Good morning,
Is haptic feedback option available on the A5 2017?
If yes, is there any way/mod to activate/add it? I'm hesitating to buy this phone because of this missing option.
Thank you.

Yeah it is real shame Samsung disabled it on A series. But they are there. You can enable them by using Gboard. Also for capacitive touch buttons there is an app to enable it.
I use this app and it works fine.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=myus.vibeonkey
I accidentally turned it on, downloading an app for more quick settings toggles, there was an option for haptic feedback. Strangely enough, it worked fine, even after I uninstalled the app. Just download the app and find haptic feedback in the toggles. Add it to your quick settings and toggle it on. Then you can uninstall the app.
Can't post links, but the app is called shortcutter.
Sorry for my bad English :silly:

Can someone please make a system wide Haptic Feedback mod? I would like to have a stronger vibration on the haptic feedback. The vibration was just about perfect on the HTC One before I put a case on it, but now that I'm using the UAG Case the haptic feedback is hardly noticeable....

You could try this to do it yourself:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895396
This also might work but not sure:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dunnow.software.vibrationTuner
I would also be interested in a system wide way to change the haptic feedback strength.
Best of luck.

Thanks for the reply. I tried the app in the link you posted, but its not compatible with the HTC One apparently. As for the first option you listed, I'd love to be able to do it myself but I have never decompiled/recompiled an apk or jar file before so I wouldn't know where to begin...
Hopefully though this is something other people would like too, so maybe someone with the know how will see the request and whip up a mod soon!
I hope someone can help me out with this (I guess most of my posts arent worth bothering with as they usually go untouched by anyone). I'm trying to figure out a way to disable the touch button backlight on a Google Edition ROM. I have been searching for an answer since the Google Edition hit. All I can ever find is how to disable on GSIII ROMs (non ge). If anyone can please help me out I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Screen Filter is an app that can disable the backlight of the softkeys. Set it to auto-start at boot and you should be good. I know its not a direct fix but its a low impact app that shouldnt effect battery life or operation.

Seems to work for me. Did it dim the screen at all (thats its main function)? Did you see the check box "enable softkey back light" (uncheck it) at the bottom of the app ui?

Yes, it did dim the screen, but if i uncheck the enable softkey back light, anytime I touch the screen the backlights still come on. Are you on a G.E. rom? I am currently on Infamouse G.E.

No im not. I am on AOSP (Slim Bean) though.
There are options to do this in AOKP and CM roms. Anybody know how those builds pull it off?
Give me a minute to shower and I'll write you an app. All you have to do is install my app, reboot, grant it root access, and profit.

Thanks brother. Any luck getting that working? With all of the research I have been doing, I have found MANY people that want to get this option working.

Okay i am having troubles setting it to off on boot. But here is a "toggle" version of it where you can toggle them on or off. Will try and fix the boot issue tomorrow.
SWEEET!!! Works like a charm thanks dude! Like I said, I've been searching for this forever! I know that many others have been searching for this, perhaps you should make a thread in the mods section.

I have a Galaxy Note II on Verizon. Just ran the official 4.4.2 update today. It killed the feedback vibration option for my Samsung keyboard. Haptic is on in sound and it works in the Swype keyboard, but the vibration option in the Samsung keyboard settings is unchecked and grayed out. I would very much like to avoid trying a factory reset. Anyone have any ideas?
I found it. There is a new separate option for Samsung keyboard in the sound settings. Why they moved it and left the old one visible but disabled I have no clue.
If anyone needs it, its the same on Note III on Lollipop...

What are the best uses you guys have found for the squeeze feature? Settings I found useful are -
1) Skip track with a short squeeze and play previous track with a long squeeze.
2) Take a pic while the camera app is open.
Anything else that people have found useful, especially in daily use?
Ummm i didn't know we could use the squeeze feature to skip tracks, how does it work?
I only use it for Google Assistant that's it, i really didn't know we could use it for other things.

Google Assistant of course! U using 3rd party app?
Long squeeze to toggle the flashlight. Too bad I can't get mine (Pixel 2) to work consistently with the screen off.
I use it to enable/disable vibrate mode
The program in the link badger sent you is a awesome! I use double squeeze to turn on flashlight so far.

Does that have a delay to prevent Google Assistant from launching on the first squeeze?

Yup, double squeeze implements a minimum delay of 300ms. Long squeeze doesn't seem to affect single squeeze however.

Hi all, I am just wondering if anyone on the latest stable release 9.5.8.0 can confirm the App Vault it toggleable for the home screen. I dislike using it and prefer to disable it (which I currently can on the latest dev build).
Example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jtyabenqn5ndn56/Screenshot_2018-05-24-19-27-09-272_com.miui.home.png?dl=0
Thanks in advance,
Kaji.
Nobody running this latest stable?
Few are comments, some commenting on a battery drop, no in-built alarm sound, and so on. Probably because of similar comments, some still waiting from updating and commenting on your question.

No worries, are these comments regarding the latest build? If so I probably wouldn't bother updating. Just wanted to check this one thing with the hope the build was actually working fully.

Like, completely gone from launcher or the setting is not there? FYI, the app vault toggle in my screenshot disables the shelf left of the home page of your launcher which includes notes, calander, search etc.
Thanks!
Ah yes sorry, the toggle in the settings is gone but the shelf left on the home screen is still there !

No worries! Actually the opposite of what I was hoping for haha. Would like to have the ability to remove it like in the screenshot I linked! Thanks for confirming for me
Seems they are removing that option in all the stable releases for whatever reason...
I didn't understand how to use it. I will have a try

The toggle in my screenshot adds or removes the extra page on the home screen when you swipe left. The one with the search, notes, calander etc :good:
