I'm 5'8" and it fits just fine in all my pockets.

Im a midget on 178cm/5,8 feet and it fit 100% without any problems [emoji1305]

Me too it fix well in jeans and pants.... But be careful squating down... Unless you put it at back pocket

Avoid wearing hipster skinny jeans and you will be fine.

Make a cardboard mockup and test it yourself

Regarding the size of the phone.... it is big as in huge big... weird though... a coupe weeks with it and it becomes normal sized
Regarding fitting in pockets, I am about the same height.. wear regular fitting clothes (not tight)... I have no problems with this phone fitting in my jeans and pants pockets... I have owned phablets including the Sony Ultra Z... never had issues carrying them in the front pocket of my pants.

Please suggest leather belt case that can fit Note with slim rubber case

Hola
I see a growing list of sites now offering leather cases for the Galaxy Note. My problem is that I already have a slim rubber case over my Note so it add a little extra bulk to the Note that now it won't fit into any of these leather cases.
I presently have the SGP Ultra Capsule case for the Note:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SGP-Ultra-Capsule-Case-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-N7000-BLACK-/260938444071?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3cc124ad27
I am even willing to use a generic camera case as long as it can fit on my belt. I searched a number of local computer shops, photography outlets, even a few places at the local mall (those kiosks) that has anything that can accommodate this extra size... I found nothing yet!!!
Can someone please help me? Do you think if I searched say for the Dell Streak 5" that such cases can work for the Note in a slim rubber case?
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
I suggest the PDair P01 leather case. I have it and it fits great with a TPU case on the GNote. A little snug, but no problems getting it in and out of the case. I think it would probably fit your case as well. The PDair case is a bit pricey (around $40), but the quality is great.

people that wear phones on there belts look like complete douches!!! don't do it!!
At some point in life, you have to quit caring what people think about you and do what you want. Carrying a phone on your belt is certainly much more comfortable than in your pocket. Try it. You may change your mind.

NO sir, you are a douch! It is not easy to fit the note in your pocket you know
How small are your pockets? I wear skinny jeans most of the time and have no issues, it fits perfect and you don't even realise its there, and the other 2 people who wear phones on there belts, don't do it because they don't care what people think, they do it to show off there phone, which makes them douches.

Just think how many people would not be able to post how they scratched their GNote screen because they put it in their pocket...if they wore it on their belts, lol! The fact that you said skinny jeans means you are probably under 30.
It may not be cool to wear your phone on your belt, especially a GNote, but it sure is comfortable and practical!

Eh what do you mean? Your phone is miles safer in your pocket than on your belt buckle. And I am 30 :-D, what does that have to do with anything? Again it isn't uncomfortable carrying your phone in your pocket? Plus its on show so you gearing yourself up to get mugged.
I have always worn my phone on my belt if I can, except for very small phones. That does not include the Note! I have far too much other stuff in my pockets - credit card wallet, money wallet & keys. I have tried to reduce these, but there is just too much I need to have with me.
I am waiting for a couple of noreve cases (one with belt clip) and a 'tough as nuts' case (with a proper belt loop). In the mean time, to avoid bulk and scratches, I picked up a couple of neat cases for a Navman GPS device. One is a semi-hard case with foam padding for travel & storage, the other is a 'normal' case with a bit on the back I unpicked to make a belt loop. After a month of wear I need to re-sew the loop, but apart from that it is fine. Those two were about $30.
It is just a bit too loose for my liking, so would probably fit nicely with a rubber case. The inside is smooth so it should slide.
As I usually do now, check the GPS section of any electronics store and find the cases. Find the one that fits. I used to look for camera cases, but these have become to small & fat, where phones are now thinner and larger.
Check out this item I found on eBay:

mine arrived today, faux leather but fits the Note with PU case. Easily slipped in and out. Looks nice, get compliment and somehow people didn't think the leather case was big, but when I take my phone out, then they think it's big.

When have you seen people who wear their phone in a holster on their belt crying because their screen was scratched by keys or grains of sand in the pocket etc? I referenced your age because as discussed you are still at that age where you care what people think. I have done both with the GNote and wearing it on the belt in a leather holster is much simpler and more comfortable. I can actually use my pockets for other things and not have to worry about my GNote.
Just a preference, neither is right or wrong.

Otterbox Defender for Lumia 900 Review

I've recently picked up an otterbox defender for my 900. I dont have pictures but there's a video i watched on youtube before purchasing the case.
First off, for those who don't know, there are two cases for the 900, the communter and defender. The commuter appealed to me more due to the thinner form factor, but upon trying it on, there were several openings where dust/dirt could get in from everyday use, and the inner silicone did not exactly fit like a glove. Also, unlike the defender, the headphone jack is left open and lacks a "built in" screen protector. (you get a typical plastic stick on protector) So i went with the defender.
Like the commuter, it is a 2 part case, except the silicone is on the outside of the hard shell enclosing the phone. Unlike the commuter though, the defender comes with a belt clip/kickstand. Not very useful to me but maybe some of you use a beltclip.
The first thing you'll notice with the defender is it is thick, and by thick i mean it literally doubles the thickness of the phone. It seems cumbersome at first, but i've been using it for about 3 days and im getting used to it. Probably not for those who want to keep the form factor of the phone. It does however fit in my pocket no problem. no Lin issues with the silicone either. Also, you can put your phone facedown now because theres a 2 cm ridge from the screen. (check videos/online photos you'll know what i mean)
I've had otterboxes before (iphone 3GS, dell streak) and the Lumia otterbox is a huge improvement form the older ones. Previous otterboxes i've had slighty scratches the phone when clicked together, but the Lumia version has a layer of foam inside to prevent sliding/abrasion within the case and dirt/dust entry. It's also easier to take apart imo. The bulit in screen protector is excellent (however if you are currently using a stick on protector you need to peel it off or else ur screen sensitivity will become utter crap (you'll have to press really hard).
The outer silicone is also different form other otterboxes, it's stiffer, more difficult to put on but stays in place. switches now have a more "clickier" feeling, probably due to the switches being elevated by the silicone. The whole phone is basically covered, including the chrome at the back which is nice for a change. The only things left unprotected are the mics on the top and bottom (speaker grille)
I only have a couple complaints:
Price - it IS a 60 dollar case with taxes and everything.
The touch buttons at the bottom are a bit hard to press; sometimes my finger doesnt register due to the risen edge surrounding the front of the phone. It is a tad bit annoying but i rather put up with a minor inconvenience than shatter my phone's screen from a drop.
Overall I'd give this case an 8/10.
I have no clue how you can ruin the phone's amazing design with such bulku cases.
I have the original Nokia gel case and this case does justice to the phone's design.
I bought the Commuter but it was a lot bigger than I expected. Well, a lot thicker anyway. I loved the commuter for the iPhone 4 but it's just too big for my taste on the L900. I did end up buying the Speck Fitted for the L900 and it's a great case without too much bulk, however I do still really like the gel case cuz it looks like there isn't even a case on the phone

Same here, with the gel case everyone asks me if there is a case on it, and when I tell them there is they comment on how they can't even tell.
I was tempted to buy the Defender just cuz I sometimes I need that on my phone, but it's just insanely huge to me, I couldn't deal with it. I am also a strong advocate against men wearing skinny jeans too so, I don't have problems putting phones in my pocket lol.

How do you balance safety vs bulky cases?

As a bare phone I have found that very quickly my Note 4 is not big, it is my G5 that is small. The Note 4 fits easily into pants and jacket pockets. However that may change as I add a case.
How do you make the trade off between a bulky case which may come with perceived high degree of safety, yet at the same time perhaps no longer fit easily in a pants or jacket pocket?
Thanks

Folio/Wallet/Flipcases provide above moderate protection and adds a little bulk. (if your pockets or jacket pockets can fit trifold wallets it will fit a note 4 with a folio case without too much trouble.)
While life proof cases provide high protection but makes your phone feel like fort Knox.
The there are the minimalistic bumpers/featherlight/frames which add the least amount of bulk and offers little in the drop protection if your phone falls at a bad angle especially screen down.
I got a caseology case with slightly raised bumper around the screen and a uv screen protector. Didn't seem to add much bulk and the only thing I've noticed is that my windshield holder is a bit tight. If the gorilla glass on this is half as good add the galaxy s3, I don't see a situation where the phone will be in much danger other than from water.

I own 2 different ones from this company and love the both. Provides the needed scratch protection without bulking up. There really is no need for a bulky case on most phones now.

Just be careful. I've never used a case and have had cell phones for fifteen years without breaking one. I also stopped using screen protectors when Gorilla Glass came along, and have had no scratches since then.
You do need to take care to anticipate and avoid likely failure modes. But you need to do that even with a case, since it provides only partial protection anyway.
* Carry the phone only in a snug front pants pocket, display facing inward, nothing else in the pocket. And verify that the phone is actually inside the pocket before releasing your grip.
* If you place it on a surface, make sure it's face-up and not precariously near the edge, and not perched over a toilet.
* When a power cord or headset cord is attached, be extremely careful that there's no opportunity to hit the cord and drag the phone so it falls. Try to use BT headsets rather than wired ones.
You'll eventually break a phone even if you're careful. But if it only happens once every ten or twenty years, it's still preferable to the expense and inconvenience of using cases.
I use uag case the best of both worlds.

If I'm going to be in a precarious situation or if I'll be running around in a hurry, I add the protection of a bulky case. If I'm going to be in a situation where I can afford to be more careful I'll use it without the case.
I got the Spigen Case Capsule. It's keeps the phone nice and thin. Seems protected enough, small lip and it sits flush on the back. Camera don't stick out. But I am very carful with my phones.

That sounds wise. I'm rarely in an environment more challenging than an office, so when I am I just put the phone in a padded pocket in my backpack. If that were a more frequent occurrence, I'd get a case to use in those situations.

Pouch idea, but will it work?

The dimensions of this phone are 6.26" x 2.6" x .66" closed. I've been looking for a nice pouch to put it in rather than a case. I didn't find much but came across the idea to adapt a case for a different purpose to housing this phone. With that in mind here is a link to a case for eyeglasses that I think might work, what do you folks think?
https://www.lucrin.com/accessories/...ard-size-glasses-tan-real-ostrich-leather.htm
i bought a pouch for the fold and thats what i expect to use rather than a case.
I have use a microfiber sunglass pouch for my phone even if it has a case and screen protector. Helps keep pocket dust and stuff out and also serves as a cleaning cloth if needed. Been doing it for 6+ years now.
So I'm not Bat feces crazy, or at least not the only one who is bat feces crazy. I'm still sorting stuff out but I expect to be buying a nice high end leather pouch of some kind for this thing, ostrich, croc, etc. When you've spent this much money on a phone why not throw good money after bad?
Problem being when you're putting in or taking out of the pouch; sooner or later you'll fumble and it will tumble.
It's size, frequency of use and lack of sure handgrips almost guarantees it to happen.
Putting a tether on it might help, but a good case is mandatory to protect it.
B&H carries many different pouches and bags, their customer service is second to none. I use cargo and tactical pants to stash my 10+, works pretty well most times but only it's case has saved it from concrete hell.

Too many learned the hard way with the heavy near no bevel Note's when they fall with no case.
One case the owner's dog's tail whacked it off the table to patio oblivion.
Two layered protection systems generally work best ie hard polycarbonate shell with a semi hard urethane liner. Sort of slim pickens but the last two on this list here look promising.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/best-samsung-galaxy-z-fold-2-cases/?amp
Eye ball them carefully. You want some screen protection that will also double as false touch guards but not too excessive or it will impede usage.
Be careful that mic and speaker ports aren't covered.
At this price point these phones should have a hard tether point just like a camera...
not everyone is clumsy with smartphones. back in the day i use to use pouches all the time with big ass phones like the hitachi G1000 (google it) , the IBM Simon, and newer phones like the htc one max, and never had issues dropping it. lots of OG fold owners did not use a case on those phones and many had no issues.
sure some people are all thumbs with gadgets and that's why cases were made , but lets not post up that everyone drops phones because everyone don't.
matter of fact, my old school nexus 6 - i used a pouch with it, and still looks great all these years later...
Just a matter of time until fate shows you life isn't fair...
pouch
last couple days i've tried both of these cases and they are fine. i saw a cool looking case in the case thread i just picked up , but for now either of these are good for me.
Lowepro makes good gear. For a bare phone this is probably big enough as their internal dim specs tend to be generous. Belt or holster style mount with double lock velcro tabs that don't fail.

Yes, I'm also using the Shocksock that I bought for my original Fold on the Fold 2 now.
Fitbag, a German pouch, is also very good, but exactly fits the device, so even a thin back cover will make the device circumference too large.

Question Who Else Goes Naked?

I use one of the slimmest cases available, but even that makes an already bulky phone bulkier. So, a few days ago I decided to ditch the case and see how it is naked. What a difference. The outer screen is easier to use without a rim around it, and carrying it in hand and in pocket, it is noticeably smaller. In full screen mode, I think it looks nicer, too.

I'm not handy and need a case. I will defently lett the naked (and slippery phone) fall...
Also i use a S-pen wich is in my case.
When i clean my phone/case i understand what you mean but it's t dangerous for me...
I've attached a link to the case I use. It also carries my s-pen, but I find that I don't really use the S-Pen. I suppose I'll miss it, the first time I have a need for it.

If you keep in a pocket that's cotton lined you'll get lint build up. Probably something you don't want with this device. At least turn the pocket inside out when washing.
Had that problem with my Buds+ case when kept in the front cotton lined pocket. In the 60/40 cotton/polyester thigh pocket there's no build up. It's now kept in the other cargo pocket as is my N10+. No more build up. No more port cleaning.
I’m on the “no case” team. Phone is already bulky enough… I like the feel of the phone without any case. I have a S-Pen case that came with the preorder goodies, but I only bought it for the S-Pen.
I would love having my Fold naked, but I´m not that brave, so, I use a aramid/kevlar case from AliExpress that is both protective and slim at same time: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100....order_list.order_list_main.28.5ecf1802HDCCsX

And naked I think will feel the best but I almost had a couple close calls when it was charging and when I walked by it got hooked on me, and I'm not the biggest fan of how it likes to attract the fingerprints
Naked is best but one drop can be catastrophic!
I've been using the Samsung leather case and am used to it.
I recommend a pouch type holster in any case to carry it around regardless of being in a case or not. If naked, IMHO, it's the ONLY way to go!
I got this one for my Fold 3 and it fits all the xxl sized phones too! The lining is very soft, phone stays clean and scratch and lint free and it's not so bulky and has no hard edges to dig into you when sitting down.

Decided I wanted to protect the phone! However the Samsung case I paid 80 $ for sucked. Front screen was really frustrating.
Decided again after reading this thread to go caseless
And just like every other phone I have used in the last ten years, I put skateboard griptape on the back! It is a wonder of the world.

I would if it wasn't for the camera bump making git a rocking boat when sitting folded on a table.
Usually I do when out though I use the official grip case
I was using a i blason clear case. But that thing attracts so much of my hand oils its a nightmare to keep clean. Just handling it for 5 minutes makes eberythng nasty. Holding this fold 4 naked in my hand is just perfection.
I may return that case. Or keep it for when going outside or work.
Unless someone knows of a better clear case.
Normally i dont care if its clear. But i waited a damn month for this burgundy color and damn strait imma show it somehow lol
