Guys, im the developer of Power Switch, an app that switches off your tablet's screen when you shut the case.
The main thread can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277712
Ive had reports of problems with the light sensor, so would appreciate some debugging feedback.
You can use the lite version to test, it has all the features, but just wont save as much juice.
Thanks in advance. Feel free to reply here or in the main thread, i read both regularly!
Anyone? Feedback appreciated!
Don't have a tablet so wouldn't be using this app but i use 1 of your other apps screenshot ER and like it
Soory should have changed that to phone. This app will work even better on phones, as they have a proximity sensor!
Can someone please make a system wide Haptic Feedback mod? I would like to have a stronger vibration on the haptic feedback. The vibration was just about perfect on the HTC One before I put a case on it, but now that I'm using the UAG Case the haptic feedback is hardly noticeable....

You could try this to do it yourself:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895396
This also might work but not sure:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dunnow.software.vibrationTuner
I would also be interested in a system wide way to change the haptic feedback strength.
Best of luck.

Thanks for the reply. I tried the app in the link you posted, but its not compatible with the HTC One apparently. As for the first option you listed, I'd love to be able to do it myself but I have never decompiled/recompiled an apk or jar file before so I wouldn't know where to begin...
Hopefully though this is something other people would like too, so maybe someone with the know how will see the request and whip up a mod soon!
Good morning,
Is haptic feedback option available on the A5 2017?
If yes, is there any way/mod to activate/add it? I'm hesitating to buy this phone because of this missing option.
Thank you.

Yeah it is real shame Samsung disabled it on A series. But they are there. You can enable them by using Gboard. Also for capacitive touch buttons there is an app to enable it.
I use this app and it works fine.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=myus.vibeonkey
I accidentally turned it on, downloading an app for more quick settings toggles, there was an option for haptic feedback. Strangely enough, it worked fine, even after I uninstalled the app. Just download the app and find haptic feedback in the toggles. Add it to your quick settings and toggle it on. Then you can uninstall the app.
Can't post links, but the app is called shortcutter.
Sorry for my bad English :silly:
Hi
I don't know if it's only me or it's a known issue. I find it very difficulty to type correctly with Mate 20x on many app, especially on Facebook Messenger. The keyboard sometime not response with my typing and laggy. I tried both Gboard and Laban key, all the same.
Any fix for this issues? My Mate 20x is AL00, my input language is Vietnamese (I never got this problem with any android phones before)

Have you changed your screen protector? Some screen protectors make the screen non responsive.
Replace it with gboard

I think he means Settings > Smart assistance > Motion control, and then disable all knuckle gestures.
I have no issues using Gboard and I do have all knuckle gestures disabled (I always disable them) so he may be on to something. Give it a go.

Yes xD thanks
so apparently you mistype alot too like me on mate 20 series ??
I'm planning to buy this phone. But bugs keep me from buying it. I shouldnt spend $700 with stupid issues it shouldnt have. Hope you guys know of a fix....
1. Can I turn off auto brightness without rebooting? Why no toggle for it in status bar?
2. No dark notifications... why aren't notifications dark?
3. Why does the EMUI look so outdated?
4. Some features not working with 3rd party launchers like Nova. Is there a fix?
Dont mean to sound like an ass. But I shouldnt have to invest almost a grand for a phone with issues other phones dont have. Its ridiculous. If you guys have solutions to these issues please let me know. Hope to join the huawei family without them.
.
The fact thet you're here in XDA tells me that you play more with your phone than keeping it bone stock.
1 - Nope, auto brightness isnalways ON which I find stupid.
2 - There is Dark mode that turn the system UI black including Notification panel but not Notification Banner.
3 - I hate EMUI
4 - You can't change launcher on most recent update and there no fix to that. You can on older version like 9.1.0.120 but you need an unlocked bootloader and root.
So do your self a favor and stay away from any Huawei Device and go with Oneplus or Xiaomi
Have bought this phone (UK version) but yet to recieve it.
Not being able to change launcher, is that an issue just for the china version or the international version too on the latest update? That would be a biggie.
Also are there any issues with notifications not getting through all the time (an affliction a lot of Huawei phones suffer from). I had the Honor note 8 (Chinese) and this issue made it infuriating to use. A phone without notifications working properly is a dumb rather than a smart phone in my book.
Lastly one of the best bits about the Honor Note 8 was the ability to clear the notifications by double tapping on the finger print sensor. Do you have that on the Mate 20 X?

Dunno, brightness never bothered me
2. No dark notifications... why aren't notifications dark?
who said that ? THEMES !! it comes will all sort of colors, just download huawei theme manager from playstore, it also including fonts as well
there is also a theme editor from the playstore where you mix and match and come up with your favorite theme all from your phone.
3. Why does the EMUI look so outdated?
because it is ! next month they are releasing a new version where they copied alot from OneUI, which is a good thing and they focused on smoothness and cleaner UI
4. Some features not working with 3rd party launchers like Nova. Is there a fix?
i am using nova, i think this is a chinese version issue not global

i have it for almost 4 months, and i got the note10+ with my renewal and trust me, i sold it without even opening the box. nothing comes close to Mate 20x as a complete package these days, its really fast, battery lasts forever, great screen, amazing camera, amazing charging speeds and one of a kind speakers.

What do you mean?? The notifications drop down is dark. But the notifications banner color is white! Is there any way to get this to turn dark? Does the Power Shade app work as a solution?

Are you sure about that? Auto brightness is disabled until after a reboot.

What I was saying is that one can turn auto bright off but it resets to auto of reboot, that's what I think.

Auto brightness turns on after every reboot but you can toggle it off. It stays off until you reboot the phone again.

PS: yeah, pretty sure not being able to change Launcher is only a Chinese problem. Cause I'm able to change it on my Mate 20 X in USA. I used to use Rootless launcher for quite a bit. But switched back because of the ? animations.
(Quite jealous of the OnePlus animations and gestures control. I miss them from my OP 5T)

You can toggle it ON/OFF whenever. It does not require a reboot. Adaptive brightness turns ON anytime the device is rebooted. It is not such a big deal do not worry about it if you are going to buy the device.
