Pouch idea, but will it work? - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Accessories

The dimensions of this phone are 6.26" x 2.6" x .66" closed. I've been looking for a nice pouch to put it in rather than a case. I didn't find much but came across the idea to adapt a case for a different purpose to housing this phone. With that in mind here is a link to a case for eyeglasses that I think might work, what do you folks think?
https://www.lucrin.com/accessories/...ard-size-glasses-tan-real-ostrich-leather.htm

i bought a pouch for the fold and thats what i expect to use rather than a case.

I have use a microfiber sunglass pouch for my phone even if it has a case and screen protector. Helps keep pocket dust and stuff out and also serves as a cleaning cloth if needed. Been doing it for 6+ years now.

So I'm not Bat feces crazy, or at least not the only one who is bat feces crazy. I'm still sorting stuff out but I expect to be buying a nice high end leather pouch of some kind for this thing, ostrich, croc, etc. When you've spent this much money on a phone why not throw good money after bad?

Problem being when you're putting in or taking out of the pouch; sooner or later you'll fumble and it will tumble.
It's size, frequency of use and lack of sure handgrips almost guarantees it to happen.
Putting a tether on it might help, but a good case is mandatory to protect it.
B&H carries many different pouches and bags, their customer service is second to none. I use cargo and tactical pants to stash my 10+, works pretty well most times but only it's case has saved it from concrete hell.

Huh... Probably good advice, I'm going to have to think about this one or at least measure my willingness to take the potential hit from going naked.

Too many learned the hard way with the heavy near no bevel Note's when they fall with no case.
One case the owner's dog's tail whacked it off the table to patio oblivion.
Two layered protection systems generally work best ie hard polycarbonate shell with a semi hard urethane liner. Sort of slim pickens but the last two on this list here look promising.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/best-samsung-galaxy-z-fold-2-cases/?amp
Eye ball them carefully. You want some screen protection that will also double as false touch guards but not too excessive or it will impede usage.
Be careful that mic and speaker ports aren't covered.
At this price point these phones should have a hard tether point just like a camera...

not everyone is clumsy with smartphones. back in the day i use to use pouches all the time with big ass phones like the hitachi G1000 (google it) , the IBM Simon, and newer phones like the htc one max, and never had issues dropping it. lots of OG fold owners did not use a case on those phones and many had no issues.
sure some people are all thumbs with gadgets and that's why cases were made , but lets not post up that everyone drops phones because everyone don't.
matter of fact, my old school nexus 6 - i used a pouch with it, and still looks great all these years later...

Just a matter of time until fate shows you life isn't fair...

pouch
last couple days i've tried both of these cases and they are fine. i saw a cool looking case in the case thread i just picked up , but for now either of these are good for me.

Lowepro makes good gear. For a bare phone this is probably big enough as their internal dim specs tend to be generous. Belt or holster style mount with double lock velcro tabs that don't fail.

Which model ? I've been wanting to a get a shocksock pouch for my fold 2, but they only make it for the fold 1.

The one for the Fold 1 fits the Fold 2 like a glove. Get that one!

Yes, I'm also using the Shocksock that I bought for my original Fold on the Fold 2 now.
Fitbag, a German pouch, is also very good, but exactly fits the device, so even a thin back cover will make the device circumference too large.

Which make is the second, holster-like pouch?

Used Lowepro gear for over a decade. Holds up well.
You need a belt or horizontal strap to mount this. The double securing velcro fasteners stay put.
B&H... were the pros go. Massive inventory and no bs.

Just got mine, and it really does fit like a glove, looks like it was made for the 2 instead of the 1

I was actually looking for something nice, ie real leather, that sort of thing. I do thank folks for their ideas and responses all the same, I may go to the sock if I cant find a nice ostrich leather or something similar.

When I buy clothes I look for ones the will accommodate the phone and other gear;
BDU pants, and vests with chest pockets etc.
The phone gets it's own pocket... works well.

dam it...I just saw this post after I already put the order in...maybe they'll be nice enough and let me attach the 10% off if I call it in now...
I preordered through Cellularaccessory.com for $58.
Just confirmed with their sales on the phone that they will ship from their warehouse on 6/14.
I remember there is a free shipping code floating around somewhere too.
So if you can wait a few days more, you can save a nice $30 less tax with these guys.
just gave otterbox a call...gave the sales rep the promocode and was able to get the 10% off and because their computers are down at the moment he gave me an additional 10%...
can't wait to get this in and on the XOOM...

There are videos of the bb and ipad.
But honestly, what's ur alternative?
Almost 100 bucks? Now I need a case to protect my Otterbox.
i have one of this case from Kevikev http://kevikev.com/addtocart.sc it only cost be abot $35 back when i got it. believe it or not it is a lot more of a professional looking case and very stylish. i can walk into work with it, or even church. with the otterbox case i'll look like a construction worker. or someone who work with a lot of kids and don't want my xoom to damage. and honestly i don't see the extra protection in the otterbox case. cuz i won't be droping my xoom anytime soon. and so the case is mainly to serve as a stand and a jacket for the device. not a bullet proof.
i also just came across this from the walmart site. it actually look similar to otterbox, obviously not as strong from the looks of it, but design wise it is very similar without the hard screen cover/stand for the otterbox. check it out, if i do seem to find more information on it, i'll give it a try, they also do a free site to store, so yo can pick it up at your local walmart for free. and it only cost $14. maybe a couple dollars extra for tax. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Amzer-Transparent-Jelly-Case-for-Motorola-XOOM-Black/16539974

If you're fine with putting a $600+ tablet in a standard folio case just because you're worried about what people with think when they see you with it, then have at it. Personally I want a case to PROTECT my device and I don't care what other people think about it's appearance. It's known that the otterbox cases add a little bit to the size, but the protection they are known to afford the devices make up for that.
I had a standard plastic shell case on my phone and after I dropped it onto asphalt getting into my truck one day it broke apart. The phone was undamaged so I was lucky. I got an otterbox case after that and I don't freak out now if I drop the phone (which I have a few times) because I know it's not going to get damaged. I have the standard motorola folio case and have been waiting for this one to come out so I can stop worrying about dropping my xoom. I'm not going to buy it from otterbox though because I know I can get it cheaper elsewhere.
The one from walmart is just a silicone case. The otterbox is a polycarbonate shell with a silicone case around it. BIG difference there in the protection. Even in the name is says "transparent JELLY case".

i obviously bought my case becasue i like it. not becasue someone said to buy it. you seem to have miss the point. by stating that the case is a professional and stylish case was my opinion based on my needs. and for my job, the otterbox case is just not going to cut it, also my opinion. and FYI, the cases i have do "PROTECT"t my device so it wouldn't matter what people say including you. my point that the case will me look like a construction worker, was also my opinion. becasue it goes to fact that if i work consruction i would want the extra protection. i don't drop my xoom, like you have. so the extra wight and looks is not my style.
otterbox cases was made for folks who want maxumum protection, i for one had an otterbox case when i had an iphone. it was worth it then, becasue i could drop my phone often. but my XOOM will not be tasting the floor anythime soon, becasue i am very carefull with it. unlike a phone i have no reason to have it on my lap when driving and will never forget it's on my lap before i get out of the car, i have made that mistake with my phone several time.
as for the case on walmart, i was just giving an alternative for a cheaper case for those who will want otterbox but can't spend that much. that's why it's cal;l alternative. it cost less, and it will obviously not be the same as the otterbox case. as i said in that post it looks similar in design, but obviously not the same strenght. otterbox do have their customer market, like you. which is not a bad thing, it's just not a one size fit all. some people like me don't have the need for an otterbox case, because i also bought my xoom the looks. i like how it feels and it's design. so i want to enjoy that.
that's why i laught when i see people with the ipad2, saying it is so light and thin, but they have it cover in an otterbox case that makes it looks and feels like the original ipad.to me it;s like why did you buy it based on how thin it was, only to put it ina bullet proof jacket. and i mean let;s face it, a couple yes from now, when there is a xoom 2 or even xoom 3, you know you'll be wanting to get that one as well. and will likey pass this on to someone or sell it. technology is leap year ahead. so there will always be the next generation product.
otterbox did build a name for themselve with good quality product. it was popular with alot of people, mostly teenager, who don't want their summer paycheck to go in breeze with one drop. so ennjoy your otterbox case my friend, i was just stating my opinion, i wasn't dogging otterbox. it's just not a one size fit all. and some people like me bought my xoom for the look as well as the brain. and looks does matter in the tech world. that's why everyone want to make the pretty phones, thin, big screen, shiney cover, and all tht good stuff.
i bet you won't be buying a old IBM laptop over an HP or Apple. cuz you want the pretty choice not the big and bulky IBM. you want the thin and lightweight next generation laptop. same thing with cars and just about everything else. so let's face it looks matters. and it's not about how others view it, it's about how you will like it, cuz you the one that's gonna spend the most time with it.

Your exact words were "i can walk into work with it, or even church. with the otterbox case i'll look like a construction worker. or someone who work with a lot of kids and don't want my xoom to damage". That says you don't want it because it will make you LOOK "like a construction worker" to your coworkers and church members. If you don't care, then it shouldn't matter.
i don't drop my xoom, like you have. so the extra wight and looks is not my style.

I never said I dropped my Xoom. I've dropped my cell phone and there have been times where I've worried about dropping my Xoom, but I have never ACTUALLY dropped it. My point is that if it offers more protection I could care less if other people (including yourself) think it would make me look like a "construction worker". I've never received those opinions about my phone and I doubt anyone would make the same opinion about my Xoom were it in an otterbox. Now, if it had bright yellow markings on it and was much heftier than it is, I could see someone saying it looked like it belonged on a construction site.

I don't see how something that is completely different from the otterbox would be an alternative to it. That's like saying any other case out there on the market is an alternative to the otterbox. Sure they may be alternatives to "cases" in general, but they're not good alternatives to the otterbox unless they are similar in design. Now if you linked to a cheaper shell case with a silicone outer case instead of just a simple silicone case, there would be no argument that it would be an alternative to the otterbox.
otterbox do have their customer market, like you. which is not a bad thing, it's just not a one size fit all. some people like me don't have the need for an otterbox case, because i also bought my xoom the looks. i like how it feels and it's design. so i want to enjoy that.

Which is the same reason someone buys an iPad. I bought mine for function over form. You can take a piece of **** and put a pretty bow on it and it's still going to be a piece of ****. The Xoom, on the other hand, is a pretty slick device inside and out so even if you buy it because of "the looks" then you're still getting a good device.

Actually I wouldn't buy any of those, but I wouldn't buy an "old" anything. I would never consider buying an apple laptop because they charge too much for what you actually get, and I have never really liked hp laptops. Even IBM knows that lighter is better because laptops are more portable as ever these days and with competition between laptops/netbooks/tablets they have to keep up. Their new lenovo laptops aren't the big ol bricks they used to be. I buy for the purpose I need it for. If I'm going to have a laptop I never take away from the house I would go for something like an alienware or XPS system that aren't the lightest things in the world, but they're powerful. When I was in the military I had a panasonic toughbook and loved it. Damn thing was almost bulletproof just on it's own. I would prefer to have the whole package of form AND function, but if I had to choose between an old datsun 280Z that ran like a dream and a brand new nissan Z that could barely go into gear/had no stereo/transmission falling apart I would go for the 280z that ran. I will choose function over form any day as long as it gets the job done.
My last post was a little off topic, so to be a litter more ON-topic XD if they sold a commuter case as well I would be all over it. For anyone that doesn't know the difference, the commuter case has the silicone around the device and the poly shell on the outside instead of the other way around with the defender. It seems like the commuter cases are only made for phones though.
lol..you are such a fun guy to chat with. you broke it all down. which i like. however to all your point as stated it is simply opinion. by me saying i can walk into work or church is my opinion. and i'll say this otterbox on a phone doesn't look bad, becasue of the form factor. it is small and not as obvious as it would be on a xoom. that's why i can quickly pick u when someone has an ipad2 with the bullet proof jacket on. and so you might not have gotten the construction worker comment, becasue people wont say that to you, especially after when they don't know the device you have. ie. i have had aye people as me if my xoom was the ipad. the look on my face usually answer the question.
but i'll tell you man, when i see the otterbox on a tablet (so far only the ipad i've seen) it reminds me of constructon worker doing survey in the field, and that's just a picture in my head, which i not a bad thing i should say. there is nothing agains construction worker. it could easily be one of those at&t workers on a poll connecting telephone wires, or a comcast cable guy doing connection test. those are the target market for otterbox. not that they don't appreciate you the regular folk buying their product. but they are targetting a different market with those bullet proof jacket.
Otterbox
Got my otterbox for xoom and installed it:
Pros:
Great protection
can dock without removing case
access to power button with and without outtershell attached.
well built
can power without removing from case
ports are wellsealed
Cons:
the outer shell design adds too much thickness via excess space (see comparison pic between iPad I and Xoom Otterbox case.
Outer shell squishy due to excess space.(poor design)
1st pic outer shell on Xoom. So much space you can see through it
2d pic outer shell on iPad nice and sleek (looks good)
3rd pic side by side comparison

Any ideas how you would redesign it to remove the excess space? I'm assuming that space was put there on purpose to accommodate for something else.
i think the space is to prevent any damage to the screen by scratching. because the cover has parts that prop it up to make a stand. that could be a reason. but i don't have one, so i can't be sure. but we'll find out soon.

Belt pouch

I have a diztonic case for my nexus. Is there a belt pouch compatible with the phone with the case on it?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
It will fit into the Maxpedition 5" Clip-On Phone / Radio Holster. It is a bit pricey and a bit rugged (so not so good with a smart suit or tux!) but it will hold your phone securely.
Junk the metal belt clip because it can pull out. Thread your belt through the 3 Molle straps horizontally or make a belt loop from a Maxpedition 3" Tactie (Google instructions on using Tacties) or a Malice clip. I use this holster for my Galaxy S2 with a Tactie and it's totally secure.
One point to consider is that the corners of the phone are exposed but I find that the phone cover protects those.

Happy to help. Bear in mind that the 5" holster is really 5" tall and a Nexus is 5.33", so you'll have a little bit of phone protruding. Personally I think that's perfectly fine and gives you something to get hold of to pull the phone out, but I should probably have made that clear. The retaining strap is plenty long enough to accommodate the extra length.
I bought 2 of these for my SGS2 (black and khaki) and I love them. They're totally secure so long as you junk that crappy metal belt clip.
Please post back your opinion once you've tried yours.
Just received mine last week. It's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately I didn't have any 5" tac ties left to get it on my bag. Ordered those, should have them today sometime.
Overall I don't really have anything to complain about other than wishing I had a way for molle to be both secure and also easy to remove when I don't need it

Have you tried Malice clips? They're easier to thread and to undo providing you have a suitable tool handy. I personally don't like them because I find them big, clumsy and inflexible. They make horrid belt loops but they do hold stuff to a pack more tightly than a Tactie and won't ever come undone by accident.
If I don't mind something swinging about a bit I just fasten it with a carabiner. That's the ultimate quick-release Molle connector.

Please suggest leather belt case that can fit Note with slim rubber case

Hola
I see a growing list of sites now offering leather cases for the Galaxy Note. My problem is that I already have a slim rubber case over my Note so it add a little extra bulk to the Note that now it won't fit into any of these leather cases.
I presently have the SGP Ultra Capsule case for the Note:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SGP-Ultra-Capsule-Case-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-N7000-BLACK-/260938444071?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3cc124ad27
I am even willing to use a generic camera case as long as it can fit on my belt. I searched a number of local computer shops, photography outlets, even a few places at the local mall (those kiosks) that has anything that can accommodate this extra size... I found nothing yet!!!
Can someone please help me? Do you think if I searched say for the Dell Streak 5" that such cases can work for the Note in a slim rubber case?
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
I suggest the PDair P01 leather case. I have it and it fits great with a TPU case on the GNote. A little snug, but no problems getting it in and out of the case. I think it would probably fit your case as well. The PDair case is a bit pricey (around $40), but the quality is great.

At some point in life, you have to quit caring what people think about you and do what you want. Carrying a phone on your belt is certainly much more comfortable than in your pocket. Try it. You may change your mind.

At some point in life, you have to quit caring what people think about you and do what you want. Carrying a phone on your belt is certainly much more comfortable than in your pocket. Try it. You may change your mind.

NO sir, you are a douch! It is not easy to fit the note in your pocket you know
How small are your pockets? I wear skinny jeans most of the time and have no issues, it fits perfect and you don't even realise its there, and the other 2 people who wear phones on there belts, don't do it because they don't care what people think, they do it to show off there phone, which makes them douches.
Alexanderbooth Ain't the USA wonderful! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if it is wrong!

Just think how many people would not be able to post how they scratched their GNote screen because they put it in their pocket...if they wore it on their belts, lol! The fact that you said skinny jeans means you are probably under 30.
It may not be cool to wear your phone on your belt, especially a GNote, but it sure is comfortable and practical!

Eh what do you mean? Your phone is miles safer in your pocket than on your belt buckle. And I am 30 :-D, what does that have to do with anything? Again it isn't uncomfortable carrying your phone in your pocket? Plus its on show so you gearing yourself up to get mugged.
I have always worn my phone on my belt if I can, except for very small phones. That does not include the Note! I have far too much other stuff in my pockets - credit card wallet, money wallet & keys. I have tried to reduce these, but there is just too much I need to have with me.
I am waiting for a couple of noreve cases (one with belt clip) and a 'tough as nuts' case (with a proper belt loop). In the mean time, to avoid bulk and scratches, I picked up a couple of neat cases for a Navman GPS device. One is a semi-hard case with foam padding for travel & storage, the other is a 'normal' case with a bit on the back I unpicked to make a belt loop. After a month of wear I need to re-sew the loop, but apart from that it is fine. Those two were about $30.
It is just a bit too loose for my liking, so would probably fit nicely with a rubber case. The inside is smooth so it should slide.
As I usually do now, check the GPS section of any electronics store and find the cases. Find the one that fits. I used to look for camera cases, but these have become to small & fat, where phones are now thinner and larger.
Check out this item I found on eBay:
Black Leather Sleeve Case With Belt Clip for Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 i9220
Link:

mine arrived today, faux leather but fits the Note with PU case. Easily slipped in and out. Looks nice, get compliment and somehow people didn't think the leather case was big, but when I take my phone out, then they think it's big.

When have you seen people who wear their phone in a holster on their belt crying because their screen was scratched by keys or grains of sand in the pocket etc? I referenced your age because as discussed you are still at that age where you care what people think. I have done both with the GNote and wearing it on the belt in a leather holster is much simpler and more comfortable. I can actually use my pockets for other things and not have to worry about my GNote.
Just a preference, neither is right or wrong.

[Review] Noreve Ambition Leather Case (Ivoire)

Hi XDA,
Time for another case review, again from the good people over at Noreve. The company, based in France, is well known for making extremely high quality, genuine leather cases for mobile devices and tablets. In total, this is my 8th Noreve case - that should be a testament of the quality and how much I love these cases.
As always, Noreve does an impeccable job with packaging.
As an extra bonus, you get a soft carrying case for your case as well.
Upon opening the box, you are greeted with that addictive leather smell. It's weird to be smelling your phone all the time, but the case just smells that good. There is nothing quite like high quality, genuine leather.
The case is very solid and feels great in the hand. This model is from the Ambition series, and it seems to be even softer than their standard
Perpetuelle series. Very comfortable to hold, won't slip easily, and even if it does, you're well protected in every way.
Here is the case with a look from the front. Note that you have a cutout for the indicator LED, and also the metal speaker grille. I personally love the metal speaker grille.
Note that they have left enough of a cut out for the microphone and speaker on the bottom of the device.
A shot with the case open.
As you can see from the side views, they is ample room for the volume rocker and power button. Everything is as it should be.
And finally, a shot of the back of the case, revealing the cut out for the camera, which is perfect. This is a model without a belt clip, which is personal preference. If you would like a belt clip installed, then Noreve provides both a choice of metal and/or plastic and no extra charge. Very thoughtful of them.
The only gripe I would have with this case is that the magnet is not quite strong enough. Perhaps it's only the model I reviewed here, but when you fold the front part of the case backwards (when writing a text for example) it has a tendency to flap around a bit, rather than being locked in place by the magnet. Still, not really a big deal, as your hands are usually gripping the phone from behind anyway while using the device.
Overall I would say that this is another fantastic case from Noreve. Haven't really come across a bad one so far, the genuine leather and protective qualities are always a winner with me. And there's just something about it being hand made in France. In this day and age, where almost everything of this sort is made in China from cheap materials, I really do applaud Noreve for sticking to the tradition of hand crafting leather goods. They also offer a staggering array of finishes and colors for your case, pretty much whatever you can think of, they have to offer.
Here is a link to the Nexus 5 product page.
Cheers!

If anyone has ever looked at premium leather cases like Noreve then you know how much these cases are. I am a fan of them, even though they really screwed up my order for my Nexus 4 lol. But growing pains of a small company.
These cases remind me of the old Vaja iVolution cases I had for my Sony Clie NX70 lol. I actually came across my old pda in my desk the other day. I was tempted to power it up lol. In any case, great review and I hope they improved in estimating the time frame to get the cases done. I waited 3 months without a word for my Nexus 4 until I told them to cancel my order. Not sure what happened, but that was my personal experience with them the first go around. I may go and try again, dunno. Depends if I feel like waiting a month for a case because of the hand crafting .
No offense of course to the OP, but is it me or does this case not look very appealing. I understand it is high quality and everything but especially for the 50 euros they're asking for I don't think it looks that great. It just looks kind of "mushy" to me. I also find it weird that it opens vertically.

None taken. People have different tastes when it comes to cases, this is just a good option which offers high quality leather.

That is very strange, I think you may have just had some bad luck. All of my orders have arrived within a week, except the Nexus 7 case I have from them, which was custom made. That arrived in 3 weeks.
I would give them another try because if you like leather, you will love the fit and finish of these cases. And long time no see! I remember you from the Nexus 7 sub-forums, but I have been absent for quite a while.

I provided a link, did I not? Instead of writing that sentence, which took you 56 keystrokes and 2 clicks, you could have just clicked on the link.
People who can read can click on the link to the product page to find out the price is starting at 50€.
Looks like the bump in the flap is a magnet to unlock the phone when opening the case?

Same, still have my 1st gen N7. Didn't see the need to upgrade to the second one as this still serves me well. I say go for the case, it was probably just some bad luck you had. Mine usually doesn't leave my house but I still always have the case on, it's just sexy damn it.

OtterBox Armor Review

Bought this case new from ebay knowing about its few problems being reported like the proximity sensor, call problems, and audio issues, but still preferred this over the lifeproof simply for its protection. When i first received it, my initial reaction was "wow, its here, and its HUGE!" But i carefully disassembled it and clean it out just in case, water tested it (passed), dried it off, and finally put my phone in its new suit of armor. It really made the phone huge, and i mean huge, but i honestly dont mind the added bulk because of its substantial protection and it still feels very comfy in hand and doesnt hinder the phones functionality at all. Speaker for music also plays very loudly and crystal clear unlike other reviewers have stated. I think its a great case to buy and kind of essential if you have a very physically active life. Now to the cons (although their aren't many): Unlike many other reviewers of the white version have stated, i dont have call proximity issues, only thing that happens related to proximity is when i turn the phone over to face down while playing music, it pauses, but thats expected because i had that motion option enabled. Next, phone calls work fine and i hear people just fine, but the caller on the other end may have a problem hearing you sometimes. But it rarely happens and most times they can hear you. Easy fixes are bluetooth and earphones. Lastly, the home button definitely requires more pressure to press and the menu/back "buttons" are a little harder to get to but you'll get used to it. Thats the only thing "wrong" with this case honestly and its still excellent to have. I would highly recommend it. If you dont mind a little bulk, get it. Again, great great case :good:
I have a brand new one in original packaging from otterbox if anyone wants, contact me through dm or 6785162209
Personally speaking, at that kind of bulk, I'd rather shove in a 7200mAh Anker. Protection is nice and all but severely handicaps the phone IMO. If you like bulk, might as well triple your battery life.
Furthermore, if it does get scratched/cracked/broken, it's fairly easy to replace (for most members here). For example, you can swap the camera lens for a few bucks if it does get scratched.
I've had my GS3 for almost two years now. Been completely nude the whole time. No screen protector, nothing. There are many surface scratches on the screen which you can only see if you look at it while the screen is off under a super, super bright light. Doesn't affect the image quality at all. Outside frame (the gray part) is a little cracked in few places. Not a big deal.
Runs flawless on CM 10.2.1. Undervolted almost 100mV across the board.
I used to be OCD, but decided to save my health instead.

I myself looked for waterproof. I too believe as you do and went naked on previous phones. But now with a toddler and my part time job in swimming pool service, waterproof was the selling point.

I personally liked the armor series for my S3. I only stopped using mine due to needing to put my phone in my pocket and the armor didn't quite fit the bill. I use my lifeproof nud for daily use at work but when out playing around or working at the house I still use my armor series. And you definitely can't beat the otterbox warranty.

LOL...I love my phone being slim and I can live with scratches. But after a few near misses with my toddler son and getting soaked a couple of times on the job, I decided I would have to give in. Bring without my phone even for a day would screw up my schedule. Amazing how much I depend on it.

I've also bought this case and it turned out to be just what I was looking for. Before I've had Griffin survivor which would be good enough for me except two things, it was not that easy to remove (I prefer naked S3 while not in a hostile environment) and it scratched my S3. After the latter happened I've immediately sold it.
But the reason to post is for everyone with menu/back/home buttons problem. After a proper inspection I've found out that the back cover of the case doesn't give enough support for installed phone. If the phone is fully pushed into the case there is approximately 1.5mm gap between the phone and the back cover. So after first push on menu/back/home button even if the phone is inserted all the way in to the case, the phone backs up a little and that gap moves from the back to the front. In order to solve this problem I've ordered 1.5mm thick silicone sponge to fill the gap between the phone and the back cover. One thing that bothers me about this is that waterproofness of the case might be broken if 1.5mm thick sponge is too much and even bigger problem is how test waterproofness as I don't want to sacrifice my phone. I'll report any pros or cons about my modification. If it solves this problem I'll post some pictures of modification.
I've had the Acase Superleggera Pro Dual Protection Case on my S3 since I bought it and I love it. I've dropped it so many times and not noticed any difference in performance. And it's not super bulky like the other 2 layer cases. It's also less than $10 at Amazon these days.

I tested its waterproof function without phone first and then finally just did it repeatedly with the phone and it hasnt failed me yet, hopefully never. And also ive noticed this gap, i wouldnt recommend filling it because it may compromise as u stated

For everyday protection sure it may be good, but when it comes to 10ft drop, water, being hit, stomped on, and numerous other things, the armor case is the best.

As I've said if not in hostile environment in my case this is mostly dusty air and greasy surfaces, I prefer my S3 naked. So Otterbox Armor is needed.

I tried with 1.5 mm foam and it was just a little too much. Now I am waiting for 1mm which I think it should work. As I've already said, in my case waterproofness is not really needed but I wouldn't like to brake it. Will report again.

I finally got 2mm foam as 1mm is hard to get. 2mm foam goes into gaps between ribs on the rubber on the back cover of the case. So this just might do the trick as the case closes ok.
The for the review, I have an Otterbox Defender and love it to death, but I've been thinking of buying one of these.
i have the Acase Superleggera Pro Dual Protection Case on my S3 and it is great!
