour later, reset again. Good for 8 hours, then reboot 3 times in 30 minutes.
- I am not overclocked
- Tried brand new SD
- Reflashed latest radio
- no new apps
If I turn wifi off at home, it seems to be ok.
some devices do have wifi issues regarding cm. there is supposedly a fix available in the development section. ive never had issues with wifi on cm, so i dont know much about the fix

[Q] GPS Fix Time in Airplane Mode?

Can someone try to do a gps fix outside in airplane mode and tell me how long it takes to fix?
My Nexus S takes a while (1-3 mins), so I'm curious if the barometer helps at all.
I'll check. 10 mins....
Back... so here is what I did.
I put my phone in airplane mode.
Switched the phone off.
Switched it back on, still in airplane mode.
Fired up GPS status. Started the stopwatch.
It took 2 seconds to switch on the GPs receiver.
At 14 seconds it located 6 satellites.
At 18 seconds it located 8 satellites.
At 48 seconds it got a Fix on 8 sats.
Then it knew where I was.
I then force closed GPS Status.
Then the GPS switched itself off.
I then fired up GPS status again.
It took 2 seconds to switch on the GPS.
At 7 seconds it had a fix on 6 sats.
It knew where I was.
At 14 seconds it had a fix on 8 sats.
Should point out that I'm in the UK, but my GN has US server for GPS assistance file. When I root, I'll fix that!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Thanks!
That seems a lot better than my Nexus S, although I expected it to be a bit faster still.
Will do the same w/Nexus S and see how it compares.
Just for fun, I tried again. Same procedure as last time.
0:00:02 GPS on
0:00:15 1 Sat
0:00:36 2 Sats
0:00:38 3 Sats
0:00:41 4 Sats and a Fix! Never noticed a fix on just 4 before
0:00:54 5 Sats and still fix
0:01:01 6 sats and still fix.
Then with my phone still on, killed GPS status and got a fix on 6 Sats in 10 seconds.
So not so good as earlier.
Just north of London, cold night not a cloud in the sky, just lots of stars.
Now if only I could get my PC to ADB to my GNex so I can root it and update GPS.conf
In Airplane Mode you won't have a-gps working, so the gps will either do a hot start (if the gps has been used not long before, in this case it can be very fast ) or a cold-start and will have to download ephemerids from the satellites (can take several minutes depending on how good the reception is).

[Q] Display switching on and off by itself (mysteriousely)

Hi,
since some days I have a strange problem on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 running Jelly Bean:
After I booted my device, I do some things like E-Mail and so and then (after 5 minutes) I just switch the display off.
But after some time, the display is switched on again (by itself, without me even touching the device) and off again.
This happens 5x during the first hour after booting.
I have watched this now for some days and detected a pattern:
Example:
Device booted exactly at 14:00 p.m.
After approx. 3 minutesafter booting: Display switched off manually.
1st Display-On: 14:12:24 till 14:15:32
2nd Display-On: 14:23:33 till 14:26:41
3rd Display-On: 14:34:43 till 14:37:51
4th Display-On: 14:45:52 till 14:49:00
5th Display-On: 14:57:01 till 14:59:06
What I noticed is:
1.) The first 4 Display-On-times always last exactly 3:08, but the last one only 2 minutes (as in the settings) plus the 5 seconds during which the display is dimmed befor switching off.
2.) During the first 4 times the clock stops running approx. 5x for approx. 5-6 seconds and then jumps to the exact time again. Looks as if there is a process or app runnning which is so CPU-intensive that the clock is stopped for some seconds. During the 5th Display-On, the clock keeps running okay.
3.) Time between every Display-Off and the next Display-On is exactly 8 minutes.
4.) After the 5th Display-On the "game" is over and display stays dark as it should (unless I switch it on by myself).
5.) The whole game starts over again exactly 12 hours after I first booted the device with the same routine of 5x Display-On etc.
Does anyone have a clue what could trigger this behaviour which is not only battery-draining but also annoying?
Or does somebody know an App with which I could trace down what causes it?
Just for clarification:
Neither Lookout, TrustGo, Bitdefender or Avira have detected a virus or malware on my device (quadruple-checked!).
Would be thankful for any help!

GPS loses lock.

This happens with every JB rom I have tried. GPS fix makes no difference and it is time related to about 20 mins even if I reboot the lock is lost straight away. If I turn off properly it locks for another 10 mins or so then loses it. Hardware problem ?

Galaxy Wath Auto HR not tracking correctly

Is anyone else having issues with Auto HR not taking every 10 minutes. It seems like the issue started around November 22nd. It's very sporadic between 50 mins to 1.5 hours instead of every 10 mins.

I too have this problem and its only after the latest update. Tried everything from reboot clear cache manual check all but the most good feature of 10 min interval HR has stopped working.
I have already written to samsung for this issue lets hope they give any solution. As far as my guess they have stopped measuring HR in interval when a person is moving and only counts when 10 mins time reaches and person is very still. very weird update.
