Google Assistant has always worked fine, but I've had intermittent problems with voice activation by saying "OK Google" or "Hey Google" being ignored. I finally nailed down the problem to Magisk.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

While in a call on Skype or Hangouts my voice sounds very high pitched and sped up. Wifi calling and normal calls i sound fine. I've tried other kernels with no luck.
Turn off the "OK Google" Detection 'From any screen' which you'll find under settings in Google's 'Voice Search' app.
You may have to reboot.
how random is this!!!! I just tried searching this issue so many ways and tumbled upon this. i NEVER would have figured this out.
So, I'm having this weird issue where Google assistant will activate but quit listening for voice input when I say OK Google with the screen off. Anyone else have this issue?
I cannot get "Ok Google" to activate the Google Assistance after upgrading to PIE.
I have even tried to retrain the voice but It never hears me "Ok Google" to complete the process.

Just a thought but make sure microphone permission is checked for the Google app. Don't know how it would get unchecked without you knowing though.

Anyone else have issue with "Ok Google" detection not working.
was working some weeks ago so maybe update issue
Having problems myself. It's kind of sporadic. I can never get it to work in the car like it used to, which for me is a big pain I tested it a moment ago and the only way it would work is when I put my mouth right up to the microphone. Is there a way to increase the microphone sensitivity for this?
So microphone seems to work in whatsapp calls but not on other apps like discord for example. Anyone got any fix?
Could be an adblocker.... My daughter couldn't use audio message on Snapchat and a few other apps and after removing from her adguard firewall all started working again. It's a longshot but hope you get it fixed

Could you please explain how exactly to do that? Are you referring to OK Google detection or what?
just disable "hey google" and you can use assistant via navigation gestures or power button
