Custom Rom with MirrorLink Support

Hello everyone,
since i've just got a new car with a MirrorLink function for apps like Android Auto, HTC Car or just to duplicate the smartphone onto the cars screen, i wondered if there are any Nougat-based Custom Roms that feature MirrorLink?
I tried CM14.1 and Lineage (i know they are the same in a way), but it wont work (i tried everything i could), while on a Non-Root M9 everything works just fine.
Maybe there are some of you already using MirrorLink with a certain Rom and are happy with it?
Thanks!
Lukas

Unable to use NFC with LineageOS 15.1

Hi,
I am unable to use NFC on my smartphone since I installed LineageOS 15.1 on it. Although My smartphone supports NFC (I used it when I had the official ROM).
Can somebody help me activate NFC?
I have a Samsung J5 SM-J500FN with LineageOS 15.1. (latest currently).
There is no com.android.nfc on my phone. There used to be one before I installed LineageOS, but now it is not there.
I installed Google Apps Mini which includes "Google Tags (replaces stock/AOSP NFC Tags)"
Shell command service call nfc does not work, because nfc service does not exist
"svc nfc enable" responds "Got a null NfcAdapter, is the system running?"
I don't have any NFC toggle button in the status bar, nor in Settings.
This person says that NFC isn't supported on some phones for LineageOS 14.1, but there is no list of supported devices.
On the contrary, this page says that LineageOS 15.1 supports NFC (NFC is listed in the features - though it could be not implemented in all models, I have no details).
So, basically, if NFC is supported for my smartphone, I'd like to know how to enable the feature. If not, I'd like to see why - as the phone does have the hardware feature
Thanks!
Hey Im trying to figure out this too, I have the same Phone SM-J500FN which indeed does support NFC since I tried it and confirmed it when I installed Official ROM
Try looking on my Thread maybe you will learn some more about this LINK
Ok thanks! I've tried with LineageOS 16, and no NFC support either.
From your link, I understand you haven't been able to use NFC on your SM-J500FN with an custom ROM right?

Minimalist ROM with microG support advice?

Dear all LG G7 users, I would like to create this thread to discuss about ways of using LG G7 with all the basic features working and without Google Apps and Services.
I have a EU G7 with latest firmware and updates (Android 10) This is what I am looking for:
Working USB Tethering Hotspot and WiFi hotspot
Working Gcam
Working Bank Apps
Working microG
Good GPS signal
AOD - Always On Display (if possible)
DT2W - Double Tap to Wake (if possible)
I see there are a few ROMs like LineageOS 18.1, Dot 5, and others. But I am unsure of which one offers the stability I am looking for (not customization). It is ok to use Android 10.
I have downloaded the file from LG to unlock my bootloader, so I am ready my goal is to get rid of Google, and I am aware that with stock rom, even if I like it, it is not possible.
Thanks in advance for everyone who will join the discussion.

I thought custom ROMs based on Android 11 did not have USB tethering. So not even Android 10 based custom ROMs have it? That's strange that a paid app like PDANET allows USB tethering

Because the app itself allow it through their own method. its not using android's implementation. And no, not even android 10 roms have it working on g7
Hi there, I am still here, trying to find a way of minimizing the Google impact in the stock ROM.
Could someone please update me if a custom rom has USB tethering working? And if the answer is still a big NO, is there a way to debloat or degoogle the stock rom via unlocking bootloader and root? Ideally I would love to replace Play Services with microG, or at least remove Play Services while keeping the phone booting. Any advices are appreciated.
EDIT: seems like this is a viable option for me, anyone tried? : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-degoogle-any-device-and-install-microg.4058743/
For other searching here: I just installed AOSPK from Emanuel (telegram group) and it is Android 12 based. Here USB-Tethering works out of the box and the ROM does support signature spoofing so microg can be used right away.

Question GSI on G30

hello, a few months ago I put a GSI on my moto G30 (ArrowOS), I actually liked this GSI a lot... but I can't use some phone functions like bluetooth and headphones on the P2 output...
I use headphones a lot and I was using one with a USB Type-C output but this headphones is having some problems and I want to go back to using my JBL bluetooth headphones that I stopped using because it doesn't connect with my cell phone...
But I don't remember how to put a GSI and I don't even know a good one that I can have a good performance on battery and in games...
Can someone help me?
Hi. GSI performance doesnt varry that much if at all so pick any you like best.
Look at phhusson's GSI List to find a GSI that is compatible
(Must be a higher or equal Android version to the one your phone has stock and the GSI shoud be A/B and arm64)
Your problems sound quite generic and are mentioned in the GSI Troubleshooting FAQ
Such as:
Wired headphones not getting detected.Solution 1Enable alternative headphones detection in phh settings and reboot
This one ^ worked for me and should work for you too i believe.
Bluetooth connecting to device and then disconnectingTry disabling A2DP offload in phh settings
I've tried this too but cant remember if it worked, what works for me is going to the Bluetooth settings for the device and disabling HD Audio.
You can find more fixes on the link above.
About installing the GSI first flash the stock ROM and then follow Sammm77's GSI Flashing Guide.
You can try ArrowOS again with the fixes above and see if they work or pick another GSI.
If you need any clarifications i would be more than happy to help!
