FM Radio Now Fully Working and App Included (Pie) - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

This is a Biggie for some folk, and me included.
Very pleasant surprise to see it there now, the QMMi temporary 'fix' wasn't very good at all, but this seems great so far.

Works great, even better than the QMMI fix. Does anybody know of any FM Radio apps that have RDS or Preemphasis settings (not internet radio)?

That is wonderfull!
Soon as I recieve my Rhodium I´ll install it
Thanks!
What is the fix for?
What problem is this patch supposed to address? Slow/intermittent GPS lock, Lag, or some other problem?
As far as I can see it is simply an animated GIF set to display during boot and changing some registry entries relating to the GPS intermediate driver and increasing the file system cache.

yes tom,
the reason i added the gps is that the stupid microsoft visual studio wont allow to build cab files with out a file in it.
it indeed adjust a couple of registry settings but if you do it in the way it is writen above you get a gps fix,
It is for the
lag problem, getting no gps signal in any way.
i even get gps in house now

I have a fix with out this in 3 sec in mine house with google maps.(5sat.)

Do you know if T-Mobile TP2s need the new radio driver, or is the included radio up-to-date?

if yours works out of the box, don't patch it.
mine is Tmo TP2 and get almost instant sat lock, so I am not going to patch mine for now.
That's the radio version I have. What does the cab file do? Does it automatically change the registry settings for the GPS Intermediate driver? If so, I have made those changes and I still get GPS lag.
gps lag
i work at a auto repair shop and on occasion i get the oppurtunity to drive a customers car that has a dedicated gps. what i have noticed is that the lag time with those dedicated units and my old touch diamond and touch pro is that the lag time is about the same. i have not tested it with my current phone (tp2)just yet but it seems about the same maybe a little faster. imho i think it has something to do with the lag time with the gps signal having to travel so far. if we think about it, the signal has to travel out into space and then back down. things no matter how fast are not instantaneous.
btw i love this phone. i just typed all this on my tp2! great keyboard.
just my two cents
GPS is another reason I miss my HTC Dream. It was fast and worked indoors. SO far, I see no improvement with this radio and .cab. Of course, I already had an alleged GPS fix with a different radio (3.44.25.27 +A-GPS hot fix). I will test outside now. So far nothing indoors. update: well... it does seem to pick up faster outside now. good fix! not great but a bit better than before. good find!
This Fix works great in my TP2...
Question: Installed but my free program down 6MB..? BTW I'm using Miri V 1.1 Manila 2.5
Edit: My Garmin 5.00.20w works better than my TyTNII... It locks inside my house within 5 second.. More amazing in my bed room which I never get any GPS signal... Antonius .. Genius...

Sadly, mine's not working un-patched. TeleNav and Google Maps both are having a hard time getting satelite locks, indoors and out, moving and stationary

p.s. did you update your radio rom ?

Cooked Rom with GM/Chevy OEM Bluetooth

Hi guys.
Have kind of an odd one. I am trying to get my Tilt2 to work with Silverado OEM Bluetooth. Really strange in that with a cooked ROM loaded (tried probably 5-6 now) it will not work properly. It will connect/pair alright. I can make and receive calls with CallerID working fine but when I actually connect, no sound goes through on either end.
But if I flash the official At&t ROM, it works fine. For giggles, I tried paring with my old Tilt1 which has a cooked rom running WM6.5 and it works fine.
I know it is kind of a long shot but I figured I would ask if anyone had any ideas.
Thanks
Ernie
Search the Rhodium forums for bluetooth + car, there are some solutions which involve registry tweaking that should work.

[BOUNTY] Thread for porting fm radio to GT

We all know that the chipset is in there and that other devices have succesfully been enabled. I would like to get fm for the GT. I think this feature needs more exposure to succeed. Others have come close.
If there already is a thread let me know.
$50 for a working fm radio.

Does Spirit FM app work with root?

My G4 is on its way.
I was wondering if anyone can confirm we can reenable the FM functionality with root?
Such as using the Spirit FM app?
Nobody? Need some help to verify this. Otherwise I have no reason to root..
come on guys, for anyone with a root G4 (At&t, Tmo or Vzn).... it is a quick check.
Spirit1 and Spirit2 say they're for AOSP roms only, so probably not. I'm not going to pay the $9 to find out.
Tried nextradio and it doesn't see the receiver. (Rooted US Tmobile) I believe I earlier possibly saw an item on a hidden menu that referred to the receiver, not sure if this could possibly turn the fm receiver chip back on.)

Radio break off at a time period

Hello guys,
My MTCD android radio has the problem that if I start the radio app, the radio plays music then it stop, then the radio plays, then the radio stock and so on.
I have testet several software version (original, hal9k, android 5.1.1, android 7.1.1,...) and several mcu versions.
If I hear music I haven't a problem. The problem exists just at the frequency radio app. I try a other radio app with a deactive radio setting in the settings, too. Don't work. Same problem.
I think a hardware defect? What i must change to solve the problem?
Thanks.
Regards.

Post MCU version
MCU version is MTCE_GS_V3.30.
I have test several MTCD and MTCE GS versions.
Nobody an idea?
@kevin4200 bumping the issue usually won't get additional responses. Thank you for providing adequate detail about your system. Most people don't provide as much info as you did.
Maybe it could be a temperature/thermal issue if it works for a period of time and quits. Then after you turn system off and wait a while it starts working again? Maybe thermal issue with the radio module in the head unit??
I don't quite understand your statement:
"The problem exists just at the frequency radio app. I try a other radio app with a deactive radio setting in the settings, too. Don't work. Same problem."
Also suggest trying NavRadio+ Free edition developed by XDA member @KoTiX2. You can find the app on the Google Play store. Maybe if it works for you that you'll consider purchasing the full version. Don't mean to come across as a troll trying to sell a radio app, but the work done by @KoTiX2 is really quite good.
I think it is the, not working correct, AF function.
if you disable AF is it working correct? If so, try to change the AF treshold in factory settings.
I have had a similar problem... i had a android auto dongle connected to my headunit... it was forcing all my other apps to close when connected. Do you have anything connected via usb to your headunit? or an sd card installed?
