I'm guessing that's the case here. There are many reasons why people probably won't get this:
1. Too much competition out that offer more than this
2. No HiFi DAC like its predecessor
3. No headphone jack
4. Uninspiring design that some may not like with a glass sandwich that may make it more brittle
5. Price is too high, unlike the Axon 7
6. No Dual Front Facing Speakers (Has Pseudo stereo speakers instead)
7. Software Support may be affected again(due to politics and all)

I must disagree. The ZTE Axon 9 Pro ist very affordable given its specs. Also, it is the only performant phone sporting a 130 degree ultra wide angle lens. Most phones only have a 77 degree lens, some (Huawei Mate) have a 104 degree lens. In my opinion the ultra wide angle lens is the most underrated feature of today's smartphones.

In fact, you are right. Looks like the camera is different, too. I could not find anything about view angle on the Axon 9 camera, though.

Well in my country i got it for round about 200€ thats why i bought it and not a xiaomi. the specs are awesome for the money and the only thing i want to change is to get a working twrp and root for titanium the rest is fine no need for a rom or something like this i am fine ... but if the bootloader problem is solved there should be easy treble for this device

good welcome to zte world.
Do you want root? (first step flashing recovery TWRP)
How do I do it? to do this you need firehouse or programmer file to flash recovery via EDL.
I wish you good luck guys find it

I dropped the phone once without the case (Spigen), it bounced back with no damage. I wouldn't recommend using it without a case.

It works but there is no built in IR remote app. At least not in mine. LG phones have a capable IR remote app, which covers loads of devices (TVs, DVD Players even beamers). There are some apps in Play Store though.

If you compare what you get from a Sony device, Custom ROM support is non-existing. There are 3-4 ROMs, all have issues. Some people use it as a daily driver but I consider them "alpha-level" maturity.

Very good in bright conditions. Rubbish in dark/semi-dark environments. Also, don't even think about shooting a video if the subject isn't VERY WELL lit.

Yep, it does everything.
On another plus, the battery runs for 3 days with light-moderate usage. The screen is quite pleasant. Speaker output is nice. Very good WiFi rececption (my wife's iPhone loses connection where I still have 2 bars). Overall, it is a good, cheap phone if you don't care about updates and camera performance.

We answered all of your questions, didn't we? The rest is up to you. Personally, I'd compare the screen qualities side-by-side with the Sony device. For me, AMOLED was a deciding factor, despite the fact that it is "just" a 720p display. I personally like looking at it

VR for P8 Lite

Hello. I really want to try VR, and i wanna know if i can connect an Vr to an P8 lite . And where i can buy one?
First of all there is no VR Glasses like Oculus or Vive that you can run with an android phone like the P8 Lite. But theres a solution by google called Cardboard which is a container for your phone that you can strap around your head.
I can recommend you this one if you want a cheap solution:
https://www.amazon.de/Magic-Cardboa...UTF8&qid=1468172240&sr=1-1&keywords=cardboard
And this one is a little more stirdy:
https://www.amazon.de/Pasonomi®-Car...UTF8&qid=1468172240&sr=1-3&keywords=cardboard
There is a lot more on the internet. Just do a quick google search. You can also buy them from almost any site not just amazon.
personal opinion!

Hi, If you want just to try a VR I refer you Cardboard VR. It will cost you around 2.5 - 3$, if you buy it from Ebay. However, its not that much comfortable!
I refer ebay to buy vr online because of wide range of varity and awesome rates, just surf it out!
Ebay link from where i bought mine!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DIY-Cardboa...384312?hash=item51df0ae5b8:g:nAoAAOSwpRRWn28T
it doesn't include head strips to hold vr you have to buy it separatly,

Bad idea to buy a VR since what I know about the P8lite (own one aswell) it doesn't have a gyroscope hence you won't have the same experience as with a phone which has one.

No, you can only do it by flashing, and you need to unlock the bootloader.
I bought google cardboard for this phone, tested it and it's terrible... Up/down movement is okey, but left/right is a disaster... Shaking left/right even if I stay in place

You can, however, watch VR movies or stuff like that. There is a VR player in the playstore and you can select the option to use accelerometer+compass instead of the gyroscope.
(This requires no root access btw)

All kirin 620 powered devices don't have gyroscope. It's "emulated" gyroscope, not so good by it works.

And if I dont want the 360° VR experience but just the VR "virtual screen" sorry idk how to call it, i mean the fixed view of the smartphone screen, to browse, write or work on the smartphone. Is that possible? The resolution should be more than enought no?

[Q] Regarding VoLTE

Hey guys,
Having been here for sometime, I find development of our device is very slow. But there is progress. I mean the fingerprint was resolved, root was resolved. Almost all critical requirements are stable or near to stable.
Keeping that aside, may I ask why VoLTE is not available in any custom ROM? While it works perfectly with stock considering the fact that stock is actually near to stock Android.
With my previous device(Redmi note 3), a wonderful device, VoLTE bug was solved by restoring the correct Radio, Firmware and the EFS partition (mentioning so that it might become useful).
Will that method work for our device? I mean has anyone tried that? Or should we wait for official source release from Lenovo or is it that we've live without VoLTE ?
Sorry for the long post, Thanks for your patience.
Hi, we have Volte code in Lineage 14.1 intial builds.. but later its Gone..!
dont know why.. hope someone answers your question.. !
Not sure if developers are aware of it since majority won't use VoLTE. In the case of Redmi note 3, it's popularity in the Indian market (demanding Reliance Jio) forced devs to find a fix.
Well clearly that's not the case for P2. As we lack popularity and most ROMs are ported rather than built from scratch (I assume. pl correct me if I'm wrong). As a result no one has actually gone into it. If Lenovo has not released the source code then restoring some partition related the radio bands from stock ROM should solve the issue right? Atleast that was the case in RN3.

I am also skeptical to buy p2.The development is not great while RN3 has the best development I guess.Thats why I am stuck in between rn 4 and p2.
If you're crazy for developing then P2 is not for you. I prefer not to do any mods as of now cuz I'm doing all my experiments on RN3
So I bought this having no plans for development... Root yes... But custom ROMs... Nah... RN3 keeps me busy with that.. having said that, I wouldn't prefer RN4 just for the fact that it has better development. Look for other features too.. like the battery and display for instance... And camera too... Honestly I completely disagree with the fact that many complain the camera sucks... I don't really see a reason why as in its a Sony exmor sensor with an f2.2 aperture. Yes it's an f2.2 aperture so low light will be bad it's obvious. But under normal lighting, or sun it's perfect top notch.
Only feature they missed out was an image stabilizer. They could have added any image stabilization tool but then.. for the price it's pretty much over featured I'd say.
Goodluck
This is actually my first phone in a long time that I have no desire to root.
No bloatware to get rid of and have a nice non-root as blocker.

Like I said, I wouldn't normally put features above development, but considering this phone specs features and having used it, I'd definitely suggest P2.
But then there are other factors..
1. Bored to bones with MiUI
2. Redmi feels cheaper and delicate (not sure if I'm alone on this). Holding my RN3 and P2 I could easily pick P2.
3. Camera.. MiUI camera app is ugh.. there's no need for explaining I literally hate it.
4. I'm enjoying P2 without any mods.. not evenroot. Clearly not my type.. but i was able to blend in..
That pretty much sums it up. Posts are bit lengthy because I've been through and did a lot of thinking... Hope I was able to help..
Bottom line, you want development go for RN4 else P2 however you can pretty much stay without rooting.
Another option is recommend is the zuk z2

I an getting more battery, amoled display, fast charging with fast charger and almost stock rom.Thats why I am leaning towards p2.AND i personally like p2'a design.Hope development catches up because 2 devs are here doing all the work for this device.I actually kinda feel sad that p2 didn't sell much.Lenovo should have advertised it.RN4 isn't that great in front of this device. And Xiaomi hasn't even released the sources for RN4 still it's so well developed.I really want this device, but I am a guy that flashes roms like every week.Trying out different roms is my passion:silly:.Had it been Moto P2 instead of Lenovo p2,You could have seen a lot more sales
Hello.
I have my P2 for a month, it is the first phone I do not try to root !!
I would like that LENOVO is a true follow-up on this P2. Better than they did to finalize Nougat 7.0.
As said above, if it to a default is the lack of photo stabilizer.
Can I expect a pass on Android 8.0 :fingers-crossed: ... A dream ?
Is there anybody working on "VOLTE Patch" ???

P2 - Worth buying?

I have some questions plz answer these -
1. Does it have 2.5 D glass
2. How good is the display i.e. are blacks deep like Samsung phones considering it has an amoled display
3. How is the build quality?Had any scratches
4. How good is development for this phone ,I mean I have Mi4 and still is well developed Can I expect these to be developed for at least 2 - 3 years.
5.Is camera that bad ?
1. No.
2. IMO yes.
3. Superb. No wiggle room anywhere.
4. TBH quite bad at the moment compared to other devices. It seems like progress is being made although very slowly. The stock ROM is decent enough to warrant using it in the meantime though.
5. It's bad. God... So bad.
The display is amazing, i didn't want to purchase another Amoled screen ever again since the Samsung Galaxy Nexus but this phone is worth it.
Even though the build is great with an all metal build.. you should still get a case and screen protector to keep it shiny.
I'm sure development will get much better, there is no rush. After reading around the forums it seems the Roms are usable.. but hey.. it is a lot better than the Dev for the Zenfone Max. They have troubles with no offline charging and phone doesn't turn on when battery reach 0%, so users have to keep it above 5% in order to not semi brick it. This device don't have those bugs.. so that's good.
Also another good thing is that they have numerous Roms and am glad that they update the Lineage 13 Roms too, but Stock Rom is just as fine.
Until Lenovo fully stops updating soon; probably by September 2018.. using Custom Roms would be ideal to update when it happens. That would be my suggestion.

From a technical perspective it seems like a great device indeed. But you are correct. Moto & Redmi (I guess Huawei too) are more widely-spread. However (speaking for me and the local market) compared to the best available version of Moto G5, this phone has slightly better technical specifications (+1gb ram) for the same price.
Dude, I really hope, that I will enjoy this phone as much as my old G2 and my ancient Galaxy S. :fingers-crossed:

Why Redmi 5 Plus is my last Xiaomi phone ever ?

After having 3 Redmi phones i think i finally have enough.
Once i had Redmi 3S, Redmi 4X, then Redmi 5 Plus. I don't think i will buy a new one and here's why.
1) Well, they had great specs for their price, but they compromise durability by using cheap, weak and low-series aluminum to make their phones. That's why Mi5 and Redmi Note 3 failed Jerry's durability test. Basically, these are one drop phones. Europe is used to durable phones like Nokia, LG or Sony.
2) Software. My Redmi 3s had MIUI 7 out of the box, so i disabled some google poop i don't use and then updated to MIUI 8, unexpectedly bricking my phone for next 3 days until i was allowed to unlocked the bootloader, which was necessary to re-flash the device. MIUI 8 was great, had alot of features and MIUI 9 made things faster, but... My annoyance level is similar to dealing with Meizu phones. Some themes make unwanted changes to my home screen layout. Messenger notifications are quiet, just silent pop sound instead of normal messenger sound when screen is locked and off. On Redmi 5 Plus i had YouTube issue, where video as well as whole UI was freezing sometimes. This was ridiculous.
3) Ads ! Ads everywhere ! They started pop up in system apps such as Music, Videos , Themes and Settings after MIUI 9 update. Xiaomi, are you serious ? That is definitely unacceptable.
4) After MIUI 9.5 update themes app disappeard from my phone. To restore it, i had to change region to United States.
I switched back to Windows Phone.

I don't have any problem with YouTube
Also not have those ads on system apps. Maybe it's something from 3rd party app...
About themes app is something about new laws on European Union. Not have to keep region changed. Change to download and apply theme and then change it back to your country.
Actually, the Redmi 5 plus passed the bend test. Also I don't see any ads on mine, maybe you have the china version?
I do not see any of those issues as well. Also, if you have a problem with MIUI, you can always count on the great community and install an AOSP rom. It is your choice how you use your phone.

The first thing to do with a Xiaomi device is to replace miui with a more sensible ROM.
Miui is cool. I have R5+ with xiaomi.eu rom, rooted with adaway app, and it's without any of these things.
Just read dude, it's not complicated to setup phone.
Other roms are also good choice, why not.
Only semi valid point is one, it's a freaking $ 150 dollars phone, so come on...
2. It's your fault for not learning to use settings properly, none of these problems are problems per se. Just you not getting used to your phone.
3. There are like 2apps that put ads on the system apps, and totally removable, even from the settings
4. Really? You just posted the solution to that problem.
lmao so instead of embracing the value Xiaomi devices and understand compromises you move over to an officially dead phone OS?
Redmi Note 5 is my first Xiaomi phone, and i can say that my next phone will 100% be Xiaomi again, why ? Because i had a Sony phone which i dropped from half a meter and the whole screen came out, couldn't be rooted and nobody bothered to make good roms for it. My note 5 has been dropped 3-4 times on hard cement, just the plastic part got scuffed. I haven't seen an AD during my use with stock MIUI , haven't had any freezes and i could give a rats booty about the theme app.
And now even we have got SOC 710 at 18000 price mi8se :fingers-crossed: :silly: which is seriously awsome :*)
You can deactivate the ads of the system in his settings on apps and system. Look tutorials in Xiaomi officcial forums.

A good build of LineageOS would be great. What do you recommend?

At the moment, Liquid Remix or crDroid. When Validus settles down on Vince, and SlimROM moves to Oreo, then my eventual preferences would be (1) SlimROM, (2) Validus.
Nothing serious then? OP is just *****ing

Vince is perfectly okay for the price. The problems he is experiencing are mainly with miui. Yes, the components are cheap - but you get what you paid for. For me, it is a brilliant phone. And so is mido. You just need to adjust your expectations. There is no point in having a champagne taste on a coca cola budget.

thats what i do, always
before buying a phone instead checking its review i just come on xda and see how good is development. and thats enough for me to make a decision.

Yes, that is the way to do it.
Redmi Note 3SD, Redmi Note 4X, and now Redmi 5 Plus. Just awesome devices for the price! No problem whatsoever!
I think one of the main reasons I bought a xiaomi phone was to get a very decently specced phone at budget prices, unlock the bootloader of a xiaomi phone > install a custom rom > get a phone that's miles better than the competition at the same price range

Also this, I also check if the phone has a snapdragon processor which increases the chances of getting more development done in the form of custom roms.

Yep. You don't want to go with the "other" SoC that Xiaomi often uses. I had about 5 different Xiaomi phones with that SoC, and their custom ROM support sucks big time (mainly due to lack of kernel sources).
